Destiny 2: How to Get the Immortal Title

The Immortal Title is the last title ever added to Destiny 2, introduced in the Monument of Triumph update (June 9, 2026).
You need to complete 12 of 17 Triumphs to earn it. You can skip any 5 — choose whichever categories suit your playstyle.
The title itself is permanent with no expiry. Only the Bungie Rewards physical shirt has a deadline: complete the title by September 30, 2026 to be eligible. Verify the exact cutoff on the Bungie Store — dates differ slightly between official sources.
Once you earn the Immortal Title, you also unlock access to purchase the Immortal Legend Armor Ornament Set from Tenet of Bravery in the Tower Courtyard.
The Worlds: Distortions category (6 Triumphs) is one of the most accessible — completing Case File Collectors and Strange Caches across destinations all count.
Before touching any content, log in and claim 50 free Legendary Marks, 2 Bright Engrams, and the Toast to the Monument emblem from the Special Deliveries kiosk between Banshee-44 and Master Rahool in the Tower.
To claim the title after completing 12 Triumphs, go to the Journey tab in your character menu and select Titles.

Destiny 2 Immortal Title is the final prestige cosmetic in the game’s nine-year live-service history. It is earned through Monument of Triumph — Destiny 2’s last ever update, released June 9, 2026. What Is the Immortal Title in Destiny 2?

The Immortal Title is a cosmetic title displayed next to your Guardian’s name in social spaces, fireteams, and activity lobbies. It signals to other players that you completed Monument of Triumph’s core Triumph checklist during the game’s final chapter.

There are 17 Triumph categories for the Immortal Title. You need to complete any 12 of them. Five categories can be skipped entirely — you choose which ones based on the content you prefer or want to avoid. Each Triumph category has a set number of individual Triumphs required within it.

The title is permanent once earned. Monument of Triumph content has no expiry date. Only the physical Bungie Rewards shirt tied to the title has a deadline.

Immortal Title Deadline: The Shirt and What It Means

Players who earn the Immortal Title by September 30, 2026 are eligible to purchase the Monument of Triumph shirt from the Bungie Store. The purchase window runs through October 2026.

If you only want the in-game title and the Immortal Legend Armor Ornament Set, there is no deadline. Complete it at any pace that works for you.

Before You Start: First Login Actions

If you have not logged in since Monument of Triumph launched on June 9, 2026, do this first before playing any content:

Log in to Destiny 2. You automatically receive 50 Legendary Marks, 2 Bright Engrams, and the Toast to the Monument emblem for logging in during the Monument of Triumph window.
Go to the Tower. Find the Special Deliveries kiosk between Banshee-44 and Master Rahool and claim those items.
Make your first purchase from Tenet of Bravery in the Tower Courtyard — even a cheap 2-Mark engram counts. This unlocks the other three Tenet vendors (Devotion, Sacrifice, Providence).
If you own all Destiny 2 expansions through the years, check eligibility for the Old Lights emblem and Elemental Qi emote from the same kiosk.

Easiest 12 Triumphs to Complete First

These 12 categories are generally the most accessible regardless of your gear, time investment, or fireteam availability. Pick from them based on your playstyle.

Worlds: Vistas (8 Triumphs)

Scenic spots across all destinations. These are zero-combat collectibles — just travel to a location, interact, and move on. All spots are marked with a waypoint once you look them up on the map. Eight Triumphs required. This is one of the fastest categories to finish, and you can do all eight in a single session with a Sparrow.

The eight easiest Vistas Triumphs: inspect the Monument of Triumph in the Tower Courtyard; scenic spot in Mothyards, Cosmodrome; scenic spot in Exodus Black area, Nessus; scenic spot in The Strand, Dreaming City; scenic spot in Dark Forest, EDZ; scenic spot in Asterion Abyss, Europa; scenic spot in Archer’s Line, Moon; and one of the Rendezvous NPC visits that count toward Vistas.

Worlds: Treasure Hunting (8 Triumphs)

Collectibles, raid chests, and world exploration tasks. Most require no fireteam. The standout options:

Mara’s Cipher — Enter Last Wish solo and activate any wish at the Wishing Wall. Takes about 10 minutes solo.
Hidden Treasures — Open 3 hidden chests in any raid or dungeon. Vow of the Disciple has a hidden chest early in the run and is accessible solo.
Pale Heart Navigator — Complete a Pathfinder journey in the Pale Heart directory. Mostly just killing enemies with different weapon types.
My Preciousssss — Complete any full collectible set (Starcats in the Dreaming City, Jade Rabbits on the Moon, etc.).

