Honkai Star Rail Seele Build Guide 4.3 – Best Relics, Light Cones & Teams

Honkai Star Rail Seele Build Guide 4.3 covers her best relics, light cones, team comps, and Resurgence tips to maximise her kill-chain damage after the Version 4.2 Novaflare buffs.

TL;DR

  • Seele is a 5-star Quantum Hunt hypercarry who gets a free extra turn and an 88% DMG buff every time she kills an enemy.
  • Her Version 4.2 Novaflare buffs significantly increased her damage multipliers and made her Skill proc less restrictive.
  • Best relic setup is 4-piece Genius of Brilliant Stars + Rutilant Arena Planar Ornament.
  • The Hell Where Ideals Burn (Archer’s signature) is now her best Light Cone. In the Night is her original signature and still strong.
  • Hit 70–80% CRIT Rate, 150%+ CRIT DMG, then stack ATK.
  • She pairs best with Sparkle, Silver Wolf, and Fu Xuan in her classic Mono-Quantum team.
  • E0 is fully functional. E1 and E4 are her best Eidolon investments.

Who Is Seele in Honkai Star Rail?

Seele is a 5-star Quantum character on the Path of The Hunt. She grew up in the Underworld beneath Belobog — a harsh, brutal place that shaped her into someone who fights with relentless aggression and precision. In battle, that translates into one of the most satisfying kill-chain mechanics in HSR. Land a kill, get a free turn with a massive damage buff, kill again, repeat. When Seele gets going in a wave of enemies, she doesn’t stop.

She’s been in the game since Version 1.1 as the first limited 5-star Hunt DPS, and she received meaningful Novaflare buffs in Version 4.2 that gave her genuine staying power in the current meta. Her damage multipliers were increased across the board, her reactive Skill proc — which fires for free when allies hit enemies below 50% HP — became less restrictive, and her E1 received an additional DEF ignore component. As of Patch 4.3, Seele is a Tier 1 unit in Pure Fiction and a competitive choice in Memory of Chaos with the right supports behind her.

Seele Novaflare Changes — What Actually Changed

Before going into the build, it’s worth knowing exactly what the 4.2 update gave her, because it changes how you think about her kit.

Her Resurgence talent DMG buff was increased from the old value to 88%, which is a meaningful jump in her kill-chain damage ceiling. The reactive Skill proc that fires when allies hit enemies below 50% HP had its trigger condition slightly relaxed — previously it felt clunky to proc consistently, now it fires more reliably in normal play. Her E1 received a new passive that adds 20% DEF ignore when she attacks enemies below 80% HP, compounding with her existing Genius relic DEF ignore. Her E6 got a significant rework — the True Damage instance it triggers went from 15% to 30% ATK per hit and its duration extended from 1 turn to 3 turns, making it much more impactful late in fights. Together these changes pushed Seele from a respected veteran into a legitimately competitive unit again.

Seele Skills Breakdown

Basic ATK – Thwack

Deals Quantum DMG to a single target at 130% ATK. Clean, fast, not much else to say. You won’t be using this much in a well-built Seele rotation since you’ll almost always have enough SP for her Skill, but when you do need a Basic ATK, it deals decent damage for a Basic and keeps Energy rolling.

Skill – Sheathed Blade

Deals Quantum DMG to a single target at 220% ATK and increases Seele’s SPD by 25% for 2 turns. This is her main damage ability and the one you’re spamming in combat. The SPD buff stacks with team speed buffs, which is why Seele synergises so well with Sparkle — the action advance means she gets another turn almost immediately after the Skill, and the SPD buff extends into that extra turn as well. Her reactive Skill proc also fires a free extra Skill instance when allies hit enemies below 50% HP — this happens without consuming a Skill Point, making it essentially free damage.

Ultimate – Butterfly Flurry

Deals Quantum DMG to a single target at 255% ATK and puts Seele into the Amplification state for 2 turns. While Amplified, all her DMG is increased by 80%. The Ultimate is a powerful burst but it’s also the gateway into the Amplification window that boosts all subsequent attacks. Prioritise getting her Ultimate active before a tough target and her next two turns of Skill use will hit for dramatically more. Energy generation is reasonably fast since Seele’s Skill generates 30 Energy per cast and her Talent also restores Energy on kills.

