‘Time to Party!’ is one of the key Important Requests you’ll tackle in Rocky Ridges during your adventure in Pokémon Pokopia. Unlike other requests that focus on improving the environment, this one is all about throwing the best party the Pokémon universe has ever seen — and as we all know, party quality is very much measurable. You’ll need to reach 100 Mood Points by completing a variety of subrequests before the real festivities can begin.

Fair warning: this Important Request has quite the long lead-up. You’ll need to fix the Pokémon Center PC, learn three dishes from Chef Dente, and craft the cooking equipment before the party even gets started. Stick with it — here’s our complete walkthrough for the ‘Time to Party!’ Important Request in Pokémon Pokopia.

Pre-Party: How to Unlock Time to Party!

Before ‘Time to Party!’ can begin, there are a few prerequisite steps to work through in Rocky Ridges. You’ll need to repair the Pokémon Center PC, which involves sourcing the required materials and building the necessary components. After that, Chef Dente will teach you how to make three dishes — you’ll also need to craft the items required for cooking at this stage.

Once all of that is done, Scorbunny will want to investigate a strange noise in the area. Follow Scorbunny and you’ll end up meeting DJ Rotom, which is the trigger that officially kicks off the ‘Time to Party!’ Important Request.

Time to Party! Full Walkthrough

A number of the subrequests below can be completed in any order, so don’t worry if your sequence differs slightly from the one listed here. Work through them at your own pace — what matters is reaching 100 Mood Points.

Step 1 — Talk to DJ Rotom. When DJ Rotom has a speech bubble reading ‘Hey, everybodyyyy!’ above its head, interact with it to begin the request officially.

Step 2 — Talk to Chef Dente. Chef Dente will brief you on what needs to be prepared for the party. This kicks off several of the food-related subrequests you’ll be completing throughout the walkthrough.

Step 3 — Clear the Volcanic Ash with Rock Smash. Use Rock Smash to clear all of the Volcanic Ash out of the party area. This is worth doing thoroughly — clean the entire area and store the Volcanic Ash in a storage box rather than discarding it. You’ll need a lot of Volcanic Ash to make Glass later in the game, and farming it again from scratch is a pain. Check our guide on how to increase Storage in Pokémon Pokopia if you’re running low on box space.

Step 4 — Set up the Party Cooking Pot. Once the area is cleared, place the Party Cooking Pot in the open space. This is the centrepiece of the party setup and will be needed for the curry later in the walkthrough.

Step 5 — Talk to Professor Tangrowth. Interact with Professor Tangrowth to begin his subrequest. He’ll ask you to track down a Large Lost Relic for display at the party.

Step 6 — Find and display a Large Lost Relic. Large Lost Relics are obtained by smashing the gold glowing blocks found throughout Pokopia. You may need to smash several blocks before one drops. Some blocks may trigger an explosion when smashed — use Water Gun on them if that happens to neutralise the blast. Once you have a Large Lost Relic, take it to be appraised and then display it in the party area. Displaying additional appraised relics beyond the first will further boost the Mood Points total, so it’s worth hunting for extras if you’re struggling to hit 100.

Step 7 — Talk to Chef Dente to begin the Party Platter subrequest. Chef Dente will task you with making five Party Platters for the party spread.

Step 8 — Craft five Party Platters. Each Party Platter costs one Iron Ingot to make, so you’ll need five Iron Ingots in total. Check our Iron Ingots guide if you need to farm more before proceeding.

Step 9 — Cook any five meals. The specific meals don’t matter — five leaf salads will do the job perfectly if you want to conserve resources. You’ll need Leaves for salads, so stock up if needed before cooking.

Step 10 — Place the Party Platters and food in the party area. Set the Party Platters down on any surface in the party area, then place the cooked food on top of them. As with the relics, placing additional loaded Party Platters beyond the minimum will increase the Mood Points total — stack as many as you can if you need the boost.

