destiny 2 all new catalysts monuments of triumph update

    TL;DR

    • Monument of Triumph added 26 new Exotic Catalysts and gave real perks to 9 previously stat-only ones.
    • Every Exotic weapon in Destiny 2 now has a catalyst. This is the final state of every Exotic you own.
    • 18 catalysts drop from ritual playlists (Vanguard Ops, Crucible, Gambit) and Exotic Orders.
    • 8 catalysts drop from final bosses of their original raid or dungeon — no shortcut for these.
    • Turncoat catalyst unlocks at Triumphant Rewards Pass Rank 90. Fafnir catalyst unlocks at 700 kills.
    • If you already masterworked any of the 9 reworked stat-only catalysts before June 2026, the new perk applies automatically on login.
    • Top priority chases: Conditional Finality, Divinity, One Thousand Voices, Xenophage, Anarchy, The Last Word.
    • Track exactly what you are missing under Collections → Patterns and Catalysts → Exotic Catalysts.

The Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph new Exotic Catalysts are one of the update’s most significant rewards for long-term players. Bungie added 26 new catalysts and updated nine old ones — no Exotic weapon has been left behind, and that is a fitting way to close the game’s live-service era. Every golden-tier weapon in your collection now has an upgrade path, and several of them turn weapons that have been sitting in vaults for years into legitimate endgame options. This guide covers every new catalyst perk and drop source, all 9 reworked older catalysts, and a recommended priority order for farming them. Get Destiny 2 free on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, or the Bungie website.

How the Catalyst Drop System Works in Monument of Triumph

Before farming anything, understand the split between the two drop paths. Getting this wrong wastes sessions in the wrong activity.

Where a weapon originally came from determines where its catalyst drops.

    • Raid and dungeon Exotic catalysts — drop from the final boss of the original activity that weapon came from. These are random drops, not guaranteed. You need to run the corresponding raid or dungeon and defeat the final boss repeatedly until it drops. There are 8 catalysts in this category.
    • Everything else (18 catalysts) — drops from ritual playlists (Vanguard Ops, Crucible, Gambit completions) and from Exotic Order payouts at the Seasonal Hub. These drop passively while you play any of those modes. You can also spend Exotic Orders targeting specific names you are missing.
    • Turncoat catalyst — unlocks at Triumphant Rewards Pass Rank 90, then requires 700 kills to complete. See the Turncoat guide for full details.
    • Fafnir catalyst — unlocks at approximately 700 kills with the weapon. No activity requirement. See the Fafnir guide for how to farm kills quickly.
    • Cull’s Shadow catalysts — four separate catalysts earned through the Oblation mission chain. See the Cull’s Shadow catalysts guide for every step.

There is no deadline. Monument of Triumph content is permanent, so you can chase these at your own pace. Track what you are missing by opening Collections → Patterns and Catalysts → Exotic Catalysts. Every missing catalyst shows its exact drop source. Check this before farming so you never run the wrong activity. Equip newly dropped catalysts immediately so masterwork kill progress accumulates passively during your normal sessions.

All 26 New Exotic Catalysts — Perks and Drop Sources

Ritual Pool Catalysts (Vanguard Ops, Crucible, Gambit, or Exotic Orders)

These 18 catalysts drop passively while you play playlist content. Run these activities normally and they will arrive over time. You can accelerate the process by spending Exotic Orders at the Seasonal Hub and targeting specific names.

