- TL;DR
- WoW resets every Tuesday at 3 PM PST (NA) and Wednesday at 4 AM UTC (EU).
- First thing after reset: open your Great Vault and compare every slot before choosing.
- Core weekly targets: 8+ The Venomous Abyss boss kills, 8 Mythic+ keys at +10, 4 Prey Hunts, Tier 8 Bountiful Delves, Coiled Isle dailies.
- Never spend Catalyst charges or Mistcrests before opening the Vault — you might replace the slot with a free upgrade.
- The World row of the Great Vault is filled by Delves, Prey Hunts, weekly quests, and Coiled Isle activities — do your highest-value activities first.
- Run 4 Prey Hunts per week. After 4, progression drops sharply — spend the time elsewhere.
- Use Restored Coffer Keys only on Tier 8+ Bountiful Delves. Wasting them on low tiers is the most common early-season mistake.
- Housing Endeavors run monthly — check the Neighborhood tab and complete tasks every week so you don’t hit the Endeavor end without your Coupons capped.
How to Use This Checklist
WoW Midnight Weekly To-Do Checklist for Season 2 — this is everything you need to do each week, organized by priority. Season 2 gives you more weekly activities than any previous season of Midnight, but the best routine is not the longest one. It is the one that gives your character the greatest chance of meaningful upgrades before the next reset. Everything in this list is ordered: do the high-impact tasks first, fill in the rest based on your available time.
Reset happens every Tuesday at 3 PM PST for NA servers and every Wednesday at 4 AM UTC for EU servers. The moment the reset fires, your lockouts clear, your Vault is ready, your Coffer Keys refresh, and your weekly quests reset. The first 10 minutes after reset are the most important planning window of the whole week.
This checklist covers Season 2 as it runs in Patch 12.1 “Curse of Ula’tek,” which launched August 11, 2026, with the full season opening August 18, 2026. If you are new to the expansion and still working toward max level, our WoW Midnight endgame guide for hitting level 90 explains how all these systems fit together from the very beginning. You can also check the official World of Warcraft site for any mid-week hotfixes or tuning changes that might affect your priorities.
Immediately After Reset — First 10 Minutes
These three tasks happen before you touch any content. Do them in order every single week.
1. Open the Great Vault
Your Great Vault is the single most impactful reward of the week. Log in, press the H key or navigate to the Vault UI, and look at every available slot before choosing. A few rules that save a lot of wasted resources:
- Never pick the first item just because it has the highest item level number. Check the secondary stats, the slot, and whether it is a tier-set piece.
- A tier-set piece from the Vault is almost always better than a higher item-level non-tier piece — the set bonus power more than compensates the item level gap in most cases.
- Any Vault slot (Raid, Dungeon, or World row) can offer a Season 2 tier-set item. Check all three rows before deciding.
- Do not close the Vault without choosing. Unclaimed Vault rewards disappear at the next reset.
2. Check Weekly Quests and Assignments
Pick up every active weekly quest from Silvermoon City (the Sanctum of Light hub) and the Coiled Isle before starting any content. Weekly quests and Assignments count toward your World row Great Vault progress. Starting content before picking them up means you might complete qualifying activities without getting the credit. It takes two minutes and saves you from repeating content later.
3. Review Mistcrests and Plan Upgrades
Open your currency tab and check your Mistcrest balances. The cap is 100 per Mistcrest type per week. If you ended last week close to the cap on one type, plan your first activities to avoid generating overflow. Overflow Mistcrests are simply lost — you cannot bank above the cap. Also resist the urge to immediately spend Mistcrests on upgrades right after reset. Wait until after your major weekly content — raid, Vault, and dungeon runs — in case something better drops into the slot you were about to upgrade.

Priority 1 — The Venomous Abyss Raid
The Venomous Abyss is the eight-boss Season 2 raid. Clear it at the highest difficulty you can reliably complete each week. This is your most important activity for two reasons: tier-set pieces drop here, and Heroic clears feed Myth-track Vault slots at the next reset.
Great Vault Raid Breakpoints
- Kill 2 bosses: 1 Vault raid choice unlocked.
