Zani Overview
Zani is a security team member of Averardo Vault and a 5-star Spectro Gauntlet resonator. Her entire kit is built around the Spectro Frazzle mechanic. She absorbs Frazzle stacks from enemies and converts them into Heliacal Embers, which charge her Blaze gauge. When Blaze is full, she enters Inferno Mode via her Resonance Liberation — and that is where the vast majority of her damage comes from.
During Inferno Mode, her Heavy Slashes hit incredibly hard. About 83% of her total damage is classified as Spectro Frazzle DMG and Heavy Attack DMG combined. She also has built-in damage reduction and a full parry mechanic, making her surprisingly tanky on-field for a DPS unit.
Her one limitation is that she is locked into Spectro Frazzle teams. She needs a Frazzle applicator to function at full power. The good news is that Spectro Rover is a free unit that works as a starting applicator for all players.
Zani Best Weapons in Wuthering Waves 3.4
1. Blazing Justice (Best in Slot)
Blazing Justice is Zani’s signature 5-star Gauntlet and her best-in-slot weapon by a significant margin. It has a large Crit DMG secondary stat. The passive increases ATK, boosts Spectro Frazzle DMG dealt, and allows Zani to ignore a portion of enemy defense — a rare and powerful effect that directly amplifies her damage ceiling. If you are planning to build Zani as a main carry, pulling for her signature weapon is strongly recommended.
2. Tragicomedy (Strong 5-Star Alternative)
Tragicomedy is Roccia’s signature 5-star Gauntlet but it works very well on Zani too. It has a Crit Rate secondary stat and its passive increases ATK and Heavy Attack DMG Bonus — both stats that Zani scales with directly. If you own this weapon from a previous banner and do not have Blazing Justice, Tragicomedy is a top-tier alternative that keeps her output high.
3. Stonard (Best F2P Option)
Stonard is the best 4-star weapon for Zani. It comes with a Crit DMG secondary stat and a passive that boosts Resonance Skill DMG, which contributes to her overall rotation damage. It is obtainable from the standard banner and performs well on Zani especially at higher refinements. This is your go-to weapon if you are skipping her signature.
4. Hollow Mirage (Accessible F2P Pick)
Hollow Mirage is a 4-star Gauntlet available from the standard weapon pool. It is a solid budget option while you save up for Stonard or better. It is not as strong as the top options but it gets the job done during early progression and keeps her functional in endgame content at high refinement.
Zani Best Echoes in Wuthering Waves 3.4
Best Echo Set: Eternal Radiance (5-Piece)
The full 5-piece Eternal Radiance set is Zani’s best-in-slot by a clear margin. The 2-piece bonus gives 10% Spectro DMG. The 5-piece effect is the key — when Zani inflicts Spectro Frazzle on enemies, she gains up to 20% Crit Rate. On top of that, attacking an enemy with 10 or more Frazzle stacks boosts her Spectro DMG Bonus by an additional 15%. Since Zani is constantly triggering Frazzle in her rotation, both bonuses are almost always active. This set is essentially built around her kit.
Alternative: Celestial Light (5-Piece)
Celestial Light is a workable fallback if you do not have strong Eternal Radiance pieces yet. The set provides Spectro DMG Bonus from both its 2-piece and 5-piece bonuses. It does not offer the Crit Rate boost that makes Eternal Radiance so valuable, but the consistent Spectro DMG buff keeps her damage respectable while you continue farming. Use Celestial Light as a placeholder only — Eternal Radiance is a big upgrade whenever you can get it.
Best Main Echo: Capitaneus
Capitaneus is Zani’s preferred main 4-cost Echo. When activated, it provides Spectro DMG Bonus and a buff to Heavy Attack DMG — both of which align perfectly with how Zani deals damage. Nightmare: Mourning Aix is a usable alternative main echo if you do not have a strong Capitaneus with good stats, but Capitaneus is the better choice for her Inferno Mode output.

Zani Echo Stats and Substats
Main Stats
- Cost 4 (Capitaneus): Crit DMG — recommended regardless of whether your weapon has Crit Rate or Crit DMG, because the Eternal Radiance 5-piece already supplies a strong Crit Rate boost
- Cost 3 (x2): Spectro DMG Bonus on both — using Spectro DMG on both 3-cost slots outperforms an ATK% + Spectro DMG split by a small but meaningful margin
- Cost 1 (x2): ATK% on both
Substat Priority
- Crit Rate and Crit DMG (aim for a 1:2 ratio)
- Heavy Attack DMG Bonus
- ATK%
- Energy Regeneration — reach at least 115–120% before investing in other offensive stats
Energy Regen requirements can vary slightly depending on your team. With Phoebe in the rotation, energy flow is smoother. But always confirm you can reliably activate her Liberation within each rotation before cutting Energy Regen short.
