01 — Overview

What Are Halos?

Halos are prestigious cosmetic effects that hover above your character’s head. Unlike gears or mutators, halos provide no gameplay advantage — they are pure prestige items that signal to other players exactly how much you’ve achieved. They fall under the “YXclusive” rarity in the effects system, meaning they cannot be obtained from boxes and are only awarded through specific milestones.

Important — the halo count changed in 2024. Most guides still list only 4 obtainable halos (Blue, Pink, Teal, Purple). As of February 2026, there are 6 obtainable halos: the Carmine Halo was added on August 31, 2024, and the Red Halo returned on December 13, 2024 with the launch of THE Tower of Hell game mode.

02 — Difficulty

Obtainable Halos Tier List

Ranked by difficulty to obtain in February 2026. This is not a tier list of rarity or prestige — it is purely about how hard each halo is for a new player to grind out.

S
Legendary Challenge
Only the absolute elite own these halos.
???? Red Halo — Complete all 330 sections of THE Tower
A
Extremely Hard
Requires either extreme luck (RNG spawn) or massive coin grinding.
❤️‍???? Carmine — Wait for the rare Saboteur section to spawn ???? Teal — Unlock all coin box effects (millions of coins, weeks of grinding)
B
Very Hard
Requires the most prerequisites — you essentially need the other halos first.
???? Purple — All 7 badges (including Maxed + Collector = Pink + Teal first)
C
Hard
Significant time investment but consistent effort gets you there.
???? Pink — Reach Level 80 + max Skill Tree (80 skill points, ~hundreds of wins)
D
Moderate
No grinding required, but costs real money and is still RNG.
???? Blue — Open Robux Effect Boxes (2% drop chance @ 9–25 Robux per box)
Optimal order for collecting all 6: Start with the Pink Halo (Level 80 + Skill Tree), which also gives you the Maxed badge needed for the Purple. Get Teal next by grinding coin boxes (you’ll also unlock the Collector badge). Blue is Robux RNG whenever you feel lucky. Hunt for Carmine while you grind. Go for Purple once you have Pink, Teal, and the other badges. Leave Red for last — it’s the ultimate prestige goal.

04 — Blue Halo

???? Blue Halo — Robux RNG

????
Blue Halo
✅ Obtainable
A glowing blue ring that floats above your head. The only halo in the game you can buy with real money rather than earn through skill or grinding. It is also the only halo that involves pure luck — no amount of effort guarantees it.
How to Get Open Robux Effect Boxes in the shop. The Blue Halo is a Legendary (2% chance) drop from Robux boxes. On average, it takes 50 boxes to obtain — at the current price of 9–25 Robux per box depending on your region.
???? 2% Drop Rate ???? Pure RNG ???? Robux Required

The Blue Halo has the most interesting history of any halo in the game. Originally (before Robux boxes existed), it was the reward for earning the Explorer badge — completing all sections in the game. When Robux boxes launched in November 2020, the Blue Halo was moved there as a random drop, and the Legacy Blue Halo (the original one) was removed from the game entirely — including from players’ inventories who had earned it. This was announced by uwuPyxl and caused significant community controversy.

Regional pricing note: As of mid-2025, Roblox rolled out regional pricing. Robux box costs vary by country — some regions pay significantly less than the global price (no region pays less than 30% of the global rate). Check your in-game shop for your local price before spending.
Pro tip: There’s no trick to guarantee the Blue Halo. If you’re going for it, open boxes in batches rather than single-at-a-time. The 2% chance doesn’t improve the more you open, but mentally batching helps you track your spending.
05 — Pink Halo

???? Pink Halo — Max Skill Tree

The Pink Halo is awarded automatically when you earn the Maxed badge — achieved by reaching Level 80 and purchasing every skill in the Skill Tree.

