Overview

Chisa is a 5-Star Havoc Broadblade Hybrid Support / Sub-DPS introduced in Wuthering Waves Version 2.8. The enigmatic Scissor JK from Startorch Academy wields a shape-shifting weapon that transforms between swift scissors and a brutal chainsaw — matching her dual identity as a cool-headed analyst who becomes an absolute havoc-wreaking force in combat. Her defining mechanic is the Havoc Bane system: a stackable DEF reduction debuff she applies to enemies via her Unseen Snare mark, which ignores 18% enemy DEF for her entire team while active.

Chisa is the first unit in the game to utilize the Havoc Bane mechanic and the only character who can trigger the new Thread of Severed Fate echo set (Version 2.8). Her Outro Skill is a game-changer for Negative Status compositions: it increases the maximum stack count of every Negative Status type by +3 for 15s, directly supercharging Spectro Frazzle (Phoebe/Zani), Aero Erosion (Cartethyia), and the new Fusion Burst (Aemeath) teams.

At S-Tier, Chisa’s kit is designed for long-term meta value. While Negative Status teams are somewhat niche in the current patch, her flexibility to slot into every DoT and Negative Status composition makes her an exceptional investment. She provides healing, shielding, DEF reduction, max stack amplification, and solid personal damage all in one — a support profile that currently only Shorekeeper rivals, and that Chisa surpasses for DoT-specific teams.

⚔️ The Havoc Bane System — Unseen Snare, Chainsaw Mode & Outro

◆ Unseen Snare & Havoc Bane
  • Applied via Resonance Skill, Dodge Counter, or Lock-On — marks last 30s
  • Thread of Bane: all team damage to Snared targets ignores 18% DEF
  • Havoc Bane: stacks up to 3× on marked enemies, each stack -2% DEF
  • Stacks refresh every 2s when any Resonator deals direct damage to the marked target
◆ Ring of Chainsaw (Forte Gauge)
  • Max 100 Ring of Chainsaw — built via Normal Attacks, Resonance Skill, Liberation, Intro
  • Liberation grants +40 points (biggest single source); Intro gives +20
  • At 100 points, Resonance Skill upgrades to Serrated Loop → Chainsaw Mode
  • During Chainsaw Mode, Sawring-Blitz attacks consume Ring of Chainsaw per hit
◆ Chainsaw Mode — Sawring Attacks
  • Enter via Serrated Loop (enhanced Resonance Skill at full Forte)
  • Always cast Liberation BEFORE entering Chainsaw Mode — Liberation buffs Sawring DMG by +120% (Woven Myriad – Convergence state)
  • Sawring-Eradication (finisher) scales off Ring of Chainsaw consumed — use all 100 points
  • Grants team-wide shield on Eradication and ends Chainsaw Mode
◆ Outro — Negative Status Amplifier
  • +3 maximum stack count for ALL Negative Status types for 15s
  • Covers Spectro Frazzle, Aero Erosion, Havoc Bane, Fusion Burst — every DoT team benefits
  • Also applies 18% DEF ignore while Negative Status or DoT damage is active after swap
  • Not stackable — place Chisa in the Outro position to always activate this buff before swapping to DPS

Strengths & Weaknesses

✓ Strengths

  • Universal Negative Status amplifier — Outro +3 max stack boost works on every DoT type; no other unit provides this kind of cross-element DoT ceiling lift
  • 18% DEF shred via Thread of Bane — passive, always-active DEF reduction for the entire team while Unseen Snare is on the target; zero conditions beyond marking the enemy
  • Full hybrid kit — healer + shielder + sub-DPS + Negative Status support in one slot; saves team composition space compared to running a dedicated healer and a separate support
  • Liberation buffs Chainsaw Mode by +240% total when consumed through Sawring — massive burst window that punches far above her support-oriented base stats
  • Strong future meta value — every new Negative Status / DoT character released will benefit from her Outro; positioned to scale in value with each new patch