Zani Skill Priority
Level up her skills in this order:
- Resonance Liberation — Inferno Mode is her primary damage source; always level this first
- Forte Circuit — controls how she generates Blaze and converts Frazzle stacks into Heliacal Embers
- Basic Attack — her Inferno Mode attack strings scale with this; important for overall DPS
- Resonance Skill — used during her rotation for Frazzle generation and Blaze building
- Outro Skill — lowest priority; upgrade when other skills are maxed
Zani Best Teams in Wuthering Waves 3.4
Best Team: Zani + Phoebe + Shorekeeper
This is Zani’s strongest team in 3.4 and one of the best teams in the entire game. Phoebe is the best Spectro Frazzle applicator available, consistently stacking Frazzle on enemies through her Confession state during the rotation. Her Outro Skill provides Spectro RES shred and massive Spectro Frazzle DMG amplification — both of which directly power up Zani’s Inferno Mode. Shorekeeper rounds the team out with team-wide Crit Rate, Crit DMG, and ATK buffs plus reliable healing. Together, this trio hits absurdly high numbers and is considered a top-tier meta composition in 3.4.
Strong Alternative: Zani + Phoebe + Chisa
Replacing Shorekeeper with Chisa gives this team an interesting twist. Chisa’s Outro Skill increases the maximum stack limit of all Negative Statuses (including Spectro Frazzle) on nearby enemies by 3, which directly increases how many Frazzle stacks Phoebe and Zani can accumulate. She also provides DEF shred and DEF Ignore through her Kumokiri buff. This team is especially strong in fights where stack cap matters and trades Shorekeeper’s healing for added offensive pressure.
Premium Budget Team: Zani + Phoebe + Spectro Rover
If you do not have Shorekeeper, running Spectro Rover as the third slot is a very strong free-to-play option. Spectro Rover is an excellent secondary Frazzle applicator. Their Resonance Liberation can apply 6 Frazzle stacks to multiple enemies at once. They also have built-in healing, which partially compensates for the lack of a dedicated support. This team is highly accessible and still clears all endgame content with proper play.
F2P Starter Team: Zani + Spectro Rover + Verina
For newer players who do not have Phoebe yet, pairing Zani with Spectro Rover and Verina is the most accessible and reliable option. Spectro Rover handles Frazzle application while Verina keeps the team alive and provides team-wide ATK% buffs plus a 15% DMG amplification. This team is noticeably weaker than the Phoebe variants but it is fully capable of clearing Whimpering Wastes and Tower of Adversity.
Other Viable Supports
- Baizhi — free healer who works as a Verina substitute; solid in the starter team slot if Verina is not built
- Ciaccona — can apply both Aero Erosion and Spectro Frazzle; useful in multi-wave content where her summons maintain Frazzle uptime across multiple enemy groups
Zani Rotation Guide
Here is the recommended rotation for Zani with Phoebe and Shorekeeper in patch 3.4:
- Open with Shorekeeper — run her full rotation: Basic Attacks into Heavy Attack, Resonance Skill, Basic Attacks, Heavy Attack, then Resonance Liberation and Outro to apply team-wide Crit and ATK buffs
- Swap to Phoebe via Intro — use Hold Resonance Skill and Resonance Liberation, then chain Basic Attacks and Heavy Attacks to stack approximately 19 Spectro Frazzle stacks on enemies before triggering her Outro
- Phoebe’s Outro applies Spectro RES shred and Spectro Frazzle DMG amplification to the team
- Swap to Zani via Intro — use Resonance Skill to start absorbing Frazzle stacks, then chain Basic Attack stages 3 and 4
- Use Resonance Skill again, then fire Resonance Liberation to enter Inferno Mode
- During Inferno Mode, chain Basic Attacks and spend Blaze on Heavy Slashes (Nightfall strikes) to unload maximum damage
- Exit via Outro and restart from Shorekeeper
With Phoebe in the team, Zani can accumulate up to 225 Blaze per rotation, allowing up to four Nightfall slashes in a single Inferno window — which is where her massive damage numbers come from.
Zani Sequences (Constellations) – Are They Worth It?
Zani at Sequence 0 is already a top-tier DPS and does not need duplicates to perform. That said, her sequences do add meaningful value:
- S1 — increases Spectro Frazzle DMG output; a noticeable boost that improves her damage floor
- S3 — adds more Blaze generation and Inferno Mode scaling; one of her stronger nodes
- S6 — increases Heavy Slash multipliers by 40% and immediately restores 70 Blaze if it drops below 70; a massive power spike that takes her ceiling to another level but is very expensive to reach
S0 Zani is the baseline and it is excellent. Only chase sequences if you are a dedicated main with deep resources.
Is Zani Worth Building in Patch 3.4?
Yes — Zani is absolutely worth building in 3.4. She is one of the strongest main DPS characters in the game right now and her team with Phoebe and Shorekeeper is a genuine top-tier meta composition. Her AoE coverage, built-in tankiness, parry mechanic, and massive Inferno Mode damage make her one of the most complete on-field DPS resonators available.
The only thing to keep in mind is the team investment. She performs best with Phoebe, which means two limited 5-star units in the same team. If you are planning to build a Spectro Frazzle roster, Zani and Phoebe are both worth pulling and they make each other significantly stronger.