Talent – Resurgence

This is Seele’s defining mechanic. When she defeats an enemy, she immediately takes another turn and gains the Sheathed Blade buff — all her DMG increases by 88% for 3 turns. This extra turn doesn’t consume her next turn; she essentially acts twice in a row. In content with waves of enemies — particularly Pure Fiction — this creates an unstoppable chain. Kill one enemy, free turn, kill another, free turn, kill another. She can theoretically act multiple times in a single cycle without any other support as long as enemies keep dying. The 88% DMG buff during the extra turn makes her follow-up kill even more explosive than the first.

Technique – Phantom Illusion

Creates a special state in the overworld where Seele uses an Illusion to avoid enemy detection for 20 seconds. Entering a fight while the Illusion is active deals Quantum DMG to all enemies at the start of combat and gives the whole team 50% ATK for 3 turns. A strong opener that gives a free teamwide ATK boost from turn one — always use this before serious fights.

Seele Best Relics in 4.3

Best 4-Piece Set – Genius of Brilliant Stars

This is Seele’s best and only serious relic option. The 2-piece gives 10% Quantum DMG Boost. The 4-piece allows Seele’s attacks to ignore 10% of the enemy’s DEF, and against enemies with Quantum Weakness, she ignores an additional 10% for a total of 20% DEF ignore from the set. Post-Novaflare, her E1 adds another 20% DEF ignore on top when attacking enemies below 80% HP — and with Silver Wolf implanting Quantum Weakness, the full 20% set DEF ignore is active on virtually every target. This all stacks with the Quantum DEF ignore from Weakness Break itself, creating very high total DEF penetration. There’s no realistic alternative set — farm Genius of Brilliant Stars exclusively.

Best Planar Ornament – Rutilant Arena

The go-to Planar Ornament for Seele. The 2-piece gives 8% CRIT Rate. When her CRIT Rate hits 70% or higher — which it will in a properly built setup — all Basic ATK and Skill DMG is increased by 20%. Since Seele’s entire damage output is Skill and Basic ATK based (her Talent proc is an extra Skill use), this 20% DMG bonus applies to the vast majority of her hits. Rutilant Arena is clean, consistent, and requires no conditions beyond the CRIT Rate threshold.

Alternative Planar Ornament – Space Sealing Station

If your relic pieces are pushing ATK% over CRIT, Space Sealing Station gives 12% ATK and an additional 12% ATK when SPD reaches 120. Simple flat ATK scaling that benefits both her Skill damage and Resurgence kill-chain hits. A solid second choice if you have better Space Sealing pieces than Rutilant Arena.

Relic Main Stats

  • Body: CRIT Rate (priority) or CRIT DMG if CRIT Rate is already capped via substats and Light Cone
  • Feet: ATK% (recommended for most builds) or SPD if using In the Night
  • Planar Sphere: Quantum DMG Boost
  • Link Rope: ATK%

Relic Substat Priority

  • CRIT Rate — Hit 70–80%. This activates Rutilant Arena and ensures consistent crits throughout the entire kill chain. Every miss is a wasted Resurgence hit.
  • CRIT DMG — Stack as much as possible after CRIT Rate is stabilised. Target 150–180%+. The higher this goes, the more explosive each Resurgence hit becomes.
  • ATK% — Feeds directly into her skill and Resurgence damage scaling. Target 2,600–2,900 ATK after team buffs.
  • SPD — Important for In the Night users specifically. Even outside of that Light Cone, more SPD means more turns and more chances to chain Resurgence kills. Aim for 115+ at minimum, higher for In the Night builds.

Seele Best Light Cones in 4.3

Current Best in Slot – The Hell Where Ideals Burn (Archer’s Signature)

This is Archer‘s signature Light Cone from the Fate collaboration and it has become Seele’s best option post-Novaflare. It gives 16% CRIT Rate flat. After each Skill use, Seele gains 10% ATK, stacking up to 4 times for a potential 40% ATK bonus. If the team’s maximum Skill Point limit is 6 or higher when entering combat — which it is when running with Sparkle who raises the SP cap — she gains an additional 40% ATK on top, for a total of 80% ATK from the Light Cone alone at full stacks. The ATK buff applies to every type of Seele’s damage — Basic, Skill, Ultimate, AND the reactive Skill proc — unlike In the Night which only boosts specific ability types. No SPD breakpoint needed either, making it stronger in both high-SPD and standard builds.

