It looks like an ordinary closed-up coffee shop, but there is a secret room inside. Cracking it open gives you a Health Upgrade, which is one of the most valuable pickups in the game. Downtown Atlantis Cafe Location in Control Resonant
The Atlantis Cafe with the appliance puzzle is in the Downtown zone, northwest of the Oldest House. It is only about one street away from the Oldest House entrance, so you might stumble across it while exploring Downtown.
The easiest way to find it is to look for the electronic road sign out front. It cycles through various messages and stands out from the quieter storefronts around it. From the Oldest House entrance, look to the right for the road-closed sign pointing to a detour. Use the Shift ability to float up past it. The Atlantis Cafe is directly ahead.
Important: You need the Shift traversal ability to reach this part of the map. Shift lets Dylan align with walls and folded surfaces to navigate. You unlock it from the West Incursion Zone Fault. If you have not been there yet, that is your first stop. This is one Secret Hideout you may have to come back to later in the game.
There are two Atlantis Cafe locations in Control Resonant. This guide is only for the Downtown one with the appliance puzzle. How to Solve the Atlantis Cafe Appliance Puzzle in Control Resonant
Once you are inside the cafe, there are three things to do before you start hitting switches.
Step 1 – Read the Shop Opening Instructions Note
Walk to the counter and pick up the note sitting next to the register. It is called Shop Opening Instructions. The note belongs to Becky, the shop owner, and describes her morning routine of turning on all the appliances.
The clue in the note is simple: activate the appliances starting from the smallest and ending with the largest. That is the rule. The tricky part is knowing which appliance counts as which size, and where each one is located in the room.
Step 2 – Flip the Electrical Breaker Box
Before you touch a single appliance, you need to restore power to the cafe. Find the electrical breaker box on the northeast side of the room, just on top of the sink area, and flip it on.
This is the step most players miss. Without flipping the breaker first, none of the appliances will respond when you interact with them. Nothing will happen and you will be standing there confused. Always flip the breaker before you start the sequence.
Step 3 – Activate the Six Appliances in Order
Now you are ready to solve the puzzle. The six appliances are spread around the room — some are on the customer side, most are behind the counter. If you interact with one out of order, the whole sequence resets and you have to start again from the radio. You do not need to flip the breaker again after a reset though.
Here is the correct order, from smallest to largest:
- Radio – Located on the west side of the room, on a shelf on the customer-facing side of the cafe. This is the only appliance not behind the counter.
- Coffee Machine – Located behind the counter, to the right of the refrigerator.
- White Coffee Brewer – Located behind the counter, between the refrigerator and the soda machine.
- Soda Machine – Located behind the counter, next to the white coffee brewer.
- Microwave – Located on the north side of the counter area, near the dishwashers.
- Refrigerator – Located on the south side of the counter. This is the largest appliance and the last one you activate.
The full sequence in short: Radio → Coffee Machine → White Coffee Brewer → Soda Machine → Microwave → Refrigerator.
When you activate the final appliance correctly, a section of wall near the electrical box begins to move. That sliding wall panel is the entrance to the secret room. If nothing happens, check that you hit all six in the right order and did not skip one.
Control Resonant Downtown Atlantis Cafe Secret Hideout Rewards
Follow the newly opened passage downstairs into the Secret Hideout. Search the room before you leave. There are five things to collect:
- Health Upgrade Point – Found at the ice cream stand inside the room. This is the main prize. Health Upgrades increase Dylan’s maximum health, making him much tougher in harder fights. There are only a handful across the whole game, so do not miss this one.
- Clarification Of Mandate – Collectible lore document.
- Surveillance Boredom – Collectible lore document.
- Report on Unidentified Female Subject – Collectible lore document.
- Report on 34 Thomas Street – Collectible lore document.
The four lore documents tie into the Secret Organization storyline that runs through the background of Control Resonant. If you are trying to piece together what this group is doing and who they are watching, these files add useful context.
Completing this hideout also counts toward the Backroom Espionage trophy and achievement, which requires you to find and open all six Secret Hideouts across the game world.

The Downtown Atlantis Cafe is one of six Secret Hideouts hidden across the game. Each has its own puzzle. Every single one rewards you with a Health Upgrade point and lore documents. Here is a quick overview of all six:
