WoW Midnight Endgame Guide: What to Do After Hitting Level 90 (Season 2)

    By Sacheen · August 26, 2026 · 25 min read
    WoW Midnight Endgame
    • TL;DR
    • Max level in WoW Midnight is 90. Hitting it is the start — not the finish line.
    • First thing to do: Finish the Midnight campaign if you haven’t. It gates World Quests, Adventure Mode for alts, and several endgame systems.
    • Gear runs five tracks in Season 2: Adventurer → Veteran → Champion → Hero → Myth (max item level 334, with rare 344 drops).
    • Upgrades cost Mistcrests — Champion, Hero, and Myth types, each with a 100/week cap.
    • Your four main endgame pillars are: The Venomous Abyss raid, Mythic+ keys, Bountiful Delves, and Prey Hunts.
    • The magic weekly number for Mythic+ is +10 — that’s where Myth Mistcrests drop and the Great Vault hits its highest reward tier.
    • Do four Prey Hunts per week for maximum Preyseeker’s Journey progress. Nightmare difficulty unlocks at Rank 4.
    • Target Tier 8 Delves for the weekly Vault cap. Higher tiers add Mistcrests and Journey points but not higher Vault item level.
    • The Coiled Isle is the Season 2 outdoor hub — complete the Curse of Ula’tek campaign, start Zul’jarra’s Forces renown, and run the Vaults of Atal’Utek.

WoW Midnight Endgame: The Big Picture

WoW Midnight endgame guide — everything you need to know the moment you hit level 90. Reaching the cap opens a much larger game than the leveling experience prepared you for. Midnight raised the level ceiling from 80 to 90 and introduced new systems on top of the existing framework: Apex Talents, the Prey Hunting system, new Delves with Valeera Sanguinar, three raids, the Journeys progression tracks, and the Coiled Isle as the Season 2 outdoor hub. Several War Within systems — Warbands, Mythic+, crafting orders, the Great Vault — carry forward and still matter. The difference is in how they all fit together each week.

This guide covers everything to do at level 90 in WoW Midnight Season 2. Whether you want to raid at the highest level, push high Mythic+ keys, gear up through solo content, or do a bit of everything, the sections below give you a clear picture of where to spend your time and in what order. You can always check the official World of Warcraft website for the latest hotfixes, patch notes, and seasonal updates as Season 2 progresses.

Step One: Finish the Midnight Campaign

Before anything else, finish the Midnight main story campaign if you haven’t already. This is not optional — campaign completion is the gate that opens World Quests, renown tracks, and Adventure Mode for all your future alts. Without it, half the endgame map stays locked regardless of your item level.

When you hit 90 before the campaign wraps, head back to Silvermoon City and speak with Astalor Bloodsworn in Murder Row to pick up the quest “Feeding the Flame” and begin the War of Light and Shadow endgame continuation. The Sanctum of Light in Silvermoon’s city center functions as your primary hub from this point: the Scouting Map, zone portals, the Auction House, Crafting Order Clerks, and Astalor’s Prey System entrance are all here.

Once the campaign is complete, two more immediate tasks are worth doing before touching anything else. First, spend your Apex Talent points — finishing the full campaign unlocks your Hero Tree’s fourth talent lane and the Apex Talent slot. Second, opt into the Prey System by talking to Astalor — its weekly hunts are your fastest source of upgrade currency and Great Vault progress as a solo player.

Understanding the Season 2 Gear System

Before diving into specific activities, you need to understand how gearing works. The Season 2 gear system is built around five upgrade tracks and a currency called Mistcrests. Knowing which track you are on and which Mistcrest feeds it is the foundation for every good gearing decision you will make this season.

    The Five Gear Tracks

    • Adventurer: Item levels in the low-to-mid 260s. Comes from outdoor world quests, low-tier Delves, and basic outdoor rewards. Your starting gear category on a fresh character.
    • Veteran: Mid-to-high 260s. Comes from Normal dungeons, higher Delves, and basic Prey rewards. Bridge track between fresh and serious gearing.
    • Champion: 280–295 item level range. Comes from Heroic dungeons, Mythic 0, mid-tier Delves, Nightmare Prey, and the Coiled Isle catchup vendor. This is where real endgame gearing begins.
    • Hero: 308–321 item level. Comes from Heroic raid, Mythic+ keys at +4 and above, Tier 8+ Bountiful Delves, and the Great Vault at appropriate completion levels. The core Season 2 progression tier.
    • Myth: 318–334 item level. Comes from Mythic raid, Mythic+ keys at +9 and above, and the Great Vault at the highest completion levels. Rare endgame drops from Mythic raid final bosses can reach item level 344 — the absolute ceiling this season.

