Imbibitor Lunae
High Elder Vidyadhara
SS TIER DPSDragon’s Incarnation
Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae is a legendary 5-star Imaginary Destruction character who represents the pinnacle of hypercarry gameplay in Honkai: Star Rail. As the true form of Dan Heng bearing his Vidyadhara heritage, he channels the power of the ancient High Elder Imbibitor Lunae through devastating Enhanced Basic Attacks that consume Skill Points to unleash explosive multi-hit combos.
His unique playstyle revolves around transforming Skill Points into massive damage through three enhancement levels: Transcendence (3 hits), Divine Spear (5 hits with AoE), and Fulgurant Leap (7 hits with heavy AoE). Each enhancement tier dramatically increases multipliers and grants stacking buffs. His Ultimate provides Squama Sacrosancta—special tokens that substitute for Skill Points—enabling sustained burst windows.
What makes DHIL exceptional is his self-sufficient damage scaling through Righteous Heart stacks (60% DMG increase) and Outroar buffs (48% CRIT DMG increase) that ramp throughout his attacks. While incredibly Skill Point hungry, proper team composition and timing transform him into one of the highest single-target burst DPS units in the game, capable of obliterating elite enemies and bosses in Memory of Chaos and Apocalyptic Shadow.
Best Light Cones
Brighter Than the Sun
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ SignatureBest-in-Slot: DHIL’s signature Light Cone that perfectly complements his kit. Increases CRIT Rate by 18-24% and grants 2 stacks of “Dragon’s Call” when using Basic ATK. Each stack increases ATK by 18-30% and Energy Regeneration Rate by 6-12%. When reaching 2 stacks, immediately regenerates 12-20 Energy. This enables his Ultimate-to-BA3 loop with action-advancing supports like Bronya or Sunday, dramatically improving rotation fluidity and damage output. Essential for premium builds.
On the Fall of an Aeon
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ F2P OptionExcellent Free Alternative: Free Light Cone obtained from Herta Store that provides substantial ATK% increase (8-16%) and DMG boost (12-24%) when attacking enemies with Weakness Break. Since DHIL’s Imaginary element excels at breaking Imaginary weakness, this Light Cone offers consistent value. The stats are competitive with many gacha options, making it perfect for F2P players.
Under the Blue Sky
⭐⭐⭐⭐ GachaSolid 4-Star Option: Increases ATK by 16-32% and CRIT Rate by 12-24% when defeating enemies, stacking up to 3 times. Excellent for multi-wave content where DHIL can snowball his stats through consecutive kills. Easy to superimpose and provides strong offensive stats. Particularly valuable in Pure Fiction and Memory of Chaos early floors.
The Moles Welcome You
⭐⭐⭐⭐ F2PAccessible Alternative: Event Light Cone that grants ATK% and additional buffs when hitting multiple enemies. Since Divine Spear and Fulgurant Leap hit adjacent targets, this cone’s conditions are frequently met. Good transitional option while farming for better Light Cones.
Nowhere to Run
⭐⭐⭐ FarmableBudget Starter: 3-star Light Cone that provides ATK% bonus. When equipped by Destruction characters, increases ATK even further. While not optimal, it’s easily obtainable with superimpose copies. Use this only as a placeholder until better options are acquired.
Light Cone Priority
Investment Recommendation: Brighter Than the Sun (signature) is HIGHLY recommended for optimal performance—the energy regeneration enables smooth Ultimate rotations with Bronya/Sunday teams. On the Fall of an Aeon is excellent for F2P and performs 75-80% as well. Under the Blue Sky works great for content with multiple enemy waves. Avoid investing heavily in 3-star options.
