- Morgeth Surpassing is a Pantheon 2.0 activity with three sequential boss encounters: Warpriest, Consecrated Mind, and Morgeth.
- Warpriest combines the Annihilator Totem encounter with the original Warpriest boss fight from King’s Fall — you build Deathsinger’s Power and deposit it to open a DPS phase.
- Consecrated Mind merges the Conflux relay defense from Garden of Salvation with the boss fight — five players hold relays while a runner deposits Voltaic Motes.
- Morgeth mixes the original Last Wish boss fight with Queens Walk mechanics — players collect Taken Strength, use relics to free trapped teammates, and call out symbols to unlock a final DPS phase.
- Picking up a third Taken Strength immediately kills you — this is the most common wipe cause in the Morgeth encounter.
- Rewards include Tier 5 armor, Spoils of Conquest, Alone as a God, Bane of Sorrow, and old raid armor ornaments.
- Run Adventure difficulty first to learn the mechanics — it has infinite revives and relaxed timing before you attempt Standard or Custom.
The Destiny 2 Morgeth Surpassing Pantheon guide covers the second of two launch activities in Pantheon 2.0, introduced in Monument of Triumph on June 9, 2026. Each of the three bosses here is a hybrid — taking the original raid encounter and fusing it with a non-boss mechanic from the same raid. That means Warpriest, Consecrated Mind, and Morgeth all play differently than you remember. This guide breaks down every boss cleanly so your team knows exactly what to do before you step into the activity.
How to Unlock Morgeth Surpassing in Destiny 2

Before you can run Morgeth Surpassing, pick up the Weapons of the Pantheon quest from Drifter in the Tower. This quest is required to access all Pantheon 2.0 activities. After collecting it, navigate to the Raids section in the Destinations screen and open the Pantheon tab. Morgeth Surpassing is available there as a standalone node.
It is recommended to clear Calus Resplendent at least once before running Morgeth Surpassing. Calus Resplendent uses simpler hybrid mechanics and is a better introduction to how Pantheon 2.0 blends encounters. Morgeth Surpassing is harder — tighter role rotation, tighter timing, and heavier communication requirements across all three fights. See the Calus Resplendent Pantheon guide if you need to clear that first.
Difficulty Tiers: Which to Run
Pantheon 2.0 has three difficulty options.
- Adventure: Infinite revives, Power cap lifted, relaxed mechanic timing. Use this to learn the encounter layouts if your team has not seen King’s Fall, Garden of Salvation, or Last Wish before.
- Standard: Limited revives, weekly Adept weapon drops. The correct difficulty for most teams farming gear.
- Custom: Feats active, stacking power handicap, best reward quality. Run this only after every player knows each encounter cold. Wipes are expensive here.
Pantheon 2.0 has no matchmaking. You need a full six-player fireteam. Use LFG channels in the Destiny 2 Discord or the in-game Fireteam Finder if you do not have a pre-made group.
Boss 1: Warpriest — Mechanics and Role Breakdown

Warpriest in Pantheon 2.0 is the King’s Fall boss fight merged with the Annihilator Totem encounter from the same raid. The arena has two sections: the totem rooms on either side of the starting area, and the Warpriest room through the long doorway.
Warpriest Core Loop
The goal is to build enough Deathsinger’s Power from the totem rooms, deposit it in the Warpriest room to trigger a DPS phase, and deal damage to Warpriest before the opportunity closes. Repeat until the boss is dead.
Warpriest Role Assignments
Split your team into two sides — left and right — with three players each.
- Brand Holder (Player 1): Pick up the Brand of the Weaver at the entrance to your totem room. Walk under the Annihilator Totem and kill enemies to accumulate Deathsinger’s Power. Call out at 10 seconds remaining on your brand timer.
- Brand Claimer (Player 2): Kill the Wizard in the main room to spawn a Taken Knight. Kill the Taken Knight to get the Brand Claimer. Take it to Player 1 and interact to “Steal Brand.” This passes the brand to Player 2 and lets Player 1 deposit their Deathsinger’s Power.
- Plate Guard (Player 3): Stand near the three green plates in the Warpriest room. Players depositing Deathsinger’s Power need a clear path to the plates. Guard them from ad interference.
