Destiny 2: All EDZ Case File Locations (EDZ Case File Collector Triumph)

Destiny 2 EDZ Case File locations — all 7 spots across every EDZ zone, how the Distortion requirement works, and the fastest route to complete it.

Destiny 2: All EDZ Case File Locations

  • There are 7 EDZ Case Files to collect in Destiny 2. Finding all of them completes the EDZ Case File Collector Triumph and rewards 15 Legendary Marks.
  • The Triumph is found under Monument of Triumph > Worlds > Distortions in your Triumphs menu.
  • Case Files only appear when the EDZ is the active Distortion Destination. Check your destination map — if the EDZ does not have the Distortion icon, wait for the rotation. Distortions rotate roughly hourly.
  • Case Files do not glow and are not marked on the map. You must look for interactable objects in specific spots.
  • Once collected, each Case File is permanently unlocked account-wide. You only need to collect each one once across all characters.
  • The EDZ spans seven named zones: Trostland, Outskirts, Winding Cove, Firebase Hades, The Gulch, Sunken Isles, and The Sludge. Each zone contains one Case File.
  • Firebase Hades has no fast travel point. You must ride or run in from a neighbouring zone.

Destiny 2 EDZ Case File locations are spread across all seven major zones of the European Dead Zone. The EDZ Case File Collector Triumph was added in the Monument of Triumph update (June 9, 2026) as part of the Worlds: Distortions Triumph category. This guide covers every location with clear directions and the fastest route to knock them all out in one session.

What Are Case Files in Destiny 2?

Case Files are interactable collectible objects hidden across patrol destinations in the Monument of Triumph update. They are small data logs tied to lore and the ongoing Syndicate investigation storyline. To collect one, walk up to it and hold the interact button.

They are part of the broader Case File Collector Triumph series. There are Case File Collectors for every major destination — Cosmodrome, EDZ, Nessus, Europa, Moon, Dreaming City, and Throne World — each worth 15 Legendary Marks when completed.

Legendary Marks are the primary currency for Monument of Triumph vendor rewards. They are earned from Triumphs and used to purchase armor ornament sets, cosmetics, and other rewards from the four Tenet vendors in the Tower Courtyard.

The Distortion Requirement: What You Need to Know Before Farming

EDZ Case Files only spawn when the EDZ is the active Distortion Destination. If you travel to the EDZ and the objects are not where this guide says they should be, the EDZ is not currently distorted. The files will not appear at all until the rotation changes.

Check your destination map before heading out. The active Distortion Destination is marked with a Distortion icon on the map. Distortions cycle roughly every hour. If the EDZ is not active, check back later or complete Case Files on another destination in the meantime.

Once you have collected a Case File during an active Distortion window, that file is permanently saved to your account. You do not need to collect it again on future Distortion rotations.

Fastest Route to Collect All 7 EDZ Case Files

The most efficient single-session order uses fast travel points to minimise backtracking across the EDZ’s large map. Firebase Hades has no fast travel — plan to ride in from Sunken Isles or The Gulch.

Recommended order: Trostland → Outskirts → Winding Cove → Firebase Hades → The Gulch → Sunken Isles → The Sludge.

All 7 EDZ Case File Locations

1. Trostland

Trostland
Trostland

Fast travel to Trostland. From the landing zone, head toward the church where Devrim Kay is stationed. Look to the left of the church. There is a building with Fallen enemies inside. Enter the building. The Case File is sitting on a desk in the corner of the room.

2. Outskirts

Outskirts
Outskirts

From Trostland, head east to reach the Outskirts. You are looking for a rusted truck parked near a cliff. The truck is on the eastern side of the zone. Look inside the driver’s seat of the truck — the Case File is sitting there. If the truck cab is facing you, check the driver’s side door opening.

3. Winding Cove

Winding Cove
Winding Cove

Fast travel to Winding Cove. From the landing zone, head north into the forest. Follow the path until you reach the wreckage of a destroyed ship. Do not go around it. Instead, look for an entrance underneath the ship’s hull and enter through it. Inside is a short cave that curves upward. Follow it all the way through to reach the top of the cliff above. The Case File is on the cliff edge at the top of the cave exit.

4. Firebase Hades

Firebase Hades
Firebase Hades

Firebase Hades has no fast travel point. From Winding Cove, head northwest on your Sparrow to enter Firebase Hades. Once inside the Cabal base, look for a small open Cabal door on the west side of the area. It is a low doorway built into the structure, not one of the large main entrances. Enter through it. The Case File is inside the room behind that door.

5. The Gulch

The Gulch
The Gulch

Fast travel to The Gulch. From the landing zone, follow the road heading west. Stay on the road. In the middle of the road, look for a rusted car overgrown with plants. The vegetation makes it blend in. Once you find it, crouch and look underneath the car. The Case File is tucked under the vehicle’s chassis.

6. Sunken Isles

Sunken Isles
Sunken Isles

Fast travel to Sunken Isles. From the landing zone, head west toward the large Cabal ship in the area. You are looking for the Echion Hold section of the ship — this is the main body of the vessel on the western side of the zone. Find the dome-like structure on the ship’s hull. The Case File is inside the dome. The entrance to the dome is on the side facing the open area.

7. The Sludge

The Sludge
The Sludge

Fast travel to The Sludge. From the landing zone, look immediately to your left. There is a collapsed building — a wrecked structure that has partially fallen in on itself. The building has rubble and broken sections you can climb. Climb the ruins using the debris as platforms and work your way up. The Case File is in a corner near the top of the ruined structure, partially hidden by the collapsed walls. Check every corner at the top before assuming you have missed it.

What to Do If a Case File Is Not Where the Guide Says

If you arrive at a location and the Case File is not there, one of two things has happened:

  • The EDZ is no longer the active Distortion Destination. The Distortion rotation changed while you were mid-run. Return to orbit, check the destination map, and wait for the EDZ to become active again. Your already-collected files are saved.
  • You have already collected that file on this account. Once a Case File is collected, it disappears permanently and does not respawn. If you previously picked it up on another character, it will not be there.

The in-game Triumph tracker under Monument of Triumph > Worlds > Distortions > EDZ Case File Collector shows a numerical count of how many you have collected so far. It does not tell you which zone is missing. Use this guide’s location list to work backward from your count.

EDZ Case File Collector Triumph Reward

Completing all 7 EDZ Case Files awards 15 Legendary Marks. Legendary Marks are the currency used at the four Tenet vendors behind the Monument of Triumph in the Tower Courtyard. They unlock armor ornament sets, cosmetics, and other Monument of Triumph rewards.

The EDZ Case File Collector also counts as one Triumph Completion in the Worlds: Distortions category. This matters if you are working toward the Me and You, Big Blue Triumph — which requires 7 Triumph Completions across different categories to unlock Destiny 2’s secret final cutscenes.
