Camellya Overview: Who Is She in Wuthering Waves?
Camellya is a 5-star Havoc Sword resonator and the Bloom Bearer from the Black Shores. She debuted in Version 1.4 as the first limited Havoc main DPS and immediately made an impression with one of the most visually distinctive combat styles in the game — spinning on vines in mid-air while dealing explosive AoE damage.
Her entire identity as a DPS comes down to one stat: Basic Attack DMG. Nearly 80% of her total damage output is classified as Basic Attack DMG, making her one of the most focused scaling characters in the game. But here is the twist that confuses players — almost all of her highest-damage skills (Resonance Skill, Heavy Attack, Dodge Counter) also count as Basic Attack DMG. So leveling her Resonance Skill is actually her top priority despite being a Basic Attack-heavy carry.
Camellya is a hyper-carry who demands extended field time. She does not cycle in and out quickly like sub-DPS characters. She gets on the field, enters her modes, and stays there — dealing sustained, AoE-heavy Havoc damage across wide areas. She is excellent in Whimpering Wastes content and top-tier in Tower of Adversity when played correctly.
Camellya Kit Breakdown: Crimson Pistils, Blossom Mode, and Budding Mode
Camellya has two empowered combat states and a single resource that links them. Understanding all three is essential to building and playing her correctly.
Crimson Pistils: The Core Resource
Crimson Pistils is Camellya’s Forte Circuit gauge, capped at 100 points. She gains Pistils from:
- Intro Skill (Everblooming) — instantly recovers 100 Crimson Pistils on entry
- Forte Circuit activation (Ephemeral) — instantly recovers 100 Crimson Pistils when Ephemeral is cast
Crimson Pistils are consumed by all attacks made during Blossom Mode. Every 10 Pistils consumed directly recover Concerto Energy and create one Crimson Bud. She can hold up to 10 Crimson Buds at a time. This means completing a full Blossom Mode cycle (consuming all 100 Pistils) generates 10 Crimson Buds and fills her Concerto Energy — setting up Budding Mode.
Blossom Mode: Aerial Vine Combat
Camellya enters Blossom Mode by using her regular Resonance Skill when Concerto Energy is not full. In Blossom Mode:
- She is suspended mid-air on vines and cannot move horizontally
- Her Basic Attacks transform into vine-based aerial strikes (Vining Waltz, Blazing Waltz, Vining Ronde)
- Her Heavy Attack becomes Pruning — deals Havoc DMG counted as Basic Attack DMG
- Her Resonance Skill becomes Crimson Blossom — a powerful AoE vine eruption
- All attacks consume Crimson Pistils and generate Crimson Buds + Concerto Energy
- Blossom Mode lasts until she runs out of Stamina (which maintains her suspension on vines)
This is where the majority of her combat happens. All Blossom Mode attacks are beautiful, wide-reaching AoE hits that hit groups of enemies simultaneously.
Budding Mode: The Super State
When Camellya’s Concerto Energy is full after Blossom Mode, her Resonance Skill changes to Ephemeral. Activating Ephemeral:
- Instantly refills Crimson Pistils to 100
- Enters Budding Mode
Budding Mode is Camellya’s super-charged damage state. All of her attacks gain a 50% base multiplier increase, plus an additional 5% per consumed Crimson Bud stack (up to 10 stacks = +50%). At maximum Bud stacks, this represents a combined 100% total damage multiplier increase on top of all other modifiers — effectively doubling her damage from baseline before Crit and DMG Bonus calculations are applied.
Critical rules for Budding Mode:
- Budding Mode ends immediately if you switch to another character
- Budding Mode ends when all Crimson Pistils are consumed
- While in Budding Mode, Camellya cannot generate Resonance Energy or gain new Crimson Buds
- Blossom Mode and Budding Mode can be active simultaneously — this is the goal
The ideal rotation state is having both Budding Mode and Blossom Mode active at the same time. That is when her damage output peaks.
Outro Skill and Inherent Passives
Camellya’s Outro Skill grants the incoming resonator a 20% Basic Attack DMG Bonus for a duration. This makes her useful in teams where she cycles off-field to empower a sub-DPS who also deals Basic Attack DMG.
Her inherent passives provide a 15% Basic DMG Bonus and interruption resistance during her Blossom Mode attacks, making her much more durable while suspended on vines.
