How to Get Credits Fast in Star Wars Galactic Racer

    TL;DR

    • Credits are temporary currency — they reset at the end of every Tour run.
    • The fastest way to earn more is to finish higher in races. First place pays significantly more than the bottom of the pack.
    • Always place sidebets in Act 2 onward — winning them doubles your wager and stacks alongside race earnings.
    • The High Roller Favor (unlocked by beating Fola Kanjen) doubles Credit earnings from sidebets at Rank 3.
    • The Victorious Loser Favor (unlocked by beating Griff Halloran) gives a 50% Credit bonus even when you finish in the bottom nine.
    • Crash and lose the Tour and you lose almost all Credits — Hibi sells your wrecked vehicle for a small amount, which is all you keep.
    • Avoid unnecessary repairs — faulty or damaged Parts drain Credits fast.

Credits in Star Wars Galactic Racer are the lifeblood of every Tour run. You use them to buy Parts at Hibi’s Shop, pick up gear from the Scrap Dealer, repair broken components, and unlock Abilities. The tricky part is that Credits do not carry between Tours — when a run ends, so does your money. That means you need to earn and spend efficiently within each run. Here is exactly how to do it.

How Credits Work in Star Wars Galactic Racer

Credits are earned during a Campaign Tour through race finishes, sidebets, Field Tests, and select Mystery Encounters. They are spent at Hibi’s Workshop, the Scrap Dealer, and occasionally during Mystery Encounter chains like the Malis Vazosk deal.

The most important thing to know: Credits are run-specific. When a Tour ends — whether you complete it or get eliminated — your Credits reset. You do not bank money across runs. This means the goal is not to hoard Credits but to spend them smartly within the current Tour before a run ends or before you lose them in a crash.

Multiplayer mode does not earn Credits. If you want money, the Campaign Tour is the only place it exists.

How to Get Credits Fast in Star Wars Galactic Racer 2

Best Ways to Earn Credits Fast

    1. Finish Higher in Races

This is the most direct method. The higher you finish, the more Credits you earn per event. Finishing in last place can net you around 400 to 500 Credits. Finishing first can push that past 1,000 Credits in a single race — and that difference compounds over a full Tour of six or more events.

Beyond placement, higher finishes also unlock Upgrade Packs, Parts, and Abilities as rewards — items you would otherwise spend Credits on. Winning races does double duty: it earns you money and it saves you money.

For help improving your race results, see our guides on how to get the starting boost and how to nail Perfect Landings.

    2. Place Sidebets on Every Race

From Act 2 onward, the Challenges menu before each Race or Eliminator lets you wager Credits on finishing ahead of a specific racer. If you beat them, you get your wager back at double value. If you do not beat them, you lose the wager.

The risk is real, but betting against lower-ranked opponents minimises it. Sidebets are one of the most consistent Credit multipliers in the game — a small wager that you win across five or six events per Tour adds up quickly. There is almost never a good reason not to place one, unless you are genuinely out of Credits.

Beyond the money, sidebets are also how you build rivalries and unlock some of the best Favors in the game — more on that below.

    3. Unlock and Equip the High Roller Favor

High Roller is unlocked by beating Fola Kanjen in a Rivalry Head-to-Head race. At Rank 3, it gives you 100% more Credits from every successful sidebet. That turns every winning wager into a major payout. If you are serious about credit efficiency, this Favor completely changes the economy of your runs.

The catch is you need to trigger a rivalry with Fola Kanjen through the sidebet system first. See our guide on how to win Rivalry Head-to-Head races for the full process.

    4. Equip the Victorious Loser Favor

Victorious Loser unlocks by beating Griff Halloran in a Head-to-Head. At Rank 3, it gives you 50% increased Credit rewards when you finish in the bottom nine. This sounds like a consolation prize, but it is remarkably useful in two situations: when you are experimenting with a new build that is not race-ready yet, and when you are doing a Tour where you know survival matters more than podiums.

Combining High Roller and Victorious Loser in the same Tour creates a Credits setup that pays out in almost any situation — winning bets pay double, and bad race results still earn decent money.

