Where Is the Spire of Insight in Crimson Desert
The Spire of Insight is in the Steel Mountains area of the Demeniss region, east of the Eastern Goblin Camp. It’s a massive stone tower. You can spot it from far away.
There’s an Abyss Nexus southwest of the tower. Use it to set a fast travel waypoint nearby before you head in.
One thing to know before you arrive: the tower is controlled by the Fundamentalist Goblin faction on your first visit. Clear them out first. They’re not a hard fight. Once the area is clean, you can focus on the puzzle.
How to Open the Spire of Insight Entrance Door

The entrance is blocked by thick thorny vines. You can’t cut or push through them.
Use Blinding Flash to burn them. Enter the Blinding Flash stance and press the Focus button. It’s shown in the lower-right corner of your screen. This fires a concentrated beam of light that clears the vines.
Not sure how Blinding Flash works? We have a full guide on how to use Blinding Flash in Crimson Desert. And if the HUD is confusing you, check our Crimson Desert HUD explained guide.
Once the vines are gone, you’ll see the first riddle at the entrance:
“When the bones of the earth awaken from their long silence and find their place, time begins to flow once more.”

Look for small pebbles on the ground near the entryway. Pick them up. Then use your Aim key — Ctrl on keyboard, L1 on PlayStation — and manually place the pebbles onto the basin next to the door. The door opens.
You’ll repeat this pick-up-and-place mechanic on every floor.
Spire of Insight Floor 1 Riddle – Gravestone Location

The first floor is a big room full of shelves. In the center sits a raised wooden platform. It has more shelves, a large golden chalice, and a big book. We’ll call this the Elevator — it moves you between floors.
Read the book on the Elevator. The riddle says:
“Even after many years have passed, the traces left behind revive forgotten tales.”
You need a Gravestone. Find it on the desk to the right of the chalice, next to a colorful painting. It glows faintly. Pick it up and place it into the chalice.
The chalice glows, lifts, and the Elevator rises to the second floor.
Before going up, search the shelves and cabinets around the room. There’s a crafting manual for bows in here. Look for the book icon on your HUD. Not sure what to do with crafting manuals when you find them? See our guide on what to do with learned recipes and blueprints in Crimson Desert.
Spire of Insight Floor 2 Riddle – Pen Tip and Telescope Locations

The second floor is smaller and packed with shelves. The riddle reads:
“Records filled with wisdom guide us on the past, while tools that look to distant places illuminate the future.”
You need two items: a Pen Tip and a Telescope.
The Pen Tip is on a desk southeast of the chalice, underneath a large window. The Telescope is on the opposite side of the floor, southwest of the chalice, on a desk near a bookshelf with a ladder.
Pick both up and place them into the chalice. The Elevator activates and takes you to the third floor.
Spire of Insight Floor 3 Riddle – Sundial, Map Rotator, and Celestial Locations

The third floor is the smallest room in the spire. Books are everywhere. The riddle reads:
“The dance of the heavens, the turning of the earth, and the march of time all point to a single truth.”
You need three items: a Sundial, a Small Map Rotator, and a Celestial. Here’s exactly where each one is:
- Celestial — on the ground between two bookshelves, underneath a window
- Small Map Rotator — to the right of the Celestial, on the third shelf up from the ground
- Sundial — on the third shelf up from the ground, next to the ladder
Place all three into the chalice. The Elevator takes you to the very top.
Don’t skip this: There’s a crafting book for two-handed weapons on this floor, plus an Alchemy recipe for crafting Gold Bars. The recipe is pinned to a shelf near where you found the Celestial. Gold Bars are one of the best ways to earn Silver early. Check our how to make money fast in Crimson Desert guide for more tips.
What’s at the Top of the Spire of Insight
If you haven’t progressed far enough in the main story, the top floor is empty.
If you have, you’ll find an Abyss Gate. Going through it takes you into the Spire of Insight Chaos Forest — one of the sky island areas in the game.
From there, use Nature’s Grasp to lift the doorway ahead. You’ll arrive at a courtyard covered in thorns. Burn them with Blinding Flash again. This reveals a pool of water and a circuit socket.
Place the circuit over the socket using Axiom Force, then stand on the pillar block and use Force Palm to slot it in. That creates the connection and completes the Chaos Forest section.