- Kill 5 bosses: 2 Vault raid choices unlocked.
- Kill 8 bosses: 3 Vault raid choices unlocked — the weekly target for most players.
Kill at least 8 bosses every week. If you only have time for one raid difficulty, choose the highest one available to you. The Vault item quality difference between Normal and Heroic is significant, and between Heroic and Mythic it is even larger. In Season 2, Heroic clears feed base Mythic-quality Vault slots. Full Mythic progression unlocks the maximum Vault reward at item level 334.
Tier Set Priority
Track which bosses drop your tier-set pieces and prioritize those kills each week. Your 2-piece set bonus is the single biggest power increase available in Season 2. Getting it within the first two or three weeks dramatically accelerates your overall performance across every activity. For a full boss-by-boss breakdown of what drops where, the Venomous Abyss Raid Guide covers every encounter in detail.
Raid Finder
Raid Finder opened in four wings: Wing 1 (August 18), Wing 2 (August 25), Wing 3 (September 1), Wing 4 (September 8). If you do not raid with a guild, LFR is worth running for normal-track loot and tier-set eligibility from the Vault, even at its lower item level. Story Mode also opened August 25 for players who want to experience the narrative without combat mechanics.
Priority 2 — Mythic+ Keys
Mythic+ is the most flexible endgame system because it runs all week with no lockout. You can run as many keys as you want — the only limit is time. The weekly Great Vault Dungeon row has three breakpoints:
- Complete 1 key: 1 Vault dungeon choice.
- Complete 4 keys: 2 Vault dungeon choices.
- Complete 8 keys: 3 Vault dungeon choices — the weekly target.
The +10 Rule
Run at least your weekly 8 keys at +10 or higher. At +10: Myth Mistcrests start dropping from the end-of-dungeon chest, and the Vault rewards Myth 1/6 at item level 318. Keys above +12 award the same Mistcrests and Vault quality as a +10 — higher keys are for Raider.IO score and rating rewards, not additional gear value. If 8 keys at +10 is unrealistic this week, complete at least 1 key at +10 for one strong Vault slot, then fill the remaining 3 or 7 completions at the highest level you can manage.
Mistcrest Key Breakpoints
- +2 to +3: Champion Mistcrests drop.
- +4: Hero Mistcrests begin. First meaningful progression jump.
- +9: Myth Mistcrests begin.
- +10: Maximum weekly Vault reward unlocked. The target for most active players.
Season 2 Rating Goals
Season 2 Mythic+ has two mount rewards gated behind rating milestones. Track your progress each week and plan how many keys per week you need to hit each before the season ends:
- 2,000 rating: Breath of Blight mount.
- 3,000 rating: Breath of Ruin mount.
Keystone Master (seasonal title and individual dungeon portals) requires a timed +10 in every dungeon. These rewards are removed when Season 2 ends — treat them as time-sensitive goals from week one. For the full breakdown of which dungeons to push in Season 2, including difficulty rankings and best comps, the Season 2 Mythic+ Dungeon Tier List guide covers every key in the current pool.
Priority 3 — Bountiful Delves
Delves are short instanced runs (10–15 minutes) you can complete solo or with up to four others. They are the primary solo-friendly gearing path and fill the World row of your Great Vault alongside Prey Hunts and outdoor activities. Your companion is Valeera Sanguinar — configure her as tank, healer, or DPS based on your spec and the Delve tier you are running.
Weekly Delve Targets
- Reach Tier 8: The standard weekly farm target. Tier 8 Bountiful Coffers drop Champion 2/6 gear, and Tier 8+ Great Vault slots reach Hero 1/6 at item level 305. This is the World row ceiling for most players.
- Use Restored Coffer Keys at Tier 8 only: Spending Coffer Keys on lower tiers is the most common Delve mistake. Always spend keys at the highest tier you can complete. Keys below Tier 8 give you worse Coffer gear for the same key cost.
