CYRENE
Build Guide – Best Relics, Light Cone & Teams
✦ S+ TIER CHRYSOS HEIR SUPPORT ✦Daughter of Aedes Elysiae · Nurturer of the Chrysos Heirs, Poet of Thirteen Hues
Cyrene is a 5-star Ice Remembrance character and the final Chrysos Heir of Amphoreus — a deeply narrative figure whose identity is entwined with Mem and the Remembrance Trailblazer. Released in Version 3.7 (November 2025) and available on rerun in HSR 4.0 (February 2026), Cyrene is the most mechanically unique support character in the game, featuring dedicated, individually designed buffs (“Odes”) for every single Chrysos Heir from the Amphoreus storyline. She is rated S+ Tier in Chrysos Heir and Remembrance team compositions.
Her core identity is built on the Recollection resource — a stack system fuelled by her own actions and by allies who hold her “Future” status. Reaching 24 Recollection triggers her first Ultimate — one of the most explosive opening moves in HSR: summoning her Memosprite Demiurge, activating all ally Ultimates simultaneously, and entering the “Ripples of Past Reverie” state permanently for the rest of battle. Her Skill deploys a Zone that deals True DMG equal to 24% of every damage instance by allies. Her passive grants a constant +20% DMG to all allies. After hitting 180 SPD, a further passive +20% DMG activates. In Chrysos Heir teams, she is the glue that holds the entire composition together — accelerating rotations, applying tailored Odes, and providing an unmatched True DMG amplification layer.
Core Mechanics Explained
⚠ Critical Anti-Synergy: Phainon’s Transformation
Phainon’s Ultimate temporarily removes all allies from the field during his Transformation — during this window, Future stacks cannot be consumed, Cyrene cannot act, and Recollection generation halts. If running Phainon + Cyrene, you must prevent Phainon from using his transformation Ultimate until after Cyrene’s first Ultimate has fired and his Ode is applied. Prydwen states this pairing requires “strange things like using RMC’s Mem support buff on Cyrene for extra turns while Cyrene spams Skill” just to reach first Ultimate in time. This is manageable but adds significant rotation friction. Sunday + Tribbie + Huohuo remains a simpler, more fluid Phainon team for most players.
Recollection Generation Guide
Team composition is the single largest factor in how fast Cyrene reaches her first Ultimate. The more Remembrance characters in the team, the more starting Recollection she receives and the more per-turn Recollection she gains from Future stacks and non-consuming Memosprite stacks.
♪ The First-Ultimate Double Ode Window
Cyrene’s first Ultimate requires 24 Recollection and costs 24. After use, she is in Ripples state where the threshold drops to 12. If she accumulates 12 more Recollection quickly (common in Remembrance teams where allies act frequently), she can use her Ultimate again shortly after — applying two separate Ode buffs in the same opening burst. In practice, plan which two Chrysos Heirs receive priority Odes in this window: for Castorice + Evernight, apply Castorice’s Ode (Newbud overflow) and Evernight’s Ode (Memosprite CRIT DMG) first. For Mydei, save the first Ode for the moment he enters Vendetta state to maximise the +200% CRIT DMG window.
Chrysos Heir Ode Buffs — Complete Reference
After Cyrene uses her Ultimate in Ripples state, Demiurge uses “This Ode, to All Lives” — targeting any ally. Chrysos Heirs receive their unique Ode buff. Non-Chrysos Heirs receive +40% DMG for 2 turns instead. Priority order depends on your team — prioritise the Odes that provide permanent or most immediately impactful value first.
✦ Ode Application Strategy — Priority Framework
First double-Ode window (fastest to apply = highest permanent value): In Castorice + Evernight teams → Castorice then Evernight. In Mydei teams → hold until Mydei enters Vendetta, then apply. In Aglaea teams → apply at the start of Supreme Stance.
Subsequent Odes (every ~3–4 turns): Re-apply one-time Odes first (Mydei, Anaxa) to chain their effects. Then refresh any timed buffs. Then apply remaining permanent Odes. Non-Chrysos Heirs (Sunday, Tribbie, Pela) receive a generic +40% DMG for 2 turns — apply to them only when all Chrysos Heir Odes are covered.
Demiurge self-Ode: When all Chrysos Heir Odes are active and no re-applications are needed, targeting Demiurge with the Memosprite Skill triggers a self-buff that increases Demiurge’s AoE damage — a low-priority option for optimising Demiurge’s “Waltz of Flowers and Arrows” output.
