Feixiao Build Guide HSR – Best Relics, Light Cones, Teams & Eidolons
- Feixiao is a 5-star Wind Hunt DPS who specializes in Follow-Up Attacks (FUA) and an Ultimate that counts as a follow-up attack — letting her benefit from both FUA and Ultimate buffs simultaneously.
- Her Ultimate fires automatically through the Flying Aureus system — she gains 1 stack for every 2 ally attacks, and launches her Ultimate the moment she hits 6 stacks (up to 12 max).
- Her Ultimate ignores Weakness Type to reduce enemy Toughness and increases Weakness Break Efficiency by 100% on non-Weakness Broken targets — she can break any enemy regardless of element.
- Best Light Cone: I Venture Forth to Hunt (her signature) — provides 15% CRIT Rate and up to 54% DEF ignore on Ultimate. Best alternative: Baptism of Pure Thought.
- Best Relics: The Wind-Soaring Valorous (4-piece) + Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves (Planar Ornament).
- Best team: Feixiao / Ashveil / Tribbie / Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae (current premium). Classic strong team: Feixiao / Robin / Topaz / Aventurine.
- FUA sub-DPS units are essential — they both deal damage and generate Flying Aureus stacks for Feixiao’s Ultimate.
- E1 is her strongest Eidolon — a separate multiplicative multiplier adding up to 50% bonus Ultimate DMG.
- She most recently ran in Version 4.2 (May 13 – June 1, 2026) via the Indelible Coterie banner.
- Aim for 70%+ CRIT Rate, 160%+ CRIT DMG, and 2,900+ ATK for endgame performance.

Who Is Feixiao in Honkai Star Rail?
Feixiao is a 5-star Wind character following the Path of The Hunt in Honkai Star Rail. She debuted in Version 2.5 (October 2024) and quickly established herself as the definitive Follow-Up Attack DPS in the game. She most recently ran in Version 4.2 (May 13 – June 1, 2026) alongside Sunday and Tribbie via the Indelible Coterie banner. As of patch 4.3, she remains one of the top single-target DPS options in the game, particularly dominant in Apocalyptic Shadow boss content.
In the game’s lore, Feixiao is the Merlin’s Claw — one of the Seven Arbiter-Generals of the Xianzhou Alliance from Xianzhou Yaoqing. Her personality is described as unrestrained and frank, dashing and straightforward. She is skilled in all forms of martial arts and has honed herself into a supreme weapon. Widely adored by both soldiers and civilians as “The Great General,” she carries a hidden burden: the Moon Rage affliction. If she were to hunt down all the abominations in her limited lifetime, then the only enemy Feixiao would have left would be herself.
What makes her mechanically unique: she has no conventional Energy bar. She cannot use her Ultimate manually. Instead, her Ultimate fires automatically whenever her Flying Aureus meter reaches 6 stacks. This creates a fast, action-driven playstyle where the entire team’s attack frequency directly determines how often Feixiao unleashes one of the most powerful single-target attacks in the game. For all official patch and event details, check the HoYoverse official Honkai Star Rail news page.
Feixiao Kit Overview – How Her Abilities Work
Feixiao’s kit has three major components working together: the Flying Aureus resource that automatically triggers her Ultimate, her Talent Follow-Up Attack that fires whenever allies attack, and an Ultimate that functions as a follow-up attack — meaning it benefits from every source of FUA buffing in the game. Understanding how all three interact is everything in her build.
Flying Aureus – The Core Resource
This is Feixiao’s equivalent of an Energy bar. She generates 1 point of Flying Aureus for every 2 attacks any ally makes (Feixiao’s own Ultimate hits are excluded). She starts each battle with 3 pre-loaded points from her A2 trace. When Flying Aureus reaches 6 points (or any multiple of 6 up to 12), her Ultimate fires automatically — she does not press a button, it just happens. This auto-fire mechanic means the team’s entire attack frequency feeds directly into how often Feixiao deletes enemies. FUA sub-DPS teammates who attack frequently generate Flying Aureus the fastest, which is the core of what makes a FUA team the strongest setup for her.