- Complete enough Delves to fill the World row: You need 2 eligible activities for 1 World Vault slot, 4 for 2 slots, and 8 for all 3 slots. Delves count as high-value World row activities. Run your Delves before filling remaining World row spots with lower-value outdoor content.
Tiers 9–11
Running Tiers 9–11 adds Mistcrests, Gilded Stash rewards, and Delver’s Journey progress — but it does not raise the standard Vault World row item level above the Tier 8 cap. Run higher tiers if you are chasing the Delver’s Journey track rewards, the Apophic Soul Crusher mount from the Azta’rec Nemesis challenge, or specific Gilded Stash cosmetic items. Otherwise, Tier 8 is the efficient weekly stop.
Delver’s Journey Progress
The Delver’s Journey is Warband-wide — progress from every character on your account contributes to the same track. This makes running multiple alts through Tier 8 Delves per week highly efficient. Each week’s Bountiful Coffer run contributes to Journey rank. Rank 10 takes roughly three weeks on a single character. With two or three active alts contributing, you can hit Rank 10 significantly faster and unlock the Corroded Soul Crusher mount and other Journey rewards earlier in the season.
Priority 4 — Prey Hunts
The Prey System is WoW Midnight’s open-world solo hunting system. You track and defeat elite quarry targets across Midnight zones at three difficulty levels: Normal, Hard, and Nightmare. Prey Hunts contribute to both the Great Vault World row and the Preyseeker’s Journey seasonal progression track.
The Four-Hunt Weekly Rule
Run exactly four Prey Hunts per week at the highest difficulty you can clear reliably. Four hunts is the threshold where Preyseeker’s Journey progress is maximized. After four hunts, the progression rate drops significantly — spend that time on Delves or other content instead. You can run up to 15 hunts across all zones in Season 2, but the diminishing returns past four make a full 15-hunt grind inefficient for most players.
Prey Difficulty Breakdown
- Normal: Entry level. Rewards Adventurer/Veteran gear and Coffer Key Shards. Good while still gearing up toward Hard.
- Hard: Adds the Torment affix — incoming damage increases by 2% per stack as time passes. Dying reduces hunt progress. Seeping Gore ground hazards appear. Rewards Champion-track gear and higher Dawncrest drops.
- Nightmare: All Hard affixes, plus Echo of Predation (stalking spirits) and Bloody Command. Solo only — no groups. A strict 6-minute timer. At 3 minutes, the quarry enters Void Rage (+50% auto-attack damage). Unlocks at Preyseeker’s Journey Rank 4 after the Dark Mending questline. Rewards Hero-track Great Vault slots and Voidcore materials.
Season 2 Prey — Coiled Isle Hunts and Ral’kala
Season 2 added four new snake-themed Prey Hunts on the Coiled Isle. After completing the Prey: A Slithering Threat questline (which starts with Astalor in Silvermoon and requires completing one Coiled Isle Prey Hunt on Nightmare), you unlock access to Ral’kala — a special Prey boss summoned at a Haunted Brazier using Ossified Relics. Defeating Ral’kala can drop the Hexflame Reaver Mount, Pale Hexcaler Pet, and Prehunter’s Masquerade toy. The daily quest Prey: Anguish From Beyond from Sanctum Attendant Ethrandil rewards 100 Ossified Relics — run this daily to stockpile summoning materials efficiently.
Priority 5 — Coiled Isle and Zul’jarra’s Forces
The Coiled Isle is the Season 2 outdoor hub and the source of the new Zul’jarra’s Forces faction. Reputation is account-wide — progress from any character counts toward the same renown track. The Renown Quartermaster, Jan’sari the Watchful, is located at Tokka’s Landing on the island.
Weekly Coiled Isle Tasks
- World Quests on the Coiled Isle: Rotating quests that grant reputation with Zul’jarra’s Forces and fill your World row Great Vault slots. Check the map each reset for new offerings.
- Vaults of Atal’Utek Daily Quests: Multiple NPCs offer daily quests after completing “Vaults of Atal’Utek: Certain Doom.” Each daily gives 50 Zul’jarra’s Forces reputation — the most efficient daily reputation source on the island.