    Mistcrests — Your Upgrade Currency

Each gear track has its own Mistcrest type, capped at 100 per character per week:

    • Champion Mistcrests: Upgrade gear from item level 292 to 308. Drop from Mythic+ keys at +2 and above, Heroic dungeons, and mid-tier content.
    • Hero Mistcrests: Upgrade gear up to item level 321. Start dropping from Mythic+ at +4. The main currency for most active players through the season.
    • Myth Mistcrests: Push gear from 318 to 334. Start dropping at Mythic+ +9. The +10 key is the magic threshold — run at least one per week at this level to max your Myth Mistcrest income and hit the highest Great Vault reward tier.

Do not upgrade gear immediately after getting it. Always check your Great Vault first on reset day — a Vault item might fill the same slot at higher item level, and the Mistcrests saved are more valuable than upgrading a piece you might replace within the same week.

    The Great Vault WoW Midnight
    The Great Vault WoW Midnight

The Great Vault — Your Most Important Weekly Reward

The Great Vault is the single most impactful reward system in WoW Midnight Season 2. Once per week after the Tuesday (NA) / Wednesday (EU) reset, you choose one item from up to nine available slots — three from raid, three from Mythic+, and three from the combined World row (Delves and outdoor activities). The quality of each slot scales with what you completed that week.

    Great Vault Key Breakpoints

    • Mythic+ Dungeon row: Complete 1 key for 1 choice, 4 keys for 2 choices, 8 keys for 3 choices. Item level scales with key level. +10 keys unlock the highest published Vault tier — Myth 1/6 at item level 318.
    • Raid row: Kill 2 bosses for 1 choice, 5 bosses for 2 choices, 8 bosses for 3 choices. Item level scales with raid difficulty. Heroic clears grant base Mythic-quality loot in the Vault. Full Mythic progression rewards the highest Vault slots at item level 334.
    • World row: Complete 2 eligible activities for 1 choice, 4 for 2 choices, 8 for 3 choices. This row combines Delves and outdoor Prey/World Quest completions. Tier 8+ Delves and Nightmare Prey fill the highest-quality World row slots. Important: Do your highest-value World activities first before filling the row with easy low-level objectives — lower-value completions mixed in can lower the quality of later Vault choices.

Any Vault slot can offer a Season 2 tier-set item, including the Dungeon and World slots. This means your Vault is the most reliable source of tier-set pieces across the entire season — completing all three rows every week dramatically accelerates your tier set assembly.

The Venomous Abyss Raid — Season 2 Tier Set Source

The Venomous Abyss is the eight-boss Season 2 raid, located in the Vaults of Atal’Utek on the Coiled Isle. It opened on August 18, 2026 alongside Season 2, with Normal, Heroic, and Mythic all unlocking simultaneously. Raid Finder opened in four wings across August 18, August 25, September 1, and September 8.

Why Raiding Matters for Every Endgame Player

Even if you do not plan to push Mythic progression, running the Venomous Abyss on at least Heroic every week is worth your time for three reasons. First, tier-set gear drops here — your Season 2 tier set gives the most impactful power bonus available. Getting your 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses should be a top priority in the first weeks of the season. Second, Heroic clears provide base Mythic-quality Vault slots. Third, several boss drops are best-in-slot for specific classes before higher keys become available. If you are completely new to raiding in WoW Midnight, our Venomous Abyss Raid Guide covers every boss strategy in full detail.

    Weekly Raid Priority

Run the highest difficulty you can complete reliably each week. If you can clear Heroic, do Heroic — the Vault reward difference between Normal and Heroic is significant enough to always push for the harder version when your item level supports it. Once Normal becomes irrelevant for your gear level, drop it from your weekly routine entirely and focus those hours on Heroic or Mythic progression.

Mythic+ — The Gear Engine of Season 2

Mythic+ is the most flexible endgame activity in Season 2. It runs throughout the week, it feeds all three resource channels simultaneously (end-of-dungeon gear, Mistcrests, and Great Vault progress), and the eight-dungeon pool gives you variety across different nights. The key ladder ranges from +2 at the entry level to +12 and above for the highest-end pushes.