✗ Weaknesses

  • Negative Status teams are still niche — in non-Cartethyia/Phoebe/Zani/Aemeath teams, her Outro provides minimal value; she should not be run outside of Negative Status compositions
  • Key buffing capabilities locked behind signature weapon Kumokiri — the 48% All-DMG Bonus to teammates at max stacks only activates with Kumokiri; alternatives perform 8–17% lower
  • Lackluster personal damage at S0 — without S3 (personal damage +26%) she is primarily a support unit; players looking for a main DPS carry will be disappointed at base sequences
  • Chainsaw Mode can be disrupted — like Chixia’s DAKA DAKA!, aggressive bosses that interrupt sustained attacks can break the Sawring hold chain mid-combo, losing Ring of Chainsaw stacks
  • Shorekeeper still superior for non-Negative Status teams — Chisa replaces Shorekeeper only in specific DoT comps; for generic teams, Shorekeeper’s Crit buffs and unconditional DMG Amplification are better

Skill Leveling Priority

Priority Skill Reason
★★★★★ 1st Inherent Skills (unlock at Rank 4 & 6) Inherent Skill 2 (All Ends Here) gives +20% Havoc DMG Bonus and +20% Healing Bonus for 12s after Intro or Liberation — a massive passive that costs no resources to trigger. Unlock both by ascending Chisa to Rank 4 and Rank 6
★★★★★ 1st Resonance Liberation — Lv.10 Moment of Nihility is Chisa’s primary nuke (480% multiplier at Lv.1), main healing source, and the key enabler of Chainsaw Mode’s +120% / +240% buff window. Scales directly with ATK for both damage and healing output — upgrade alongside Forte
★★★★★ 2nd Forte Circuit — Lv.10 Governs all Chainsaw Mode attacks (Sawring-Blitz, Sawring-Eradication), the Shield from Eradication, and the Havoc Bane stacking system. Sawring damage is classified as Liberation DMG — scales with both Forte and Liberation level. Primary on-field DPS and utility source
★★★ 3rd Normal Attack — Lv.8 Death Snip (BA finisher) heals the entire team and is used every rotation to build Forte. Worth leveling for better healing and filler damage. Stop at 8 — returns diminish quickly and Liberation/Forte take priority for materials
★★ 4th Resonance Skill — Lv.6 Eye of Unraveling is primarily a utility tool to apply Unseen Snare and pull enemies — its direct damage contribution is minimal. Level to 6 as an acceptable middle ground for Forte generation speed
★ Last Intro Skill — Skip/Lv.1 Low damage with no special scaling mechanic tied to level — the buff it grants is from Inherent Skill 2, not the Intro Skill level itself. Leave at Lv.1 until all other skills are capped

Best Weapons

Rank Weapon Rarity Performance Key Passive
1 Kumokiri 5★ Sig 100% — BiS 500 ATK + 36% Crit Rate. Intro/Negative Status: +8% Lib DMG (×3 stacks = +24%). At max stacks, ally Negative Status application grants +48% All-DMG Bonus for 15s to the team
2 Wildfire Mark 5★ 91.73% 588 ATK + 48.6% Crit DMG. +24% Lib DMG on Intro/Liberation; +24% Fusion DMG bonus to team via Heavy Attack. Strong Lib DMG scaling — best non-signature option for damage-focused Chisa
3 Ages of Harvest / Jinhsi’s Sig 5★ 87.54% 588 ATK + 24.3% Crit Rate. Reduces echo stat pressure from Crit Rate — Resonance Skill DMG Bonus passive is low value for Chisa but the raw stats are solid alternatives
4 Lustrous Razor 5★ Standard 86.07% +12.8% Energy Regen (fixes Liberation uptime) + stacking +21% Lib DMG Bonus from Resonance Skill use. Best Energy management weapon and great for ensuring every-rotation Liberation
5 Autumntrace 4★ ~83% 413 ATK + 20.3% Crit Rate. Passive: +4% ATK per BA/HA hit (×5 stacks = +20% ATK). Simple and effective — naturally triggered during Normal Attack chains. Good 4★ choice
F2P Meditations on Mercy 4★ Free Budget BiS 462 ATK + 18.2% ATK. +4% ATK per second vs Negative Status targets (×4 stacks = +16% ATK). Chisa’s Havoc Bane counts as Negative Status — passive activates immediately and is easy to maintain at full stacks

⚡ Weapon Note — Kumokiri’s team buff (+48% All-DMG Bonus) is what separates it from all alternatives — it is not just a personal DPS upgrade but a significant team DPS boost that makes it essential for competitive Negative Status team play. If you do not own Kumokiri, Wildfire Mark is the best substitute, followed by Lustrous Razor if Liberation uptime is a concern.

