Cryoculi are the elemental collectibles of Snezhnaya in Genshin Impact, equivalent to the Anemoculi of Mondstadt and the Geoculi of Liyue. There are 140 Cryoculus available in Version 7.0, spread across frozen plains, mountain peaks, caves, underground areas, and locations that only become accessible after completing World Quests. Every Cryoculus you collect can be offered to Snezhnaya’s Statues of the Seven to earn Primogems, Cryo Sigils, Acquaint Fates, Shrine of Depths Keys, and other rewards.
- Total Cryoculi in Version 7.0: 140
- Cryoculi needed to reach Statue Level 6 (maximum in 7.0): 125
- Five sub-regions: Volkodlak Tundra, Everfrozen Earth, Fellfrost Peak, Flamefeather Valley, White Birch Snowgrave
- Cryoculi are limited, do not respawn, and do not appear in chests
- A minimap icon and sound effect appear when a Cryoculus is nearby
- Completing the Archon Quest before farming is strongly recommended
- Use the official Genshin Impact Interactive Map to track collected and remaining Cryoculi
What Are Cryoculi Used For?
Cryoculi are offered to Snezhnaya’s Statues of the Seven. Raising the Statue level rewards Primogems, Cryo Sigils, Acquaint Fates, Shrine of Depths Keys, and other valuable items. Each Statue level also provides Adventure EXP, which converts to Mora for players who have reached Adventure Rank 60. You can offer Cryoculi at any Snezhnaya Statue of the Seven — they share the same pool regardless of which sub-region the Cryoculus was collected in.
There are 140 Cryoculus available in Version 7.0. These are only the Cryoculi found in the first released portion of Snezhnaya. More will be added as the nation expands in later Version 7.X updates. Early information suggests that the complete Snezhnaya region may eventually contain 271 Cryoculi total, but the final count should not be treated as confirmed until all areas are released.

How Many Cryoculi Per Sub-Region
The 140 Cryoculi in Version 7.0 are distributed across five named sub-regions of Snezhnaya. Based on confirmed data from Icy Veins and community sources, the breakdown is as follows.
- Everfrozen Earth: 55 Cryoculi — the largest concentration in Version 7.0, covering Snezhnograd, railway infrastructure, underground tunnels, and surrounding settlements
- Volkodlak Tundra: 22 Cryoculi — the large open area connecting Nod-Krai with the populated regions of Snezhnaya, including the area around the Chimeric Winged Lion boss
- Flamefeather Valley: varies — the warmer sub-region associated with Okurovo and the Leshies
- Fellfrost Peak: varies — the most vertically demanding sub-region, with Cryoculi on mountain peaks, ledges, ravines, and cave systems
- White Birch Snowgrave: varies — contains quest-locked Cryoculi behind Shadow Realm progression and tomb areas
For exact per-region totals beyond Everfrozen Earth and Volkodlak Tundra, refer to the interactive map where confirmed markers are available for each sub-region.
Cryoculus Locations in Volkodlak Tundra
Volkodlak Tundra contains 22 Cryoculi and is the first large open area players encounter when entering Snezhnaya from Nod-Krai. Many Cryoculi here are located above ground, but you should also check ruined railway structures, caves, cliffs, and areas unlocked through World Quests.
Key search locations in Volkodlak Tundra include the open snowfields, elevated cliff edges, ruined train structures, and the cave system near the Chimeric Winged Lion boss arena in the western portion of the tundra. If a Cryoculus marker appears on your minimap but you cannot see the collectible, check the vertical indicator — it may be high above you or inside an underground cave.
Cryoculus Locations in Everfrozen Earth
Everfrozen Earth contains 55 Cryoculi. It is recommended to complete the Archon Quest first before going out of your way to collect any Cryoculus. World Quests may also be required to obtain some of the Cryoculi in this area.
Everfrozen Earth has the highest Cryoculus density of any Version 7.0 sub-region. The area covers Snezhnograd and all surrounding infrastructure including the Central Station, Zapolyarny Palace, Glupov headquarters, Druzhna HQ, watchtowers, train tracks, underground caves, and hot springs. Many require creative traversal using Snezhnaya-specific mechanics.