Step-by-Step Guide

Reach Level 80
Your level is shown at the bottom of the screen. XP = coins earned per round — completing sections earns XP proportional to how much of the tower you cleared. Completing a full Noob Tower = 100 XP. Completing a full Pro Tower = 250 XP. Pro Towers give 2.5× the XP per run but require the Pro Tower gamepass (350 Robux). You need 80 skill points total to max the tree, one per level.
???? XP earned per level = 100 × level number. Level 0→1 = 100 XP (1 noob win), Level 79→80 = 8,000 XP (80 noob wins)
Collect Your 80 Skill Points
You earn 1 skill point per level. At Level 80 you’ll have exactly 80 skill points — enough to max the entire Skill Tree. You cannot level past 80 without already having maxed the tree (leveling continues but at a slower pace).
Max Out the Skill Tree (All 4 Branches)
Open the Skill Tree from your level display. Spend all 80 points across the four branches (Gravity Coil, Speed Coil, Trowel, Hook). You must purchase all upgrades in all branches. As soon as you spend the last point, you’ll receive the Maxed badge.
⚠️ Note: You can only have ONE branch active at a time during gameplay, but you must purchase all four branches to get the badge.
Receive the Halo
The Pink Halo is awarded when you obtain the Maxed badge. If it doesn’t appear immediately, rejoin the game — this is a known issue where the halo sometimes requires a relog to show up in your effects collection.

XP Needed at Each Level Range

100
XP for Level 1 (1 noob win)
1,000
XP for Level 10 (10 wins)
5,000
XP for Level 50 (50 wins)
8,000
XP for Level 80 (80 wins needed for that level)
3,240
Total wins (noob) needed: 0→80
1,296
Total wins (pro) needed: 0→80
Fastest path to Level 80: Buy the Pro Tower gamepass (350 Robux) for 2.5× XP per run. Use the Speed Coil + Low Gravity mutator combo to complete towers faster. Each extra second you save per run compounds dramatically over hundreds of runs.
06 — Teal Halo

???? Teal Halo — Collector

The Teal Halo is awarded when you earn the Collector badge by unlocking every single effect obtainable from coin boxes. This is widely considered the most grind-intensive halo in the game due to RNG duplicate pulls.

You do NOT need effects from Robux boxes. Only effects from coin boxes count. This includes all Common (Average), Interesting, Purple, and Legendary rarity effects from coin boxes — but NOT the Blue Halo or any Robux-box exclusives. You also do NOT need YXclusive black-rarity effects (halos themselves, event exclusives, etc.).

Coin Box Effects — Rarity Breakdown

RarityDrop ChanceColorNotes
Average~60%WhiteMost common. Trails, simple particle effects
Interesting~25%BlueMore unique visual effects, still relatively common
Purple~13%PurplePlastic Coils, special trails. Note: Purple Trail color is unique per player’s level color
Legendary~2%OrangeRarest drops. Includes special trail variants and Plastic Coils
52 total coin box effects including 6 Legendary ones (Touch, Tap, Play research). Each coin box costs 500 coins. Due to duplicates, many players spend several million coins to complete the Collector badge. Coin boxes previously cost 100 coins (then 1,000, then settled at 500). Historically, instead of duplicates you could receive gears from boxes — this was changed.

Fastest Coin Farming for Teal Halo

Use the Double Coins Gamepass
The Double Coins gamepass gives 2× coins per tower completion. At Pro Tower level this means up to 500 coins per run. Combined with the Double Coins mutator you earn 300% (not 400% — the game adds rather than multiplies). Essential if you plan to grind millions of coins.
Play Pro Towers
Pro Towers award up to 250 coins per run (500 with gamepass). That’s 2.5× the coins of a Noob Tower per completion. Even partial completions scale up — completing 4 of 12 sections still awards coins based on a quadratic formula.
Use Private Server Commands (Advanced)
In a private server, use /filtersections !locals and /filtersections kills to remove kill-part sections, making towers significantly easier to complete. Use the Invincibility mutator (500 coins) to nullify any remaining kill parts. This dramatically increases your completion rate per hour.
???? Private server costs ~100 Robux/month but pays off quickly if you’re grinding millions of coins
Track Missing Effects
In the Shop → Effects tab, any effect with a lock icon is one you haven’t obtained yet. Focus your mental energy on the Legendary-tier effects, as these take the longest to complete. Buying boxes in sessions of 10–20 at a time helps track progress without burnout.
07 — Purple Halo

???? Purple Halo — All Badges

The Purple Halo is awarded when you collect all 7 badges in Tower of Hell. Because two of those badges (Maxed and Collector) require the Pink and Teal halos respectively, the Purple Halo is effectively a master completion reward.