Best Light Cones
This Love, Forever
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Signature — Best in Slot
Why it’s #1 — the SPD is everything: Game8 confirms: “the main reason you should pull this LC is the SPD bonus.” At S1 it provides: (1) +18% SPD — the primary and decisive reason to pull. SPD is Cyrene’s most important stat and 18% from a single Light Cone dramatically bridges the gap to 180 and 200 SPD without over-investing in relic substats; (2) up to +16% vulnerability (enemies take increased damage) — activates when Cyrene uses her own buff via Memosprite Skill, applying a teamwide damage amplification on top of her existing stack; (3) ~25% team-wide CRIT DMG increase — a passive buff for all allies requiring Cyrene to use her Memosprite Skill normally, which she does constantly in Ripples state.
LDShop analysis: “S1 gives 18% SPD and up to 16% vulnerability and around 25% CRIT DMG to the whole team.” Community consensus from Game8, Prydwen, and KQM all confirm: E0S1 > E1S0 — the signature’s SPD is a hard mechanical enabler, not just a stat bonus. It immediately addresses Cyrene’s ramp-up problem by giving her more turns to accumulate Recollection. Without it, reaching 180 SPD from relic substats alone requires perfect relic rolling.
Memory’s Curtain Never Falls
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Herta Store — Best F2P Option
Best Non-Signature Alternative: The 5-star Remembrance Light Cone purchasable with Dream Shards from the Herta Store (Simulated Universe). Provides meaningful SPD% and HP% — the two stats Cyrene cares about most. Game8 states: “If you have Memory’s Curtain Never Falls and no one is using it, then it will work more than enough for Cyrene.” At approximately 85–90% effectiveness of the signature for Cyrene’s core function, it is the go-to target for F2P players.
The HP% from this LC scales Demiurge’s Max HP (which boosts “Waltz of Flowers and Arrows” AoE damage) and Cyrene’s survivability. The trade-off vs the signature: notably less SPD (making 180 SPD harder to reach from relics alone) and no enemy vulnerability or team CRIT DMG buffs. Farm the Herta Store first if you don’t plan to pull the signature banner.
Amphoreus, The Eternal Land (Planar-adjacent LC)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Featured LC — If AvailableNew in 4.0 — Noteworthy Alternative: LDShop specifically calls out the Amphoreus, The Eternal Land planar ornament set (not a Light Cone but associated with the 4.0 era) as providing CRIT Rate increase and SPD increase to all allies when Cyrene’s Memosprite is on the field — exactly the stats Cyrene needs. As a LC option in 4.0, if any newly released Remembrance LC provides substantial SPD in the 4.0 banner window, it should be evaluated alongside Memory’s Curtain. Always check current banner offerings for SPD-granting Remembrance LCs before defaulting to older alternatives.
4-Star SPD Options (Placeholder)
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4-Star — Transition OnlyPlaceholder While Farming: Any 4-star LC that provides SPD or HP% is acceptable as a temporary option while farming Memory’s Curtain from the Herta Store. The specific 4-star matters far less than reaching the 180 SPD breakpoint. VideoGamer.com’s guide summarises the priority correctly: “You must reach 180 SPD with Cyrene, or if possible 200 SPD. Once you have both SPD and HP in place, CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG are pleasant bonuses.” If a 4-star LC helps reach 180 SPD that a 5-star does not, use the 4-star until Memory’s Curtain is obtained.
✦ LC Investment Decision — E0S1 vs E1S0 vs E2
Community consensus from Game8, KQM, and LDShop: E0S1 > E1S0. The signature’s 18% SPD directly solves Cyrene’s fundamental bottleneck (slow ramp-up to first Ultimate) immediately and in every fight. E1 provides +6 Recollection after each Memosprite Skill use — meaningful but slower to manifest and less universally impactful than raw SPD. However, E2 is the most impactful Eidolon — granting +12 starting Recollection (nearly solving the ramp-up problem completely in any team) and increasing the Zone’s True DMG multiplier. For dedicated players: pursue E0S1 first, then E2S1 as the long-term commitment goal.