    The Last Word
    The Last Word
    • The Last Word — Killing Wind + Envious Assassin: Final blows grant increased mobility, weapon range, and handling. Defeating targets with other weapons before drawing The Last Word transfers ammo to the magazine from reserves and can overflow it. The new catalyst makes it a gunslinger’s dream in both PvE and PvP — the overflowed magazine combined with Killing Wind speed makes consecutive hip-fire duels feel relentless.
    • Anarchy — Jolting Feedback: Continuous damage with this weapon inflicts Jolt on targets. While amplified, Jolt applies faster. Anarchy’s boss damage identity is restored — Jolt from the Arc blight pools applies on top of the existing damage-over-time, giving raids and dungeon bosses a consistent Arc elemental debuff throughout damage phases.
    • Riskrunner — Chain Reaction: Each final blow with this weapon creates an elemental damage explosion. Riskrunner is one of the biggest winners of the entire balance sweep — Chain Reaction stacks on top of its already exceptional Arc chain lightning, turning it into one of the strongest add-clear Exotics in the game.
    • Tarrabah — Ambitious Assassin: Defeating targets with other weapons before drawing Tarrabah transfers ammo to the magazine from reserves, with potential overflow. In sustained combat where you cycle between Tarrabah and other weapons, the magazine stays full almost continuously.
    • Bastion — Broadside: The blast radius of this weapon increases when surrounded by combatants. While active, this weapon deals significantly less damage to the wielder. Rewards close-range aggressive use against dense enemy groups.
    • Devil’s Ruin — Sundial: This weapon gains reload speed, handling, and ADS speed when you are Amplified, Radiant, or have Devour active. Works with Arc, Solar, and Void builds simultaneously — any of the three buff states triggers the handling improvement.
    • Edge of Concurrence — Precision Instrument: Dealing sustained damage increases precision damage. Rewards continuous beam damage against stationary targets. Solid for dungeon boss damage phases where the sword can contact a crit spot consistently.
    • Edge of Action — Elemental Capacitor: Applying an elemental debuff to a target increases reload speed, aim assist, and movement while ADS for a short duration. Feeds naturally into builds that apply frequent elemental effects through abilities.
    • Edge of Intent — Classy Contender: Kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Activating your grenade ability reloads this weapon from reserves. Creates a grenade-weapon reload loop useful in ability-heavy builds.
    • Deterministic Chaos — Repulsor Brace: Defeating a Void-debuffed target grants a Void Overshield. In Void builds where enemies are already Weakened or Volatile, Deterministic Chaos kills passively generate survivability stacks throughout an encounter.
    • Winterbite — Rimestealer: Destroying a Stasis crystal or defeating a frozen target with this weapon grants Frost Armor. In Stasis builds with consistent crystal and Freeze generation, Frost Armor stacks build rapidly during heavy encounters.
    • Khvostov 7G-0X — Attrition Orbs: Dealing damage creates Orbs of Power based on the number of targets hit. On a weapon that fires rapidly and can hit multiple targets with ricochet bullets, Attrition Orbs generates a steady stream of Orbs during sustained fire — strong for any build relying on Orb generation for ability loops.
    • Still Hunt — Thresh: Killing combatants with this weapon generates a small amount of Super energy. On a sniper that already generates Golden Gun charges from precision kills and Champion eliminations, Thresh adds Super energy on top of the existing charge generation loop.
    • Parasite — Envious Arsenal: Defeating targets with other weapons before drawing Parasite transfers ammo from reserves to the magazine. This means Parasite can be reloaded by other weapons in a damage rotation — possibly while simultaneously feeding Worm Hunger — making its DPS rotation cleaner than ever.
    • The Chaperone — Roadborn Refined: Extended Roadborn windows and increased precision damage scaling during the buff. Rewards chained precision slug kills with a longer window to exploit the range and damage bonus that made The Chaperone one of the strongest PvP Specials in the game.
    • Wavesplitter — Supercharged Wave: Temporarily increases reload speed and handling after sprinting or while amplified. The effect is improved when amplified. Arc builds already generating amplified consistently will find Wavesplitter handling significantly better during its active window.
    • Truth — Reaper’s Tithe: Killing combatants with this weapon generates a small amount of Super energy. On a rocket launcher with aggressive tracking and proximity detonation, Reaper’s Tithe accumulates Super quickly in dense encounters where the tracking consistently connects.
    • Microcosm — Thresh + Stopping Power: Killing combatants generates a small amount of Super energy. This weapon’s Kinetic ordinance can more easily stagger combatants and grants increased target acquisition and damage against low-health targets. The stagger enhancement is especially useful in Grandmaster Nightfalls where finishing off high-health Champions at low HP is a consistent risk window.