- Curse Surge Events: Rare elite enemies spawn during Curse Surge events across the Coiled Isle. Each kill awards Adventurer or Veteran Mistcrests and fills a World row Vault slot. Combine them with Cursed Fishing dailies from Captain Tokka when both are active in the same area.
- Coiled Isle Rares: Kill rare enemies for a chance at mounts, housing decor, and transmog pieces. Some rares have a weekly lockout on their loot.
Renown Milestones Worth Tracking
- Renown Level 9: Unlocks the Cursebreaker’s Bracers — a free Champion-track item for your armor type. One of the easiest early-season upgrades available with no RNG involved. If you are still in the lower gear range, prioritize hitting this renown level in your first two weeks.
- Higher renown levels: Unlock mounts, cosmetics, housing decor, and new profession recipes. If crafting is a priority, unlock Zul’jarra renown before grinding specific crafts — the recipes from renown are some of the most impactful new craftables this season.
Priority 6 — Tidebound Grotto Lair
The Tidebound Grotto is Season 2’s Lair — a flexible-difficulty instanced encounter introduced with Patch 12.1. It opened at World difficulty on August 11 and at higher flexible difficulties on August 18 alongside the full season. Lairs sit between world boss encounters and proper raid content in terms of difficulty and reward quality. The Tidebound Grotto ends with Nymrissa Wavecaller.
The weekly routine for the Lair is simple: complete it once per week at the highest difficulty you can manage. It provides Champion and Hero-track gear and contributes to your World row Great Vault progress. Starting from Week 8 of the season, Orin Straylight offers a free weekly bonus roll here — that roll awards Mythic-track quality loot matching your Great Vault reward level, making the Lair significantly more valuable once this bonus unlocks. Until then, the Lair is a reliable supplemental activity that takes 15–25 minutes.
Priority 7 — Catalyst, Voidforge, and Crafting
These three systems generate some of the biggest single upgrades of the week, but they require careful timing. The rule for all three is the same: check your Vault and major loot drops first, then spend.
Catalyst Charges
The Catalyst converts eligible Season 2 armor pieces into class-set items. Charges accumulate weekly. The rules for smart Catalyst use:
- Convert only the highest item-level piece you own in a slot where a set bonus would activate or advance.
- Never convert weak temporary armor just because a charge is sitting unused — wait for a better source piece.
- Catalyzed items keep their cantrips and inherit secondary stats from the source piece. The quality of the source item matters — a weak piece catalyzed is a weak tier piece.
- Do not convert a piece you are about to replace. Check your Vault and upcoming raid runs before committing.
Voidforge Bonus Rolls
The Voidforge bonus roll system uses Nebulous Voidcores to add an extra loot roll on specific boss encounters. Voidcore bonus roll loot always matches Great Vault item quality for raid participants — making it significantly more valuable on Heroic and Mythic raid bosses than on Normal. Use bonus rolls selectively on bosses where your current best-in-slot item drops and the slot is genuinely holding back your performance. Starting Week 8 of the season, Orin Straylight in Silvermoon grants a free weekly Voidcore — note that date and do not miss it once it unlocks.
Crafted Gear
Crafted gear provides targeted slot upgrades at competitive item levels, particularly early in the season when specific slots are hard to fill through RNG. The process for smart crafting this season:
- Progress Zul’jarra’s Forces renown before grinding specific recipes — new recipes unlock through the renown track and are some of the strongest craftables of Season 2.
- Check whether a Catalyst conversion solves the same upgrade problem before spending crafting materials. Catalyst is free; materials cost gold or time.
- Avoid crafting a premium slot item that a four-piece tier requirement or a targeted raid drop is likely to replace within the next 1–2 weeks.
Priority 8 — Void Assaults and World Incursions
Void Assaults are weekly rotating open-world events tied to Eversong and Zul’Aman. Void Assault: Eversong and Void Assault: Zul’Aman alternate week by week, and both reward a Ranger’s Cache Pinnacle cache. These are worth completing if you can still use Veteran-track gear upgrades — for players who have moved fully into Champion and Hero gear, the rewards scale less impressively but the activities still count toward World row Great Vault progress. “Void Strikes” are smaller continuous attacks throughout the zone that run alongside the main assault event — complete these while you are in the zone to maximize efficiency.
