TL;DR
- Five Card is a gambling minigame played exclusively in Beighen Village, north of Hernand City in Pailune — 150 silver buy-in per session
- You can visit Beighen early in the game, but it also comes up naturally during Chapter 7: Homecoming
- The fastest farming method: make a manual save before sitting down, go All-In immediately, collect if you win — reload if you lose
- With 2–3 NPC opponents all going All-In, a single winning hand returns 300–600 silver from a 150 silver investment
- Best hands to go All-In on: Prime Pair (red 3 + red 8), Superior Pair (red 1 + red 3 or red 8), Ten Pair, or any regular Pair
- AI opponents almost always call early All-In bets even with weak hands — that predictability is the whole exploit
- You can also unlock a Cheat ability by watching opponents cheat three times (same Watch and Learn system as combat skills)
- When cheating as dealer, inject a red 3 or red 8 into your hand to set up a Prime Pair
- After winning, leave the table, save, and rest at a nearby bonfire to reset opponents for the next session
- Players consistently report 200–400 silver per hour using this loop
Silver in Crimson Desert runs out faster than you expect. Gear upgrades, crafting materials, camp construction, horse equipment, cooking ingredients — everything pulls from the same wallet. Regular gameplay pays slowly, especially in the first half of the game.
The Five Card minigame in Beighen Village is the fastest way to fix that. With the right approach, a single session turns 150 silver into 300–600. This guide covers exactly where to find it, how to farm it efficiently, and how to cheat the table once you unlock the ability to do so.
What Is the Five Card Game?
Five Card is one of Crimson Desert’s gambling minigames, part of a category the game calls Mind Games. It is the higher-stakes version of the Duo card game you can play in Hernand and Tomasso.
Like Duo, Five Card is played with numbered sticks — also called cards — dealt to each player. Three of your five sticks automatically combine to equal 10, 20, or 30. Your remaining two sticks form your final hand, and the player with the strongest hand wins the pot.
Five Card adds one mechanic Duo does not have: color matters. Each stick is either red or yellow, and the best hands in the game require specific red-colored sticks. That color system creates a clear hand hierarchy and gives the cheating ability a specific target to aim for.
For the simpler version of this game and a beginner-friendly way to practice hand recognition first, see our Duo Card Game guide.
Five Card Location — Beighen Village

The Five Card table is found in Beighen Village, located north of Hernand City in the Pailune region. The gambling den is a small one-room shack on the outskirts of the village.
You will pass through Beighen automatically during Chapter 7: Homecoming. But the village is reachable earlier in the game if you travel there on your own — you do not need to wait for the story to bring you here.
The buy-in is 150 silver per session. You need at least that much in your wallet before you can sit down. The number of NPC opponents at the table each session is random — anywhere from one to three. More opponents at the table means a bigger potential pot when everyone goes All-In.
Use our fast travel guide to get to Beighen quickly on return trips once you have unlocked the nearby Abyss Nexus waypoint.

Five Card Hand Rankings
Before jumping into the farming loop, knowing which hands are worth going All-In on makes the whole process faster. Here is the full hierarchy from strongest to weakest:
1. Prime Pair — Red 3 + Red 8. The single strongest hand in the game. Guaranteed win against everything else, no exceptions. If you have this, go All-In without hesitation.
2. Superior Pair — Red 1 + either a Red 3 or Red 8. Second best. Still very strong, and worth going All-In on immediately.
3. Ten Pair — Two 10s of any color. Solid hand. Go All-In.
4. Pair — Any matching pair regardless of color. Higher numbers beat lower numbers, so a pair of 9s is better than a pair of 2s. Still worth going All-In on early in the round.
5. One-Plus Combinations — A 1 of any color combined with one specific number. Ranked in descending order: 1+2 is the strongest, then 1+4, then 1+9, then 1+10. These are weaker hands. Use your judgment on whether to go All-In depending on how many opponents are left and how the betting is playing out.
Special Hands — Warden and High Warden — These do not outright win but can force a rematch. You can largely ignore these for the farming strategy since the save-scum method makes edge cases irrelevant.
Remember: Red sticks are significantly more valuable in Five Card than yellow. When assessing your hand, check the colors first, then the numbers.
The Save-Scum Farming Strategy
This is the core method that players use to turn Five Card into a reliable silver printer. It does not require understanding the full game deeply. It just requires a manual save and a willingness to reload.
The exploit works because of one AI behavior: NPC opponents almost always call early All-In bets even when they are holding weak hands. They rarely open the betting themselves, but when you go All-In in the first round or two, they tend to call — even with bad cards. That predictability removes most of the risk from the equation.
Step 1: Make a manual save outside the gambling den. Do this every single time before you sit down. If you do not save manually, you cannot reload after a loss. This step is not optional.
Step 2: Sit down and pay the 150 silver buy-in.
Step 3: Look at your hand. If you have a Pair or better — especially a Prime Pair, Superior Pair, or Ten Pair — go All-In immediately using the All-In prompt. Do not overthink it.
Step 4: Wait for opponents to decide. Each NPC at the table will choose to call, raise, or fold. In the early rounds, most call even on weak hands. The more who call, the larger the pot you are playing for.
Step 5a — If you win: Collect your earnings. Leave the table. Save your game immediately. Rest at the nearby bonfire to pass time and cycle the NPC lineup, then return for another session.
Step 5b — If you lose: Reload your manual save. You are back to where you started with 150 silver intact. Sit back down and try again.
What to do with a weak hand: If you are dealt a poor hand with no pair and no premium combination, do not go All-In blindly. Check or wait instead. Let the round play out. The save-scum method is most effective when you only go All-In on hands that are genuinely strong.
One important timing note: The AI plays more conservatively in later rounds and once opponents have been knocked out. The best pots happen in the first one or two rounds when the full table is still active. If the session drags into late rounds with one opponent left, the gains slow significantly. At that point, winning what you can and reloading for a fresh session is often more efficient.
Players using this loop consistently report 200–400 silver per hour. A single winning round with three opponents all going All-In can return 450–600 silver from one 150 silver buy-in.

