How to Start the Missing Desert Melons Quest
Head to Redsand Farm in Tashkalp Territory. This area becomes accessible once the main story takes you into the Crimson Desert region around Chapter 9, though you can reach Tommaso earlier through free exploration.
Speak with the Tommaso Guard Captain at the farm. After the conversation, you will receive the Investigative Log: Harvest of Greed in your inventory. Open your inventory and read it. Then go find the farmer Hajiv and talk to him. This officially kicks off the investigation phase.
All 5 Suspects: Where to Find Them and What They Say
You need to question five suspects. Here is where each one is and what key information they reveal.
1. Hajiv (The Farmer)
Hajiv is your starting contact. Speaking with him gives you the background on the stolen melons and points you toward the other suspects. He sets the stage for the whole investigation.
2. Luam
Luam is in the south area of Tommaso, working in the fields at Redrock Farm. The key detail he shares is that he saw Marrow meeting with Padir at dawn. This is an important piece of evidence — it places both men together at a suspicious time.
3. Padir
Padir is found a bit further south at Redrock Farm, near some workers and a wooden hut. He admits that Marrow gave him drinks the night before and that he does not remember much from that morning. This explains why the guard post was left unattended.
4. Nasir
Nasir is in the north area of the Redrock Farm in Tommaso. He tells you that Padir was drunk during his morning shift, which is not normal. He also mentions that wagon wheel tracks were spotted coming from the storage area, even though carts are not usually brought in at dawn.
5. Trenton
Trenton is found on the south side of the farm. She says she noticed signatures in the ledger, including Hajiv’s. She also heard a noise at dawn that turned out to be a cart leaving early in the morning.
6. Marrow
Marrow is in the far north of Tommaso at the Tommaso Fork Posthouse, sitting near some oak barrels. He claims he was just coming back from a late night of drinking. His alibi sounds casual, but the other testimonies tell a different story.
Unraveling Clues: All Correct Answers for the Guard Captain
Once you have talked to all five suspects, return to the Tommaso Guard Captain and select your answers in this exact order:
Answer 1: The guards never leave the warehouse unprotected.
Answer 2: Marrow and Padir were often seen speaking in front of the warehouse at dawn.
Answer 3: Lately, Marrow has been coming to the tavern often and buying me drinks to thank me.
Answer 4: They found wagon wheel tracks, but Padir got drunk during his shift.
Answer 5: He goes out late every night to pick up alcohol and comes back in the morning.
Select these answers in the order listed and the guard captain will identify the culprit correctly.
Who Stole the Desert Melons? The Culprit Is Marrow
The thief is Marrow. He deliberately got Padir drunk the night before so the guard post would be unattended. Then he used a cart to steal the desert melons at dawn while nobody was watching.
After the guard captain figures this out, travel east of Redrock Farm to find Marrow. Confront him there and bring him back to the guard captain. That completes the quest and earns you the Kinetic Knight reward item.