Priority 9 — PvP (Rated Content)
If PvP is your primary activity, the weekly targets in Season 2 are:
- Run rated Arena or Battleground Blitz to fill PvP Conquest and progress your PvP seasonal track.
- Track your 3v3 Arena wins toward Elite. The PvP Elite armor set unlocks at 1,800 rating. The Venomous Gladiator’s Goredrake mount requires 50 qualifying 3v3 wins while at Elite. Both rewards are removed when Season 2 ends.
- Do not ignore PvP gear as a gearing path. PvP gear converts to competitive item levels in PvP content and can fill slots your PvE loot has not yet covered, making cross-progression efficient especially in early weeks.
Priority 10 — Housing Endeavors
Player Housing Endeavors are monthly events — not weekly resets — but the tasks that feed them need consistent weekly attention. Each month a new themed Endeavor fills your neighborhood with visiting NPCs and community goals. Completing Endeavor tasks earns Community Coupons (the housing currency, capped at 500 per Endeavor and Warbound account-wide) and House XP for leveling your home.
Weekly Housing Habits
- Open the Housing Dashboard (press H) and check the Endeavor tab weekly. Several Endeavor tasks align directly with what you are already doing — dungeon runs, Prey Hunts, Delves, gathering, PvP — so completing them requires no extra effort beyond picking them up.
- Do not let Community Coupons hit the 500 cap with nowhere to spend them. Visit Endeavor vendors in your neighborhood when new milestone tiers unlock and spend excess Coupons on decor before the Endeavor cycle ends.
- Playing in a group of at least three characters from the same neighborhood gives you 20% more Endeavor Progress and House XP — worth coordinating with neighbors on particularly high-value weekly tasks.
- Housing Trophies drop from Mythic+ dungeon clears alongside your normal gear rolls — no extra effort required. They accumulate passively as you run your key content each week.
For the full breakdown of every housing system including the Blueprints save-and-share system added in Patch 12.1, the WoW Player Housing complete guide covers everything from unlocking your plot to decor farming.

Common Weekly Mistakes to Avoid
These are the errors that consistently cost players upgrades and currency each week.
Spending Mistcrests Before Opening the Vault
The single most costly mistake. If you upgrade a piece Monday and the Tuesday Vault gives you a better version of the same slot, you wasted 80 Mistcrests on a piece you replaced 24 hours later. Always open the Vault first. Always.
Wasting Coffer Keys on Low-Tier Delves
A Restored Coffer Key spent on a Tier 3 Delve gives you Veteran-track gear. The same key on a Tier 8 Delve gives you Champion-track gear and a Hero 1/6 World Vault slot. Save every key until you can reliably complete Tier 8. If Tier 8 is not yet accessible, run regular Delves without keys to gear up until it is.
Filling the World Row With Low-Value Activities Before High-Value Ones
The Great Vault’s World row quality is influenced by the mix of activities you completed. If you fill two World row slots with low-level World Quests and then run a Tier 8 Delve, the quality of all three slots reflects the average of what you completed. Do your highest-value activities first — Tier 8 Delves and Nightmare Prey — and then fill remaining slots with outdoor content. Check the Vault tooltip before stopping for the week to confirm the expected reward quality.
Running More Than Four Prey Hunts
After four Prey Hunts, Preyseeker’s Journey progress slows significantly. The diminishing returns are steep enough that running five or more hunts in a week is almost never the best use of your remaining time. Stop at four and spend the hour on Delves or Coiled Isle content instead.
Using Catalyst Charges on Weak Pieces
Every Catalyst charge converts one piece into tier-set gear. That gear inherits the secondary stats and item level of the source piece. Converting a 280 item-level piece into a tier piece gives you a weak tier piece that you will replace in a few weeks. Wait for a source piece above 295 item level before catalyzing. The tier bonus does not change — only the item level and stats of the converted piece do.
