One of the best things you can do early in Crimson Desert is unlock the Mineral Shop at Cairn House. It gives you a reliable supply of Iron Ore and Copper Ore — two materials you’ll constantly need for weapon and armor upgrades. The enemies guarding it are manageable even at the start of the game, and the payoff is well worth it.

Where Is The Mineral Shop In Crimson Desert
The Mineral Shop is located at Cairn House, just north of Hernand. To find it, head to Three Saints’ Falls — Cairn House sits right by the “T” in that label on your map.
Follow the river north through Three Saints’ Falls on foot. The building is easy to spot once you reach the area. You don’t need to complete any specific quest to go there — you can head straight to it as soon as you arrive in Hernand.
How To Unlock The Mineral Shop
When you arrive at Cairn House, you’ll find it overrun with Bleed Bandits. These enemies apply a bleed effect when they hit you, so try not to let them pile on.
The good news is that they’re not too tough, even in the early game. Fight through them one at a time if you can, and use food to keep your health up during the fight. Once every Bleed Bandit is dead, the territory returns to Hernand and the Mineral Shop opens just outside Cairn House. The vendor appears and you can start buying immediately.

Iron Ore is your top priority. Buy as much as you can on each visit. It’s the most consistently needed material throughout early and mid-game upgrades, and 18 Bronze Coins is a fair price for how useful it is. Copper Ore is slightly pricier but just as important. You’ll need it for alloy crafting and upgrading specific weapon tiers. It’s worth spending on early.
Garnet, Azurite, and Epidote are minerals used primarily for jewelry upgrades. At 2.50 Silver Coins each, they’re more expensive, so hold off on these until you actually need them for a specific recipe or gear socket.
How Often Does The Mineral Shop Restock
The Mineral Shop restocks every two to three in-game days. If you’ve cleaned it out and need more materials fast, sleep at a campfire or a bed to skip time forward. That forces the restock without having to wait or wander around.
This applies to both Cairn House and the second Mineral Shop at Karin Quarry (see below). Both shops refresh on the same timer system.
Second Mineral Shop — Karin Quarry
There’s a second Mineral Shop you can unlock at Karin Quarry, located northeast of Hernand. It works the same way — clear the enemies occupying the area and the shop opens up.
Having both shops unlocked means double the stock of Iron Ore on each restock cycle. If you’re pushing your gear upgrades hard, liberating Karin Quarry is worth doing right after Cairn House. Why You Should Unlock This Early
The Mineral Shop lets you push your gear to Level 4 before you even reach your first major boss encounter. That upgrade margin is significant — it affects both how much damage you deal and how many hits you can absorb.
The Bleed Bandits guarding Cairn House are one of the easier fights in Hernand. Clearing them early gives you a vendor you’ll keep coming back to for the rest of the Hernand chapter.

Tips For The Mineral Shop
- Buy Iron Ore every visit. You’ll never have too much of it. Contribution Points are separate from your coin budget, so spend Bronze freely on ore.
- Skip the gems early. Garnet, Azurite, and Epidote are for jewelry upgrades that come later. Don’t waste coins on them until you need a specific one.
- Sleep to restock. Use a campfire or bed to advance time and trigger the shop refresh faster.
- Grab the Palmar Pills Blueprint nearby. Head upstream (north) in Three Saints’ Falls. Look for a cave entrance on the left wall just below the “D” in “Hernand” on your map. Inside is the Blueprint and a cauldron to craft them.
- Also mine around Anvil Hill. Ore veins near Anvil Hill respawn regularly. Combine farming those with shop visits to stay stocked.
- Unlock Karin Quarry next. It’s northeast of Hernand and gives you a second source of the same materials on the same restock timer.