    5. Complete Field Tests for Bonus Rewards

Field Test events — the map nodes tied to Hibi and Soren Zaks — do not pay as much as races, but they come with a crucial advantage: they do not cost a League Token to fail. That makes them a safe source of rewards, including Upgrade Packs and occasional Parts that save you Credit spending later.

Completing Gadgeteer Field Tests through Hibi is also how you unlock the Gadgeteer Favor, which lets you equip extra Parts — potentially saving you even more Credits by getting more from what you find.

    6. Use Mystery Encounters Selectively

Some Mystery Encounters can boost your Credit earnings indirectly — for example, by improving your vehicle so you perform better in races, or by offering a trade that upgrades your build without you spending Credits. Some can also grant a League Token, which has real value even if it is not money directly.

However, Mystery Encounters are not reliable Credit sources. Some will ask for money (the Malis Vazosk chain costs up to 20,000 Credits total) and some may hurt your race performance temporarily. Use them for Favor hunting and Tour progression rather than as a primary Credits strategy. For the full picture, see our guide on whether you should do Mystery Encounters.

How to Not Lose Your Credits

Earning Credits is only half the job. Losing them is surprisingly easy.

    • Crashing out ends your run and resets Credits. If you lose all your League Tokens and the Tour ends, you lose almost everything. Hibi sells your wrecked vehicle for a small amount — that is all you keep. Avoid unnecessary crashes, especially late in a Tour when your Credits are highest.
    • Repairs drain your Credit balance fast. If your vehicle takes on Faults or damage, repairing it at Hibi’s Shop costs Credits. Keep your vehicle in good shape so you are not spending money just to stay functional. See our guide on how to fix faults and repair Parts.
    • Overspending early leaves nothing for late Tour. Hibi restocks at the start of every new planet. If you blow your Credits on the first planet before seeing what later planets offer, you may miss a key Part or Ability when it matters most. Pace your spending across the run.
    • Losing sidebets costs you the wager. Bet against someone you are not confident of beating and you lose the Credits. Keep bets on racers you can reliably finish ahead of rather than chasing the biggest payout against a top-ranked opponent.

    Best Favors for Credit Efficiency

If you are running multiple Tours and want to consistently have strong Credit income, these Favors are the ones to prioritise:

    • High Roller (Fola Kanjen Head-to-Head) — 100% more Credits from sidebets at Rank 3. The single best Credit Favor in the game.
    • Victorious Loser (Griff Halloran Head-to-Head) — 50% more Credits for bottom-nine finishes. Takes the sting out of bad races.
    • Fan Club (Lyren Shok Head-to-Head) — Top-three finishes have a 20% chance at a bonus Upgrade Pack. Saves spending Credits on upgrades you would have bought anyway.
    • Clandestine Aid (complete Act 1) — Starts every Tour with an extra League Token and 2,000 Credits. Free money from the first event.

All five Favor-unlocking Head-to-Head rivals are outlined in our Rivalry Head-to-Head guide.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do Credits carry over between Tours?

No. Credits are completely reset at the end of every Tour run, whether you complete it or get eliminated. They are temporary currency that only exists within a single run.

What is the fastest way to earn Credits in one Tour?

Finish first in every race and win sidebets on every event. If you have the High Roller Favor equipped, doubled sidebet payouts on top of first-place finishes is the most efficient credit income possible per Tour.

Can I earn Credits in Multiplayer mode?

No. Credits only exist in the Campaign Tour. Multiplayer and Arcade modes do not use the Credit economy.

What happens to my Credits if I crash and lose the Tour?

You lose almost all of them. When your League Tokens run out and a Tour ends, Hibi sells your wrecked vehicle for a small amount and that is what you keep. Everything else resets.

    Are sidebets always worth doing?

Almost always. Winning doubles your wager, and even losing only costs the staked amount. As long as you bet against racers you can reliably beat, sidebets are the easiest consistent Credit multiplier in the game. They also build rivalries that unlock Favors — so there are two reasons to place them every race in Act 2 onward.

Does difficulty affect how many Credits I earn?

Higher difficulty races are harder to finish well in, which can hurt your Credit income if you are placing lower. Lower difficulty lets you finish higher more consistently, which generally means more Credits per event. For Credits specifically, racing on a difficulty where you can regularly podium is more important than pushing yourself on Champion.
