Destiny 2: All New Catalysts

Monument of Triumph (Update 9.7.0, June 9, 2026) added catalysts to every Exotic weapon that previously lacked one — a total of 26 new catalysts tracked post-launch.
Nine older stat-only catalysts were also reworked with real perks. If you already masterworked those weapons, the upgrade applies the moment you log in.
There are two drop paths: 18 ritual pool catalysts from Vanguard Ops, Crucible, Gambit, and Exotic Orders — and 8 raid/dungeon catalysts from final boss drops in their original activity.
No deadline. Monument of Triumph content is permanent. You can chase every catalyst at your own pace.

The Turncoat catalyst unlocks at Triumphant Rewards Pass rank 90. The Fafnir catalyst unlocks at approximately 700 weapon kills.

Destiny 2 new catalysts in the Monument of Triumph update complete the Exotic sandbox for the last time. Bungie announced 25 new catalysts before launch, but post-launch community tracking confirmed 26 weapons with new additions, plus 9 reworked older catalysts that previously only gave stat bonuses. This guide covers every perk, every drop source, and which ones are worth chasing first.

How the New Catalysts Work in Monument of Triumph

Every Exotic weapon in Destiny 2 now has a catalyst. This is the final state of every Exotic you own. Bungie is not adding more after this update.

Two things are important to know before farming:

Where the weapon originally came from decides where its catalyst drops. Raid and dungeon Exotic catalysts drop from the final boss of their original activity. Everything else drops from ritual playlists and Exotic Orders.
The sandbox update raised the value of these catalysts. Exotic primaries now deal roughly 40% more damage against minor enemies. Anti-Champion effects are now frame-intrinsic on Exotics — no seasonal artifact dependency. Catalysts that looked mediocre in previous seasons are genuinely stronger now.

Bungie originally announced 25 new catalysts. Post-launch community tracking lists 26 weapons with new catalysts. This guide covers all confirmed post-launch entries.

How to Get the New Catalysts: Two Drop Paths

Ritual Activity Catalysts (18 Weapons)

These catalysts drop from Vanguard Ops, Crucible, Gambit, and Exotic Orders at the Seasonal Hub. They arrive passively while you play. You do not need to farm them specifically — just keep running ritual content and spend Exotic Orders on names you still need.

Raid and Dungeon Catalysts (8 Weapons)

These catalysts drop from the final boss of each weapon’s original raid or dungeon. They are random drops and require full clears to be eligible. Plan these around the weekly featured raid or dungeon rotation. When one of these activities is featured, that week is your window to farm its final boss repeatedly instead of doing six separate full clears.

New Exotic Catalysts (Fafnir and Turncoat)

The two new Exotics added in Monument of Triumph have separate catalyst unlock paths:

Turncoat catalyst: Unlocks at rank 90 of the Triumphant Rewards Pass.
Fafnir catalyst: Kill-count reward at approximately 700 kills with the weapon.

All New Ritual Activity Catalysts (18 Weapons)

These 18 catalysts drop from Vanguard Ops, Crucible, Gambit completions, and Exotic Orders. Use the Collections tab to track which ones you are still missing.

Anarchy

Catalyst perk — Jolting Feedback: Continuous damage with this weapon inflicts Jolt on targets. While amplified, Jolt applies faster. Restores Anarchy’s set-and-forget boss damage identity. One of the best new ritual catalysts to chase.

Bastion

Catalyst perk — Cast No Shadows: Dealing melee damage increases this weapon’s handling and loads a small amount of ammo from reserves. Pairs with aggressive close-range play styles.

Deterministic Chaos

Catalyst perk — Target Lock: Sustained fire on a single target ramps up weapon damage. Strong for extended boss damage phases.

Devil’s Ruin

Catalyst perk — Collective Action: Collecting an Elemental pickup or destroying a Tangle grants stacking increased damage. The next shot after collecting triggers the buff.

Edge of Action

Catalyst perk — Repulsor Brace: Defeating a Void-debuffed target grants a Void overshield. Useful for Void Warlock builds running the Edge of Action Glaive.

Edge of Concurrence

Catalyst perk — Eddy Current: Sprinting or being amplified boosts reload speed and handling. Pairs well with Arc builds that maintain the Amplified buff.

Edge of Intent

Catalyst perk — Heal Clip: Reloading shortly after a final blow grants Cure to you and nearby allies. Makes Edge of Intent a solid support Glaive for fireteam content.