Raid and Dungeon Catalysts (Final Boss Drops)

These 8 catalysts require running the specific activity they are tied to and defeating the final boss. They are random drops — there is no guaranteed delivery. Run these on featured rotation weeks when encounters are farmable without per-run lockouts, and plan to spend multiple sessions on the ones you most want.

    • One Thousand Voices — Fall from Grace (Last Wish, Riven encounter): Detonations produce Taken energy that aggressively seeks out nearby targets and Blights them. On an already hard-hitting fusion rifle that fires a sustained beam, every detonation now scatters seeking Taken projectiles that Blight additional enemies in a radius around the target. One of the strongest new catalysts for add-clear in dense encounters. Drops from the Riven of a Thousand Voices and Queenswalk encounters in Last Wish.
    • Conditional Finality — Heal Clip + Rimestealer (Root of Nightmares, Nezarec encounter): Reloading shortly after a final blow grants Cure to you and nearby allies. Destroying a Stasis crystal or defeating a frozen target grants Frost Armor. The Heal Clip addition directly addresses Conditional Finality’s only weakness in endgame PvE — no self-sustain between shotgun engagements. Every kill-and-reload now heals you and your allies, making it viable in Grandmaster Nightfalls and Master raids where survivability between close-range bursts matters. Conditional Finality tops the priority chase list alongside Divinity.
    • Divinity — Jolting Feedback + Focused Fury (Garden of Salvation, final encounter): Continuous damage with this weapon inflicts Jolt on targets. While amplified, Jolt applies faster. Dealing precision hits on half the magazine triggers a 20% damage bonus for 11 seconds. Anarchy and Divinity now both apply Jolt, which opens bosses up to additional Arc damage from the debuff on top of Divinity’s existing 15% cage debuff. This makes Divinity significantly more valuable in fireteam damage phases than it was before — the cage debuff and the Jolt both apply simultaneously during the damage window.
    • Xenophage — Rampage + Chain Reaction (Pit of Heresy, final boss): Rapid kills stack weapon damage up to three times. Final blows cause targets to explode. Two perks on Xenophage create a stacking explosion loop that is a strong pick for add-clear in endgame content. At full Rampage stacks, each Chain Reaction explosion triggers further kills that maintain both perks simultaneously. Farm the Pit of Heresy final boss during featured dungeon weeks.
    • Wish-Ender — One for All (Shattered Throne, final boss): Hitting three separate targets increases weapon damage for a moderate duration. On a bow that pierces Barrier Champion shields and sees through walls, One for All activates naturally when scanning a room with multiple targets before engaging. Gives Wish-Ender genuine damage output on top of its existing utility role. Farm the Shattered Throne final boss.
    • Collective Obligation — Repulsor Brace (Vow of the Disciple, Rhulk encounter): Defeating a Void-debuffed target grants a Void Overshield. Collective Obligation needed Repulsor Brace for years after it was outclassed by the introduction of that perk — now its copy-Void-debuffs mechanic feeds directly into a survivability loop where every Void-debuffed kill shields you. Farm the Rhulk encounter in Vow of the Disciple. For more on the Vow of the Disciple loot pool, see the Destiny 2 Vow of the Disciple loot table and god rolls guide.
    • Eyes of Tomorrow — Demolitionist + Blast Distributor (Salvation’s Edge, Witness encounter): Final blows generate grenade energy. Activating your grenade ability reloads this weapon from reserves. Splash damage grants a bonus to your Grenade stat. Eyes of Tomorrow was always powerful but grenade-loop neutral. Demolitionist and Blast Distributor turn every rocket kill into grenade energy, connecting the Heavy slot weapon to your ability loop in a way it never had before. Farm the Witness encounter in Salvation’s Edge.
    • Euphony — Enlightened Action (Salvation’s Edge, Witness encounter): Dealing damage improves reload speed and handling continuously. On a Strand Linear Fusion Rifle that generates Threadlings on kills, smoother reloads between shots means more Threadlings spawning faster per encounter. Farm the Witness encounter in Salvation’s Edge. For how to get Euphony itself, see the Destiny 2 Euphony guide.