Best Relic Sets
Poet of Mourning Collapse (4-Piece)
NEW BEST-IN-SLOT (With Conditions)
Why It’s Amazing: Specifically designed for hypercarries paired with action-advancing supports. When using Sparkle or Sunday at high speed (160+), you can build DHIL with 95-100 SPD and gain 88% CRIT Rate from this set alone! This frees up all your substats for CRIT DMG, ATK%, and efficiency. The set ONLY works in hyperspeed action-advance teams—traditional teams should use Wastelander instead.
Critical Requirements: (1) SPD at 100 or lower, (2) Action-advancing support at 160+ SPD. Without both conditions, use Wastelander of Banditry Desert.
Wastelander of Banditry Desert (4-Piece)
TRADITIONAL BEST-IN-SLOT
Why It’s Excellent: Imprisonment is an Imaginary-specific debuff that’s easily applied by DHIL himself, Welt, or Silver Wolf. Provides both CRIT Rate and massive CRIT DMG scaling. Works in all team compositions without SPD restrictions. More flexible than Poet and only slightly lower damage ceiling.
Best For: Traditional speed builds (120-135 SPD), teams without Sparkle/Sunday, or players who prefer flexible gearing.
Musketeer of Wild Wheat (4-Piece)
ALTERNATIVE OPTION
Why It Works: Generic but effective. All of DHIL’s enhanced attacks are classified as Basic ATKs, so the 10% Basic ATK DMG bonus applies to everything. ATK% and SPD both scale his damage. Easier to farm than Wastelander. Performs 10-15% below Wastelander/Poet but viable as transitional set.
Planar Ornaments
Rutilant Arena
BEST-IN-SLOT ORNAMENT
Why It’s Perfect: Designed for DHIL. All his damage comes from Basic ATKs (enhanced or otherwise). The 70% CRIT Rate threshold is easy to reach with traces, relics, and supports. Provides both CRIT Rate and substantial damage amplification. Undisputed best ornament across all builds.
Inert Salsotto
ALTERNATIVE OPTION
Why It’s Viable: Provides CRIT Rate and Ultimate damage boost. DHIL’s Ultimate deals significant damage and grants Squama Sacrosancta. However, since most damage comes from Basic ATKs rather than Ultimate, Rutilant Arena performs better overall. Use only if you lack Rutilant pieces.
Optimal Main Stats & Sub-Stats
Main Stats Priority
Always CRIT DMG due to high CRIT Rate from kit and relics
ATK% for Poet builds with action advance; SPD for traditional Wastelander
Essential for maximizing element damage output
Best scaling stat for all damage multipliers
Target Stats
Poet Build (with Sparkle/Sunday):
Wastelander Build (Traditional):
Stats Optimization Tips
Poet Build Strategy: Keep SPD at 100 or below, stack CRIT DMG as high as possible (200%+). With 88% CRIT Rate from set + 8% from Rutilant Arena + traces, you barely need CRIT Rate substats. Focus: CRIT DMG > ATK% > Break Effect (for faster toughness break).
Wastelander Build Strategy: Aim for 70%+ CRIT Rate threshold for Rutilant Arena bonus. Balance CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG at roughly 1:2 ratio. Speed at 120-135 ensures decent turn frequency. Focus: CRIT Rate = CRIT DMG > ATK% > SPD.
Universal Priority: ALWAYS use CRIT DMG Body, Imaginary DMG% Sphere, ATK% Rope. The Feet piece is the only flexible slot (ATK% vs SPD depending on build).
Best Team Compositions
🐉 Premium Hypercarry (Best Team)
The Ultimate DHIL Setup: Sparkle is DHIL’s best support—her Skill provides 50% action advance AND refunds 1 Skill Point, enabling BA3 spam while maintaining SP economy. She buffs CRIT DMG by 24-48% and DMG by 15-27%, perfectly complementing his kit. With her S1 Light Cone, she becomes SP-positive!
Sunday is the new top-tier alternative to Sparkle post-4.0 buffs. His Ultimate grants massive CRIT DMG (80%+) and advances action by 100%. His Skill also provides action advance and energy. Sunday works exceptionally well with DHIL’s signature Light Cone for smooth Ultimate rotations.