Best Echo Sets

★ Best — DPS Build

Thread of Severed Fate (3-PC) + Havoc Eclipse (2-PC)

3-PC Thread of Severed Fate — When Chisa inflicts Havoc Bane: +20% ATK and +40% Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus for 5s. Since Havoc Bane is applied automatically every 2s while Unseen Snare is active, uptime on this bonus is near-permanent.

2-PC Havoc Eclipse / Midnight Veil / Sun-sinking Eclipse — all grant +10% Havoc DMG Bonus. Use whichever has better sub-stats. Main echo: Reminiscence: Threnodian – Leviathan.

2nd Best — Support/Healer Build

Rejuvenating Glow (5-PC)

2-PC — +10% Healing Bonus. 5-PC+15% ATK for all team members for 30s whenever Chisa heals an ally.

Death Snip (BA finisher) and Liberation both trigger team heals, giving near-permanent 5-PC uptime. Recommended for ATK-scaling DPS teams. Main echo: Fallacy of No Return (HP-based damage + team ATK buff + Energy Regen). Not recommended for HP-scaling DPS like Cartethyia.

3rd — Hybrid Fallback

Thread of Severed Fate (3-PC) + Rejuvenating Glow (2-PC)

Balances personal damage (3-PC Thread bonus) and team support (+10% Healing Bonus). Best for players who want Chisa to be both a capable healer and decent damage dealer without fully committing to either direction. Good transitional build while farming Thread of Severed Fate to full investment.

Echo Main Stats & Sub-Stats

Main Stats — 4-3-3-1-1

  • 4-Cost: Crit Rate or Crit DMG (Crit Rate if under 70%; Crit DMG at S1)
  • 3-Cost ×2: Havoc DMG Bonus or ATK% (near equal performance — ATK% improves heals/shields)
  • 1-Cost ×2: ATK%

Sub-Stat Priority

  • Crit Rate ★★★★★ — Target 80–90%+
  • Crit DMG ★★★★★ — Target 255–285%+
  • Energy Regen ★★★ — Target 125–130% for Liberation every rotation
  • Lib DMG Bonus ★★ — All Sawring and Liberation DMG are Lib-type; take where available
  • ATK% ★★ — Scales damage, healing, and shields; use to fill remaining slots

🎯 Target Endgame Stats

Crit Rate 80–90%+
Crit DMG 255–285%+
Energy Regen 125–130%
ATK 1,800–2,000+

Optimal Rotation

▶ Intro Skill (+20 Forte)

Resonance Skill (Unseen Snare + Forte)

BA ×3 (Death Snip heal + Forte)

Echo — Threnodian Leviathan

⚡ Resonance Liberation (+40 Forte → Full!)

Resonance Skill → Serrated Loop (Chainsaw Mode!)

🪚 Hold BA — Full Sawring chain → Eradication

🔄 Outro → DPS Teammate

Critical rule — Always cast Liberation BEFORE activating Chainsaw Mode. Liberation triggers Woven Myriad – Convergence, which boosts Sawring-Blitz DMG by +120% and Sawring-Eradication by an additional +120% per Ring of Chainsaw consumed (+240% total). Skipping Liberation before Chainsaw Mode is approximately a 60% personal DPS loss. Use the Echo as a summon-type immediately before Liberation for maximum buff overlap.

Best Team Compositions

★ Premium — Aero Erosion Team

Chisa — DEF shred, +3 Erosion stacks, healer
Cartethyia — Main DPS / Aero Erosion carry
Ciaccona — Sub-DPS / Erosion stacker + grouping

Chisa’s best team. Her Outro +3 Erosion stacks solve pre-S2 Cartethyia’s stack ceiling problem. Chisa replaces Aero Rover, freeing Rover for other teams while providing superior healing and consistent DEF shred.

⚡ Spectro Frazzle — Phoebe Team

Chisa — +3 Frazzle sta