Khvostov 7G-0X

Catalyst perk — Attrition Orbs: Dealing sustained damage creates an Orb of Power. Khvostov already benefits from the 40% primary damage buff to minors. Attrition Orbs turns it into an Orb factory for ability-heavy builds.

The Last Word

Catalyst perks — Killing Wind + Envious Assassin: Final blows grant increased mobility, range, and handling. Defeating targets with other weapons before drawing The Last Word transfers ammo from reserves and can overflow the magazine. One of the best ritual catalyst pickups for PvP players and mobile PvE builds.

Microcosm

Catalyst perks — Thresh + Stopping Power: Kills grant Super energy. Kinetic rounds stagger targets more easily. Practical upgrade for the already hard-hitting Microcosm trace rifle.

Parasite

Catalyst perk — Envious Arsenal: Dealing damage with both other equipped weapons reloads the Parasite launcher from reserves. Removes the need to manually reload between worm shots in DPS windows.

Still Hunt

Catalyst perk — Lucky Shot: Reloading after a precision final blow causes precision hits to refill one round from reserves. Keeps the sniper rifle cycling faster during high-precision content.

Tarrabah

Catalyst perk — Ambitious Assassin: Rapid kills overflow the next magazine beyond normal capacity. Stacks well with Ravenous Beast, Tarrabah’s base perk that rewards sustained combat.

The Chaperone

Catalyst perk — Triple Tap: Rapidly landing precision hits returns one round to the magazine. Keeps the slug shotgun topped up during accurate plays.

The Lament

Catalyst perk — Burning Ambition: Continuous sword strikes apply Scorch, stacking faster on already-Scorched targets. Turns The Lament into a Solar melee build enabler.

Truth

Catalyst perk — Reaper’s Tithe: Multikills queue a damage buff that triggers on your next shot. Rewards aggressive clearing before a big rocket shot.

Wavesplitter

Catalyst perks — Detonator Beam + Attrition Orbs: Sustained laser fire causes target explosions and drops Orbs of Power. Two perks on one catalyst makes this a strong pickup for Void builds running Wavesplitter.

Winterbite

Catalyst perk — Rimestealer: Shattering Stasis crystals or killing frozen targets grants Frost Armor. Pairs directly with Winterbite’s freeze-and-shatter playstyle.

All Raid and Dungeon Exotic Catalysts (8 Weapons)

These 8 catalysts are random drops from the final boss of each weapon’s original activity. There is no weekly lockout on boss kills for catalyst purposes — you can farm the final boss encounter as many times as your fireteam can clear it in a session.

Collective Obligation — Vow of the Disciple

Catalyst perk — Repulsor Brace: Defeating a Void-debuffed target grants a Void overshield. Requires the Vow of the Disciple final boss. The weapon already applies multiple Void debuffs — this makes it self-sustaining for survivability.

Conditional Finality — Root of Nightmares

Catalyst perks — Heal Clip + Rimestealer: Reloading after a final blow cures you and nearby allies. Destroying a Stasis crystal or killing a frozen target grants Frost Armor. Two perks on Destiny 2’s strongest shotgun. The top catalyst to chase in this update. Requires the Root of Nightmares final boss.

Divinity — Garden of Salvation

Catalyst perks — Jolting Feedback + Focused Fury: Repeated damage inflicts Jolt. While amplified, Jolt applies faster. Dealing half a magazine worth of precision hits grants bonus weapon damage. Two perks on the best support debuff weapon in the game. High priority for raid fireteams. Requires the Garden of Salvation final boss.

Euphony — Salvation’s Edge

Catalyst perk — Enlightened Action: Dealing damage improves reload speed and handling. Requires the Salvation’s Edge final boss.

Eyes of Tomorrow — Deep Stone Crypt

Catalyst perks — Demolitionist + Blast Distributor: Kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Distributing the rocket’s payload between multiple targets increases total damage output. Requires the Deep Stone Crypt final boss.

One Thousand Voices — Last Wish

Catalyst perk — Fall from Grace: Each beam detonation releases seeking Taken energy that Blights nearby targets. Adds Taken-themed burst damage to an already hard-hitting fusion rifle. Requires the Last Wish final boss.