Basic Attack – Shackling Haze
Deals Wind DMG equal to 100% of Feixiao’s ATK to a single enemy. Used primarily when no better option is available and generates 1 count toward Flying Aureus (2 counts needed for 1 stack). In most active rotations, your time is better spent with her Skill, but Basic ATK is not a total waste since it still contributes to stack generation.
Skill – Boltsunder Blitz / Waraxe Skyward
Deals Wind DMG equal to 200% of Feixiao’s ATK to a single target, then immediately launches one instance of her Talent’s Follow-Up Attack against the same target. The Skill also activates her A4 trace bonus: after using Skill, Feixiao’s ATK increases by 48% for 3 turns. This is a significant offensive buff — always use Skill before her Ultimate fires if you can, so the ATK bonus is active during the Ultimate’s hits. The Skill’s damage itself counts toward Flying Aureus generation.
Talent – Thunderhunt (Follow-Up Attack)
After any ally (including Feixiao herself) launches an attack, Feixiao immediately launches a Follow-Up Attack against that attack’s primary target (or a random enemy if no primary target exists). This can only trigger once per turn. The Follow-Up Attack deals Wind DMG equal to 200% of Feixiao’s ATK. This is the passive that makes every ally action meaningful — Robin’s Action Advance triggers it, Topaz’s Numby triggers it, Aventurine’s shield FUA triggers it. Every attack in the fight fires both Flying Aureus generation and a Feixiao FUA simultaneously. The FUA damage itself also builds Flying Aureus faster.
Ultimate – Boltsunder: Supreme Assault
When Flying Aureus reaches 6, Feixiao automatically launches her Ultimate — a devastating multi-hit Wind attack on a single target. During the Ultimate, she launches Boltsunder Blitz or Waraxe Skyward repeatedly until Flying Aureus is depleted, then delivers a final slam. Boltsunder Blitz fires when the target IS Weakness Broken (dealing 90% ATK per hit), while Waraxe Skyward fires when the target is NOT Weakness Broken (also 90% ATK per hit). The final hit then deals Wind DMG equal to 10% ATK per Flying Aureus point consumed. The entire Ultimate counts as a Follow-Up Attack — meaning it benefits from Robin’s FUA ATK buffs, Duran’s stacking CRIT DMG, and every other FUA-specific amplifier simultaneously. Two critical advantages of the Ultimate:
- It ignores Weakness Type — the hits reduce enemy Toughness regardless of what element the enemy is weak to. Feixiao can break any enemy in the game.
- When the target is NOT Weakness Broken, Feixiao’s Weakness Break Efficiency increases by 100% — helping her Toughness reduction hit even harder before the break occurs.
At 12 Flying Aureus (maximum), the Ultimate fires twice as many hits, roughly doubling its damage contribution. Teams that generate Flying Aureus fastest (via high-frequency FUA sub-DPS teammates) let Feixiao reach 12 stacks before firing, maximizing each Ultimate’s total output.
A2 Trace – Heavenpath
Feixiao receives 3 Flying Aureus at the start of battle. Additionally, at the start of each turn, if Feixiao’s Talent Follow-Up Attack did not trigger in the previous turn, she counts it as gaining 1 toward the required attack count for her next Flying Aureus stack. This battle-start bonus lets the first Ultimate arrive extremely fast, and the safety net mechanic ensures she never completely stalls on Flying Aureus generation even in slow turns.
A4 Trace – Formshift
When Feixiao’s Ultimate deals damage, it is considered a Follow-Up Attack. Additionally, her Follow-Up Attack CRIT DMG increases by 36%. The first effect is what makes her Ultimate benefit from every FUA-specific buff in the game. The second provides a substantial personal CRIT DMG boost to every FUA she fires — both the Talent follow-ups and the Ultimate itself.
A6 Trace – Boltcatch
When Feixiao uses her Skill, her ATK increases by 48% for 3 turns. This is a large ATK boost that should always be active during her Ultimate if possible. Time Skill use just before Flying Aureus reaches 6 so the 48% ATK amplifier covers the entire Ultimate sequence.
Feixiao Best Light Cones in HSR
Feixiao follows the Path of The Hunt. Only Hunt path Light Cones activate their passives on her. Her signature is purpose-built for her FUA + Ultimate playstyle and provides DEF ignore that significantly amplifies Ultimate damage.