After Player 1 deposits their Power, the rotation continues: Player 2 now holds the brand, Player 3 gets the Brand Claimer and steals from Player 2, Player 1 returns to the plate guard position. The rotation keeps running until enough Power is deposited.
Triggering the DPS Phase
When enough Deathsinger’s Power has been deposited at a plate, that plate turns red. This is the signal. Step off it, then step back on. This grants Brand of the Initiate — the buff that allows all players in the room to damage Warpriest. Everyone on both sides should push into the Warpriest room for DPS at this moment.
Warpriest will retreat behind a pillar after the damage window closes. Survive behind cover during his Tomb Ship blast attack. Then start the totem rotation again for the next phase.
Warpriest Tips
- Call your brand timer at 10 seconds — do not wait until it expires. A missed brand handoff resets the Power accumulation on your side.
- The player depositing Deathsinger’s Power determines how many Brand of the Initiate stacks your team gets — the more Power they deposit in one go, the longer your DPS window.
- Unstoppable Ogres spawn at Power thresholds of 50, 100, and 150 deposited. Have anti-Unstoppable weapons ready on at least two players.
Boss 2: Consecrated Mind — Mechanics and Role Breakdown
Consecrated Mind combines the original Garden of Salvation boss fight with the Conflux relay defense encounter from the same raid. Five players each hold an assigned relay while a sixth player acts as a runner connecting the group.

Relay Positions
Before starting, assign each player one of the five relay positions:
- Starting area relay
- Left side relay
- Right side relay
- Straight alley relay
- Center relay
The sixth player is the runner. The runner rotates between all five relays using portals to help each player refresh their Enlightened buff.
Consecrated Mind Core Loop
Start the encounter by shooting the mini-boss Hydra named Angelic. Defeating it spawns a Vex square. Shoot the square and tether it to the relay in the starting area — this grants Enlightened to everyone nearby.
With the Enlightened buff, each relay player must keep shielded Vex enemies out of their assigned relay. Vex that reach the relay and sacrifice themselves cause a wipe. The Enlightened buff has a timer. When it starts running low, shoot the Vex square near your relay and have the runner stand between you and the relay to refresh the tether and reapply Enlightened.
When the text “Undergrowth Defenses Subsided” appears, the wave pauses. This is the window to rotate the runner to any relays that need urgent Enlightened refreshes.
Consecrated Mind DPS and Wipe Mechanic
Each alley has a Malignant Motekeeper Hobgoblin boss. Killing it drops Voltaic Motes. The runner deposits motes into the central relay to trigger the damage phase. Call out the Hobgoblin location to the runner when you spot it near your relay.
During the encounter, Consecrated Mind will periodically spit Voltaic Overflow on the arena floor. Stand inside the spit and call out which of the boss’s eyes glows red. Another player needs to shoot those eyes to prevent a wipe. The player hit by Voltaic Overflow carries a debuff and cannot trigger this mechanic again until the debuff expires — rotate the role.
Once enough motes are deposited, the damage phase opens. Consecrated Mind will retreat to the back relay. All players focus DPS. Long-range weapons work well here — the boss is at distance and sniper rifles or linear fusions outperform close-range options.
Boss 3: Morgeth — Mechanics and Role Breakdown
Morgeth is the final boss and the most complex encounter in Morgeth Surpassing. It merges the original Last Wish Morgeth fight with the Queens Walk mechanics from the same raid. This encounter has two distinct phases: the main arena phase and a Queens Walk final stand.

Morgeth Core Loop: Taken Strength and Relic Saves
Split the team into two groups of three — left side and right side. Taken Strength buffs spawn as white orbs around the arena. Each player must collect two. This is the most important rule in the entire encounter:
Collecting a third Taken Strength kills you instantly. There is no warning, no grace period. It is an immediate death. Track your current Taken Strength count at all times.
After collecting two Taken Strength, Morgeth will lock a player in place with Umbral Enervation. That player has roughly 20 seconds before they die. A teammate with zero Taken Strength must kill a nearby enemy to spawn an Eye of Riven, pick up the Taken relic it drops, and use the relic’s grenade ability on the locked player to free them.
Freeing a player transfers their Taken Strength to the player who freed them. Be careful: if the rescuer already has Taken Strength x1 and frees a player with x2, they will carry x3 and die. Only a player with zero Taken Strength should perform a rescue.