Worlds: Distortions (6 Triumphs)

This category is built around Distortion Destination activities. Six Triumphs required, all accessible to solo players. The most efficient Triumphs to target:

Stories: The Tower (7 Triumphs)

Tower-based activities and interactions. Many are simple one-time interactions or vendor purchases. The easiest include inspecting the Monument itself, speaking with vendors about Monument of Triumph, and completing simple Tower tasks that can be done between sessions.

Stories: Allies (8 Triumphs)

NPC visits and narrative interactions across the Solar System. This category includes the Sortie Send-Off Triumph (seven NPC Rendezvous visits) and the Me and You, Big Blue Triumph (which also unlocks both of Destiny 2’s secret final cutscenes). Combat: Targets (10 Triumphs)

Kills and enemy-type encounters. Most of these complete passively while running other content — patrol zones and playlist activities contribute to nearly all of them. Ten Triumphs required, but they stack up naturally during normal play.

Combat: Armaments (5 Triumphs)

Weapon-type usage challenges. Only 5 Triumphs required. Use different weapon archetypes, get kills with Exotics, and complete specific weapon challenges while running any activity.

Teamwork: Strikes and Battlegrounds (6 Triumphs)

Complete Vanguard Ops strikes and Battlegrounds. These are matchmade and require no dedicated fireteam. Six Triumphs needed. Running Vanguard Ops naturally while farming Strange Coins or ritual catalysts will complete this category in the background.

Teamwork: Dungeon Challenges (6 Triumphs)

Complete encounters and challenges inside dungeons. Six Triumphs required. Dungeons like Shattered Throne and Pit of Heresy are soloable with moderate gear. Use Fireteam Finder (accessible from the roster screen) if you need a group.

Competitions: PvP (8 Triumphs)

Crucible match completions and performance objectives. Eight Triumphs required. Most progress on win or loss — you do not need to exclusively win matches. Useful if you are already running Crucible for Strange Coins or the Adrenal Rush armor set.

Competitions: Gambit (3 Triumphs)

The smallest requirement of any category: just 3 Triumphs. Complete Gambit matches, bank Motes, and summon a Primeval. These three objectives can be achieved in a handful of matches. This is the quickest competition category to finish if you want an easy 1-of-12.

Competitions: SRL (9 Triumphs)

Sparrow Racing League returned permanently with Monument of Triumph. Nine Triumphs required. SRL is matchmade, fully accessible, and fun for returning players. If you enjoy SRL, this is an easy category to grind through naturally — race completions contribute to most of the nine Triumphs.

The 5 Categories You Can Skip

You need 12 of 17. That means you can skip any five. The categories that tend to require the most dedicated effort or specific playstyles are:

Worlds: Patrol (13 Triumphs) — High count, broad requirements across many destination activities.
Stories: Campaigns (13 Triumphs) — Requires completing campaign missions, which needs owning the relevant expansions.
Stories: The Nine (9 Triumphs) — Xur-related and Eternity content that may not appeal to all players.
Combat: Exotic Missions (8 Triumphs) — Requires completing multiple Exotic missions, some of which need specific unlock steps.
Teamwork: Raid Challenges (8 Triumphs) — Needs a capable fireteam and knowledge of specific raid encounter mechanics. High effort, but strong for dedicated raiders.

Skip the ones that do not suit your playstyle and build your 12 from what you enjoy or can complete most efficiently.

Immortal Title Rewards: What You Get

Earning the Immortal Title gives you:

The Immortal Title — displayed next to your name in-game, permanently.
Access to the Immortal Legend Armor Ornament Set — a full ornament set purchasable from Tenet of Bravery in the Tower Courtyard using Legendary Marks. The title must be earned first before this appears for purchase.
Eligibility for the Monument of Triumph Shirt — a physical Bungie Rewards item, purchasable through the Bungie Store if completed by September 30, 2026.

How to Claim the Immortal Title

Once you have completed 12 of the 17 Triumph categories:

Open your character menu.
Select the Journey tab.
Go to Titles.
Find the Immortal Title and claim it.
Equip it from the same screen to display it next to your name in-game.
