What Are Theseus’ Echoes?
Theseus’ Echoes are a unique type of collectible in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. They are classified as Charms in the game’s menu under the name Pierced Coins, but they work differently from every other Charm in the game. Instead of coming from a small wooden chest, each one is found at a carved Axe Chalice — a stone axe emblem hidden off the main route. When Sophia interacts with one, you hear an audio flashback of Theseus himself speaking, giving you fragments of the ancient king’s perspective and voice.
There are exactly 5 Theseus’ Echoes in the game, one in each of Chapters 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10. Collecting all five unlocks the In the Name of My Kin trophy on PlayStation or Achievement on Xbox and PC. They also contribute to the Superstitious trophy, which requires all 30 Charms total — the 5 Pierced Coins count toward that number alongside the 25 regular Charms from chests.
None of the Theseus’ Echoes are missable. If you reach the end of the game without finding one, you can go back and grab it through Chapter Select at any point without losing any progress.

How to Recognize an Axe Chalice
Axe Chalices are carved stone structures with a double-headed axe motif — a symbol tied heavily to the Minoan setting of the game. They appear in small alcoves, side rooms, or short detours just off the main story path. You won’t stumble across them naturally if you follow the objective marker without looking around.
When you get close to one, a button prompt appears to interact with it. Do so and Sophia will reach out to touch it, triggering a short audio flashback. The Pierced Coin Charm is then added to your collection automatically.
All five are tucked into areas that require a brief detour — none are in the middle of the critical path, and some require you to take a specific door or climb before you can reach them.
All 5 Theseus’ Echo Locations
Theseus’ Echo 1 — Chapter 5: Desolation It Wrought
Sub-Chapter 3 — The Four Symbols
Active Objective: Find the Second Symbol
This one is in the large central temple area of Chapter 5 where four pedestals correspond to four doors, each leading to a separate trial. When you’re standing in the room with the four pedestals, look above each doorway for the symbol carved above the gate. Take the path marked with the “O with 3 lines” symbol above its gate.
Cross the bridge on that path and then stick to the leftmost route. Keep following it, climbing over rocks and keeping left at each fork, until you reach a ladder. Climb the ladder to the top of the area. You’ll encounter a group of enemies here — defeat them all. Once they’re down, look around the upper area for the Axe Chalice statue and interact with it to claim Pierced Coin 1.

Sub-Chapter 5 — The Architect
Active Objective: Follow Daedalus’ Shortcut
After a cutscene where Sophia approaches a petrified person standing near a cliff, you’ll receive Daedalus’ Key. Use the key to open the green gate in the next corridor. You’ll come to a dark section of path with a door on your right — that right door is the story route forward, but don’t go through it yet.
Instead, drop down the cliff to the left of your current position. At the bottom, walk straight ahead to a door at the far end of the short passage — not the door on the right. Go through that far door and you’ll find the Axe Chalice inside the room. Interact with it to collect Pierced Coin 2. After that, backtrack and go through the door you skipped on the right to continue with the story.
Theseus’ Echo 3 — Chapter 7: Death It Sowed
Sub-Chapter 3 — A Stage of Skulls
Active Objective: Open One of the Doors
Progress through the black temple section of Chapter 7 until you solve a puzzle and drop down through a hole in the floor. Once you’re at the bottom, slide under the gate directly ahead of you. After getting through, use your grappling hook to swing across two grappling hook points in sequence.
After the second swing, jump to the right instead of continuing forward. You’ll land on a small ledge or platform to the right side of a large locked green gate. The Axe Chalice is there, just to the right of that green gate. Interact with it to get Pierced Coin 3. Then continue forward toward the door objective.

Theseus’ Echo 4 — Chapter 9: Night Has Come
Sub-Chapter 6 — Echoes of the Past
Active Objective: Explore Minos’ Palace
This one comes near the end of Sub-Chapter 6 while Sophia is exploring Minos’ palace in the Ancient Minoa timeline. During story progress, you’ll destroy a pedestal to reveal a beam of light. Keep following the path directly after this — shortly afterward, Sophia will squeeze through a narrow gap in the wall.
On the other side of that gap, you’ll emerge onto a balcony. Don’t continue forward along the balcony. Instead, turn left and look for a crawl space in the wall. Crouch and crawl through it. The Axe Chalice is in the small chamber on the other side of that crawl-through. Interact with it for Pierced Coin 4.
Chapter 9 is one of the most story-heavy chapters in the game and it’s easy to move too quickly here. The squeeze-through-gap moment feels like it’s pushing you forward, which is exactly why this one gets missed. Slow down after the gap and check left before going anywhere else.
Theseus’ Echo 5 — Chapter 10: Parallel Paths
Sub-Chapter 3 — Daedalus’ Workshop
Active Objective: Explore Daedalus’ Workshop
When you enter Daedalus’ Workshop, move forward through the main room all the way to the far side. You’ll find a glimmering Resonance Point on the floor near the bookshelves — interact with it to collect the skill point. This is your landmark for finding the Axe Chalice.
From the Resonance Point, go right and down the stairs. At the bottom, turn right again. You’ll see a large mirror hanging from chains. Jump onto the mirror platform, then look at the wall directly ahead — there’s a grappling point with an L2 / LT prompt visible. Pull on it using your grappling hook. This drops a counterweight that opens a hidden tomb upstairs.
Head back up the stairs and go into the now-open tomb entrance. The Axe Chalice is inside the tomb. Interact with it to collect Pierced Coin 5 and complete your set. This must be done before you interact with a mirror nearby for story progress — once you trigger that mirror, the area may close off temporarily, so grab the Axe Chalice first.

What Trophy Do You Get for All 5?
Collecting all five Theseus’ Echoes unlocks In the Name of My Kin — a Silver trophy on PlayStation and an Achievement on Xbox and PC. It pops automatically as soon as you interact with the fifth and final Axe Chalice, with no additional steps needed.
The five Pierced Coins also contribute to the Superstitious trophy, which requires collecting all 30 Charms in the game. If you’re working through all Charm locations, the Theseus’ Echoes count in that total, so getting In the Name of My Kin is essentially a step on the way to Superstitious.
Are Any Theseus’ Echoes Missable?
No. None of the five Theseus’ Echoes are permanently missable. All of them can be collected via Chapter Select after you’ve finished the story. When you go back to a sub-chapter and collect a missed Axe Chalice, it saves to your collection data and counts toward the trophy even after you return to your main save.
The only true missable collectible in Resonance is the Like a Warrior trophy, which requires gathering 165 of the 200 available Resonance Points in a single playthrough. Resonance Points don’t carry over in Chapter Select, so those must be collected during your main run. Everything else — Pierced Coins, Artefacts, Blades, and regular Charms — can all be cleaned up freely after credits roll.
That said, grabbing them as you go is faster than making five separate Chapter Select trips later, especially since each one is just a short detour off the story path.

Other Collectibles to Watch For in These Chapters
Since several of the Theseus’ Echoes sit in the same sub-chapters as other valuable collectibles, it’s worth doing a full sweep each time. In Chapter 5’s four-symbol area, the Greek Sword blade is hidden at a bull pillar puzzle near Echo 1. In Chapter 6, the same sub-chapter with Echo 2 contains one of the game’s harder-to-find blades in a separate optional chamber nearby.
