    MW4 Boot Camp Event Overview

The Boot Camp Event tasks players with completing challenges across Campaign, Multiplayer, and DMZ to earn rewards. Completing all nine challenges unlocks the mastery reward — the Epic “F.N.G.” M4 Blueprint.

The Boot Camp Event began on Thursday, October 22, at 7 AM ET to coincide with the game’s New Zealand launch. It runs until November 6, 2026 — so you have about two weeks to get it all done.

The event is designed as a true introduction to the game. Each challenge points you at a different mode, so you’ll naturally experience Campaign, DMZ, and several Multiplayer modes along the way. Nothing here is especially difficult, but a few challenges need some explanation.

There are nine challenges in total. Here’s the full list:

    • Night Detail (Loading Screen) — Complete the Mayhem Campaign Mission
    • 30-Minute Double XP Token — Kill 20 enemies in DMZ
    • Hazard Ready (Epic Weapon Charm) — Reach DMZ Level 5
    • 30-Minute Double XP Token — Get 10 Operator Headshot Kills in Kill Block (Gunfight MP Mode)
    • Apex Predators (Rare Calling Card) — Get 20 Operator Kills with an Apex Attachment equipped
    • High Voltage (Epic Weapon Charm) — Get a Score of B or higher in the Intermediate Mobility Course in Proving Grounds
    • 30-Minute Double Weapon XP Token — Print 5 items with the 3D Printer in the DMZ FOB
    • 30-Minute Double Weapon XP Token — Get 5 Operator Kills using vehicles in Ground War: Combat Outpost
    • Eat Lead (Epic Spray) — Collect $100,000 in Inflation (MP Mode)

Mastery Reward: F.N.G. M4 Blueprint (Legendary)

Complete all nine challenges and you unlock the F.N.G. Legendary M4 Blueprint automatically. This gives you a ready-to-use M4 build with a custom skin and preset attachments for Multiplayer. In DMZ, blueprints bypass the Weapon Manual system, so you can equip and use the weapon immediately without unlocking it through normal progression.

How to Complete Each Boot Camp Challenge

Mayhem — Complete the Campaign Mission

Mayhem is the first mission in the MW4 Campaign. If you’ve touched the story at all, you’ve already done this. Boot up Campaign, play through Mayhem, and the reward unlocks automatically on completion. This one’s free progress for most players.

Looking to finish the whole campaign? The MW4 All Campaign Rewards guide covers every mission reward so you know what you’re unlocking as you go.

Lethal Operator — Kill 20 Enemies in DMZ

Head into any DMZ deployment and eliminate 20 AI enemies. This is very easy — a single deployment on a standard area will rack up kills fast. You don’t need to survive or extract; kills count regardless of what happens after. Just engage AI patrols and work through the counter.

New to DMZ? The MW4 DMZ Reactor DRC Locker Key guide shows how deep the DMZ loot system goes once you start progressing.

DMZ Upgrades — Reach DMZ Level 5

Play DMZ, complete missions, kill enemies, and extract loot to earn XP. Level 5 comes quickly just from normal play — a few solid deployments will get you there. If you want to speed it up, completing Story Missions rewards large XP and cash chunks.

For a full breakdown of what unlocks at each level, check the MW4 DMZ XP and All Level Unlocks guide.

Kill Block — Get 10 Operator Headshot Kills

Kill Block is the Westbridge Training Facility — a modular Multiplayer battleground featuring reconfiguring combat layouts. Designed as a live-fire training environment, Kill Block reconfigures between rounds, forcing players to reassess their strategies. At launch it runs 3v3 and 10v10 Gunfight.

For this challenge, aim for the head. Use a weapon you’re comfortable with, crouch to steady your aim, and go for consistent headshots. Kill Block teams swap sides after the first round before the layout and shared loadout change every two rounds — so adapt quickly and keep your aim up. Ten headshots across multiple matches is very manageable.

Apex Skills — Get 20 Operator Kills with an Apex Attachment

Apex Attachments are high-tier Prestige attachments unlocked through Weapon Prestige. You need to have Prestiged a weapon to access them. Once you have an Apex Attachment equipped on any weapon, get 20 Operator kills with it in any Multiplayer mode. Play a mode you’re comfortable in — Team Deathmatch or Frontline work well for raw kill accumulation.

Proving Grounds — Score B or Higher in the Intermediate Mobility Course

Proving Grounds is a dedicated training course that guides you through movement Tutorials and timed Courses. For this challenge you need to complete the Intermediate Mobility Course with a B grade or better.

The course tests your knowledge of MW4’s movement system — sprinting, sliding, mantling, and Tac Sprint. Practice the route a few times in Tutorial mode first to learn the layout before going for the timed run. A B grade is a solid middle-tier score, not a perfect run, so give yourself some margin for error and focus on smooth, fast movement rather than perfection.

Get Printing — Print 5 Items with the 3D Printer in the DMZ FOB

Head to your FOB before deploying into DMZ. The 3D Printer is a crafting station inside the FOB that lets you print consumables, gear, and other items using crafting materials you’ve looted. Print any five items — they don’t need to be specific types — and the challenge completes. Check the All FOB Stations in MW4 DMZ guide if you need help navigating FOB unlocks and upgrades first.

Combat Outpost — Get 5 Vehicle Kills

Combat Outpost reimagines Domination for Ground War, stretching the three-flag fight across a huge battleground at 32v32 for 20 minutes. Vehicles are central to Ground War matches. Jump in any available vehicle — trucks, APCs, and others spawn across the map — and run down or eliminate enemy Operators using it. Five kills is a low bar across a 20-minute match. Focus on areas where enemies cluster around Outpost objectives.

    Inflation — Collect $100,000

In Inflation, you eliminate enemies and collect their bounty of cash, but the more wealth you carry, the greater the target on your back. Players who reach the High Value Target threshold will have their position revealed to friends and foes alike, turning Inflation into a balance of hunting down enemy HVTs while protecting your own.

For this challenge you need to collect — not hold — $100,000 across a match or multiple matches. Progress is cumulative, so you don’t have to reach $100K at once. Play aggressively, pick off enemies for their cash drops, and let the counter build over time. Avoid holding huge sums at once if it makes you uncomfortable being an HVT — you can bank progress even after dying, as long as you’re collecting steadily each match.

Tips to Finish the Boot Camp Event Fast

    • Start with Mayhem — it’s the first Campaign mission and the fastest single challenge to knock off.
    • Knock out both DMZ challenges together. One deployment can get you kills and XP toward Level 5 at the same time. Use the 3D Printer at the FOB before you deploy to tick off the printing challenge too.
    • Proving Grounds is available as a standalone mode — go in with no pressure, learn the course first, then attempt the timed run.
    • Inflation progress stacks across matches. Don’t stress about getting $100K in one game — just play consistently.
    • The Apex Attachment challenge requires Weapon Prestige. If you haven’t Prestiged a weapon yet, prioritize grinding your favourite weapon first.
    • The event ends on November 6, 2026. You have two weeks — pace yourself and you’ll finish without rushing.