The Weekly Targets That Actually Matter

    • +4: Hero Mistcrests start dropping. A meaningful progression jump from the Champion track.
    • +7 to +8: Hero-track gear drops at end of dungeon. Great Vault starts rewarding Hero 4/6.
    • +9: Myth Mistcrests begin dropping. Great Vault gives Hero 2/6.
    • +10: The most important threshold in Season 2 Mythic+. Myth Mistcrests drop at end of dungeon, Great Vault rewards Myth 1/6 at 318 item level. Aim for this every single week across at least one key. Run 8 keys at this level and you fill all three Vault Dungeon row slots at maximum item level.

Keys above +12 award the same Mistcrests and Vault quality as a +10. Everything above that threshold is purely for Raider.IO score, seasonal rating rewards, and competition. The practical weekly plan for most players: reach +10, run 8 total keys, fill all three Vault slots. For a full breakdown of which dungeons to target and which are the most punishing, our Season 2 Mythic+ Dungeon Tier List and Best Comps guide ranks all eight dungeons by difficulty and covers the strongest group compositions for this season.

    Seasonal Rating Rewards

Season 2 Mythic+ has two major rating-gated mount rewards:

    • Breath of Blight: Earned at 2,000 Mythic+ rating.
    • Breath of Ruin: Earned at 3,000 Mythic+ rating.

Keystone Master (the title and dungeon portal rewards) requires a timed +10 in every dungeon. These are seasonal rewards — they are removed when Season 2 ends, so treat these as time-sensitive goals if they matter to you.

    WoW Midnight Delves
    WoW Midnight Delves

Delves — The Best Solo Gearing System

Delves are short instanced adventures (roughly 10–15 minutes each) designed for 1–5 players. They are the cleanest solo-friendly gearing path in WoW Midnight and the primary way players who avoid group content can access Hero-track Great Vault rewards. Your companion for Season 2 Delves is Valeera Sanguinar, who can be configured as a tank, healer, or DPS depending on what you need.

    Season 2 Delve Pool

The Season 2 Delve pool includes all existing Midnight Delves plus three new locations added with Patch 12.1 on the Coiled Isle:

    • The Ring of Glory — home of the Crushfoot encounter.
    • Gnarldor Isle — the second new Coiled Isle Delve.
    • Venomfall Deeps — the Season 2 Nemesis Delve, where players face Azta’rec as the seasonal challenge boss.

Existing Midnight Delves also received new serpent- and venom-themed variants with Season 2, giving familiar locations fresh visual dressing and new reasons to revisit them.

The Tier 8 Target — What You Are Working Toward

Tier 8 is the most important Delve milestone for the average player. Here is why: Tier 8 Bountiful Delves provide Champion 2/6 gear from the Bountiful Coffer, and the Great Vault World row slot from Tier 8+ progression reaches Hero 1/6 at item level 305. Tiers 9–11 add more Mistcrests, Gilded Stash access, and Delver’s Journey progress — but they do not raise the standard Vault World row ceiling above the Tier 8 cap. Tier 8 is where you farm. Tiers 9–11 are for players chasing the Nemesis challenge, specific season-long achievements, or the Delver’s Journey track rewards.

Bountiful Delves and Restored Coffer Keys

A Bountiful Delve is a specially highlighted Delve containing a locked Bountiful Coffer with stronger gear at the end. You need a Restored Coffer Key to open the Coffer — without the key, you can still complete the Delve, but you miss the main reward. Coffer Key Shards are earned through outdoor content, Prey Hunts, and weekly quests. Save your Restored Coffer Keys for Tier 8+ Bountiful Delves where the reward quality is highest. Spending keys on Tier 2 or 3 Delves early in the week is one of the most common gearing mistakes new players make.

    Valeera Setup Tips

Before running Tier 8+ Delves, complete the Seasonal Refresher: Midnight quest so Valeera’s full option set is available. For survivability on harder tiers, switch Valeera to tank role — this is especially important on squishy specs that struggle with the incoming damage at Tier 8 and above. Heal role works well when you are learning new Delve mechanics. Once you outgear a tier, switch to damage for faster clears.