Best Relics & Planar Ornaments
2-Piece SPD Combination — Any Two SPD Sets ✦ Best in Slot
Consensus across all sources (Game8, Prydwen, LDShop, Mobalytics, KQM): Cyrene’s relic build is conceptually simple but demanding to execute. No 4-piece relic set effect outweighs the value of +12% SPD from two 2-piece SPD sets for Cyrene’s role. She gains no meaningful bonus from available 4-piece effects that competes with raw speed. The 2-piece + 2-piece combination is universally recommended. LDShop: “Getting 180 SPD is not easy even with a SPD Light Cone — pair her with 2pc + 2pc SPD for the extra SPD you need.”
Sub-stat priority for all 4 pieces: SPD > HP% > CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG > Flat HP. Every SPD sub-stat roll directly reduces how many cycles before the first Ultimate. HP% scales Demiurge (100% of Cyrene’s Max HP) and her survivability. CRIT Rate matters for the Ode to Genesis scaling (Cyrene’s CRIT Rate = Mem’s bonus CRIT Rate) and Enhanced Basic ATK in Ripples state.
Amphoreus, The Eternal Land ✦ Best Planar Ornament
LDShop specifically endorses this as Cyrene’s best planar: “The Amphoreus, The Eternal Land featuring a CRIT increase and SPD increase to all allies when memosprite on field — these are exactly the stats Cyrene wants, making it easier to reach 100% CRIT Rate and 180 SPD.” Since Demiurge is summoned after the first Ultimate and remains permanently on the field for the rest of battle, the planar bonus is active for the vast majority of combat. The team-wide SPD bonus also benefits allies’ action frequency, compounding Recollection generation further. This is the go-to planar for HSR 4.0 Cyrene builds.
Sprightly Vonwacq Strong Alt — Early Action
Before Amphoreus, The Eternal Land was available, Vonwacq was Cyrene’s standard BIS planar. Its 50% Action Advance at battle start means Cyrene acts before nearly all other characters on Turn 1 — distributing Future stacks to all allies immediately and beginning Recollection accumulation from the first possible moment. This has a compounding effect on ramp-up time. If you do not have Amphoreus, The Eternal Land, Vonwacq remains an excellent alternative — the early action it provides in Cycle 1 meaningfully reduces time-to-first-Ultimate. The +5% ERR is a minor bonus (Cyrene doesn’t use Energy). Use Vonwacq if Amphoreus ornament is unavailable or has poor sub-stats.
Bone Collection’s Serene Demesne HP + CRIT DMG Option
LDShop lists this as a viable alternative “for more offensive Cyrene” — the +12% HP scales Demiurge and the +28% CRIT DMG to Cyrene and Demiurge enhances both Cyrene’s Enhanced Basic ATK damage in Ripples state and the Ode to Genesis scaling for Remembrance Trailblazer’s Mem. Best used if: (a) you have excellent Bone Collection pieces with SPD sub-stats, and (b) you’re running a team where Demiurge’s AoE damage output is a meaningful contribution. Weaker than Amphoreus or Vonwacq for Cyrene’s support functions but valid as an offensive sub-DPS-focused build.
Stat Priorities & Build Targets
Main Stat Recommendations by Piece
✦ The 180 SPD Breakpoint — Non-Negotiable
Cyrene’s A2 trace activates at 180 SPD, providing a passive +20% DMG to all allies on top of her base kit’s +20% passive — creating a +40% team DMG aura active from Turn 1. The 180 threshold also grants an extra action in Cycle 1 (with Vonwacq’s action advance or general speed advantage), which translates to 3+ extra Recollection before the first Ultimate window. Without 180 SPD, you’re losing both a major team buff and significant Recollection acceleration simultaneously. LDShop states: “The third major trace [A2 at 180 SPD] is more important than any effect a relic set can give you.” Treat 180 SPD as a prerequisite, not a goal.
Trace & Skill Priority
- Memosprite Skill — “This Ode, to All Lives” (Lv.10 — Absolute First Priority): The Memosprite Skill is what applies Chrysos Heir Ode buffs — the defining feature of Cyrene’s entire kit. Every level increases the magnitude of each Ode’s effects: CRIT DMG percentages, DMG amplifiers, DEF ignore values, and Energy restoration amounts all scale with Memosprite Skill level. LDShop is blunt: “Level her Memosprite Skill first or you are trolling.” Max this immediately and treat it as non-negotiable. Cyrene without a high-level Memosprite Skill is significantly underpowered regardless of all other investments.