Ignoring the Preyseeker’s Journey Rank 4 Unlock
Nightmare difficulty — the highest and most rewarding Prey tier — is locked behind Rank 4 of the Preyseeker’s Journey. You need to complete the Dark Mending questline from Astalor to access it. Many players run Normal and Hard Prey for multiple weeks without realizing Nightmare is sitting behind a short quest unlock. Check your Preyseeker’s Journey tab and do the unlock quest the moment Rank 4 is available.
Mid-Season Calendar — Upcoming Unlock Dates
Some Season 2 rewards and systems unlock on a schedule rather than at season start. Track these dates so you do not miss them.
- August 18 (NA) / August 19 (EU): Full Season 2 launch. The Venomous Abyss Normal/Heroic/Mythic, Mythic+, rated PvP, Bountiful Delves, Nightmare Prey, Curse of the Isle, higher Tidebound Grotto difficulties, first claimable Season 2 Vault gear.
- August 25 (NA) / August 26 (EU): Raid Finder Wing 2 and Story Mode open.
- September 1 (NA) / September 2 (EU): Raid Finder Wing 3 opens.
- September 8 (NA) / September 9 (EU): Raid Finder Wing 4 opens.
- Week 8 of the Season: Free weekly Voidcore from Orin Straylight unlocks. Free weekly bonus roll at the Tidebound Grotto also activates. Mark this date in your calendar — these are easy to miss in the routine.
- Mid-Season: Ascendant Venomstones (renamed from Ascendant Voidcores) become available for endgame gear optimization. These are designed to slow gear progression after early-season power creep and cost 10 Venomstones per piece to apply. Farmed from Heroic/Mythic raids, Mythic+ Level 10+, Tier 11 Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey.
- Blizzard Tuning Passes: Confirmed dates include September 1 and September 22. Rankings and some activities may shift meaningfully after each pass.
Frequently Asked Questions
When does WoW reset each week?
Every Tuesday at 3 PM PST for North American, Oceanian, and Latin American servers. Every Wednesday at 4 AM UTC for European servers. Weekly lockouts, the Great Vault, Catalyst charges, weekly quests, and Coffer Key Shards all reset at this time.
What is the most important thing to do every week in Season 2?
Open the Great Vault immediately after reset and choose your item carefully. Then run the Venomous Abyss and kill 8 bosses. Then complete 8 Mythic+ keys at +10. Everything else fills in around those three pillars. If you only have a few hours per week, prioritize Vault → raid → keys in that order.
How many Prey Hunts should I do per week?
Four. After four Hunts, Preyseeker’s Journey progress drops sharply and the time is better spent on other content. Run four at the highest difficulty you can clear — Nightmare gives the best Mistcrest and Vault rewards, Hard is a strong middle ground, and Normal is the entry point while still gearing up.
What Delve tier should I be running?
Tier 8 is the weekly target for most players. It provides Champion 2/6 Coffer gear and the Hero 1/6 Great Vault World row slot at 305 item level — the standard World row ceiling. Tiers 9–11 add Mistcrests and Journey progress but do not raise the Vault quality. Run Tier 8 with your Restored Coffer Keys and save higher tiers for when you are chasing specific seasonal achievements or the Delver’s Journey track rewards.
Should I be doing all of this on alts too?
Run alts through activities where Warband-wide progress applies: Delver’s Journey and Zul’jarra’s Forces reputation both progress account-wide, meaning every keyed Bountiful Coffer your alt opens and every World Quest they complete feeds the same shared track as your main. For full details on the endgame systems and how they all connect, our WoW Midnight endgame guide explains everything from the moment you hit level 90.
What class should I be playing for Season 2 content?
For DPS, Arms Warrior and Arcane Mage lead both Mythic+ and The Venomous Abyss raid. For a full spec-by-spec breakdown including the best specs for your preferred playstyle, the Season 2 DPS Tier List for Raids and Mythic+ ranks every spec with full explanations. If you are still deciding on a class, the Devourer Demon Hunter guide covers the exciting new third DH spec in full detail — one of the most accessible A-tier specs in Season 2.
