MW4 DMZ How to Use the Supreme Leaders Bunker Access Card 1

The Supreme Leader’s Bunker is one of the most rewarding hidden spots in MW4 DMZ. It holds a guaranteed Legendary weapon chest and a bunch of other high-value loot. But you need a specific access card to get in — and you only get that card by completing a Story Mission.

Here’s exactly how to get the card and use it.

    • TL;DR
    • Complete Operation Iron Citadel to earn the Supreme Leader’s Bunker Access Card.
    • The bunker is inside Chang-san Air Base at grid B6.
    • The card is a one-time consumable — use it wisely.
    • Store it in a Secure Slot so you don’t lose it if you die.
    • Inside, there’s a chest with a guaranteed Legendary weapon plus more loot.

What Is the Supreme Leader’s Bunker Access Card in MW4 DMZ?

The Supreme Leader’s Bunker Access Card is a Legendary-rarity item in MW4 DMZ. It works like a key, but it’s specifically a card reader item — not a standard door key.

When you walk up to the bunker doors inside Chang-san Air Base, you’ll see a prompt that reads: “REQUIRES SUPREME LEADER’S BUNKER ACCESS CARD.” That’s the only way in. No other key, no workarounds.

The card is a single-use consumable. Once you use it to open the blast doors, it’s gone. So make the run count.

How to Get the Supreme Leader’s Bunker Access Card

You earn this card by completing Operation Iron Citadel, a Tier 2 Story Mission in MW4 DMZ. It’s one of the best story missions in the game — and one of the tougher ones.

This is a repeatable mission, so you can run it multiple times to get the card again. Each completion rewards you with the access card, the LTV infil vehicle unlock, and 25,000 DMZ Cash.

How to Unlock Operation Iron Citadel

Iron Citadel is a Tier 2 Story Mission. You can’t jump into it right away. You need to finish the three Tier 1 missions first:

    • Operation Critical Extraction
    • Operation Silent Ledger
    • Operation Shopping Hacks

Complete all three, and Iron Citadel unlocks automatically at the FOB Mission Board.

    Operation Iron Citadel: Quick Walkthrough

The mission takes place at Chang-san Air Base — one of the most dangerous spots on the Hajin map. The game rates it as Critical threat outside and Extreme threat inside the bunker.

Bring a 3-Plate Armor Vest, Medkit, and Ammo Box — the mission card recommends all three, and you’ll need them.

Here’s the objective chain in order:

    • Head to Chang-san Air Base and find the Airbase Access Card in one of the marked buildings.
    • Upgrade the Access Card at a marked server terminal while defending the area.
    • Enter the bunker and find the armory doors.
    • Collect three keycode fragments to build the six-digit armory code — this changes every match, so don’t rely on a video.
    • Enter the code at the armory keypad to open the doors.
    • Clear the armory — watch out for Commander Colossus in the corridor.
    • Grab the armory manifest.
    • Plant explosives in the armory and on three strike aircraft.
    • Capture the SAM site.
    • Exfil with the manifest to complete the mission.

Once you exfil successfully, the Supreme Leader’s Bunker Access Card is yours as a mission reward.

Supreme Leader’s Bunker Location in MW4 DMZ

The bunker is deep inside Chang-san Air Base, at map grid B6. This is in the western part of Hajin, in the former North Korean territory zone.

The area is rated Extreme threat once you go underground. Expect heavy AI resistance and possibly other player squads hunting the same loot.

Once you’re inside the Air Base:

    • Enter through the south-east doors marked ENTRANCE.
    • Take a right. You’ll see a locked door with “01” above it — press the button beside it to raise the shutters.
    • Look for a corridor marked with Korean lettering above the entrance and follow it.
    • Take the first right down that corridor.
    • Go down the stairs.
    • At the bottom, you’ll find the white blast doors with the card reader on the right side.

Interact with the card reader and use your Supreme Leader’s Bunker Access Card. The doors open.

Move fast. Other teams know this bunker exists, and the Extreme threat AI doesn’t help your situation either.

What’s Inside the Supreme Leader’s Bunker

This is what makes the whole run worth it. Inside, you’ll find:

    • A guaranteed Legendary weapon chest — it’s in the room to the right of the wall-mounted map, in the bedroom area, on the left side of the room.
    • Weapon lockers with randomized loot.
    • Other high-value items scattered around the bunker.

The guaranteed Legendary weapon is the main prize. It’s worth doing a full run just for that, especially early in a DMZ session when good weapons are hard to come by.

Tips Before You Run the Bunker

Store the Card in a Secure Slot

The access card is a Legendary item. If you die on the way to the bunker and it’s not in a Secure Slot, you lose it permanently. Put it in your Rare Backpack’s Secure Slot before you deploy. It’s the safest way to carry it.

The Card Is a One-Time Use

You can’t save it for later runs after you’ve used it. Once the blast doors open, the card is consumed. If you want to run the bunker again, you’ll need to replay Operation Iron Citadel to get another card.

Since the mission is repeatable, you can farm the card and run the bunker as many times as you want — just know it takes a full mission clear each time.

    Bring a Full Squad

Chang-san Air Base is brutal solo. The Extreme threat underground section has heavy AI, and the mission itself at the story level is rated Critical. Bring a squad if you can, and use your Operator Traits to stack useful combat perks.

Move Fast After Opening the Doors

Other players who know about the bunker will be watching. Once the blast doors open, the sound can alert nearby enemies. Loot quickly, prioritize the Legendary chest, and get to exfil.

If you’re playing as a solo operator, the MW4 Solo and Multiplayer Guide has useful tips for handling high-threat zones alone.

Is the Supreme Leader’s Bunker Worth Running?

Yes — if you have the access card and a solid squad, the bunker is one of the best guaranteed loot drops in MW4 DMZ. A Legendary weapon on every run is hard to beat, especially paired with the weapon lockers and extra valuables inside.

The effort to earn the card through Operation Iron Citadel is significant, but the mission itself pays well too — 25,000 DMZ Cash and an LTV infil unlock on top of the access card.

You can get MW4 on Steam, PlayStation Store, or the Xbox Store.