Tingyun provides 50-60% ATK buff and 50 energy restoration, accelerating Ultimate frequency. She’s SP-positive, compensating for DHIL’s consumption. Aventurine offers shielding, CRIT DMG vulnerability (10%), and is SP-positive. Huohuo provides energy regeneration (enabling more Ultimates) and 40% ATK buffs.
Why It Dominates: Perfect SP economy (Sparkle refunds, Tingyun generates), maximum buff stacking, action manipulation for constant BA3s. Clears all endgame content with ease. This is THE meta DHIL team.
🌊 Bronya Synergy (Ultra Fast)
Alternative Premium Setup: Bronya provides massive single-turn DMG amplification (66-132% DMG increase) and 100% action advance. Her buffs are frontloaded, making her excellent for one-shot strategies. Build Bronya at 160+ SPD while DHIL stays at 135 SPD (must be 1 point slower than Bronya).
The rotation: Bronya Skill on DHIL → DHIL BA3 → Repeat. With DHIL’s signature Light Cone, this loop generates enough energy for frequent Ultimates. Bronya is more SP-neutral than Sparkle (no refunds) but provides higher burst damage per turn.
Tingyun accelerates energy for both DHIL and Bronya. Ruan Mei provides RES PEN and DMG%, plus Break efficiency. Aventurine or Luocha for sustain—both are SP-friendly.
When to Use: Boss content, Apocalyptic Shadow, situations requiring immediate massive burst. Requires precise speed tuning but incredibly powerful when executed correctly.
💎 F2P Excellence
Highly Accessible Powerhouse: Remarkably effective team using free or easily accessible characters. Yukong provides massive ATK% and CRIT Rate buffs—when properly timed, her Ultimate grants 40-80% ATK and 12-28% CRIT Rate. Key is using ONLY Yukong’s Skill to maintain her buff stacks for DHIL’s BA3.
Tingyun offers additional ATK% (50-60%) and energy restoration. Asta provides SPD buffs and ATK%, plus fire weakness implant. Both are SP-positive, enabling DHIL’s consumption. Gallagher (free from events) is SP-positive and heals through Besotted debuff. Lynx provides emergency healing and cleanse.
Budget-Friendly Power: Perfect for new players or F2P accounts. While not as smooth as Sparkle teams, this composition clears Memory of Chaos and Apocalyptic Shadow with proper execution. Yukong requires practice but rewards mastery.
⚡ Mono-Imaginary (Weakness Coverage)
Universal Weakness Team: Silver Wolf implants Imaginary weakness on any enemy, ensuring DHIL always has elemental advantage. Her DEF shred (15-40% DEF reduction) and vulnerability debuffs (10-20% increased DMG taken) amplify DHIL’s damage significantly. She’s SP-positive, using only Basic ATKs for debuff application.
Sparkle or Sunday handle action advance and CRIT buffs. Luocha provides field healing (SP-positive sustain) and is Imaginary element himself, benefiting from Mono-Imaginary resonance. His healing field works perfectly with DHIL’s multi-hit attacks.
Best Use Case: Content with non-Imaginary enemies, high-resistance bosses, or situations where elemental advantage is crucial. Silver Wolf makes DHIL universally viable regardless of enemy lineup. Excellent for Memory of Chaos with varied enemy types.
🎭 Ruan Mei Variant
RES Penetration Focus: Ruan Mei provides All-Type RES PEN (25%), SPD boost (10%), DMG increase (68% for Break-vulnerable enemies), and Break efficiency. Her RES PEN is particularly valuable against high-resistance endgame bosses where DEF shred has diminishing returns.
The SPD buff is multiplicative, helping DHIL cycle turns faster in traditional speed builds. Her Ultimate extends all buffs’ duration, ensuring Sparkle’s or Sunday’s amplifications last through entire rotations. She’s also SP-neutral, rarely needing Skill usage.