Best Camellya Weapons in Wuthering Waves
Camellya uses Swords. Her best weapons stack Crit Rate, ATK, and Basic Attack DMG amplification.
1. Red Spring (5-Star Signature) – Best in Slot
Red Spring is Camellya’s signature weapon and her clear best-in-slot. It provides a Crit Rate substat, 24% ATK, and its passive — Searing Feather — stacks up to 3 times, each adding Basic Attack DMG multiplier after she hits with Basic Attack DMG. Additionally, consuming Concerto Energy boosts her Basic Attack DMG further. Since her entire Blossom Mode sequence is Basic Attack DMG and she consumes Concerto Energy through Ephemeral on every rotation, both halves of the passive fire reliably every rotation. Highly recommended for long-term Camellya investment.
2. Emerald of Genesis (5-Star, Standard Banner)
A very strong accessible alternative. It provides Crit Rate as a substat, Energy Regen, and stacks ATK up to twice after Resonance Skill use. Since Camellya uses her Resonance Skill (Crimson Blossom and Floral Ravage) multiple times in Blossom Mode, the ATK stacks build quickly. A competitive choice that does not require the limited banner.
3. Blazing Brilliance (5-Star, Changli’s Signature)
Provides Crit DMG and Searing Feather stacks from Resonance Skill use. Since most of Camellya’s Blossom Mode attacks are counted as Resonance Skill in the multiplier calculation, Blazing Brilliance’s stacks activate frequently. A solid option if you have it from Changli‘s banner and want to share it.
4. Lumingloss (4-Star)
A 4-star Sword that provides strong ATK and buffs Basic Attack DMG after Resonance Skill use. A very accessible and effective option for players who do not have a 5-star Sword available for Camellya.
5. Commando of Conviction (4-Star)
Stackable ATK bonus up to 60% under the right conditions. Works as a placeholder weapon during early game progression before better options are available.

Best Camellya Echo Sets in Wuthering Waves
Camellya’s echo set is one of the most straightforward decisions in the game. She wants the Havoc-specific stacking set above everything else.
Sun-sinking Eclipse (5-Piece) – Best in Slot
Sun-sinking Eclipse is Camellya’s definitive best echo set. The 2-piece bonus gives a 10% Havoc DMG Bonus. The 5-piece effect is what makes it so strong: after each Basic Attack or Heavy Attack, Camellya gains a 7.5% Havoc DMG Bonus stack for 15 seconds, stacking up to 4 times (30% total). Each stack has its own independent 15-second timer. In Blossom Mode, Camellya attacks continuously — reaching maximum stacks within seconds of entering the mode and maintaining them for the duration. Combined with the base 10% from the 2-piece, this is a total of 40% Havoc DMG Bonus from the set alone during her peak damage window. No other set comes close for her specific kit.
2-Piece Sun-sinking Eclipse + 2-Piece Lingering Tunes – Transitional Option
A usable early-game hybrid if you do not have enough Sun-sinking Eclipse pieces with good substats. Gives you 10% Havoc DMG from the 2-piece and ATK stacking from Lingering Tunes. Replace with a full 5-piece as soon as you have the pieces.
Best Main Echo for Camellya
Dreamless – Best for Players Who Do Not Jump-Cancel
Dreamless is the simpler and more consistent main echo for most players. Its echo skill transforms into Dreamless and performs 6 consecutive Havoc attacks. More importantly, its echo skill’s DMG increases by 50% for the first 5 seconds after Resonance Liberation. Equipped in the main slot, it grants 12% Havoc DMG Bonus and 12% Basic Attack DMG Bonus — directly feeding both of Camellya’s main damage types. Use this echo if you prefer a clean rotation without complex cancel mechanics.
Crownless – Best for Players Who Jump-Cancel
Crownless delivers higher damage than Dreamless but requires using it early in the rotation and performing a jump cancel after the echo skill animation to avoid losing field time. Its echo skill provides a 12% Havoc DMG Bonus and 12% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus for 15 seconds after transformation. The Resonance Skill DMG Bonus is key — since Camellya’s Blossom Mode attacks scale from her Resonance Skill node (despite being counted as Basic Attack DMG), this buff amplifies her strongest multipliers. Use Crownless if you are comfortable with jump-canceling the animation after the echo skill.
Bottom line: Dreamless is safer and nearly as strong. Crownless is slightly better at optimal play but requires technique. Both are excellent choices — pick based on your comfort level.
