What Changed for PvP in Monument of Triumph?
Monument of Triumph (Update 9.7.0, June 9, 2026) is Destiny 2’s final live-service update. Since no further balance patches are coming, the Crucible meta you see here is the permanent state of the game.
The most important PvP-specific changes from the update are:
- Artifact mods are disabled in Competitive Crucible and Trials of Osiris. Your loadout must stand on its own without seasonal modifiers. This makes base weapon stats and perks more important than ever.
- Vex Mythoclast received a major buff. Its catalyst now includes an improved Rewind Rounds perk, giving it about 30 seconds of uninterrupted shooting. Combined with its alternate Linear Fusion Rifle mode, it is the top Exotic primary in PvP.
- Rocket Pulse Rifles were nerfed significantly — reduced damage, reduced blast radius, and reduced Super generation. Drop every Rocket Pulse Rifle from your loadout.
- Every Exotic now has a catalyst, some of which meaningfully improved PvP viability for previously niche weapons.
- Anti-Champion is now frame-intrinsic — no artifact dependency needed, which opens build flexibility in all playlists.
Unlike PvE, the Crucible is not about raw DPS. Time-to-kill (TTK) — the fewer shots needed to eliminate an opponent, the better. The weapons ranked here are consistent, reliable, and offer some of the fastest TTKs in the 2026 sandbox.
