Following Orders Toolbox Code – 214 (Mission 3)

Where Is the Toolbox?

As soon as Mission 3 (Following Orders) starts, head into the first house and go to the room on your right. Open the sliding cabinet doors inside and you’ll find a locked red toolbox with a three-digit keypad.

Enter 214 to open it. The code is hidden in a recipe note found in the kitchen of the same house. The recipe for Baekseolgi-Tteok lists ingredients including rice flour, salt, water, and raisins — but tells you to “skip the salt.” Remove the salt value from the list of numbers and the remaining digits give you 214.

You can also skip the code entirely and just shoot the padlock off — same result, no puzzle required.

What’s Inside?

The toolbox contains the Heart Medicine contraband item and a collectible note called Note From Your Friend. Both of these count toward the No Stone Unturned Silver achievement, which requires collecting all contraband and reading all notes in Following Orders.

Assassins Door Codes – 5523, 7632, 9103 (Mission 8)

Mission 8 (Assassins) has four keypad doors in total. The first code — 0919 — is given to you automatically by Lt. Ko as story dialogue and you can’t miss it. The other three need to be entered manually as you work through the palace escape as Supreme Leader Ri Seung-Ho.

First Door (Given Automatically): 0919

Ko reads this code to you during the opening section of the escape. Enter it when prompted to progress through the first locked door.

Library Door Code: 5523

After the boardroom section and Shin’s death, you reach the palace library. The exit door at the back of the library has a keypad. Enter 5523 to unlock it and continue through.

Kitchen Door Code: 7632

Past the library, you work through the kitchen section. The door leading toward the palace’s back garden has a keypad. Enter 7632 to get through and continue toward the lake.

Bunker Door Code: 9103

The final code in this mission. The bunker entrance is located behind a statue near the garden’s edge. Enter 9103 on the keypad and go inside. This triggers the bunker cutscene — one of the campaign’s biggest story moments — and ends the mission.

All Stranded Container and Bunker Codes (Mission 10)

Stranded is the campaign’s open-world mission and it has the most code locks — 8 in total across 6 shipping containers and 2 hidden bunkers. Each lock has a clipboard note nearby with a clue, but if you just want the answers, they’re all here.

Important: All Stranded codes are four digits. Always type all four digits, including any leading zeros. 0024, 0600, and 0008 will fail if you skip the zero at the start.

Base Camp Container – Code: 0024

Coordinates: 644, 158

Found near the radio tower at Base Camp. The nearby note lists previous codes 0006, 0012, and 0018. Each one increases by 6, so the next in the sequence is 0024.

Cliff Near Base Camp Container – Code: 0600

Coordinates: 646, 149

The note here lists 9300, 6400, and 3500. The first two digits drop by 3 each time, and the last two digits decrease by 1. Following the pattern gives 0600.

South of Jamming Station Container – Code: 8609

Coordinates: 667, 125

This is the trickiest Stranded code because each digit column follows its own pattern rather than moving together. Look at each digit position separately across the previous codes listed. The answer is 8609.

Southeast Village Container – Code: 0078

Coordinates: 652, 187

The note lists 0012, 0034, and 0056. Each step adds 22 to the number, so the next is 0078.

Big Sign Container – Code: 1234

Coordinates: 633, 139

The easiest one to figure out or remember. The note lists 1000, 1200, and 1230 — each entry adds another digit to the ascending sequence. The code is 1234.

Small Island Container – Code: 6789

Coordinates: 618, 132

The note shows sequences 3456, 4567, and 5678. Each group slides one digit forward. The next in the sequence is 6789. The keypad note itself is on top of the shipping container — climb up to read it.

Farm Field Hidden Bunker – Code: 0330

Coordinates: 631, 127

This one works differently. The code is derived from clearing all four Logistics Stations marked on the tactical map. Add the outpost values shown at each one: 10 + 20 + 100 + 200 = 0330. Complete all four stations, then enter the code.

Island Hidden Bunker – Code: 0008

Coordinates: 615, 169

This code comes from the Infantry Checkpoints along the river. Add the outpost numbers from the river checkpoints you’ve cleared — specifically checkpoints 1, 2, and 5 — and the sum gives 0008. This is one of the harder ones to solve without knowing it ahead of time.

Escape Safe Code – 8410 (Mission 13)

Where Is the Safe?

Mission 13 (Escape) has one safe. After leaving the barracks area, look for an unlocked room on the right side of the hallway. Inside that room, find a note on the bench — this is the Updated Code note, which gives you the combination. Then continue until Price and Ghost have a brief conversation about not leaving Gaz behind. That’s your cue. The safe is in a nearby barracks office with a wall-mounted keypad.

Code: 8410

Enter 8410 on the wall safe keypad. The safe opens to reveal Gaz’s Dogtags — a collectible tied directly to one of the campaign’s most emotional story beats following his death at The Archer’s hands.

What Does Opening It Unlock?

Collecting Gaz’s Dogtags triggers the Never Forgotten achievement — a Silver trophy that is easy to miss since the safe blends into the environment. The story moment it’s tied to makes it one of the more meaningful collectibles in the game. Which Codes Are Tied to Achievements?

Several of the campaign’s codes connect directly to trophy and achievement requirements. Here’s what matters for completion:

• 214 (Following Orders toolbox): Required for the No Stone Unturned Silver achievement — part of collecting all contraband and notes in the mission.
• 5523, 7632, 9103 (Assassins doors): Required to complete the mission at all. Also relevant if you’re going for the Pacifist Gold achievement — knowing these ahead of time helps you move faster through a stealth run.
• All 8 Stranded codes: Required for the Time to Crate Gold achievement — you need all 26 Yellow Supply Crates, and 8 are locked behind these keypads.
• 8410 (Escape safe): Required for the Never Forgotten Silver achievement — collecting Gaz’s Dogtags.

Tips for Using the Codes Efficiently

• Don’t overthink the toolbox in Following Orders. If you can’t be bothered with the puzzle, just shoot the padlock. Same result, zero effort. Just make sure you still grab the note inside for No Stone Unturned.
• Have the Assassins codes ready before a Pacifist run. On a one-kill-only run, fumbling with codes while trying to stay calm around guards adds unnecessary pressure. Know them before you start.
• Type leading zeros in Stranded. The keypads enter digit by digit. 0024 needs four button presses — 0, 0, 2, 4. Miss the first zero and the code won’t work.
• Do Stranded codes in any order. The mission is open world and has no time pressure outside of specific objectives. Work through the map at your own pace and grab each container when you pass through its area.
• Read the Updated Code note before the safe in Escape. The game gives you the 8410 code through the note naturally as you progress. If you miss the note, come back and find it — the code doesn’t change, but you need to grab Gaz’s Dogtags from the same run.