All 9 Reworked Stat-Only Catalysts — Now Have Real Perks

These nine Exotic weapons already had catalysts, but those catalysts only granted flat stat bonuses with no active perk. Monument of Triumph added a real perk to each one. If you already masterworked any of these weapons before June 2026, the perk upgrade is automatic. No re-farming required — log in and the perk is active.

    • Borealis — Shield Disorient: Shooting through an enemy shield disorients that enemy and nearby combatants. Adds crowd-control utility to an already element-swapping Exotic sniper — piercing one shielded enemy disrupts everything standing near it.
    • Coldheart — Supercharged Magazine: Increases magazine size and charge rate while sustained beam damage is active. Coldheart was already a solid beginner Exotic. Supercharged Magazine lets it sustain longer damage windows before needing to reload, removing one of its main weaknesses.
    • Crimson — To the Pain: Taking damage below a health threshold temporarily increases weapon handling and reload speed. Synergises directly with Crimson’s existing life-steal on precision kills — when you are in the danger zone where To the Pain activates, landing the next precision shot both triggers the buff and heals you back out of danger.
    • Hard Light — Light Touch: While this weapon is equipped, taking damage increases handling and aim assist until the weapon is stowed. Hard Light’s ricochet bullets already gave it utility at range — Light Touch adds passive aim assist while under fire, which is when consistent aim matters most in Crucible and endgame content.
    • Merciless — Heal Clip: Reloading shortly after a final blow grants Cure to you and nearby allies. Merciless was a niche DPS fusion rifle that saw limited play. Heal Clip gives it a survival role in Grandmaster and Master content where the team needs healing between encounters and no Well of Radiance is available.
    • Skyburner’s Oath — Incandescent + Burning Ambition: Precision kills spread Scorch to nearby enemies. Defeating Scorched targets spreads further Scorch. This is the best Solar add-clear Exotic weapon in the game post-patch — you ignite things, you spread Scorch, you push further Ignitions, and it runs itself. Skyburner’s Oath was a quirky oddity before this rework. It is now a genuine Solar add-clear recommendation in any content where enemy density is high.
    • The Lament — Burning Ambition: Defeating Scorched targets spreads Scorch to nearby enemies. The Lament already applied Scorch through its serrated blade attacks. Burning Ambition turns every Scorched kill into an Ignition chain across surrounding enemies — turning the sword into a room-clearer between damage phases.
    • Thunderlord — Voltaic Detonator: Continuous fire causes targets to detonate with Arc energy on death. Thunderlord was a beloved legacy weapon with limited modern relevance. Voltaic Detonator adds Arc explosions on kills during sustained fire, giving it a niche as a crowd-control machine gun in Arc builds with high enemy density.
    • Vex Mythoclast — Calculated Balance Extended: The sustained-damage Vex Mythoclast catalyst activation now means you no longer need kills to maintain the Overcharge loop — you just need to hold the trigger. The catalyst also now activates from sustained damage rather than requiring precision kills specifically. Solar builds pairing Vex Mythoclast with Dawn Chorus or Shieldburst now have a consistent Ignition engine in the primary slot.