When to Use: Boss fights with high resistances, extended encounters where Break efficiency matters, or when you need universal team buffs. Ruan Mei works in both traditional and Poet builds, making her extremely flexible.
Team Building Guidelines
Core Principle: DHIL needs (1) SP generation/management and (2) offensive buffs. Every team MUST address SP economy or he cannot function—use SP-positive or SP-neutral supports exclusively.
Support Priority: Action advance (Sparkle/Sunday/Bronya) > ATK buffers (Tingyun/Yukong) > DEF shred/RES PEN (Silver Wolf/Ruan Mei) > Sustain (SP-positive only).
Speed Tuning: Critical for maximizing buff uptime. Bronya: DHIL must be 1 SPD slower. Sparkle: Build her at 160+ with DHIL at 95-100 (Poet) or 120-135 (Wastelander).
Avoid: SP-hungry supports (Robin with Skill spam, Harmony Trailblazer without proper tuning), shields that reduce SP generation, sustains that require frequent Skill usage.
Trace Priority & Leveling Order
Leveling Priority
-
Basic ATK (Highest Priority)
Level this FIRST to 10. DHIL’s Basic ATK includes all four forms: Beneficent Lotus, Transcendence, Divine Spear, and Fulgurant Leap. Leveling this trace improves ALL of them, making it his most impactful investment. The multiplier increases are substantial—Divine Spear goes from 380% to 494% ATK, Fulgurant Leap from 500% to 650% ATK. -
Skill (Second Priority)
Level to 10 after Basic ATK. Governs the enhancement mechanic and Outroar stacking (6% → 12% CRIT DMG per stack). Essential for his CRIT DMG scaling during Divine Spear and Fulgurant Leap. The Outroar buff is multiplicative with other bonuses. -
Ultimate (Third Priority)
Level to 10 next. Increases Ultimate damage multiplier (180% → 300% ATK main target) and grants 2 Squama Sacrosancta. While important for burst and SP economy, it’s used less frequently than Basic ATK/Skill in actual rotations. -
Talent (Fourth Priority)
Level to 10 last (or leave at 8 if resources are tight). Righteous Heart stacks provide DMG% increase (5% → 10% per stack). Important but less impactful than direct multiplier increases from Basic ATK and Skill. Still worth maxing eventually.
Major Traces (Unlock All Immediately!)
Jolt Anew (A6) – MOST CRITICAL
Immediately regenerates 15 Energy at battle start. This is ESSENTIAL—without it, DHIL cannot use Ultimate quickly enough for optimal rotations. Enables first Ultimate around turn 2-3 instead of turn 4-5. Unlock this before even considering other traces!
Star Veil (A2)
Increases chance to resist Crowd Control debuffs by 35%. Provides essential CC resistance against enemies with Freeze, Imprisonment, or Entanglement. Prevents devastating turn losses from debuffs. Very important for consistency in endgame content.
Aqua Reign (A4)
When dealing DMG to enemy targets with Imaginary Weakness, CRIT DMG increases by 24%. Passive CRIT DMG buff that’s always active when hitting weakness (DHIL’s ideal scenario). Effectively 24% unconditional CRIT DMG in proper matchups. Excellent value trace.
Resource Management
Optimal Path: Unlock all Major Traces IMMEDIATELY (especially A6), then max Basic ATK (most damage), then Skill (CRIT DMG scaling), then Ultimate (burst), finally Talent (DMG% stacks).
Critical Note: Never neglect traces. DHIL is trace-dependent—without maxed Basic ATK and unlocked A6, his performance drops 30-40%. These aren’t optional upgrades.
Gameplay Guide & Mechanics
Understanding Enhanced Basic Attacks
DHIL’s core mechanic is enhancing his Basic ATK up to 3 times per turn:
- Beneficent Lotus (BA0): Normal Basic ATK – 2 hits, 130% ATK multiplier, single-target. Costs 0 SP.