- Skill — “Bloom, Elysium of Beyond” (Lv.10 — First Priority tied): The Skill increases the True DMG percentage of the Zone — from 24% at base, scaling higher at max level. Since the Zone fires on every single instance of ally damage and True DMG bypasses enemy DEF entirely, each percentage point of True DMG scaling is highly valuable. In teams with high-frequency multi-hit attackers (Castorice, Anaxa, Evernight’s Evey), the Zone’s True DMG compounds enormously. Max alongside Memosprite Skill. Lootbar.gg confirms Skill and Talent share the same priority as “the most impactful for support capabilities.”
- Talent — “Waiting, In Every Past” (Lv.8–10): Governs Demiurge’s “Waltz of Flowers and Arrows” AoE damage scaling and the Story stack mechanics. Higher Talent levels increase Demiurge’s burst damage output. Level to 8 as an intermediate goal after Memosprite Skill and Skill are maxed; push to 10 when trace materials allow.
- Bonus Abilities — All Three (Mandatory — Unlock in Order): A4 first (Ripples Across Time): Grants +1/2/3 starting Recollection per Chrysos Heir/Remembrance ally (up to +6) — directly reduces time to first Ultimate. A2 second (Child of Remembrance): Memosprite Future is never consumed — enables the permanent Recollection generation engine. A6 third: Adds +20% team DMG at 180 SPD — the third trace is the most important passive activation. All three must be unlocked as soon as character ascension allows; none are optional.
- Ultimate (Lv.6+): Cyrene’s Ultimate is primarily a mechanic trigger (first Ultimate: summon Demiurge, activate all ally Ultimates, enter Ripples; subsequent: grant Demiurge extra turn for Ode application) rather than a direct damage ability. Level increases the CRIT Rate bonus in Ripples state and minor Demiurge effects. Level to 6 minimum; less urgency than Memosprite Skill, Skill, and Talent.
- Basic ATK / Enhanced Basic ATK (Lv.1–6): Cyrene uses Basic ATK for Recollection (+1 each). Enhanced Basic ATK in Ripples state deals AoE Ice DMG and grants +3 Recollection. The damage output is secondary to the Recollection. Level to 6 as a moderate goal for slight damage improvement on Enhanced Basic ATK but never above Memosprite Skill, Skill, or Talent in investment priority.
Eidolons Guide
| Eidolon | Name & Effect | Rating | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| E0 | Base Kit — Full Recollection system, Future mechanic (permanent Memosprite stacks via A2), +20% passive team DMG, +40% at 180 SPD, True DMG Zone (24% per hit), first Ultimate (fills all ally bars + Ripples state), all Chrysos Heir Ode buffs, Demiurge Memosprite | Baseline S+ Tier | E0 Cyrene is fully S+ Tier in Chrysos Heir teams. E0S0 with Memory’s Curtain achieves ~85–90% of optimal. E0S1 (signature) is the recommended first investment — SPD solves her primary weakness immediately. |
| E1 | Name: “Verse Verse Verse…” — After using Memosprite Skill “Minuet of Blooms and Plumes,” gain +6 Recollection. Additionally, the number of bonus damage bounces of “Minuet of Blooms and Plumes” increases by 12. | Solid Upgrade | +6 Recollection after each Memosprite Skill significantly accelerates subsequent Ultimate cycling — reducing the gap between Ode applications. The +12 bonus bounces increase Demiurge’s AoE personal damage. Lootbar confirms: “investing in E1 is not a bad choice.” However E0S1 still outperforms E1S0 — signature’s SPD provides more immediate and consistent benefit. E1S1 is the ideal stopping point for most players. |
| E2 | Name: “Rhyme Rhyme Rhyme…” — At battle start, additionally gain +12 Recollection. For each different ally character that gains the Memosprite Skill buff from Demiurge, the DMG multiplier of True DMG dealt by the Zone increases by +6%, up to a maximum of +24% (with 4 unique buffed allies). | Highest Priority Eidolon | Lootbar: “E2 is the highest priority Eidolon — gives 12 Recollection stacks at start of combat which helps ramp-up, the biggest problem of Cyrene.” With +12 starting Recollection (added to the A4 trace bonus of up to +6), Cyrene can enter battle with 18 Recollection — needing only 6 more from early actions for the first Ultimate. This nearly eliminates the ramp-up problem in any team. The +24% True DMG Zone increase makes the True DMG layer one of the most powerful continuous effects in the game. E0S1 → E2S1 is the recommended committed investment path. |
