How Armor Customization Works in Halo Campaign Evolved
For the first time ever in a Halo campaign, you can customise Master Chief’s look. Halo Campaign Evolved allows players to customise the look of Master Chief’s Mark V MJOLNIR armor for the first time within a campaign, along with various UNSC and Covenant weapons.
There are two types of cosmetics:
- Styles — change the pattern or colour coating on the base Mark V armor and weapons, similar to the coating system in Halo Infinite.
- Skins — full model swaps that change the overall look of Master Chief’s armor entirely.
Halo Studios’ Brian Jarrard has confirmed that there will be no in-game shop to buy cosmetics. Every skin you see has to be earned through an edition purchase, a promo code, or a limited-time event. Nothing can be bought with in-game currency.
How to Equip Armor Skins
Once you have unlocked a skin, equipping it is simple:
- Open the Customization menu from the main menu.
- Select Armor or Weapons.
- Navigate to the skin you want.
- Press A (Xbox), Cross / X (PS5), or left click (PC) to equip it.
Skins apply to both solo and co-op runs. Once equipped, they stay active until you change them.

Mark V (Default)
The standard green Mark V Mjolnir armor. Every player has this from the moment they boot the game. No unlock needed.
Silver Anniversary
A silver-toned variant of the classic Mark V. Mark V and Silver Anniversary are already sitting in your customization menu the moment you boot the campaign — no steps required.
25th Anniversary (Xbox)
Halo Studios announced that all Halo Campaign Evolved players will receive a custom Xbox 25th Anniversary Master Chief armor for free. The skin is inspired by the translucent Xbox Series X 25th Anniversary console and its matching controller. Sandstone Ancient (Promo Code)
This one was handed out by Halo Studios as a thank-you for playing during Early Access. It rewards a Spartan armor style and redeeming it unlocks the Sandstone Ancient style for your Spartan immediately, with no in-game task required beyond claiming it on your account.
To redeem it, you need a Halo Waypoint account linked to your Microsoft account. Head to the Drops & Code Redemption page on Halo Waypoint and enter the code. The skin appears in your customization menu straight away with no additional download needed.
Time-Limited Free Skins — Grab These Before They Expire
Two free skins are only available for a short window around launch. Do not miss these.
Fantastic Spartan — Fanta Promo (Ends July 30)
This bright orange skin comes from a Coca-Cola and Fanta brand promotion. To unlock it, you need to visit the Coca-Cola website, scan a QR code, and complete a puzzle that tasks you with unscrambling Forerunner Glyphs. Five glyphs need to be rotated so that they match the ones in the decoding box. Once the challenge is complete, you are taken to the next page to select your reward.
After completing the challenge, you receive a personal redemption code by email. Enter that code on Halo Waypoint to unlock the skin. This promotion closes July 30 — it is the most urgent one to grab.
Stream of the Crop — Twitch Drop (Ends August 4)
A clean Mark V armor style earned by watching Halo Campaign Evolved on Twitch. To earn it, your Twitch account must be connected to your Halo Waypoint account, and you need to watch for roughly two hours on a qualifying stream.
Steps to get it:
- Link your Twitch account to your Halo Waypoint account.
- Watch approximately 2 hours of Halo Campaign Evolved on a qualifying Twitch channel.
- Once earned, claim the reward from your Twitch Drops inventory.
- Head to Halo Waypoint or the in-game customization menu to equip it.
Reported qualifying channels include RealLifeSpartan, Eli_X, Reclximer, OathxX, Pedrogas, and EXTREMEBREAKER1 — but check the live list on Twitch’s official Drops page before you start, as eligible channels can update without notice. This drop closes August 4.
Pre-Order Exclusive — Foundry Armory Pack

- Splintered Warden — a vivid crystalline suit inspired by the Blamite crystals found on the Needler weapon.
- Lochagos — a Roman Spartan-inspired skin. The name is a play on words — “Lochagos” is an ancient Greek military rank, nodding to Halo Spartans’ discipline and honour.
- Mobile Armor Type 117 — a technical designation-style skin with a clean, utilitarian look.
- Gestalt — features the cobalt plating of the Hunters, complete with massive back spikes and wriggly orange worms connecting it together, casting a silhouette that looks almost exactly like a Hunter.
- Timberwolf — a rugged, earthy-toned skin with a distinct silhouette.

What About the Mark IV Armor?
The Mark IV armor only shows up during the Bonus Missions and is reportedly not something you unlock for general use, so do not expect it in your regular customization list. It appears on Master Chief during the Operation: METEORITE prequel missions as part of the story, but cannot be equipped as a selectable skin in the main campaign.