- Transcendence (BA1): 3 hits, 260% ATK multiplier, single-target. Costs 1 SP or 1 Squama Sacrosancta to enhance.
- Divine Spear (BA2): 5 hits, 380% ATK main + 60% ATK to adjacent targets from 4th hit onward. Begins granting Outroar stacks (CRIT DMG +12% per stack, max 4). Costs 2 SP total or 2 Squama Sacrosancta.
- Fulgurant Leap (BA3): 7 hits, 500% ATK main + 180% ATK to adjacent targets from 4th hit onward. Maximum Outroar stacks (48% CRIT DMG). Costs 3 SP total or 3 Squama Sacrosancta.
- Each hit generates 1 stack of Righteous Heart (10% DMG increase), stacking up to 6 times for 60% total DMG boost
- Enhancements reset at turn end—cannot bank enhancements for next turn
Squama Sacrosancta System
Special Energy Tokens:
- Gained from Ultimate (2 Squama Sacrosancta) and Technique (1 Squama Sacrosancta)
- Can hold maximum of 3 Squama Sacrosancta at once (cannot overflow)
- Consuming Squama Sacrosancta counts as consuming Skill Points for all effects
- Enables BA3 without draining team’s SP economy
- With E1, gain additional Squama Sacrosancta and immediate turn after Ultimate
- Priority: Save Squama Sacrosancta for critical burst windows when buffs are stacked
Optimal Rotation Strategy
Opening (Always Use Technique!):
- Use Technique before entering battle (grants 1 Squama Sacrosancta + AoE damage)
- Sparkle Skill on DHIL (action advance + CRIT DMG buff + 1 SP refund)
- DHIL: Enhance 3 times → BA3 using 2 SP + 1 Squama Sacrosancta
- Tingyun Skill on DHIL (ATK buff)
- Sustain provides protection
- Continue cycling Sparkle action advance for BA3 spam
Standard Rotation (With Sparkle/Sunday):
- Sparkle/Sunday Skill on DHIL (action advance + buffs)
- DHIL: BA3 (3 enhancements)
- Sparkle/Sunday advances DHIL again
- DHIL: BA3 again
- Support buffs (Tingyun Ultimate for energy, etc.)
- DHIL uses Ultimate when ready (grants 2 Squama Sacrosancta)
- Immediately BA3 with Squama Sacrosancta (no SP cost!)
Bronya Rotation (Signature Light Cone Required):
- Bronya Skill on DHIL
- DHIL: BA0 (generates energy via signature Light Cone)
- Bronya advances DHIL again
- DHIL: BA3 (full enhancement)
- DHIL Ultimate (generates 2 Squama Sacrosancta)
- BA3 with Squama Sacrosancta
- Repeat BA0 → BA3 pattern
Advanced Tip: Time support Ultimates (Tingyun energy, Aventurine debuff, etc.) right before DHIL’s biggest burst windows. Don’t waste buffs during BA0 or BA1 turns—save everything for BA3.
SP Management Principles
The Golden Rules:
- BA3 costs 3 SP—only sustainable with SP-positive/neutral supports
- Sparkle refunds 1 SP per Skill (making BA3 only 2 SP net)
- Tingyun, Yukong, Asta generate SP through Basic ATKs
- Aventurine, Gallagher, Luocha sustain without Skills
- NEVER use BA3 if it drops team below 1-2 SP reserve (emergency buffer)
- Use BA0 or BA1 during buff downtime to recover SP
- Squama Sacrosancta enables “free” BA3—use them strategically for maximum burst
- With proper team composition, can maintain BA3 every turn indefinitely
Technique Usage
Always Start With Technique:
- Grants “Leaping Dragon” state for 20 seconds
- Can dash through enemies during exploration for instant combat initiation
- Deals 120% ATK Imaginary damage to all enemies at battle start
- Most importantly: Grants 1 Squama Sacrosancta immediately
- Free damage + free token = always use when possible
- Leaping Dragon dash blocks incoming attacks during exploration
Common Mistakes to Avoid
❌ Don’t forget Technique before battles—missing that 1 Squama Sacrosancta hurts rotation
❌ Don’t waste buffs on BA0 or BA1—save Sparkle/Sunday advances for BA3
❌ Don’t spam BA3 without SP reserves—always maintain 1-2 SP emergency buffer
❌ Don’t use Ultimate at full Squama Sacrosancta (3/3)—you’ll waste tokens!