| E3 | Name: “Stanza Stanza Stanza…” — Ultimate Lv. +2 (max Lv.15), Talent Lv. +2 (max Lv.15), Memosprite Skill Lv. +2 (max Lv.15) | Incremental | Higher Memosprite Skill levels increase all Ode buff magnitudes — meaningful compound improvement. En route to E4–E6 for whales. Not a standalone target. |
| E4 | Name: “Couplet Couplet Couplet…” — After Demiurge uses “Waltz of Flowers and Arrows,” all ally Memosprites gain +6% DMG bonus for each Story stack consumed, up to a maximum of +24% total Memosprite DMG (at 4 Story stacks consumed) | Memosprite Focus | Lootbar: “E4 is probably the least priority” — only impactful in teams with multiple strong Memosprites. Valuable specifically in the full 4-Memosprite Remembrance team (Castorice’s Spe·Mem, Evernight’s Evey, Hyacine’s Little Ica, Demiurge). En route to E6. |
| E5 | Name: “Refrain Refrain Refrain…” — Skill Lv. +2 (max Lv.15), Basic ATK Lv. +1 (max Lv.10) | Minor | Higher Skill level increases True DMG Zone percentage — every level is meaningful given how many hits the Zone fires on each turn. En route to E6. |
| E6 | Name: “Finale Finale Finale…” — On first Ultimate: advance all allies’ actions by +100% and reduce enemies’ DEF by 20%. On subsequent Ultimates: advance all allies’ actions by +24%. After Cyrene uses Ultimate, Cyrene’s and Demiurge’s Max HP increases by +24%. | Maximum Power | The first-Ultimate 100% team action advance grants the entire team a free extra turn at the most critical moment of battle — an effect with no equivalent in HSR. The 20% enemy DEF reduction is permanent. Subsequent +24% advance on every Ode application keeps the team acting at a pace far above any opposition. E6 Cyrene is among the most powerful support characters ever released. Reserved exclusively for players fully committed to Chrysos Heir teams as a permanent main focus. |
✦ Investment Roadmap — Community Consensus
E0S1 first — Signature LC’s 18% SPD addresses ramp-up immediately and in every single fight. More impactful than E1 for most players. E2S1 is the ideal long-term target — E2’s +12 starting Recollection solves the primary weakness (slow first Ultimate) and the +24% True DMG Zone scaling makes the Zone a game-defining continuous damage effect. The community (Prydwen, KQM, Lootbar, Game8) consistently rates: E0S1 > E1S0, and E2 as the highest priority Eidolon. Stop at E2S1 unless pursuing E6 specifically for the team-wide action advance. The jump from E5→E6 is Cyrene’s most dramatic power spike.
Best Team Compositions
The Elysian Quartet — Full Remembrance
The meta-defining Remembrance composition of HSR 4.0. All four characters are Remembrance path — meaning Cyrene receives +6 starting Recollection (3 allies × +2 each), all four Memosprites generate permanent Recollection via A2 trace, and the entire team’s actions simultaneously fuel Cyrene’s rotation. VideoGamer describes this as one of the game’s premier compositions: “Castorice and Evernight are the Chrysos Heirs, providing Recollection. Cyrene is the primary damage support, fully charging everyone’s Ultimate once she uses her own.”
On first Ultimate, Cyrene applies Ode to Life and Death (Castorice’s Newbud overflow to 200%) and rapidly follows with Ode to Creation (Evernight’s Memosprite CRIT DMG amplification across all four Memosprites). Combined with Evernight’s +20% All-Type RES PEN, Cyrene’s +40% team DMG at 180 SPD, Hyacine’s +20% RES PEN from Little Ica, and the True DMG Zone firing on every multi-hit Memosprite attack — this team achieves multiplicative damage amplification across all four dimensions simultaneously. The highest-damage Remembrance team in current meta.
Ode priority: Castorice (Newbud overflow) → Evernight (Memosprite CRIT DMG) → re-apply as needed.
God-Slaying Verse — Mydei Vendetta
The team where Cyrene provides arguably the single most impactful individual Ode in the game. Ode to Strife — applied during Mydei’s Vendetta state — grants +200% CRIT DMG on a free “Godslayer Be God” without consuming Charge. The CC dispel protection is equally critical in boss content that applies control mid-Vendetta. Mobalytics lists Cyrene as Mydei’s best support, outperforming Sunday and Tribbie specifically for this team.