Her Original Signature – In the Night

Seele’s own signature is still excellent and widely used. It gives 18–30% CRIT Rate depending on superimposition, which is extremely valuable for hitting CRIT thresholds. For every 10 SPD above 100, Basic ATK and Skill DMG increase by 6–10% (up to 6 stacks), and Ultimate CRIT DMG increases by 12–20% per stack. At full stacks with high SPD this is a massive multiplier, but it requires meaningful SPD investment to fully activate. In the Night rewards SPD-focused builds and remains competitive with The Hell Where Ideals Burn in properly tuned high-SPD setups. It’s also available in the Starlight Exchange, making it one of the most accessible 5-star Light Cones in the game.

Best Alternative 5-Star – Cruising in the Stellar Sea

A Hunt 5-star that gives CRIT Rate and increases DMG when the target’s HP is 50% or lower — which activates in basically every Seele rotation since she’s always focusing targets she’s about to kill. When she defeats an enemy, it also gives a teamwide ATK buff. Less raw damage than her signature or Archer’s Light Cone, but a reliable all-around option if you have it.

Best 4-Star – Only Silence Remains

When there are 2 or fewer enemies on the field, this Light Cone gives 12% CRIT Rate on top of its base 16% ATK boost. Naturally consistent in single-target boss fights and Memory of Chaos stages where you’re often fighting 1–2 enemies. Less ideal in Pure Fiction’s multi-wave content, but a solid choice for players without a strong 5-star Hunt Light Cone. Obtain it from the standard Stellar Warp pool.

Other Options

  • Swordplay (4-star) — Stacks DMG% up to 5 times on consecutive hits against the same target. Excellent in single-target boss fights but loses all stacks on target switch. Less reliable than Only Silence Remains in multi-wave content where Seele chains between enemies.
  • River Flows in Spring (4-star) — Good SPD and DMG boost after entering battle. A decent placeholder option.

Seele Best Team Comps in 4.3

Mono-Quantum – Her Best Team

This is the definitive Seele team and still one of the strongest hypercarry setups in the game for single-target content. Sparkle handles SP generation and advances Seele’s action forward immediately after her Skill, which creates a loop of constant Skill use. Silver Wolf implants Quantum Weakness on any enemy, guaranteeing the full Genius of Brilliant Stars 4-piece DEF ignore on every target regardless of their natural Weakness type. Fu Xuan keeps the team alive with strong team-wide damage reduction and CRIT Rate buffs. Every character in this lineup shares the Quantum element, which also guarantees consistent Quantum Entanglement break chains.

Sparkle + Robin Variation

If you want to push Pure Fiction scores specifically, swapping Silver Wolf for Robin is a powerful alternative. Robin buffs all allies’ DMG and provides action advance for the whole team, which in a multi-wave Pure Fiction fight means more Resurgence chains, more free turns, and dramatically higher sustained damage output. You lose the guaranteed Quantum Weakness implant but gain consistent teamwide buffs that compound across every Resurgence turn.

Bronya Hypercarry

The original Seele team before Sparkle was released still works well. Bronya gives a CRIT DMG buff and advances Seele’s action forward, letting her Skill twice in quick succession. Less SP-efficient than Sparkle but more available for players who pulled Bronya before Sparkle’s release. Pair with Silver Wolf for Weakness Implant and a strong sustain unit.

F2P Budget Team

No 5-star supports? Seele still functions. Tingyun is a 4-star Harmony unit that gives Energy regeneration and ATK buffs — she’s one of the best 4-star supports in the game and pushes Seele’s Ultimate cycling significantly. Pela applies DEF shred on enemies to compensate for not having Silver Wolf’s Weakness Implant. Any available healer rounds the team out. This setup clears story content comfortably and handles lower-tier Memory of Chaos stages.

Seele Eidolons – Are They Worth It?