BadgeRequirementHalo LinkedDifficulty
???? NewbieComplete your first Noob Tower (touch the door at the top)NoneVery Easy

???? CollectorUnlock all effects from coin boxes???? Teal HaloVery Hard
????️ ExplorerTouch (not complete, just reach) all 350+ sections in the gameNoneVery Hard (350+ sections)
Fastest way to get the Secret badge: Use a private server. With the /skip command, you can cycle through sections until a secret section spawns. The easiest is to use /filtersections secrets if available, or simply skip through sections until you get one. Secret sections appear as a distinct visual style (usually a side door or special area in the tower).
Explorer badge note: You must physically touch each of the 350+ sections — just being in a server where they appear is not enough. Using a private server with /skip and systematically going through sections is the most efficient method. Community Discord servers sometimes organize Explorer badge runs.
08 — Carmine Halo

❤️‍???? Carmine Halo — Saboteur Secret

Added on August 31, 2024, the Carmine Halo is one of the newest and rarest halos in the game. It is awarded by completing the Saboteur secret section — a complex multi-part event section created by uwuPyxl and Kitten_Bites.

Critical rule — you MUST be in the server before the section spawns. If you join mid-round in a server that already has the Saboteur active, you will see an “ERR 410” message and the halo will not be awarded. Server-hopping to find an active Saboteur round does NOT work.

How the Saboteur Section Works

The Section Spawns in Your Tower
Saboteur consists of 5 distinct sections (with 2 duplicates) for 7 total floors placed within the tower. Four sections appear in the main tower in random order: The Core (control room with pulsing core), Bunker Branch (480-degree spiral staircase), and two Coolant Sector sections (levers for pumps A and B).
Complete the Objectives (With Other Players)
Players need to coordinate: patrol the two cooling levers and the control room. Other players will randomly interact with the levers — you need to keep them in the correct position. This is much easier with 2–3 cooperating players. The section splits the tower horizontally, which is unusual.
⚠️ The /skip command CANNOT be used to skip to or through Saboteur sections
Touch the Halo Stand to Claim
Once the event completes, a halo stand appears with the Carmine Halo on it. Touch it to receive both the Saboteur badge and the Carmine Halo. After a timer, the door closes, all players are killed, and a new normal tower begins.
Spawn rate: Saboteur has a weight of 250 (vs. ~50 for average secret sections), making it approximately 5× more common than other secret sections. However, it still remains rare overall. You can use a private server and cycle through towers with /filtersections !locals to increase the chance of seeing it — but you cannot directly force it to spawn.
09 — Red Halo

???? Red Halo — THE Tower

The rarest obtainable halo in the game. The Red Halo is awarded by completing THE Tower of Hell — a 330-section tower added on December 13, 2024. Only around 150 players have ever completed it.

????
Red Halo
???? Extremely Rare
Awarded to players who complete all 330 sections in THE Tower of Hell game mode. Only a tiny number of players worldwide have achieved this. The Red Halo is the ultimate proof of Tower of Hell mastery.
How to Get Enter the “THE Tower” portal in the lobby and complete all 330 vanilla sections in a single run. Touch the finish gate at the top to receive the Certified Beast badge and the Red Halo simultaneously.
???? ~150 Owners ⏱️ Hours Per Run ???? Dec 2024 Addition

THE Tower was added on December 13, 2024 as part of the Christmas 2024 update, bringing the Red Halo back as an obtainable reward for the first time since it was removed in 2020. The original Red Halo was the reward for completing “The Tower of Hell” — a standalone legacy game with only 17 sections, which was exploited and subsequently made unobtainable.

Important mechanics note: The /ttoh full private server command spawns a 330-section tower but does NOT award the Red Halo. Only the /ttoh command in private servers (or the in-game THE Tower portal) will award the halo upon completion. All sections are randomized except Start, The Message, Which One, MiniTower, Anticipation, and Finish — this is to prevent exploits.
You must be at least Level 10 to receive the Red Halo. At least one player had to complete THE Tower three times before receiving the badge because they were below this threshold. Check your level before attempting.

11 — Unobtainable

Unobtainable Halos

These halos still exist in the game — players who earned them before they became unobtainable still wear them. But new players cannot earn them. Seeing one is increasingly rare.