✅ Do use BA0 strategically when waiting for buff cooldowns to recover SP
✅ Do track Squama Sacrosancta count—use Ultimate at 1-2 stacks for maximum efficiency
✅ Do position properly—Divine Spear/Fulgurant Leap AoE hits adjacent enemies
Eidolon Guide
Eidolon Priority & Value
E0 (Base): Already incredibly powerful and completely functional. DHIL is top-tier at E0—all eidolons are pure luxury. F2P players should absolutely stop here. His base kit delivers SS tier performance.
E1 (Game-Changing): After using Ultimate, action is Advanced Forward by 100% and gains 1 extra Squama Sacrosancta. This is LEGENDARY—considered one of the best E1s in the entire game. Enables Ultimate → instant turn → BA3 with Squama Sacrosancta combo. Essentially grants a free turn. Increases damage per rotation cycle by 35-45%. BEST VALUE EIDOLON.
E2: Skill level +2 (max level 15). Increases Outroar CRIT DMG bonus and enhancement mechanics. Solid damage increase (10-15%) but pales compared to E1. Standard level increase eidolon.
E4: The buff effect granted by Outroar lasts until the end of his NEXT turn. This means Outroar stacks (48% CRIT DMG) persist across turns! Enables carrying full CRIT DMG buff into subsequent actions. Strong quality-of-life and damage boost (15-20%). Second-best eidolon after E1.
E6: After any other ally uses their Ultimate, the Imaginary RES PEN of DHIL’s next Fulgurant Leap attack increases by 20%, stacking up to 3 times (60% total RES PEN). Powerful against high-resistance bosses but situational. Requires allies to use Ultimates frequently. Damage increase: 20-30% in optimal conditions, less in practice.
Investment Recommendation: E0 is complete. E1 is EXCEPTIONAL value—if you’re going to invest eidolons, E1 is the ONLY mandatory one. E2 is filler. E4 provides solid value. E6 is whale territory. The power curve: E0 → E1 (massive jump) → E4 (moderate) → E6 (diminishing returns).
Pull Priority: Light Cone vs Eidolons
For Most Players: E0S1 (Character + Signature Light Cone) > E1S0. The signature Light Cone’s energy regeneration transforms his rotation fluidity and is more impactful than E1 for practical gameplay.
F2P Focused: E0S0 with On the Fall of an Aeon is completely viable. Save pulls for supports like Sparkle or Sunday instead.
Dolphins: E1S1 is the absolute peak value combination. Both signature + E1 create a smooth, powerful experience.
Whales: E1S1 is the optimal stopping point. E4 if you’re a mega-fan. E6 is luxury with diminishing returns—only for devoted DHIL mains.
Special Note: E1 is so good that some players argue E1S0 > E0S1. Both paths are valid—choose based on whether you value smoothness (Light Cone) or explosive burst (E1).
Strengths & Weaknesses
🐉 Strengths
- Exceptional Damage Ceiling: Among the highest single-target burst DPS in the game—can delete elite enemies in one turn
- AoE Capability: Divine Spear and Fulgurant Leap deal significant splash damage to adjacent enemies
- Self-Sufficient Buffs: Righteous Heart (60% DMG) and Outroar (48% CRIT DMG) don’t require external sources
- Imaginary Advantage: Imaginary element is rarely resisted and excels at toughness damage
- Flexible Build Paths: Works with both Poet (hyperspeed) and Wastelander (traditional) builds
- Legendary E1: One of the best E1s in the entire game, making him future-proof with investment
- Multi-Hit Synergy: Each individual hit can proc effects (Rutilant Arena, Righteous Heart stacks, etc.)