Morgeth Damage Phase
Once all Acolyte Eyes behind Morgeth are destroyed using the Eye of Riven relic, Morgeth begins glowing. He retreats to the back of the arena near the relays. This is the DPS window. Focus all damage on his back — the critical hit spot on Morgeth is the large protrusion on his back. Front-facing shots deal reduced damage.
While damaging, watch the Amassed Strength debuff meter at the top of the screen. If it fills completely, the entire fireteam wipes. To reset it, use the Eye of Riven relic to shoot Morgeth. This ends the damage phase temporarily and resets the meter. Start the Taken Strength loop again for a second damage phase.
Morgeth Final Stand: Queens Walk Portal
After enough damage phases, a portal opens in the arena leading to a jumping puzzle in the Ascendant Plane. The entire team goes through. Sprint through the puzzle to reach the final stand arena.
In the Queens Walk arena, Taken Strength orbs spawn again. Every player must collect exactly two. Once all six players have collected two Taken Strength each, kill Morgeth. The Amassed Strength wipe timer continues running during this phase — this catches many teams off guard. Do not slow down. Collect, position, and burst the boss as fast as possible.
Morgeth Symbol Callouts (Riven’s Realm)
When a player is freed by the Eye of Riven relic, they get teleported to Riven’s realm — a separate space where they can see symbols on the walls. The correct symbols to interact with are the ones not present in the normal arena behind Morgeth. The players remaining in the normal arena must call out the symbols visible behind Morgeth so that the players in Riven’s realm know which ones to ignore and which ones to pick up.
This cross-realm callout is the highest-communication moment in the fight. Pre-assign a callout leader before the encounter starts so only one voice is reading symbols. Two voices calling different symbols at the same time is how teams fail this step.
Morgeth Surpassing Rewards
Completing Morgeth Surpassing awards loot from a dedicated Pantheon 2.0 reward pool. This is not a recycled raid drop table — the rewards here are Pantheon-specific.
- Tier 5 armor from the Morgeth Surpassing armor set for your class
- Spoils of Conquest — the volume increases on Custom difficulty with all Feats active
- Alone as a God — a Pantheon 2.0 exclusive Kinetic Sniper Rifle, available from the encounter chest
- Bane of Sorrow — a Pantheon 2.0 exclusive Void Heavy Machine Gun
- Old raid armor ornaments — Morgeth Surpassing has a chance to drop ornaments from the original King’s Fall, Garden of Salvation, and Last Wish raid armor sets for players who never unlocked them
- Triumph progress toward the Godsbane title and MMXXVI Moments of Triumph seal
The final chest at the end of Morgeth also allows weapon re-rolls using Spoils of Conquest. If a weapon dropped with a bad perk combination, spend Spoils at the chest to roll it again rather than waiting for another drop.
Morgeth Surpassing Loadout Tips
Each encounter rewards different weapon choices.
For Warpriest, you need anti-Unstoppable coverage for the Ogres that spawn at Power thresholds. Bring at least two players with a weapon or artifact perk that stuns Unstoppable Champions. Ad clear matters here — the faster you clear adds in the totem rooms, the more Deathsinger’s Power you build per rotation.
For Consecrated Mind, bring long-range DPS for the damage phase. The boss positions at the far relay when vulnerable. Sniper rifles, linear fusion rifles, and rocket launchers all perform well. At least two players should be running Enlightened-tether-friendly builds — mobility and survivability matter more than raw damage here.
For Morgeth, back-crit focus rewards weapons with high precision damage. Sniper rifles and linear fusion rifles again perform well in the DPS window. Make sure at least two players per side have fast-firing weapons for quick ad kills to generate Eye of Riven spawns during the Taken Strength loop.
If you want the fastest possible Spoils of Conquest farm from Morgeth without running the full activity, the Morgeth solo Titan bubble yeet glitch lets you skip the encounter entirely as a Void Titan — full rewards, no mechanics required, as long as the exploit is still active before the patch. Pair your Spoils with Tier 5 crafted weapon upgrades at the Enclave to maximise your endgame loadout using the currency you earn here. For the full Pantheon 2.0 context and how Morgeth Surpassing fits into the larger activity, see the Calus Resplendent guide and check the Immortal Title guide for which Pantheon Triumphs count toward the seal.