Cyrene’s passive +40% team DMG aura and True DMG Zone amplify all of Mydei’s attacks. Her first Ultimate fills Mydei’s bar (triggering Vendetta immediately on Turn 1), at which point Cyrene applies the Ode to Strife for the maximum-duration buff. Hyacine provides Max HP inflation via After Rain (+30–80% Max HP) which directly scales Mydei’s HP-based damage. Remembrance Trailblazer provides Mem’s actions for additional Recollection generation and team support.
Supreme Reverie — Aglaea
VideoGamer calls this “carrying through all kinds of endgame content.” Cyrene, Aglaea, and Hyacine are all Chrysos Heirs — granting +5 starting Recollection (2 Remembrance + 1 Chrysos Heir). Cyrene’s first Ultimate fills Aglaea’s Ultimate bar, enabling Supreme Stance on Turn 1. Cyrene then immediately applies Ode to Romance — +72% DMG, 36% DEF ignore, instant max Garmentmaker SPD, and +70 Energy to Aglaea — at the very start of Supreme Stance to maximise buff duration.
Sunday simultaneously advances Aglaea and Garmentmaker, providing CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG. Hyacine provides healing, After Rain HP buff, and energy restoration to help chain Aglaea’s next Ultimate before Supreme Stance expires. Cyrene’s True DMG Zone fires on every Aglaea attack and every Garmentmaker follow-up, creating a constant True DMG amplification layer throughout Supreme Stance windows. Game8 and VideoGamer both rank this as Aglaea’s best composition in 4.0.
Revelation’s Cascade — Anaxa Erudition
The team that showcases Cyrene’s most mechanically spectacular interaction. Ode to Revelation grants Anaxa a 100% Action Advance (extra free turn), +1 SP, and +40% Skill DMG. With Cerydra’s Coup de Main active, Anaxa’s Skill can bounce between 8–32 times — each bounce a separate damage instance, each instance independently triggering Cyrene’s True DMG Zone (+24% True DMG per hit). KQM calls this “the most mechanically exciting combo in HSR 4.0.”
Cyrene’s first Ultimate fills both Anaxa’s and Cerydra’s Ultimates simultaneously, enabling Cerydra’s Coup de Main chain on Turn 1. The +60% ATK from Ode to Revelation benefits all Erudition characters in the team. Cyrene also applies Ode to Valiance to Cerydra (5-charge Peerage activation instead of 6 = one free extra Coup de Main per fight). Mobalytics: “For Mydei / Anaxa mains, Cyrene will also be a great upgrade, especially if they have Cerydra to pair.”
Verse of Memory — Cyrene + RMC Core
A strong alternative Remembrance team for players who own Cyrene and Evernight but have not yet obtained Castorice. KQM’s guide specifically highlights this composition: “In this team, Remembrance Trailblazer gains a substantial damage increase thanks to all the buffs and their new Enhanced Basic ATK, making them a certifiable damage dealer. Every time Remembrance Trailblazer uses this Enhanced Basic ATK, Cyrene’s memosprite immediately takes action and uses Memosprite Skill automatically.”
Cyrene applies Ode to Genesis to Remembrance Trailblazer (Mem’s CRIT Rate = 72% of Cyrene’s CRIT Rate) and Ode to Creation to Evernight (Memosprite CRIT DMG amplification). All three Remembrance characters contribute +6 starting Recollection, enabling a fast first Ultimate. Hyacine sustains and provides her +20% RES PEN aura. A viable endgame team requiring only free/accessible characters alongside Cyrene and Evernight.
Celestial Ode — F2P Chrysos Heir Core
A fully viable F2P configuration for players who own Castorice and Cyrene but lack Hyacine or Evernight. Remembrance Trailblazer is free from the Amphoreus story. Cyrene receives +4 starting Recollection (2 Remembrance: Castorice + RMC). First Ultimate arrives mid–late Cycle 1 at 180 SPD. Cyrene immediately applies Ode to Life and Death (Castorice’s Newbud 200% overflow) — the highest-value single Ode in her kit — and the True DMG Zone enhances all of Castorice’s attacks from that point forward.
Pela provides DEF reduction stacking with the True DMG Zone’s DEF-ignore nature. Gallagher provides Break utility and sustain for mixed content. Cyrene’s passive +40% team DMG at 180 SPD remains active from Turn 1 regardless of Ode application timing. Game8 confirms: “Cyrene can be paired with the Remembrance Trailblazer and Permansor Terrae for the free-to-play team — you just need two Chrysos Heirs to battery Cyrene’s first Ultimate.” A solid foundation that dramatically improves as more Chrysos Heirs are obtained.