    The Prey System WoW Midnight
    The Prey System WoW Midnight

The Prey System — Solo Hunting for Gear and Progression

The Prey System is WoW Midnight’s largest original open-world endgame addition. It is a solo hunting system where you track elite quarry targets across Midnight zones, pursue them, and defeat them in extended encounters that play out like personal boss fights. It provides gear, upgrade currency, Great Vault progress, and exclusive cosmetic rewards through its own seasonal progression track — the Preyseeker’s Journey.

    How a Prey Hunt Works

Prey Hunts are fueled by Anguish, gathered passively through outdoor activities — World Quests, treasures, rare enemies, traps, and Coalesced Anguish spawns. Once you have enough Anguish, your target appears. Bring it to 50% health and it flees, leaving a blood-mist trail. Follow the trail and land the final blow to complete the hunt. The entire experience plays out in the open world — no dungeon loading screen, no group required for Normal and Hard.

    Three Difficulty Tiers

    • Normal: Entry level. Friendly to casual outdoor play and available even while still gearing up. Rewards Adventurer and Veteran track gear, Coffer Key Shards, and Preyseeker’s Journey progress.
    • Hard: Adds the Torment affix — your damage taken increases by 2% per stack as time passes, making longer fights progressively more dangerous. Dying reduces hunt progress. Seeping Gore can appear beneath you, forcing movement. Rewards jump to Champion-track gear and higher Dawncrest drops.
    • Nightmare: The hardest tier and the only one restricted to solo play — no groups allowed at any point. All Hard affixes apply, plus Echo of Predation (stalking spirits continuously attacking you) and Bloody Command (kill an enemy or take damage). Requires a strict 6-minute timer. At the 3-minute mark, your quarry enters Void Rage, increasing its auto-attack damage by 50%. Rewards Hero-track Great Vault slots and drops Voidcore components for the Voidforge.

Nightmare difficulty unlocks at Rank 4 of the Preyseeker’s Journey, after completing the Dark Mending questline from Astalor.

    Weekly Prey Routine

Do four Prey Hunts per week — that is the threshold for maximum Preyseeker’s Journey progress. After four hunts, the progression slows significantly and your time is better spent elsewhere. You can run up to 12 hunts per week across all four Midnight zones (one per difficulty per zone), but the diminishing returns past four make that level of grinding inefficient for most players. Current hunts in Season 2 award Remnants of Anguish, Coffer Key Shards, Mistcrests, and Journey progress directly — spend Remnants of Anguish at the Construct vendor in Astalor’s Sanctum for mounts, transmog, and housing decor.

    Season 2 Coiled Isle Prey — Ral’kala

Season 2 added four new snake-themed Prey Hunts on the Coiled Isle, plus a new Prey boss: Ral’kala. To summon Ral’kala, you either need to be mid-Nightmare Hunt on the Coiled Isle or have unlocked the “Curse of the Isle” mode. The Curse of the Isle questline starts with Astalor in Silvermoon and requires completing one of the four new Coiled Isle Prey Hunts on Nightmare difficulty, as well as completing the Curse of Ula’tek campaign up to Chapter 2. Defeating Ral’kala has a chance to drop the Hexflame Reaver Mount, Pale Hexcaler Companion Pet, and Prehunter’s Masquerade toy.

The Coiled Isle — Season 2 Outdoor Hub

The Coiled Isle is the new outdoor zone added in Patch 12.1, located off the eastern coast of Zul’Aman. It is a repeatable max-level hub rather than a one-time campaign map, designed to give players reasons to come back every week. It opened with the patch preparation week on August 11 and has been the center of Season 2 outdoor content since August 18.

What to Do on the Coiled Isle

    • Zul’jarra’s Forces Renown: The Season 2 faction, earned through world quests, daily quests from the Vaults of Atal’Utek, rares, and Coiled Isle activities. Each Renown level requires 2,500 reputation and progresses account-wide. Reaching Renown Level 9 unlocks the Cursebreaker’s Bracers — a free Champion-track item for your armor type, making it one of the easiest upgrades available for players who are still in the early gearing phase. Higher renown levels unlock mounts, cosmetics, housing decor, and profession recipes. If crafting is a priority for you, unlocking Zul’jarra renown as early as possible feeds new recipes into your profession system directly.
    • Vaults of Atal’Utek: The new repeatable world activity. Collect Corrosive Power inside the Vaults and use it to push back the Children of Ula’tek. Daily quests from multiple NPCs inside the Vaults each provide 50 reputation with Zul’jarra’s Forces, making this the most efficient daily reputation activity on the island.
    • Coiled Isle Rares: New rare enemies with a chance to drop mounts, transmog pieces, and housing decor. Some are tied to exploration achievements with seasonal mount rewards.
    • Daily Quest — Prey: Anguish from Beyond: Available from Sanctum Attendant Ethrandil and rewards 100 Ossified Relics per completion. A reliable daily income source for Ral’kala summoning materials.