I Venture Forth to Hunt (Signature – Best in Slot)
Feixiao’s 5-star signature is the strongest option by a meaningful margin. It provides 15% CRIT Rate — the most important stat for her build — reducing the substat pressure needed to hit the 70% in-combat threshold. When Feixiao launches a Follow-Up Attack, she gains one stack of Luminflux (up to 2 stacks). Each Luminflux stack causes her Ultimate’s DMG to ignore 27% of the target’s DEF. At 2 stacks (54% DEF ignore total), this is a multiplicative damage amplifier on all her Ultimate hits — translating to roughly 40% increased Ultimate DMG at S1 in practice. Since Feixiao’s Talent naturally fires a FUA before or during every Ultimate window, Luminflux stacks up reliably and is nearly always at maximum before the Ultimate fires. The signature is the highest-priority single upgrade for Feixiao.
Baptism of Pure Thought (Dr. Ratio’s Signature – Strong Alternative)
An excellent 5-star alternative for Feixiao. It provides CRIT DMG plus a stacking DMG bonus when attacking debuffed enemies and a Follow-Up DEF ignore effect. Since enemies in a FUA team are frequently debuffed (Topaz’s Proof of Debt, Moze’s Mark), the conditions are reliably met. The combined DEF ignore is lower than the signature’s maximum, but the CRIT DMG contribution makes this very competitive. A great option if you own Dr. Ratio’s signature.
Worrisome, Blissful (4-Star – Battle Pass)
Feixiao’s best accessible 4-star Light Cone. Provides CRIT Rate and a stacking FUA DMG bonus when attacking the same enemy repeatedly — which Feixiao does constantly. At S5, community estimates put this at approximately 85% of signature performance for much lower cost. The most recommended alternative for players who cannot pull her signature.
Cruising in the Stellar Sea (4-Star – Herta Store)
Obtainable from the Herta Store for 8 Herta Bonds. Provides CRIT Rate (with an additional boost when enemy HP is at or below 50%), plus an ATK bonus on kill. The CRIT Rate is the valuable part — it covers the same role as the signature’s CRIT Rate boost without the DEF ignore. Best free option for players without Battle Pass access.
Feixiao Best Relics in HSR
Feixiao is a pure ATK and CRIT DPS. Every stat should point toward offensive output — CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK. Her FUA nature makes both the 4-piece relic set and Planar Ornament choice especially important since her Ultimate counts as a follow-up attack.
Best 4-Piece Relic Set: The Wind-Soaring Valorous
This is Feixiao’s best-in-slot relic set by a significant margin. The 2-piece bonus gives 10% ATK, scaling all her ability multipliers. The 4-piece is the critical piece: when Feixiao uses her Ultimate, her Ultimate DMG increases by 36%. Since her Ultimate counts as a follow-up attack (from A4 trace), this bonus fires every single Ultimate regardless of other conditions. The set was designed specifically for FUA Ultimate builds and it shows — the combination of ATK from 2-piece and Ultimate DMG from 4-piece stacks cleanly with every other multiplier. Farm this set exclusively for Feixiao.
Alternative: The Ashblazing Grand Duke
The previous best-in-slot before Wind-Soaring Valorous was released. Its 4-piece stacks ATK on FUA triggers, providing up to 24% ATK at 3 stacks. Still very strong and remains competitive especially in teams with very high FUA frequency. Use this if you have excellent Ashblazing pieces with great substats and are waiting to farm Wind-Soaring Valorous.
Best Planar Ornament: Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves
Feixiao’s best Planar Ornament. The 2-piece provides CRIT DMG, which directly scales all her FUA and Ultimate hits. The 4-piece stacks CRIT DMG every time any ally uses a Follow-Up Attack, up to 5 stacks for up to 25% additional CRIT DMG. In a FUA team with Topaz, Aventurine, and Robin all firing FUAs constantly, Duran maintains maximum stacks reliably throughout the fight. The stacked CRIT DMG represents a major sustained damage multiplier that grows specifically in the multi-FUA teams that Feixiao thrives in. Always farm Duran for Feixiao.
Alternative Planar Ornament: Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm
Provides CRIT Rate and a DMG bonus when at least one ally shares the same path (Hunt). Useful in teams with other Hunt characters like March 7th (Hunt) or Moze. A secondary option when Duran pieces have poor substats.
