How to Get the Fallen Kingdom Rapier in Crimson Desert

Find out exactly how to get the Fallen Kingdom Rapier in Crimson Desert. Head to Icemoor Castle Ruins in Hernand, break through the hidden wall, and grab this powerful Damiane-exclusive weapon.

TL;DR

  • The Fallen Kingdom Rapier is hidden inside Icemoor Castle Ruins in western Hernand
  • This weapon is exclusive to Damiane — Kliff cannot equip it
  • Climb to the upper level of the ruins, follow the path right, and reach the dead end
  • Crouch through the hole in the wall and break the wooden planks with Force Palm (R3)
  • The rapier is inside the hidden room, leaning against a barrel to the left of the chest
  • It comes pre-refined to Refinement Level 5, with Attack Speed Level 2 and 3 Abyss Gear Slots

Most weapons in Crimson Desert don’t announce themselves. They sit in hidden rooms, behind breakable walls, in spots most players walk straight past. The Fallen Kingdom Rapier is one of those weapons.

It’s tucked inside Icemoor Castle Ruins — a location you’ll visit for a boss fight — but finding the rapier requires going off the main path and knowing what to look for. If you’re building Damiane and want a strong weapon early, this is one of the best you can grab. This guide covers every step.

What Is the Fallen Kingdom Rapier?

The Fallen Kingdom Rapier is a one-handed weapon exclusive to Damiane, one of the three playable characters in Crimson Desert. Rapiers are her signature weapon type and are always paired with a buckler shield in the off-hand.

The weapon’s lore describes it as a rapier inspired by a fallen kingdom’s story — with the inscription: “What winter stole long ago cannot be reclaimed. Now, I beg you, find rest with those who awaited your return.” It’s tied to an ancient civilization that once thrived in Pywel before it was lost to winter.

In terms of stats, here’s what you’re working with:

StatValue
Weapon TypeOne-Handed Rapier (Damiane only)
Base Attack9 (17 when found, pre-refined to +5)
Attack Range9–27 (across all refinement levels)
Refinement Levels11
Abyss Gear Slots3
Special EffectAttack Speed Level 2
RarityMythic

The big win here is that the rapier comes already at Refinement Level 5 when you pick it up. That means an effective attack of 17 right away — no materials needed to get it to that point. That’s a significant head start and saves you a lot of resources early.

The Attack Speed Level 2 bonus means Damiane chains strikes faster, making it easier to keep pressure on enemies and get more hits in between dodges. For more on how to use Damiane effectively, see our all characters and companions guide.

Who Can Use the Fallen Kingdom Rapier?

Only Damiane. Kliff cannot equip rapiers at all. If you’re primarily playing as Kliff, this weapon won’t be useful to you directly. There is a separate Fallen Kingdom Sword for Kliff, but unlike the rapier, it’s not a guaranteed find — it drops as random open-world loot across Hernand.

You unlock Damiane after completing Chapter 3. If you haven’t reached that point yet, you can still collect the rapier and have it ready the moment she becomes available. Learn more about how to get comrades and switch characters.

Fallen Kingdom Rapier Location

The Fallen Kingdom Rapier is found inside Icemoor Castle Ruins, located in the western part of the Hernand region. On your map, it sits roughly between the “R” and the first “N” in “Hernand.”

This is the same location where the Saigord the Staglord boss fight takes place as part of the House Serkis “Lord Amidst the Ruins” faction quest. The rapier is hidden in a concealed room behind a destructible wooden wall — easy to miss if you just cleared the boss and left.

The rapier is also in the same hidden room as the Leather Cloak of the Fallen Kingdom, so you can grab both in one trip. The Fallen Kingdom set is one of the best early armor collections in the game — check our Crimson Desert hub for the full set locations.

How to Get the Fallen Kingdom Rapier — Step by Step

Step 1: Travel to Icemoor Castle Ruins

Head to western Hernand and make your way to Icemoor Castle Ruins. The area is cold — bring food to manage environmental damage and healing supplies for the enemies patrolling inside. Check our guide on how to cook the best healing food in Crimson Desert if you need help preparing.

Enemies patrol the corridors throughout the ruins, so clear them out before exploring. Fighting while trying to navigate the upper levels can push you off broken ledges.