Seele at E0 is fully functional. She’s available as an off-banner pull through the Celestial Invitation system, which means you may accumulate Eidolons passively over time rather than chasing them intentionally. Never actively pull for Seele Eidolons — the resources are better spent on new units.

  • E1: Post-Novaflare, E1 now gives 15% CRIT Rate when attacking enemies below 80% HP plus 20% DEF ignore on those same targets. That DEF ignore stacks directly on top of Genius of Brilliant Stars’ 20% DEF ignore from the 4-piece, pushing total passive DEF penetration to 40% before any team buffs. A strong Eidolon that makes her hit noticeably harder in the phase of the fight when she’s closing out targets. This is the recommended first Eidolon investment if you have it.
  • E2: Seele can use her Skill once more for free after entering combat with her Technique active. Decent opener bonus but not a major gameplay change.
  • E4: When Seele defeats an enemy, she restores 15 Energy. In content with multiple enemies — particularly Pure Fiction — this means near-constant Ultimate availability, which means more Amplification uptime, which means more damage across the entire kill chain. This is arguably her best Eidolon for sustained multi-wave damage and Pure Fiction performance.
  • E6: Post-Novaflare rework, E6 now triggers 3 instances of True DMG equal to 30% ATK per hit (up from 15%) lasting 3 turns instead of 1 when she enters Resurgence. Much stronger than before. Still a luxury Eidolon but the damage contribution is now meaningful rather than negligible.

Seele Trace and Ability Priority

Level her Skill first — it’s her primary damage source and the multiplier scales directly with Skill level. Then level her Talent for higher Resurgence DMG buff and kill-chain power. Ultimate goes next for increased burst damage and a better Amplification multiplier. Basic ATK stays at level 1 throughout. Unlock all Bonus Traces as priority — particularly the A6 Trace that increases all DMG by 20% when her SPD is above 115, which it always will be mid-fight after the Skill SPD buff.

How to Play Seele – Tips and Tricks

Seele’s gameplan is simple: spam Skill, chain kills, let Resurgence carry the rotation. The key skill expression comes from understanding when to use your Ultimate and how to maximise Resurgence chains.

Use your Ultimate just before you’re about to kill a target. The Amplification state lasts 2 turns, and the kill from the Amplified Skill immediately triggers Resurgence — meaning you carry the 80% Amplification buff AND the 88% Resurgence buff simultaneously into the free extra turn. That double-buffed free turn is Seele’s highest-damage moment, and you want to hit the beefiest target you can with it.

Always put Seele in the first party slot when running with Silver Wolf so the Weakness Implant matches Seele’s Quantum element. This guarantees the Genius 4-piece’s full DEF ignore on any target, not just naturally Quantum-weak enemies.

Her reactive Skill proc fires automatically when any ally hits an enemy below 50% HP — you don’t control this directly, but you can set it up. In a fight with multiple enemies, focus one enemy down to below 50% HP with teammates’ attacks, then let Seele’s reactive proc fire for free while you save your Skill for a kill shot on a different target. This increases her total Skill uses per turn significantly.

In Pure Fiction specifically, try to chain Resurgence kills across enemies in the same wave without targeting the same enemy twice before clearing the wave. The goal is to trigger Resurgence on every kill, which means never wasting a kill on an already-targeted enemy. Seele with E4 in Pure Fiction is genuinely a machine — every kill gives 15 Energy back, which keeps her Ultimate cycling almost every two turns.

Is Seele Still Good in Patch 4.3?

Yes — the Novaflare buffs did exactly what they needed to. Seele is Tier 1 in Pure Fiction and competitive in Memory of Chaos when paired with the right supports. Her kill-chain mechanic is as fun and effective as ever, and The Hell Where Ideals Burn Light Cone gave her a new best-in-slot option that removes the SPD dependency of her original signature.

She’s not the strongest single-target DPS in the current meta — newer Hunt characters have higher raw ceilings in Memory of Chaos — but in multi-wave Pure Fiction content she’s among the best performers in the game. If you’ve already built her, she’s absolutely worth running. If you’re considering pulling, she’s available in the Celestial Invitation system which makes her accessible without needing a dedicated banner pull, though her supports like Sparkle and Fu Xuan are what really push her to her ceiling.
