Where is Xur in Destiny 2?
- Xur is always at the Tower Bazaar — he no longer moves between planets since The Final Shape expansion.
- He arrives every Friday at the weekly reset (12 PM EST / 10 AM PDT / 5 PM GMT) and leaves on Tuesday at reset.
- Find him in the alleyway to the right of the Ramen Shop, near Ikora Rey.
- He sells Exotic weapons, Exotic armor, Legendary weapons with random rolls, Exotic Catalysts, and Exotic Engrams.
- All purchases use Strange Coins — earned from Vanguard Ops, Crucible, Gambit, Trials, Iron Banner, and Onslaught.
- Xur has a reputation rank system — spending Strange Coins earns rank rewards including Ascendant Shards and Exotic Ciphers.
- Destiny 2 received its final live-service update on June 9, 2026 — but Xur still appears weekly, and the game remains playable long-term.
Where is Xur in Destiny 2 in 2026? He is permanently located at the Tower Bazaar. Bungie fixed his location as part of The Final Shape expansion. You no longer have to guess whether he is on Nessus, the EDZ, or the Tower. He is always in the same spot every single week.
Xur Tower Bazaar Location: Exact Spot
Xur stands in a narrow alleyway just to the right of the Ramen Shop in the Bazaar. The neon sign above the Ramen Shop is your landmark. Once you see it, Xur is right there.
Here is how to reach him step by step from the Tower Courtyard landing zone:
- Land at the Tower Courtyard landing zone.
- Turn right and walk past Banshee-44, the Gunsmith.
- Cross the bridge ahead of you.
- Take the stairs down and walk through the hallway.
- Turn left and keep walking straight.
- Just before the Ramen Shop, turn right, then right again.
- Xur is standing right there in the alley.

If Xur does not appear when you arrive, leave the Tower and come back. Some players report needing to switch characters or rejoin another player’s session to trigger his spawn.
Xur Schedule in Destiny 2: When Does He Appear?
Xur arrives every Friday at the weekly reset and leaves every Tuesday at the weekly reset.
- Arrives: Friday at 12 PM EST / 10 AM PDT / 5 PM GMT
- Leaves: Tuesday at 12 PM EST / 10 AM PDT / 5 PM GMT
His inventory refreshes every Friday when he returns. If it is Wednesday or Thursday, he is gone for the week. Come back on Friday.
Note: Destiny 2 received its final live-service content update on June 9, 2026. Bungie has confirmed the game stays playable long-term, similar to the original Destiny. Xur still appears every Friday as normal. Nothing changes for weekly visits.

What Does Xur Sell in Destiny 2?
Xur’s inventory rotates every week. Here is what he always stocks:
- Exotic Engram — decrypts into an Exotic you do not already own (costs 23 Strange Coins)
- Exotic Weapons — one or more Exotic weapons with random rolls (costs 23 Strange Coins each)
- Exotic Armor — one piece per class (Titan, Hunter, Warlock) with random rolls (costs 41 Strange Coins each)
- Exotic Catalysts — rotating selection (costs 71 Strange Coins each)
- Legendary Weapons — random rolls, changes weekly (good for chasing god rolls cheaply)
- Upgrade Materials — various items for 3 to 97 Strange Coins
Xur no longer sells Legendary armor. Focus on his Exotic Engram if you are trying to complete your collection — it avoids duplicates.
This week (June 12–16, 2026), Xur is selling a Hawkmoon roll with Fluted Barrel, Alloy Magazine, Moving Target, and Heavy Grip.
How to Get Strange Coins for Xur
Every purchase from Xur costs Strange Coins. Here is where to farm them:
- Crucible — 4 coins per win, 2 coins per loss. Fastest method per hour.
- Gambit — same payout as Crucible, 4 per win, 2 per loss.
- Vanguard Ops and Nightfalls — slower per match but reliable. Grandmaster Nightfalls give roughly 9 coins per clear (about 15 minutes with a good fireteam).
- Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner — also drop Strange Coins at end of match.
- Onslaught — drops coins during and after runs.
Dares of Eternity no longer drops Strange Coins. That source was removed.
Activate Strange Favor Before You Farm
Before farming Strange Coins, grab the Strange Favor buff from Xur’s “More Strange Offers” tab. It is free to pick up. Once you spend at least 47 Strange Coins total, the buff activates and gives you a chance at bonus coins with every drop. It lasts 11 days and stacks up to three times. Always activate it at the start of each weekend.
Xur Reputation Rank Rewards
Xur has his own reputation system. Every Strange Coin you spend at his shop adds to your rank bar. Ranking up earns you real rewards:
- Strange Engrams — contain random Legendary weapons and armor
- Enhancement Prisms
- Ascendant Shards
- Exotic Engrams at major ranks
- Exotic Cipher when you reset your rank (separate from the Xenology quest)
- Tier 3 Exotic Focusing access unlocked at certain milestones
Spend every Strange Coin you can when Xur is active. Do not sit on them. Every purchase builds your rank and gets you closer to Ascendant Shards and Exotic Ciphers.
Xur Xenology Quest: How to Get an Exotic Cipher
Pick up the Xenology quest from Xur every week. It is free. Complete ritual activities — Vanguard Ops missions, Crucible wins, or Gambit wins — to finish it. Return to Xur for an Exotic Cipher as a reward.
You can now stack up to five Exotic Ciphers at once. Use them at the Monument of Lost Lights kiosk in the Tower to purchase any vaulted Exotic weapon.
You cannot pick up a new Xenology quest if you already completed one this week. Wait for Friday’s reset.
Xur History: Why He Used to Move Every Week
Before The Final Shape launched, Xur rotated between three locations each week:
- Watcher’s Grave on Nessus — on top of a large crimson tree
- Winding Cove in the EDZ — near the coastal cliffs
- The Hangar at the Tower — inside the large hangar bay
Players had to check third-party sites every Friday to find him. Bungie removed the rotating system with The Final Shape. Now he is always in the same spot. Much easier.
If you are reading a guide that tells you to check Nessus or the EDZ — that information is outdated. Ignore it. Xur is at the Tower Bazaar every single week in 2026.