Cryoculus Locations in Fellfrost Peak
Fellfrost Peak has some of the strongest vertical exploration in the first Snezhnaya expansion. Cryoculi can appear on mountain peaks, on narrow ledges, inside ravines, near historical structures, inside caves beneath the mountain, and around waterfalls and underground passages. Unlock as many Teleport Waypoints as possible before attempting a complete farming route.
Cryoculus Locations in Flamefeather Valley
Flamefeather Valley is a warmer and more colorful part of Snezhnaya associated with Okurovo and the Leshies. A significant portion of the area is connected to the In the Dwelling of Life World Quest chain, so completing that storyline first makes exploration much easier. Check the village, railway routes, caves, tall structures, and the areas surrounding the assembly hall.
Cryoculus Locations in White Birch Snowgrave
White Birch Snowgrave is one of the coldest Version 7.0 areas and contains several quest-related locations. Some Cryoculi are hidden behind underground routes, tomb areas, and Shadow Realm-related progression. If you still have missing Cryoculi after exploring the surface, complete the area’s major World Quests and then check the map again.
How to Find Missing Cryoculi
Once you have collected most of the Cryoculi and only a few remain, a targeted approach is faster than re-scanning the entire region. Compare your remaining locations with the interactive Cryoculus map and focus on markers you have not yet cleared.
The most commonly missed Cryoculi are inside underground caves, far above ground level, behind World Quest progression, inside hidden rooms, and in areas with several overlapping vertical layers. When a Cryoculus appears on your minimap but is not visible, always check the vertical indicator on the left side of the minimap — the white line shows whether the collectible is above or below your current elevation. A large gap between your position and the indicator means it is significantly higher or lower than it appears.
For Everfrozen Earth specifically, a number of Cryoculi require Snezhnaya-specific traversal mechanics: the Jack Frost snowball launch (used for several sky-high collectibles), the Link Mechanism Ice Constructs (used to reach elevated platforms and rooftops), Stellar Vortices (used for gaining height to glide to floating Cryoculi), and summoning your personal train on the rail network (used for several Cryoculi directly above the tracks). Make sure these mechanics are unlocked before attempting a farming run.
Cryo Treasure Compass
Snezhnaya does not use a separate Cryoculus Resonance Stone in the same way as several older regions. Instead, the upgraded Cryo Treasure Compass can assist with regional exploration and eventually help identify remaining objectives as your exploration percentage increases. The Cryo Treasure Compass is unlocked through Snezhnaya’s regional reputation and Meeting Point progression, so prioritise advancing through that system if you intend to use it for cleanup.

Statue of the Seven Level Requirements
The 140 Cryoculi available in Version 7.0 provide enough collectibles to raise Snezhnaya’s Statue of The Seven to Level 6 and make progress toward the next level. Reaching Level 6 requires 125 Cryoculi in total, leaving 15 extra from the first update for future progression. Levels above 6 require Cryoculi from future Snezhnaya expansions.
- Level 2: 20 Cryoculi
- Level 3: 22 Cryoculi
- Level 4: 25 Cryoculi
- Level 5: 28 Cryoculi

- Level 7: 32 Cryoculi (requires future expansion Cryoculi)

- Level 10: 40 Cryoculi

Snezhnaya Shrine of Depths Locations
Two Shrine of Depths Keys are available through Statue level rewards in Version 7.0 (at Levels 4 and 6). For a complete list of all Shrine of Depths locations in Snezhnaya and what chests they unlock, see the Snezhnaya Shrine of Depths locations guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many Cryoculi are in Genshin Impact Snezhnaya?
There are 140 Cryoculi available in Version 7.0 of Genshin Impact. These cover the first released portion of Snezhnaya only. More will be added in future Version 7.X updates as the region expands, with early data suggesting a potential eventual total of 271 across the complete nation.
What are Cryoculi used for in Genshin Impact?
Cryoculi are offered to Snezhnaya’s Statues of the Seven to raise their level. Each level awards 100 Primogems plus additional regional rewards including Cryo Sigils, Acquaint Fates, Shrine of Depths Keys, Memories of Piercing Cold, and Adventure EXP. Cryoculi cannot be used for anything else and do not trade or stack.
How many Cryoculi are needed to max the Statue in Version 7.0?
The maximum Statue level reachable with Version 7.0’s 140 Cryoculi is Level 6, which requires 125 Cryoculi in total. The remaining 15 Cryoculi from Version 7.0 carry over toward Level 7. Levels 7 through 10 require Cryoculi from future Snezhnaya expansions not yet released.
What is the easiest way to find missing Cryoculi in Snezhnaya?
Use the official Genshin Impact Interactive Map on HoYoLAB. Enable Cryoculus markers, select Snezhnaya, and tick off each collectible as you gather it. For the final few remaining, always check the minimap vertical indicator — most missed Cryoculi are in underground caves, floating high above ground level, or locked behind World Quest progression that has not been completed yet.
Which sub-region has the most Cryoculi in Snezhnaya?
Everfrozen Earth has the most, with 55 Cryoculi spread across Snezhnograd, its surrounding settlements, the Central Station, railway infrastructure, underground tunnels, and major buildings like Zapolyarny Palace and Glupov headquarters.
Do you need to complete quests to find all Cryoculi?
Yes, for some of them. Several Cryoculi across Flamefeather Valley, White Birch Snowgrave, and Everfrozen Earth are locked behind World Quest completion. In Flamefeather Valley, the In the Dwelling of Life quest chain unlocks access to parts of the area. In White Birch Snowgrave, Shadow Realm progression gates certain underground routes. Completing the Archon Quest first is recommended before attempting any full collection route.