Best Echo Stats and Sub-Stats for Camellya
Camellya’s entire damage output is Basic Attack DMG and Havoc DMG. Build accordingly with no ambiguity.
Main Stats Priority
- Cost 4 Echo: Crit Rate or Crit DMG (use Crit Rate if Red Spring covers Crit Rate already — if so, take Crit DMG)
- Cost 3 Echoes: Havoc DMG Bonus x2
- Cost 1 Echoes: ATK%
Recommended Echo Distribution
Use the 4-3-3-1-1 pattern with double Havoc DMG on Cost-3 echoes. Double Havoc DMG Cost-3 slots consistently outperform other configurations for Camellya.
Sub-Stats Priority
- Crit Rate (aim for 70–80%)
- Crit DMG
- Basic Attack DMG Bonus
- ATK%
- Flat ATK
Energy Regeneration is a low priority for Camellya. While in Budding Mode, she cannot generate Resonance Energy at all — meaning stacking ER on her echoes provides diminishing returns and she already generates Concerto Energy efficiently through her Blossom Mode cycle. Do not sacrifice Crit or Basic Attack DMG for ER.
Camellya Skill Priority
Here is the counterintuitive truth about Camellya: despite being a Basic Attack DMG carry, her Resonance Skill node is the top upgrade priority. This is because almost all of her Blossom Mode attacks (Vining Waltz, Blazing Waltz, Vining Ronde, Crimson Blossom) scale from the Resonance Skill multiplier in the Forte calculations — even though they are counted as Basic Attack DMG for stat interactions. The majority of her total damage flows through the Resonance Skill multiplier.
- Resonance Skill (Top Priority) — Governs the multipliers of every Blossom Mode attack. This is the single most impactful upgrade per skill point spent on Camellya. Level this first and prioritize it above everything else.
- Forte Circuit — Governs Ephemeral, the Budding Mode activator and the Crimson Bud-based damage multiplier scaling. Second priority.
- Resonance Liberation — Provides an AoE Havoc burst. Not used on a strict cooldown but very powerful when available. Third priority.
- Intro Skill — Everblooming fills Crimson Pistils instantly and deals entry damage. Worth leveling after the top three since the Intro Skill is the entry point of every rotation.
- Basic Attack — Lowest priority. Her standard Basic Attack sequence outside of Blossom Mode is rarely used in optimized play. The multiplier increases are the least impactful of any skill upgrade.
Best Camellya Teams in Wuthering Waves
Camellya is a hyper-carry who needs Basic Attack DMG amplification on the Outro Skill of her supports. She does not need specific team archetypes — any sub-DPS who provides Basic Attack DMG Outro buffs is an excellent partner.
Team 1 (Best F2P): Camellya + Sanhua + Verina
This is Camellya’s best accessible team and one of the strongest budget compositions in the entire game. Sanhua is Camellya’s ideal F2P partner — her Outro Skill provides a 38% Basic Attack DMG Bonus for 14 seconds to the incoming resonator. That Outro directly amplifies Camellya’s entire damage output for the duration. Sanhua also has one of the fastest Concerto rotations in the game, meaning she spends minimum time on-field and Camellya gets more damage window. Verina handles healing and adds a 15% All-Type DMG Deepen buff. A complete and excellent team that requires only one limited 5-star.
Team 2: Camellya + Sanhua + Shorekeeper
Upgrading the support slot from Verina to Shorekeeper provides Crit Rate and Crit DMG buffs on top of team healing. Sanhua’s Basic Attack DMG Outro remains unchanged. This is the premium version of Team 1 and a top-tier composition for Tower of Adversity.
Team 3: Camellya + Danjin + Verina
Danjin is a Havoc sub-DPS whose Outro provides a Havoc DMG Bonus and ATK buff to the incoming resonator. Combined with Camellya’s own Havoc scaling and the Sun-sinking Eclipse set, this team pushes Havoc DMG to high levels. Verina provides healing and the DMG Deepen buff. A solid Mono-Havoc themed team.
Team 4: Camellya + Cantarella + Shorekeeper/Verina
Cantarella provides consistent healing through her Mirage state, Havoc DMG and Resonance Skill DMG buffs via her Outro, and off-field Coordinated Attacks. Shorekeeper or Verina handles the support slot. A team that gives Camellya excellent self-sustain from Cantarella’s healing while maintaining strong damage amplification.