Relic Main Stats to Target
- Head: HP (fixed)
- Hands: ATK (fixed)
- Body: CRIT Rate — the priority main stat. Aim to reach 70%+ in-combat including all team buffs. The signature LC provides 15% base, reducing the relic burden.
- Feet: ATK% (preferred — more raw damage for each hit) or SPD (if building for action economy without action advance support).
- Planar Sphere: Wind DMG Bonus — directly scales every hit of her FUA and Ultimate.
- Link Rope: ATK% — maximizes damage multipliers. Energy Regeneration is not relevant since Feixiao has no Energy system.
Key Substat Priority
CRIT Rate until comfortably over 70% in-combat. CRIT DMG after CRIT Rate is covered — push toward 160%+ and beyond. ATK% is the third priority, scaling all her multipliers. SPD is helpful for more frequent action turns but lower priority than the CRIT stats and ATK for most builds. Flat ATK is low priority — always prefer ATK% over it.
Stat Targets
- CRIT Rate: 70%+ in-combat
- CRIT DMG: 160%+ (higher is always better)
- ATK: 2,900+
- SPD: 160+ (beneficial but not primary priority)
Feixiao Best Teams in HSR 4.3
Every Feixiao team is built around one principle: maximize the number of attacks per cycle to generate Flying Aureus as fast as possible, and buff those attacks with FUA-specific multipliers. The ideal team has a sub-DPS who makes FUA attacks frequently, a buffer who amplifies FUA damage specifically (Robin), and a sustain who also contributes actions or FUAs. The sub-DPS slot is more important than it might seem — they both deal damage and double as a Flying Aureus battery.
Current Premium Team: Feixiao / Ashveil / Tribbie / Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae
The strongest current Feixiao team in patch 4.3 according to community tier data. Ashveil is a new Hunt DPS who acts as a sub-DPS FUA partner — his frequent attacks generate Flying Aureus rapidly while dealing substantial personal damage. Tribbie provides RES PEN and a 30% DMG Taken debuff on enemies, stacking multiplicatively with every other team buff. She also contributes FUA actions that feed Flying Aureus. Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae handles sustain through shields and ATK buffs — his Bondmate mechanic gives Feixiao ATK bonuses, and his summon’s actions help generate Flying Aureus stacks. This team excels in Apocalyptic Shadow single-target boss content.
Classic Premium Team: Feixiao / Robin / Topaz / Aventurine
The original and still excellent Feixiao team from her debut. Robin is the best all-around FUA buffer in the game — her Concerto state grants all allies ATK and CRIT DMG bonuses, and her Action Advance in Concerto means every ally gets an extra action that fires Feixiao’s Talent FUA. Robin’s Concerto basically functions as free additional attacks for the entire team simultaneously. Topaz is the premiere FUA sub-DPS — she marks an enemy with Proof of Debt, making them take increased FUA damage, and her Numby summon fires follow-up attacks constantly, generating Flying Aureus at a rapid rate. Aventurine provides consistent shields and applies the Unnerved CRIT DMG debuff, while also having his own shield-related FUA that generates Flying Aureus. This remains an S-tier team.
Strong Alternative Team: Feixiao / Ashveil / Robin / Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae
Replaces Tribbie with Robin for teams where Robin is available. Robin’s FUA-specific buffs and Action Advance are slightly stronger in a pure single-DPS hypercarry setup, while Ashveil handles the sub-DPS and Flying Aureus generation. Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae sustains. A clean and powerful setup for Apocalyptic Shadow.
Robin + Tribbie Team: Feixiao / Robin / Tribbie / Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae
A hypercarry-style setup that trades the sub-DPS slot for a second amplifier. Robin provides FUA buffs and Action Advance, Tribbie stacks RES PEN and DMG Taken debuffs. Flying Aureus generates slightly slower without a dedicated FUA sub-DPS, but the doubled amplifier buffs push Feixiao’s own hits substantially higher. Works best at high Feixiao investment (E1+) where her personal damage contribution per Ultimate is already enormous.