Playstyle Tips & Advanced Strategy
✦ Optimal Turn-1 Opening Sequence
With Vonwacq or Amphoreus planar at 180+ SPD, Cyrene acts near-first in battle. Turn 1: Use Skill — deploys Zone (+3 Recollection), distributes Future to all allies. Allies act — each consumes Future for +1 Recollection each; Memosprites contribute without consuming (A2 trace). Cyrene acts again — use Skill or Enhanced Basic ATK for +3 more Recollection. Continue until 24 Recollection reached — use Ultimate (fills all ally bars, summons Demiurge, enters Ripples). Immediately begin working toward 12 Recollection for the second Ultimate — apply the second Ode. From this point: Zone is permanent, Demiurge is permanently on field, +50% CRIT Rate in Ripples state, all Ode buffs are being maintained on rotation.
🎵 True DMG Zone — Which Teams Benefit Most
The Zone deals True DMG equal to 24%+ of each individual damage instance — meaning characters who deal many frequent small hits benefit disproportionately more. Anaxa’s Skill (8–32 bounces, each a separate instance), Evernight’s Evey (multiple attack instances per cycle), and Castorice’s Spe·Mem (multi-hit attacks) all amplify Zone value enormously. In contrast, a single-hit DPS like Blade or a slow-hitting character contributes less to Zone output per cycle. When building teams, prioritise high-frequency attack characters alongside Cyrene. Lootbar confirms: “True DMG Zone fires on every instance of DMG by ally targets” — in Anaxa teams where 32 bounces each trigger the Zone, the total True DMG output per Skill use is staggering.
⚡ Managing Phainon Teams — The Timing Problem
If running Phainon + Cyrene: the correct sequence is Cyrene first Ultimate → apply Phainon’s Ode → then allow Phainon to Transform. Prevent Phainon from reaching his Transformation threshold before Cyrene’s first Ultimate fires. This may require using RMC’s Mem Support buff on Cyrene (granting her an extra turn) while Cyrene focuses on Skill-spamming toward 24 Recollection. Prydwen acknowledges this is “far too long at E0” and E2 provides the starting Recollection that makes Phainon + Cyrene more practical. If you find this timing management frustrating, Sunday + Tribbie + Huohuo is a genuinely smoother Phainon team — Cyrene is most naturally paired with Castorice, Mydei, or Aglaea.
✦ Long-Fight Ode Management Strategy
Priority 1 — Permanent Odes first: Apply Castorice (Newbud overflow) and Evernight (Memosprite CRIT DMG) in the first double-Ode window — these are active for the rest of battle. Priority 2 — Re-apply one-time Odes during burst windows: Mydei’s Ode (Vendetta state), Aglaea’s Ode (Supreme Stance), Anaxa’s Ode (before his Skill chain). Time these to the character’s peak damage state. Priority 3 — Non-Chrysos Heir filler: When all Chrysos Heir Odes are covered, targeting Sunday/Tribbie/Pela with the Memosprite Skill grants +40% DMG for 2 turns — a solid generic buff while waiting for Chrysos Heir Ode re-application windows. Demiurge self-target: When nothing else needs buffing, targeting Demiurge buffs its own “Waltz of Flowers and Arrows” — a low-priority but valid option for maximising Demiurge’s AoE output during downtime.
Should You Pull Cyrene?
✓ Pull If:
- You own 2+ Chrysos Heirs — Cyrene’s value scales exponentially with each additional Chrysos Heir. Mobalytics states clearly: “Her team is limited only to Chrysos Heir teams since her exclusive buff works only on Chrysos Heir characters.” Two or more is the threshold for S+ Tier performance.
- You are committed to Castorice as your main DPS — the Ode to Life and Death (Newbud 200% overflow) is a permanent, game-defining buff for Castorice. The full Castorice + Evernight + Cyrene + Hyacine team is the meta-defining composition of HSR 4.0.
- You own or plan to pull Mydei — Cyrene is Mydei’s best-in-slot support. The Ode to Strife (+200% CRIT DMG on a free Godslayer Be God) is the single most powerful individual Ode interaction in her kit, and Mobalytics rates Cyrene + Mydei as a “great upgrade.”