????
Green Halo
❌ Unobtainable
The rarest unobtainable halo by sheer exclusivity. Awarded as compensation to anyone who had purchased the “Infinite Coins” (Infinite Yxles) gamepass before it was removed in early 2020. Those players received both the Double Coins gamepass and the Green Halo.
Why Unobtainable The Infinite Coins gamepass was removed. No new compensation was issued after that window. Under ~500 owners exist, making the Green Halo arguably the rarest halo worn in public lobbies.
???? Gamepass Compensation~500 Owners
????
Orange Halo
❌ Unobtainable
Originally awarded as part of the Halloween 2019 event. Was removed due to community controversy — players who had earned the Orange Halo before it felt it was too easily obtainable and complained. The halo was subsequently removed from players’ inventories and re-designated as staff-only.
Why Unobtainable Removed after community backlash over perceived low difficulty of the event requirement. Staff members can still obtain and wear it. Announced by uwuPyxl in the YXceptional Discord server.
???? Halloween 2019???? Staff Only Now
????
Legacy Blue Halo
❌ Unobtainable
The original Blue Halo that was awarded for earning the Explorer badge — completing all sections in the game. When Robux Effect Boxes launched in November 2020, a new Blue Halo was added as a random drop, and the Legacy Blue Halo was removed from all player inventories.
Why Unobtainable Replaced by the current Blue Halo (Robux box drop) and simultaneously removed from inventories of players who had earned it. This was one of the most controversial decisions in ToH history — players lost a hard-earned halo with no replacement.
???? Explorer Badge Reward~2,500 Owners
????
RB Halo
❌ Unobtainable
A special multi-piece halo awarded during the Roblox “Ready Player Two” RB Battles Championship event. Players had to find three halo pieces while competing in the Tower of Hell RB game mode accessed through the white portal in the lobby.
Why Unobtainable Tower of Hell RB was privatized on March 3, 2023, and the badge was disabled on March 9, 2023. Players who had all 3 pieces but hadn’t touched the white door to claim the badge are permanently locked out. The halo counter includes only those who fully claimed it — approximately 10,000 players.

14 — FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How many halos are there in Tower of Hell total?
As of February 2026, there are 6 obtainable halos (Blue, Pink, Teal, Purple, Carmine, Red), 4 unobtainable halos still in the game (Green, Orange, Legacy Blue, RB Halo), 5+ staff-exclusive halos, and 2 halos that were fully removed from inventories (Orange and Legacy Blue were later removed from inventories; the Orange Halo was re-designated as staff-only). Most guides are outdated and only list 4 obtainable halos.
Which halo should I go for first?
Start with the Pink Halo — it’s the most straightforward skill-based grind (Level 80 + Skill Tree max). You earn skill points automatically by playing, so progress is consistent. While grinding for Pink, start opening coin boxes periodically to work toward the Teal Halo in parallel.
Do I need all 7 badges for the Purple Halo?
Yes — all 7: Newbie, Pro, Mutated, Secret, Maxed, Collector, and Explorer. The Maxed badge requires the Pink Halo grind (Level 80 + Skill Tree), and the Collector badge requires the Teal Halo grind (all coin box effects). Effectively, the Purple Halo requires completing the Pink and Teal halos first.
Can I get the Carmine Halo in a private server?
Yes, but with restrictions. The Saboteur section can spawn in private servers, BUT you cannot use the /skip command to directly spawn it. You also cannot use /filtersections to force it. You must wait for it to naturally appear through normal tower generation. Continually rejoining an empty private server is considered server-hopping and will NOT let you obtain the halo.
Is there a trick to get the Blue Halo faster?
No. The Blue Halo is a 2% Legendary drop from Robux Effect Boxes. There’s no guaranteed method — it’s pure RNG. On average you’d need to open around 50 boxes. The only tip is to check regional pricing in your country, as Roblox’s mid-2025 regional pricing update may mean boxes are cheaper in your region.
Can I lose my halo if I reset the Skill Tree?
No. Resetting the Skill Tree (which costs 50 Robux) does not remove your Pink Halo. Halos are permanently tied to your account once earned — they cannot be lost, only equipped or unequipped.
What’s the rarest halo that normal players can still wear?
Among currently wearable halos owned by non-staff players, the Green Halo is the rarest (~500 owners) followed by the Red Halo (~150 owners who’ve completed THE Tower). The Green Halo is rarer in terms of total owners, but the Red Halo is considerably harder to earn for new players.
Why did some players get their halos removed from their inventory?
The Legacy Blue Halo and Orange Halo were fully removed from player inventories — not just made unobtainable. The Legacy Blue was removed when Robux boxes launched in November 2020 (announced by uwuPyxl). The Orange was removed after Halloween 2019 due to community controversy. All other unobtainable halos (Green, RB Halo) are still in the inventories of those who originally earned them.