- Boss Killer: Dominates Apocalyptic Shadow and elite-focused Memory of Chaos stages
⚠️ Weaknesses
- Extreme SP Hunger: Consumes 3 SP per optimal turn—requires entire team built around SP generation
- Support Dependent: Absolutely needs Sparkle, Sunday, or Bronya to function—cannot work without them
- Complex Execution: Requires careful SP management, buff timing, and rotation planning
- Inflexible Team Building: Forces specific team compositions—cannot run SP-hungry supports
- Light Cone Dependency: Performs significantly worse without Brighter Than the Sun for smooth rotations
- Speed Tuning Required: Poet builds need precise SPD management (95-100); Bronya teams need exact -1 SPD
- Powercreep Concerns: Released in Version 1.3—newer DPS units match or exceed with easier execution
- Not Beginner-Friendly: High skill floor requiring game knowledge about SP economy and action manipulation
Meta Position & Character Comparison
Imbibitor Lunae vs Other Top DPS
vs Phainon (Physical Destruction): Both are transformation-based hypercarries with massive burst potential. Phainon has better self-sustain and simpler execution. DHIL has higher single-turn damage ceiling but requires more setup. Phainon dominates in sustainless teams; DHIL needs dedicated sustain. Both excel in boss content but Phainon is more forgiving.
vs Firefly (Fire Destruction): Firefly uses Break mechanics and Super Break, making her fundamentally different. Firefly is easier to build and execute. DHIL has higher ceiling with perfect play but much harder to master. Firefly works in more team compositions. DHIL needs specific premium supports. Both are top-tier but for different reasons.
vs Feixiao (Wind Hunt): Feixiao offers consistent follow-up attack damage with SP-positive economy. DHIL provides explosive burst with SP-negative economy. Feixiao is more flexible in team building; DHIL is locked to hypercarry. Feixiao better for multi-target sustained; DHIL better for single-target burst deletion. Different archetypes, both SS tier.
vs Acheron (Lightning Nihility): Acheron has easier team building and consistent performance. DHIL has higher peak damage in optimal conditions. Acheron works with debuff stackers; DHIL needs action advancers. Acheron better for versatility; DHIL better for specialized hypercarry setups. Both dominate endgame but Acheron is more accessible.
Should You Pull Imbibitor Lunae?
✅ Pull if:
- You own Sparkle or Sunday (mandatory for optimal performance)
- You have or can obtain his signature Light Cone
- You enjoy high-skill-ceiling hypercarry gameplay
- You need an Imaginary DPS for boss content
- You want spectacular visual effects (his animations are gorgeous)
- You’re willing to invest in SP-positive supports
- You like characters that scale with player skill
⚠️ Consider Skipping if:
- You don’t own Sparkle, Sunday, or Bronya (he struggles without them)
- You’re a new player unfamiliar with SP management
- You prefer simple plug-and-play DPS characters
- You cannot obtain his signature Light Cone
- You have limited SP-positive support options
- You already have strong single-target DPS (Phainon, Firefly, etc.)
- You prefer flexible team compositions over specialized hypercarry
Final Verdict: Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae remains a top-tier DPS despite being from Version 1.3, testament to his exceptional design. His explosive damage and stunning animations make him incredibly satisfying to play. However, he demands specific team compositions and player skill. If you have Sparkle/Sunday and enjoy mastery-rewarding gameplay, he’s an excellent pull. If you’re new or lack proper supports, wait for easier alternatives. His E1 is legendary but not mandatory. Rated SS tier for good reason—one of the most powerful hypercarries when properly built.