Wish-Ender — Shattered Throne

Catalyst perk — One for All: Hitting three separate targets increases damage for a moderate duration. Requires a full Shattered Throne dungeon clear to reach the final boss.

Xenophage — Pit of Heresy

Catalyst perks — Rampage + Chain Reaction: Rapid kills stack weapon damage. Final blows cause targets to explode. Two perks on Xenophage create a stacking explosion loop. Strong pick for ad-clear in endgame content. Requires the Pit of Heresy dungeon final boss.

All 9 Reworked Stat-Only Catalysts

These nine Exotics already had catalysts, but those catalysts only granted stat bonuses. Monument of Triumph added a real perk to each one. If you already masterworked any of these weapons before June 2026, the perk upgrade is automatic. No re-farming required. Log in and the perk is active.

Borealis — Shield Disorient: Shooting through an enemy shield disorients that enemy and nearby combatants.
Coldheart — Supercharged Magazine: Increases magazine size and charge rate while sustained beam damage is active.
Crimson — To the Pain: Taking damage below a health threshold increases weapon handling and reload speed temporarily.
Hard Light — Light Touch: While this weapon is equipped, taking damage increases handling and aim assist until the weapon is stowed.
Merciless — Heal Clip: Reloading shortly after a final blow grants Cure to you and nearby allies.
The Prospector — Danger Zone: Grenades fired into the air deal significantly increased damage on detonation.
Riskrunner — Chain Reaction: Final blows with this weapon cause targets to explode. The strongest reworked catalyst of the nine. Stacks with Riskrunner’s arc chain system for multi-enemy explosions.
Skyburner’s Oath — Incandescent + Burning Ambition: Final blows spread Scorch to nearby targets. Continuous sword-style melee hits apply Scorch that stacks faster on already-Scorched targets. Two perks on a Cabal scout rifle that now has a real Solar identity.
Sunshot — Loose Change: Rapidly defeating enemies with Sunshot or Sun Blast explosions briefly increases weapon reload speed and handling across all equipped weapons.

The standout is Riskrunner. It already cleared rooms with arc chains. Chain Reaction adds explosions to that loop. If you have a masterworked Riskrunner, you got a free upgrade the moment you logged in after patch 9.7.0.

Skyburner’s Oath with Incandescent is the other one to test early if you run Solar builds. It now fits Solar ad-clear roles that it previously could not fill.

Other Catalyst Changes in Monument of Triumph

Several existing catalysts also received adjustments beyond the nine reworks listed above:

Touch of Malice — the catalyst swaps Rapid Hit for Precision Instrument and adds a final-round damage buff.
Fate of All Fools — reworked stacking system. The catalyst’s special reload now grants a bonus-damage micro-missile round.
Hierarchy of Needs — catalyst gains hip-fire accuracy. Seekers now track precision-damaged targets.
Vex Mythoclast — Calculated Balance catalyst now also activates from sustained damage, not just kills.

Best New Catalysts to Farm First in 2026

You cannot chase 35 catalysts at once. Start with these based on perk impact against farming cost.

Conditional Finality — Heal Clip + Rimestealer on the best shotgun in the game. Top priority. Farm Root of Nightmares final boss.
Divinity — Jolting Feedback + Focused Fury on the best support debuff weapon in the game. Essential for raid DPS teams. Farm Garden of Salvation final boss.
One Thousand Voices — Fall from Grace adds seeking Taken Blights to every detonation. Farm Last Wish final boss.
Xenophage — Rampage + Chain Reaction turns it into a stacking explosion machine. Farm Pit of Heresy final boss.
Anarchy — Jolting Feedback restores its boss damage identity. Drops from ritual playlists passively.
The Last Word — Killing Wind + Envious Assassin with overflowed magazines. Drops from ritual playlists. Best-in-slot for PvP use.

After these, let the remaining 12 ritual catalysts drop passively while you run Distortions, Triumphs, and playlist content. There is no deadline. Farm the endgame ones on featured rotation weeks and spend Exotic Orders targeting specific missing names.

How to Track Missing Catalysts In-Game

Open the Collections screen from your character menu. Select the Patterns & Catalysts tab on the right. Then open the Exotic Catalysts section — the fourth tab. Every missing catalyst shows its exact drop source. Use this before farming so you never run the wrong activity.

Equip newly dropped catalysts immediately so masterwork kill progress accumulates passively during your normal session without costing extra time.