    Notable Existing Catalyst Updates

Several weapons that already had real-perk catalysts received further tuning alongside the new additions:

    • Touch of Malice: The catalyst swaps Rapid Hit for Precision Instrument, alongside a final-round damage buff. The catalyst perk now scales with sustained precision hits rather than reload speed, leaning into the weapon’s single-target sustained damage identity.
    • Hierarchy of Needs: Seekers now apply Scorch on hit with additional Scorch per precision hit. The catalyst adds increased hip-fire accuracy. The Hierarchy of Needs bow build is real — pairing it with Solar Scorch loops gives it consistent elemental uptime that was previously not possible.
    • Fate of All Fools: A reworked stacking system with the special reload now granting a bonus-damage micro missile round. The reload timing window is more forgiving than the original version.

Which Catalysts Should You Chase First?

Not every catalyst is worth the same time investment. Here is a priority order based on how much each one changes the weapon’s endgame viability:

    Chase Immediately (Highest Impact)

    • Conditional Finality (Root of Nightmares) — Heal Clip turns the best PvP shotgun into a self-sustaining endgame weapon. Run Root of Nightmares on featured weeks.
    • Divinity (Garden of Salvation) — Jolting Feedback on top of the 15% cage debuff makes Divinity mandatory in any Arc-oriented raid fireteam. Run Garden of Salvation on featured weeks. Check Destiny 2 raids in order for the featured rotation schedule.
    • Anarchy (Ritual Playlist) — Jolting Feedback from the ritual pool. Drops passively while playing any playlist — equip Anarchy, play Vanguard Ops, collect it over time.
    • The Last Word (Ritual Playlist) — Killing Wind and Envious Assassin make The Last Word the best PvP Exotic primary for aggressive play. Drops from ritual playlists passively.
    • Skyburner’s Oath (Already Unlocked if Masterworked) — If you already had this catalyst before June 2026, log in and Incandescent is active immediately. The strongest instant upgrade in the update for Solar players.

    Chase During Featured Rotation Weeks

    • One Thousand Voices (Last Wish) — Fall from Grace adds seeking Taken Blights to every detonation. Run Last Wish when featured. The all raid loot tables guide covers what else Last Wish drops alongside this catalyst.
    • Xenophage (Pit of Heresy) — Rampage and Chain Reaction together create a stacking explosion loop. Run Pit of Heresy when featured in the dungeon rotation. Check Destiny 2 dungeons in order for the current dungeon rotation.
    • Wish-Ender (Shattered Throne) — One for All adds real damage output to the utility-focused bow. Run Shattered Throne final boss during featured weeks.
    • Collective Obligation (Vow of the Disciple) — Repulsor Brace was the missing piece this weapon needed for years. Run Vow of the Disciple when featured.

    Let Drop Passively

The remaining ritual pool catalysts — Tarrabah, Bastion, Devil’s Ruin, Edge of Concurrence, Edge of Action, Edge of Intent, Deterministic Chaos, Winterbite, Khvostov, Still Hunt, Parasite, The Chaperone, Wavesplitter, Truth, and Microcosm — all drop from Vanguard Ops, Crucible, Gambit, and Exotic Orders over time. Equip the weapons you want to masterwork and play your normal sessions. These arrive without dedicated farming if you keep your most-used Exotics equipped and let the drop system work in the background.

How to Track Your Catalyst Progress

The fastest way to know exactly what you are missing is built into the game. Open your Collections screen from the character menu. Select the Patterns and Catalysts tab on the right side. Open the Exotic Catalysts section — the fourth tab. Every catalyst you have not yet obtained is listed here with its exact drop source shown beneath it. Use this before each farming session so you never run the wrong activity.

Once a catalyst drops, equip it on the weapon immediately. Masterwork kill progress accumulates passively during normal play with the weapon equipped — you do not need to dedicate separate sessions to completing the kill count after the catalyst drops. For the complete Monument of Triumph update context covering Legendary Marks, Tenet vendors, and all other new systems alongside this catalyst chase, see the Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph complete guide. For the new Exotic weapons added in this update — Turncoat, Fafnir, and Cull’s Shadow — the Turncoat guide, Fafnir guide, and Cull’s Shadow guide each cover their respective catalyst paths in full detail.