Team 5 (Budget): Camellya + Sanhua + Baizhi
A fully free-to-play team for players who do not have Verina or Shorekeeper. Sanhua‘s 38% Basic Attack DMG Outro remains the key buff. Baizhi handles healing with her own Coordinated Attacks providing off-field damage. Perfectly functional for all open-world content and most Tower of Adversity floors.
Camellya Rotation Guide
Camellya’s rotation revolves around a clear loop: enter → fill Crimson Pistils → enter Blossom Mode → consume Pistils to build Concerto → activate Ephemeral into Budding Mode → deal peak damage. Here is the step-by-step.
Standard Camellya Rotation
- Swap to Camellya with a full Intro Skill (Everblooming) to instantly receive 100 Crimson Pistils. This is the mandatory rotation entry — always have Concerto Energy on your previous character before switching to Camellya.
- Activate Echo Skill (Crownless or Dreamless) immediately after entry for the Havoc DMG and Resonance Skill DMG Bonus buff window.
- Use Resonance Skill to enter Blossom Mode. Camellya suspends on vines.
- In Blossom Mode, perform Basic Attack chain: BA1 → BA2 → BA3 (Hold). The held BA3 becomes a spinning vine attack that deals sustained AoE Havoc DMG. Each attack consumes Crimson Pistils, restores Concerto Energy, and builds Crimson Buds.
- Use Resonance Liberation when available (no strict timing required — use it during Blossom Mode for an additional burst of AoE Havoc DMG).
- Continue Blossom Mode BA chain until Concerto Energy is full (roughly after consuming all 100 Crimson Pistils from the Intro Skill). At this point, you have accumulated Crimson Buds.
- Press Resonance Skill (now showing Ephemeral) to activate Forte Circuit and enter Budding Mode. This instantly refills Crimson Pistils to 100 again.
- In Budding Mode (and Blossom Mode simultaneously), resume the BA chain. All attacks now benefit from the 50%+ Budding Mode multiplier plus Crimson Bud bonuses. This is Camellya’s peak damage window — do not swap.
- Stay on Camellya until all Crimson Pistils are consumed (Budding Mode ends when Pistils run out). Then swap out when Concerto is full, triggering the Outro Skill’s 20% Basic Attack DMG Bonus for the next character.
Pro tip: Do not cast Ephemeral too early. Wait until Concerto Energy is fully charged from Blossom Mode before pressing the Resonance Skill. Triggering Budding Mode before Concerto is full wastes the synergy between the two modes and reduces the number of Crimson Buds consumed during the Budding window.
Jump cancel tip: If using Crownless as your main echo, activate the echo skill right after the Intro Skill, then immediately jump to cancel the animation. This preserves the Havoc and Resonance Skill DMG buffs from Crownless while saving the time you would spend watching the transformation animation.
Camellya Resonance Chain: Is She Worth Pulling Dupes?
Camellya’s Resonance Chain nodes provide a mix of personal and team-wide upgrades.
- S1: Adds a Crit DMG boost to her Intro Skill and makes her immune to interruption while casting Ephemeral. Very useful — the Crit DMG from the Intro adds meaningful burst value and the interruption immunity protects her Budding Mode activation. One of the better first dupe options in the game.
- S2: Increases the DMG multiplier of Ephemeral. A direct boost to her Budding Mode activation hit. Moderate upgrade.
- S3: Bolsters Resonance Liberation and provides an ATK buff during Budding Mode. Significant when combined with S1’s foundation — the ATK buff in Budding Mode stacks with all other multipliers. Community consensus considers S3 a notable power spike.
- S4: Provides a team-wide Basic Attack DMG buff on her Intro Skill. Excellent for teams with other Basic Attack DMG-focused characters. Also improves rotation efficiency.
- S5 and S6: Further multiplier scaling on Intro and Outro Skills. High-end investment.
S0 Camellya is fully playable and performs strongly. S1 is the best first upgrade — Crit DMG and interruption immunity during Ephemeral are both immediately impactful. S3 is the next meaningful spike after that. Pulling for S6 is only recommended for players who want to maximize her absolute ceiling.
Camellya Ascension and Forte Materials
Here is everything you need to fully level and upgrade Camellya.