Step 2: Head North and Climb the Stairs

Once inside the ruins, head north. You’ll find a set of stairs. Take them up. The structure is partially collapsed with multiple levels, broken pathways, and icy patches on some surfaces — take your time and don’t rush.

Your goal is to reach the uppermost accessible level of the castle. Keep climbing broken stairs and ledges until you can’t go higher.

Step 3: Follow the Path Right and Cross the Bridge

Once you’re at the top, follow the linear path to the right and cross the bridge. Keep following the path toward the back of the castle.

Step 4: Find the Dead End and the Hole in the Wall

Continue until you hit a dead end. You’ll be facing a wall with a hole at the bottom. This is the entrance to the hidden section. It’s blocked by wooden planks and can be easy to walk past if you’re not looking at the lower half of the wall.

Step 5: Crouch Through and Break the Wooden Planks

Press L3 to crouch and enter the crawlspace. Once inside, use Force Palm (R3) to break through the wooden planks blocking the path. This opens up the hidden room beyond.

Step 6: Grab the Fallen Kingdom Rapier

Inside the room, you’ll see a treasure chest on the left side — that contains the Leather Cloak of the Fallen Kingdom. Don’t leave without checking beside it.

The Fallen Kingdom Rapier is leaning against a barrel to the left of the chest. It’s not in the chest itself — it’s sitting on the floor next to it. Walk up to it and press interact to pick it up.

Quick note: The rapier can sometimes fall over on the ground and look like a thin line. If you don’t see it upright against the barrel, scan the floor around the chest and barrel area.

Is the Fallen Kingdom Rapier Worth Getting?

Absolutely — if you’re using Damiane.

The combination of a high effective attack (17 at the point you find it, thanks to the pre-refinement), Attack Speed Level 2, and 3 Abyss Gear Slots makes it one of the strongest rapiers available in the early to mid-game. Very few weapons you can find at this stage of Crimson Desert come pre-refined, let alone to Level 5.

The speed bonus is especially useful. Rapiers already favor aggressive playstyles, and the extra attack speed makes Damiane’s 5-hit thrust combos flow more smoothly. You can chain strikes, keep pressure up on enemies, and recover quickly between swings.

It won’t carry you forever — later areas will bring stronger options — but for a significant portion of your playthrough it holds up well. The 3 Abyss Gear Slots also give you room to customize it further once you visit a Witch. To unlock Abyss sockets and learn how to use them, see our guide on unlocking Abyss Gears at the Witch.

For comparison with other Damiane-focused weapons, check out our guide on how to get the Arben Greatsword — another solid early weapon she can use.

How to Upgrade the Fallen Kingdom Rapier

Since the rapier is already at Refinement Level 5 when you find it, you have 6 more refinement levels to push it to the cap. Take it to any Blacksmith to continue refining. Each level raises the attack stat using gathered materials.

For a full breakdown of what’s needed and how the system works, see our how to reinforce equipment guide.

After unlocking the Abyss slots at a Witch, focus on:

  • Attack Speed modifiers to push combo tempo even higher
  • Life-steal effects to keep Damiane healthy during aggressive fights
  • Elemental damage to get more out of imbued attacks

For more on elemental imbuing, see our guide on how to use elemental attacks and imbue elements.

To boost your overall combat power alongside the rapier:

Don’t Leave Icemoor Without These

Since you’re already inside Icemoor Castle Ruins, it’s worth grabbing everything else in the area before you leave:

  • Leather Cloak of the Fallen Kingdom — in the chest right next to the rapier in the same hidden room
  • Staglord’s Shield — awarded after defeating Saigord the Staglord as part of the House Serkis questline
  • Tommaso Guard’s Dagger-Tipped Spear — head up the first stairs from the center of the ruins, enter the small room, and immediately turn 180 degrees to find it embedded in the wall

Clearing the ruins fully before the boss fight also gives you better gear going into the Staglord encounter itself — which makes the fight noticeably easier.

Quick Tips

  • Bring healing food before entering — the cold region deals environmental damage over time
  • Clear patrolling enemies floor by floor before exploring
  • The rapier can fall over on the floor — check around the barrel if you don’t see it upright
  • The rapier is Damiane-exclusive — Kliff cannot use it, so only collect it if you plan to play her
  • Once you have it, take it straight to a Blacksmith to push refinement from Level 5 toward the cap