How to Unlock and Use the Cheat Ability
Five Card also has a legitimate cheat mechanic built into it — and it stacks on top of the save-scum strategy to make your winning rounds even more reliable.
How to unlock it:
The cheat ability uses the same Watch and Learn system that teaches you combat skills by observing enemies. Play enough Five Card sessions and eventually one of your NPC opponents will glow with a blue outline during a match. This is the signal that they are cheating and you can observe the behavior.
Watch an opponent cheat three separate times to permanently unlock the Cheat ability for Kliff. You can accuse them the moment you see them doing it, but it is smarter to wait and observe rather than cut the learning short.
How to use it:
The cheat ability only activates when Kliff is the dealer — meaning you need to win the previous round first, since the winner becomes dealer for the next hand.
When it is your deal, hold the Hide Hand prompt during card dealing. The game pauses and lets you select one specific number and color to inject directly into your hand. That stick is guaranteed to appear in your final five cards.
What to pick: In Five Card, always target Red 3 or Red 8. Either one puts you one card away from the Prime Pair — the automatic win. If both appear naturally in your hand, you cannot lose. If only one appears, you still likely have a Superior Pair or a high Pair, which is still a very strong position.
The cheat ability cannot be used every round — only when you are dealing. But on the rounds where it applies, it dramatically increases your odds of holding a premium hand before you go All-In.
Accusing opponents of cheating:
Other players at the table can cheat too. If an opponent is dealing cards and you suspect foul play, you can hold the Accuse button to call them out.
If your accusation is correct, that player is removed from the match. If you are wrong, Kliff gets temporarily banned from the Beighen gambling den for roughly two in-game days. That ban is annoying but not catastrophic — just rest at a campfire to pass time and it clears. Be selective about when you accuse. Only do it when you are fairly confident, not as a guess.
Tips to Maximize Your Silver Per Hour
Start with enough silver to survive a few reloads. If you only have 150 silver and lose, you have nothing left to buy back in with. Have at least 300–450 before starting a serious farming session so a bad streak does not strand you.
Three opponents at the table is the sweet spot. More opponents means a much larger pot when everyone goes All-In. If you sit down and only one NPC is there, the payout ceiling is lower. Some players reload specifically to get a fuller table, though this is optional.
Save after every win — not just at the start. Once you collect a pot, save immediately before starting the next session. This locks in your gains so a future loss only costs you one session rather than rolling back multiple wins.
Reset the table between sessions. After winning, leave the gambling den entirely and rest at the nearby bonfire to pass in-game time. This cycles the NPC opponents and gives you a fresh table lineup for the next buy-in.
Use this alongside other money-making methods. Five Card is the fastest single silver source, but combining it with selling ore, completing bounties, and looting enemy drops keeps your income flowing even when you are not at the gambling table. If you are new to the game and have very little starting silver, the Spire of Insight is a good place to get your initial funds up before committing to the Five Card buy-in. See our Spire of Insight puzzle guide for what is inside.
What to Spend Your Silver On
Once you have a healthy stack of silver, here is where it makes the biggest difference in your progression:
Gear upgrades at the Blacksmith — Refinement is the most impactful use of silver early on. Push your weapons and armor up as high as the available materials allow. Our how to reinforce equipment guide covers the full process. For early refinements, you can also use Hernand Refinement Tokens to skip material costs on upgrades up to Level 4 — see our Hernand Refinement Token guide for details.
Inventory expansion — More inventory space means you can carry more loot and stay out in the world longer before needing to return to town. See our how to increase inventory space guide.
Crafting materials from vendors — Some vendors in the Crimson Desert region sell mid-tier ores like Scolecite. Buying them saves time over farming. Our Scolecite Ore guide covers the full picture.
Gold bars at the bank — If you accumulate more silver than you need immediately, converting it to gold bars at the bank preserves value at a better rate than leaving loose silver sitting around. Our gold bars guide explains the exchange system.