Ascension Materials (Character Level 1 to 90)
- Nova x60 – Local specialty exclusive to the Black Shores region. The highest density is in Tethys’ Deep — a full clear of the area after completing the Chapter 1, Act 8 main quest yields around 105 Nova per respawn cycle. Also purchasable from Ku-Money’s Shop in Tethys’ Hub after completing the side quest “Hidden Between the Waves.”
- Topological Confinement x46 – Dropped by the world boss Fallacy of No Return, located in Data Torrent within Tethys’ Deep. Requires completing Chapter 1, Act 8: To the Shore’s End to unlock.
- Whisperin Core (LF x4, MF x12, HF x12, FF x4) – Common drops from Whisperin-type enemies throughout Huanglong and the Black Shores. Also available from Forgery Challenges and the in-game shop.
- Shell Credits x170,000 – For full character ascension to Level 90.
Forte (Skill Upgrade) Materials
- Dreamless Feather x26 – Weekly boss drop from the Dreamless (Statue of the Crownless: Heart) challenge, located in Norfall Barrens. Requires completing Chapter 1, Act 6: Grand Warstorm to unlock. Maximum 3 per week. This is Camellya’s most time-gated resource — prioritize clearing Dreamless every weekly reset from the moment you can.
- Metallic Drip (Inert x25, Reactive x28, Polarized x55, Heterized x67) – Sword-type Forgery Challenge materials. Farm from the Flaming Remnants Forgery Challenge in the Sea of Flames, Port City of Guixu. This challenge also drops Whisperin Cores and Howler Cores as side rewards, making it the most efficient single farming run for Camellya’s materials.
- Whisperin Core (LF x25, MF x28, HF x40, FF x57) – Same source as ascension materials above.
- Shell Credits x2,030,000 – For fully upgrading all Forte Skills.
Camellya Tips and Common Mistakes
- Always enter with the Intro Skill. The Intro Skill instantly grants 100 Crimson Pistils. Without it, you must build Pistils from scratch through regular attacks — a significant waste of time. Always ensure Concerto Energy is fully charged on your previous character before swapping to Camellya.
- Do not activate Ephemeral (Budding Mode) before Concerto Energy is full. Ephemeral needs maximum Crimson Buds to reach the full 100% damage multiplier. Activating it before you have built enough Buds through Blossom Mode means your Budding Mode window deals significantly less damage. Wait for the Ephemeral icon to appear after full Concerto.
- Do not swap out during Budding Mode. Leaving the field immediately ends Budding Mode. All unused Crimson Pistils are wasted and the full 100% multiplier bonus disappears. Commit to the Budding Mode window completely before swapping.
- Resonance Skill is her top upgrade priority, not Basic Attack. This is the most common misunderstanding new Camellya players have. Her Blossom Mode attacks scale from the Resonance Skill node multipliers even though they deal Basic Attack DMG. Leveling Basic Attack provides the least return of any skill upgrade.
- Energy Regeneration is a low priority. Do not stack ER on Camellya’s echoes. In Budding Mode she cannot gain any Resonance Energy. Her Liberation has no strict cooldown importance compared to other carries. Focus ER on substats only enough to feel comfortable — prioritize Crit and Basic Attack DMG instead.
- Flaming Remnants is your main farming domain. It drops Metallic Drip AND Whisperin Cores simultaneously, cutting your Waveplate spending in half compared to running separate challenges for each material.
Is Camellya Worth Pulling in 2026?
Camellya is a strong and satisfying main DPS who remains relevant in 2026. She is the best available option for the Sanhua + Verina budget team — a composition that performs surprisingly well even in current endgame content. Her AoE reach in Whimpering Wastes is genuinely top-tier, and her extended Budding Mode windows are some of the highest-ceiling single-DPS bursts in the Havoc element.
She is honest about what she is: a selfish, high-field-time hyper-carry. She does not provide team buffs during her on-field time and she needs dedicated quick-swap supports to cycle efficiently. But within that role, she does her job extremely well and remains one of the most visually and mechanically satisfying carries to pilot.
On her rerun, she is a strong pull — especially if you do not already have a main Havoc DPS. If you are building a Havoc team, also consider pairing her with Cantarella for sustain or Danjin for a Mono-Havoc setup. For broader builds around the Havoc archetype, see our guides for Havoc Rover and Chisa. For the supports that make her rotation work, check our guides on Sanhua, Verina, and Shorekeeper.