Step 11 — Talk to DJ Rotom about a CD. DJ Rotom will ask you to bring it a CD. CDs are found by smashing gold glowing blocks or interacting with CD racks around the area. If you haven’t found one yet, head back to the location where you first met DJ Rotom and interact with the CD rack next to the cabinet — there should be one there. Once you have a CD, return to DJ Rotom and select ‘Let’s talk about CDs, yo’ to place it inside.

Step 12 — Build the Uplifting Duckweed habitat. After the CD interaction, DJ Rotom will ask you to make an ‘Uplifting Duckweed’ habitat, which requires four Duckweed and two Water. To craft Duckweed, you’ll need to eat a Salad first to power up the Leafage ability. Once the habitat is built, wait for Ludicolo to appear inside it — you can place a Security Camera to monitor it if you’d rather go off and handle other tasks in the meantime.

Step 13 — Bring Ludicolo to DJ Rotom. Once Ludicolo appears in the habitat, have it follow you and escort it back to DJ Rotom. Interact with DJ Rotom to complete this step and trigger the next phase.

Reaching 100 Mood Points

After the Ludicolo step, DJ Rotom will ask you to put the finishing touches together to push the party to 100 Mood Points. You can boost Mood Points in several ways — use as many as needed to hit the target:

Bring Hype Pokémon to the party. Pokémon with the Hype Specialty — including Clefairy, Jigglypuff, and others — contribute Mood Points when present at the party. Check the Specialties guide and our Habitat Dex to find out which habitats you need to build to attract each Hype Pokémon. Our full Pokédex is also useful for tracking down specific species.

Add party-themed decorations. Balloons, Small Stages, and other party items obtained by appraising Lost Relics all contribute to the Mood. Place as many as you have available in the party area.

Place additional Party Platters with food. Every extra loaded platter adds to the Mood Points total, so keep crafting and placing if you have the Iron Ingots and food to spare.

Once DJ Rotom has a speech bubble reading ‘Vibin’!’ above its head, you’ve hit 100 Mood Points and the party is officially a success. Talk to DJ Rotom to move forward.

Cooking the Curry – Final Steps

With the party atmosphere secured, it’s time to cook the main event.

Step 14 — Talk to Chef Dente. Chef Dente will brief you on the curry recipe and what ingredients are needed.

Step 15 — Add the ingredients to the Party Cooking Pot. You’ll need: 15 Leppa Berries, 15 Wheat, 15 Beans, and 5 Honey. Stock up before beginning this step — running out mid-cook will stall your progress. If you’re short on Wheat, our Wheat farming guide will help you restock quickly.

Step 16 — Bring the required five Pokémon to the Cooking Pot. The exact five Pokémon required will vary from player to player, but Chef Dente will always be one of them. Check which Pokémon are highlighted in your request log and gather them before starting the cook timer.

Step 17 — Wait seven minutes for the curry to cook. The curry takes seven real-time minutes to prepare. Use the time to tend to other tasks — checking off any remaining Human Records collectibles like Notes or Papers, or working on your Environment Level in Rocky Ridges.

Step 18 — Talk to Chef Dente. Once the curry is ready, speak with Chef Dente to confirm the dish is complete.

Step 19 — Talk to Professor Tangrowth.

Step 20 — Climb the volcano.

Step 21 — Talk to Volcanion. At the summit, you’ll encounter Volcanion. Interact with it to trigger the next story beat.

Step 22 — Talk to Professor Tangrowth. Head back to Professor Tangrowth to wrap up the final conversation and officially complete the request.

What Happens After Time to Party!

Congratulations — you’ve completed the ‘Time to Party!’ Important Request! Depending on where you are in your overall Pokopia playthrough, two paths now open up. You can head to Bleak Beach via the eastern Area Gate in Withered Wasteland and complete the ‘Brighten things up!’ Important Request, or — if you’ve already done that — head directly to Sparkling Skylands via the northern Area Gate in Rocky Ridges.

Before leaving Rocky Ridges, it’s worth taking the time to rebuild the Rocky Ridges Pokémon Center fully and push the Environment Level to at least 5. Doing so will make it much easier to return to Rocky Ridges for late-game farming and Comfort Level management later.