    The Tidebound Grotto Lair

Season 2 introduced Lairs as a new flexible-difficulty world activity. The Tidebound Grotto opened on August 11 at World difficulty, with flexible-difficulty Lair versions unlocking August 18 alongside the full season. Lairs sit between world bosses and proper raid content in terms of difficulty and reward quality. They provide Champion and Hero-track gear and contribute to Great Vault World row progress. The Tidebound Grotto is available at multiple difficulty levels, making it accessible for players who are still gearing up while remaining rewarding for players who outpace its standard version.

PvP — Rated Content for Seasonal Rewards

If PvP is your preferred activity, Season 2 opened rated content on August 18. The headline PvP seasonal reward is the Venomous Gladiator’s Goredrake — earned through 50 qualifying 3v3 wins while at Elite rating. The PvP Elite armor set unlocks at 1800 rating. Both rewards are removed when Season 2 ends, making these the most time-sensitive endgame goals in the game for PvP players. Training Grounds Arenas opened during the August 11 prep week, giving players a chance to warm up their rated play before the full season launched.

    Professions and Crafting Orders

Professions in Season 2 remain a strong supplemental gearing and gold-making system. Crafted gear continues to provide targeted item slot upgrades at competitive item levels, particularly early in the season when specific slots are hard to fill through RNG drops. The Auction House in Silvermoon’s Market District and the Crafting Order Clerks in the Sanctum of Light basement are your two main access points.

Season 2 added new profession recipes unlocked through the Zul’jarra’s Forces renown track. Progress your Coiled Isle reputation before grinding specific crafts — the recipe unlocks from renown are some of the most impactful new craftables this season. A one-time Profession Knowledge reset window also opened at the Season 2 launch — if your knowledge points are invested suboptimally, this is the window to fix that.

Player Housing — Long-Term Endgame Progression

Player Housing is a permanent evergreen system that runs alongside all other endgame activities. The unlock costs 1,000 gold and takes about 15 minutes to complete. Once you have your plot, the Housing endgame is built around collecting decor, leveling your House Level, participating in monthly Neighborhood Endeavors for Community Coupons, and building toward the best-looking home you can create.

Housing rewards are also tied to your main endgame content. Mythic+ dungeon clears drop Housing Trophies alongside your normal gear rolls. Raid clears, Prey Hunts, and Delves all have housing decor tied to them through various achievement and reward systems. If you are not touching housing yet, you are missing a passive decor reward stream every time you run your weekly content. For everything you need to know about the housing system, the WoW Player Housing complete guide covers unlocking, decorating, the new Blueprints system, and how to level your house efficiently.

Your Full Season 2 Weekly Checklist

Here is the recommended order of operations for every weekly reset. The goal is not to complete everything — it is to complete the content that gives your character the greatest chance of meaningful upgrades before the next reset.

    First Thing Every Reset

    • Open your Great Vault and choose your reward carefully. Compare it to every slot you are looking to upgrade before deciding.
    • Check your Mistcrest caps and plan which upgrades to spend on — wait until after major content this week in case a direct upgrade drops.
    • Pick up weekly quests from Silvermoon and the Coiled Isle before starting world content so progress counts immediately.

    Raid Week

    • Clear The Venomous Abyss on the highest difficulty you can reliably complete. Kill at least 8 bosses to unlock all three Vault raid slots. If you can clear Normal and Heroic in the same week, do both — the lockouts allow it.
    • Prioritize boss kills where your tier-set pieces drop. Finishing your 2-piece and 4-piece set bonuses is the single biggest power increase available this season.