- You own Aglaea — the Ode to Romance enables Supreme Stance chaining that no other support replicates. VideoGamer confirms the Cyrene + Aglaea + Sunday + Hyacine team carries through all current endgame.
- You want a future-proof Amphoreus support — Cyrene has individual Odes for all 13 Chrysos Heirs. Every future Amphoreus character will automatically have synergy with her. Unlike most supports, she grows more relevant with each new release.
⚠️ Consider Skipping If:
- You own no Chrysos Heirs or fewer than 2 — Cyrene without Ode targets provides only the +20–40% passive DMG aura and True DMG Zone. These are solid but not S+ Tier justification without Ode applications. Honey Hunter World community: “she’s best used in an already overshilled team (Castorice-Hyacine).”
- Your teams are non-Amphoreus (Feixiao, Acheron, Kafka, The Herta) — these characters receive only the generic +40% DMG buff from Cyrene’s Memosprite Skill. Robin, Ruan Mei, or Tribbie are better-value supports for these archetypes.
- You’re primarily a Phainon player — the anti-synergy (Transformation removes allies from field) creates rotation friction that most players find frustrating. Sunday + Tribbie is a smoother, higher-performing alternative for Phainon at E0.
- You lack resources for E0S1 minimum — E0S0 Cyrene without Memory’s Curtain or better may struggle to reach 180 SPD from relic substats alone, significantly limiting her rotation speed and S+ Tier potential.
Final Verdict: Cyrene is the most narratively significant and mechanically unique support character in Honkai: Star Rail — a character whose 13 individually designed Chrysos Heir Odes represent HoYoverse’s most ambitious support design to date. She is definitively S+ Tier in any team containing 2+ Chrysos Heirs: best-in-slot for Castorice, Mydei, Aglaea, and Anaxa compositions. Her True DMG Zone, permanent +40% team DMG aura at 180 SPD, explosive first Ultimate that fills all ally bars simultaneously, and growing roster of Ode buffs make her one of the most impactful long-term investments in HSR. Pull with confidence if you have invested in the Amphoreus character roster — Cyrene is the culminating piece that ties the entire saga together.
Cyrene vs S+ Tier Characters
vs Robin (Wind Harmony): Robin provides universal FUA team DMG amplification during Concerto. Cyrene provides targeted Chrysos Heir Odes + True DMG Zone for Remembrance/Amphoreus teams. Different archetypes — Robin is best for FUA teams (Feixiao, Argenti), Cyrene is best for Remembrance teams. In Aglaea teams, Cyrene + Sunday is preferred over Robin + Sunday because Cyrene’s Ode to Romance is more powerful than Robin’s Concerto for Aglaea specifically.
vs Ruan Mei (Ice Harmony): Ruan Mei provides universal Break amplification, DMG%, and SPD — applicable across all archetypes including Firefly, Kafka, and Acheron. Cyrene provides Chrysos Heir-specific Odes + True DMG. For non-Chrysos Heir teams, Ruan Mei is clearly better. For Chrysos Heir teams, Cyrene’s Ode effects overpower Ruan Mei’s generic buffs. They serve entirely different rosters and are not direct competitors.
vs Acheron (Lightning Nihility DPS): Acheron is a DPS, not a competitor. Acheron is not a Chrysos Heir — Cyrene provides only the generic +40% DMG buff via Memosprite Skill and the passive +20–40% team DMG aura. Acheron teams use Jiaoqiu, Pela, and Silver Wolf — Cyrene is not recommended for Acheron compositions.
vs Mydei (Fire Destruction DPS): Mydei is Cyrene’s best DPS partner — the Ode to Strife interaction (+200% CRIT DMG on free Godslayer Be God) is Cyrene’s most impactful individual Ode. Pull both and pair them.
vs Archer (HSR S+ Tier): Check the full tier list for the most current meta placement and team synergy guide for Archer alongside Cyrene. As a newer S+ Tier character, Archer’s Chrysos Heir status (if applicable) would grant him a dedicated Ode from Cyrene’s kit — making their pairing worth evaluating when Archer’s full kit details are available.
vs Firefly (Fire Destruction DPS): Firefly is a Break DPS without Chrysos Heir status — her teams use Ruan Mei, Gallagher/Lingsha, and HMC. Cyrene provides only passive +20% DMG here. Not recommended for Firefly teams; Ruan Mei’s Break amplification is definitively superior in that archetype.