Accessible Team: Feixiao / Robin / Moze / Aventurine
Moze is Feixiao’s lore-relevant companion and an accessible 4-star FUA sub-DPS. His kit is designed specifically around marking targets and launching follow-up attacks, making him a natural Flying Aureus generator. He is SP-positive, contributes meaningful damage, and applies useful debuffs. Combined with Robin and Aventurine, this is a strong and relatively accessible team for players who don’t have Topaz or Ashveil.
F2P Friendly Team: Feixiao / March 7th (Hunt) / Robin / Gallagher
March 7th (Hunt) is a free 4-star FUA sub-DPS who can serve as the Flying Aureus battery in budget setups. At E6 (freely obtainable from events), she deals solid damage and generates consistent FUA actions. Robin handles the FUA buffing. Gallagher manages sustain with good SP efficiency. This team clears all endgame content at lower investment.
Notable Partner Notes
- Topaz — Proof of Debt FUA damage increase + Numby’s constant FUA attacks = best original sub-DPS for Flying Aureus generation.
- Aventurine — Shields + Unnerved CRIT DMG debuff + shield FUA = best all-around sustain for Feixiao.
- Robin — Best amplifier for FUA teams. Concerto gives ATK, CRIT DMG, and effectively free extra actions.
- Tribbie — RES PEN and DMG Taken debuffs stack multiplicatively with all other buffs. FUA actions also generate Flying Aureus.
- Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae — Shields + ATK buffs + summon FUA actions. Best sustain slot for teams that want both survival and Flying Aureus contribution from the sustain slot.
Feixiao Trace Priority
Feixiao is a DPS, so her trace priorities focus on the abilities that scale her offensive output directly.
- Talent – First. The Talent governs the damage multiplier of every Follow-Up Attack she fires — both the Talent-triggered FUA and, through A4, the Ultimate itself. Higher Talent level means every FUA hits harder. Since her Talent fires after every ally attack, leveling it is the highest-value per-material upgrade available.
- Skill – Second. The Skill deals 200% ATK Wind DMG and triggers an immediate Talent FUA on use. Higher Skill level increases both the direct hit and the follow-up multiplier. Also activates her A6 ATK buff, which scales with Skill level.
- Ultimate – Third. Higher Ultimate level increases the multipliers on Boltsunder Blitz/Waraxe Skyward and the final slam. Each individual hit’s multiplier goes up, meaning the stacked damage of a 12-Aureus Ultimate becomes dramatically higher at max level.
- Major Traces – Unlock all three as soon as possible. A2 (3 pre-loaded Flying Aureus + turn safety net), A4 (Ultimate counts as FUA + 36% FUA CRIT DMG), and A6 (48% ATK buff after Skill) are all always-active multipliers that require no additional management. A4 in particular is mandatory — without it, her Ultimate does not benefit from FUA buffs.
- Basic Attack – Last. Used only when necessary to avoid wasting turns. Contributes low Flying Aureus generation per action and minimal damage relative to Skill and FUA. Level minimally.
Feixiao Eidolons – Which Ones Are Worth It?
Feixiao is strong at E0, but her E1 is one of the most impactful first Eidolons for any DPS character in the game. Unlike most E1s which are incremental, hers is a separate multiplicative damage layer.
E1 – Best Value Eidolon (Highly Recommended)
After launching Boltsunder Blitz or Waraxe Skyward (the repeated hits of her Ultimate), Feixiao additionally increases her Ultimate DMG by 10% of its original value per hit, stacking up to 5 times and lasting until the end of the Ultimate action. In practice this means every hit makes every subsequent hit stronger — and at 5 stacks, she has a +50% bonus to all remaining Ultimate hits. Critically, this is a separate multiplicative layer — like Acheron’s Nihility teammate passive — meaning it multiplies on top of CRIT, ATK, and every other buff rather than adding to the same pool. Community estimates put E1’s practical damage increase at 25–35% total DPS uplift under optimal conditions. This is the recommended stopping point for moderate spenders.
E2 – High Investment, High Reward
In the Talent’s effect, every ally Follow-Up Attack now gives Feixiao 1 full point of Flying Aureus (instead of the usual 1 point per 2 attacks). In high-FUA teams, this can grant up to 6 Flying Aureus per turn — dramatically increasing Ultimate frequency. Where E0 Feixiao might Ultimate every 2–3 turns, E2 Feixiao can approach once-per-turn Ultimates. The damage ceiling jump is enormous, but it requires significant FUA teammate support to realize fully. Consider this the “whale Eidolon” — only pursue after E1 and the signature LC are secured.