    Mythic+ Week

    • Complete at least 8 Mythic+ keys at +10 to fill all three Vault Dungeon row slots at maximum item level.
    • Earn your weekly 100 Myth Mistcrests from +10 key completions.
    • If rating goals matter to you, track your progress toward 2,000 (Breath of Blight) and 3,000 (Breath of Ruin) and plan how many keys per week you need to hit each milestone before Season 2 ends.

    Delves Week

    • Complete Tier 8 Bountiful Delves using your Restored Coffer Keys. Use keys here — not on lower tiers.
    • Complete enough Delves to fill your World row Great Vault slots — 2 activities for 1 slot, 4 for 2 slots, 8 for 3 slots. Do your highest-value activities first to protect the Vault item quality.
    • Advance your Delver’s Journey every week. Journey progress is Warband-wide — any character’s Delve runs count toward the same account progression track. Rank 10 takes roughly three weeks on one character; with multiple alts contributing, it goes faster.

    Prey Week

    • Complete four Prey Hunts at the highest difficulty you can clear reliably. Four hunts is the maximum efficiency threshold for Preyseeker’s Journey progress.
    • On the Coiled Isle, complete the daily Prey: Anguish From Beyond quest from Sanctum Attendant Ethrandil for 100 Ossified Relics.
    • If you have unlocked Journey Rank 4, run at least one Nightmare Hunt for the Hero-track Great Vault contribution and Voidcore materials.

    Coiled Isle and Reputation

    • Complete the Coiled Isle daily quests in the Vaults of Atal’Utek for 50 Zul’jarra’s Forces reputation each.
    • Kill Coiled Isle rares for a chance at mounts, transmog, and housing decor drops.
    • When your Zul’jarra’s Forces Renown increases, visit Jan’sari the Watchful at Tokka’s Landing to check newly unlocked rewards and recipe unlocks.

    Catalyst and Voidforge

    • Check your Catalyst charges — the Catalyst converts eligible Season 2 armor into class-set pieces. Do not convert weak temporary armor just because a charge is available. Convert the highest item level piece you own that would complete or advance your tier set bonus.
    • Use Voidforge bonus rolls (Nebulous Voidcores) selectively on bosses where a specific best-in-slot item can drop. Voidcore bonus roll loot always matches Great Vault item quality for raid participants. Starting in Week 8 of the season, Orin Straylight grants a free weekly Voidcore — note that date.

The Best Gearing Path for Different Playstyles

Not everyone runs the same content. Here is the optimal gearing path based on how you actually play.

    Raider First

Prioritize The Venomous Abyss every week and fill your Great Vault raid slots. Push toward Heroic first, then Mythic if your guild supports it. Supplement with Mythic+ to hit the +10 weekly Vault threshold alongside raiding — the two systems feed each other efficiently. Use the Catalyst to convert your highest item-level gear into tier-set pieces as your raid drops align.

    Mythic+ Pusher

Your main loop is completing 8 keys per week at the highest level you can manage, targeting the +10 Vault floor and working up from there for rating. Add enough raid bosses each week to fill the Vault raid row — even two Normal bosses give you one Vault slot, and Heroic kills at five and eight bosses provide progressively better options. Delves fill your World row efficiently without demanding much additional time.

    Solo or Casual Player

Your core loop is Tier 8 Bountiful Delves + four Prey Hunts per week + Coiled Isle activities + Great Vault World row. This path can reach Hero-track gear and a Hero 1/6 Great Vault slot entirely through solo content. The Tidebound Grotto Lair at accessible difficulty adds more variety. Normal and Heroic LFR give you raiding experience without needing a guild. The Weekly Vault and Mistcrest system still reward consistent solo play — you just climb the gear ladder at a steadier pace. For a bigger picture on whether WoW Midnight is worth playing at your pace, the honest WoW 2026 review addresses exactly that question.

Long-Term Goals to Keep Track Of

Beyond the weekly loop, Season 2 has several time-sensitive goals that require consistent progress over multiple weeks. These are worth tracking from day one so you do not miss them before the season ends.

    • Ahead of the Curve: Ula’tek — Complete the Venomous Abyss on Heroic before it becomes Feat of Strength. The most accessible prestige achievement for non-Mythic raiders.
    • Keystone Master — Time a +10 in every Season 2 dungeon. Unlocks the portal to each dungeon and a seasonal title. Removed when Season 2 ends.
    • 2,000 Mythic+ Rating (Breath of Blight mount) and 3,000 Rating (Breath of Ruin mount) — Seasonal mounts tied to M+ rating. Start working toward 2,000 early if mounts are your goal.
    • Elite PvP Armor Set (1,800 PvP rating) — Removed when Season 2 ends. The most commonly missed seasonal reward.
    • Delver’s Journey Rank 10 — The full progression track for Delves. Rewards several powerful items, the Corroded Soul Crusher mount, and vendor unlocks. Plan on roughly three weeks per character, accelerated by running multiple Warband alts.
    • Preyseeker’s Journey — The Prey seasonal track. Plan four hunts per week consistently and you will progress through the ranks steadily across the season.
    • Apophic Soul Crusher Mount — Tied to defeating Azta’rec solo in the Venomfall Deeps Nemesis Delve on the required difficulty. A season-long solo project — start progressing your gear and Delve tier now.

    Tips for Playing Multiple Characters

The Warband system carries over from The War Within and remains important in Midnight. Several progression systems are Warband-wide — meaning progress from any character on your account feeds the same account-level track:

    • Delver’s Journey — Warband-bound. Every keyed Bountiful Coffer opened on any character advances the same track. Running two or three alts through Tier 8 Delves per week dramatically accelerates Rank 10.
    • Zul’jarra’s Forces Reputation — Account-wide renown. Every character you run Coiled Isle content on feeds the same track.

If you are playing alts this season, use Adventure Mode (unlocked by finishing the campaign on your main) to skip the full Midnight storyline on subsequent characters. Alts can also benefit from the Coiled Isle catchup vendor for Champion-track gear once your main has established enough renown with Zul’jarra’s Forces.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the max level in WoW Midnight?

The max level cap in WoW Midnight is 90. The expansion levels you from 78 to 90 through its main campaign, with total XP needed from 80 to 90 sitting at approximately 4,963,065. Flight is available by default via Skyriding the moment you can fly — there is no Pathfinder meta-achievement to grind.

What should I do first after hitting level 90?

Finish the main Midnight campaign. Then spend your Apex Talent points (the campaign unlocks your Hero Tree’s fourth lane and the Apex Talent slot). Then talk to Magister Astalor Bloodsworn in Murder Row to opt into the Prey System. Then unlock your Player Housing plot in Silvermoon for 1,000 gold. After that, start the standard endgame loop.

How do I get Hero-track gear as a solo player?

Complete Tier 8 Bountiful Delves with Restored Coffer Keys, complete four Nightmare Prey Hunts per week, and fill all three Great Vault World row slots with your highest-value activities. This path consistently provides Hero 1/6 Great Vault rewards and Champion-track end-of-run gear without requiring any group content.

What is the best weekly Mythic+ target?

Aim for +10 keys. That is where Myth Mistcrests start dropping from the end-of-dungeon chest and where the Great Vault rewards Myth 1/6 at item level 318. Run eight keys at that level and you fill all three Vault Dungeon row slots at maximum item level. For spec-specific dungeon advice, the Season 2 DPS Tier List covers which specs perform best across the current key pool.

Is the Prey System worth doing every week?

Yes, especially if you enjoy solo outdoor content. Four Prey Hunts per week is the maximum efficiency threshold for Preyseeker’s Journey progress. At Hard and Nightmare difficulty, Prey Hunts provide Champion and Hero-track gear, Mistcrests, Coffer Key Shards, and Great Vault World row progress — all from solo content that takes roughly 15–20 minutes per hunt.

What is the Coiled Isle and do I need to go there?

The Coiled Isle is the Season 2 outdoor hub added in Patch 12.1. Yes, you should go there. It is the location of the Zul’jarra’s Forces faction (with gear and profession recipe rewards at early renown levels), new Coiled Isle Delves, rare enemies with mount drops, the Season 2 Prey hunts including the Ral’kala boss encounter, and the story continuation of the Curse of Ula’tek campaign. The portal is available from Silvermoon once you have progressed through the Patch 12.1 campaign quests.

Which class should I play for Season 2 endgame?

The full answer depends on your preferred content. For a complete breakdown of every spec ranked for both Mythic+ and The Venomous Abyss raid, the Season 2 DPS Tier List for Raids and Mythic+ covers everything. If you are a new player still choosing a class, our WoW Midnight Starter Pack covers the best race and class combinations for getting started strong.