E4 – Sustained Damage Boost
E4 boosts Feixiao’s Follow-Up Attack DMG while she is in battle. A flat multiplier on FUA that applies permanently from the moment combat begins. Meaningful but not transformative compared to E1 and E2.
E6 – Maximum Ceiling
E6 adds major bonuses to her Ultimate and allows more Flying Aureus accumulation. The power spike is substantial at very high investment but impractical for most accounts. E1S1 is the realistic stopping point for most players.
Feixiao Rotation Guide – How to Play Her
Feixiao’s rotation is mostly automatic — Flying Aureus fires her Ultimate for you. Your job as the player is to time her Skill correctly and manage which target she focuses on.
Battle Start
Use Feixiao’s Technique before entering a fight to enter Onrush state — she charges forward, draws in enemies, and deals Wind DMG. More importantly, she gains 3 Flying Aureus from A2 immediately at battle start. From the very first turn, she is already halfway to her first Ultimate.
Core Loop
Use Feixiao’s Skill at the start of her turns. This activates the 48% ATK buff from A6, deals direct Wind DMG, and immediately fires one Talent FUA against the target. Both hits generate Flying Aureus. Then let your teammates do their thing — every ally action triggers Feixiao’s Talent FUA and generates Flying Aureus simultaneously.
The most important timing decision: try to use Skill just before Flying Aureus reaches 6 (or 12 for maximum), so the 48% ATK bonus is active when the Ultimate automatically fires on the same turn or the next. If the ATK buff is active during the Ultimate, all of the Ultimate’s multi-hit damage is amplified by 48% ATK on top of everything else. With Robin’s Concerto also active, the combined ATK buff during the Ultimate window is massive.
Target Priority
Feixiao’s Ultimate deals Wind DMG to a single target and reduces their Toughness regardless of element. In multi-enemy content, focus on the most dangerous or high-HP enemy first. Once that target is Weakness Broken, her Ultimate shifts from Waraxe Skyward (designed for unbroken targets) to Boltsunder Blitz (designed for broken targets). Both deal the same per-hit multipliers in their respective states, so the transition is seamless — just make sure to keep attacking the broken target to maintain pressure.
Flying Aureus Management
At E0, try to let Flying Aureus build to 12 before it fires if possible. At 12 stacks, the Ultimate runs twice as many hit cycles, substantially increasing total damage. This requires careful coordination — if Flying Aureus hits 6 too early, the Ultimate fires at half capacity. Teams with very high FUA frequency (Topaz + Numby + Aventurine) naturally push toward frequent 6-stack Ultimates, which is fine — the raw frequency compensates. Teams where you want to maximize per-Ultimate damage should manage attack pacing accordingly.
Should You Pull Feixiao in HSR 4.3?
Yes, if you enjoy FUA gameplay and want a top-tier single-target boss killer. Feixiao remains one of the highest single-target DPS options in the game as of patch 4.3, particularly in Apocalyptic Shadow where her targeted Ultimate and universal Weakness Break makes her extremely consistent. She does not have to worry about enemy Weakness Types. She simply breaks anything.
Her kit design is one of the most satisfying in HSR — watching the team’s attacks constantly chain into her FUAs, which feed into a spectacular auto-firing Ultimate, creates a fluid and rewarding combat rhythm that feels different from manual-Ultimate DPS characters.
The key investment consideration is the FUA team requirement. Without at least one FUA sub-DPS generating Flying Aureus consistently, she underperforms her potential. Teams with Topaz, Ashveil, or Moze as sub-DPS see dramatically faster Ultimate cycles than teams without them. Robin is also strongly recommended as her buffer — FUA-specific buffs amplify her enormously. If you are building Feixiao, plan to invest in at least one FUA sub-DPS teammate.
Her signature Light Cone is also a meaningful upgrade. I Venture Forth to Hunt’s 54% DEF ignore on Ultimate translates to roughly 40% more Ultimate damage — one of the largest single-LC upgrades in the game. If you pull Feixiao, strongly consider pulling the signature on the same banner.
