Destiny 2: All Cosmodrome Case File Locations

There are 6 Cosmodrome Case Files to collect. Finding all of them completes the Cosmodrome Case File Collector Triumph and rewards 15 Legendary Marks.
The Triumph is under Monument of Triumph > Worlds > Distortions in your Triumphs menu.
Case Files only appear when the Cosmodrome is the active Distortion Destination. Check your destination map before traveling. Distortions rotate roughly every hour.
Case Files are not marked on the map. Ghost will not hint at them. You must find each one manually by exploring specific spots.
The Cosmodrome is the fastest full-destination Case File run in Monument of Triumph — just 6 files across a compact, mostly linear map.
The Mothyards contains two Case Files. Most players miss the second one. Both are covered below.
Once collected, Case Files are permanently unlocked account-wide. You never need to collect the same file twice.

Destiny 2 Cosmodrome Case File locations are spread across six of the Cosmodrome’s patrol zones. The Cosmodrome Case File Collector Triumph was added in Monument of Triumph (June 9, 2026) as part of the Worlds: Distortions category. This guide covers every location with step-by-step directions and the fastest route to clear all six in a single session.

Before You Start: The Distortion Requirement

Cosmodrome Case Files only spawn when the Cosmodrome is the active Distortion Destination. If you arrive and the files are not where this guide describes, the Cosmodrome is not currently distorted. The objects will not appear at all until the Distortion rotates to the Cosmodrome.

Open your destination map and look for the Distortion icon over the Cosmodrome before heading in. Distortions cycle roughly every hour. If the Cosmodrome is not active, wait for the rotation or run Case Files on whichever destination currently is active. Your already-collected files are saved permanently — you can pick up where you left off next time the Cosmodrome is distorted.

Fastest Route: All 6 Cosmodrome Case Files in One Run

The Cosmodrome’s layout is mostly linear, running east to west. The most efficient route takes advantage of zone adjacency to avoid doubling back.

Recommended order: The Steppes → The Mothyards (x2) → Forgotten Shore → Skywatch → The Divide.

Fast travel is available for The Steppes and Skywatch. The Mothyards and Forgotten Shore are accessed by riding from The Steppes. The Divide is best reached from Skywatch or The Steppes fast travel and riding north.

1. The Steppes

Fast travel to The Steppes. From the landing zone, head past Shaw Han. Look for a rusted old building just past him on your right. Enter the building and head down the stairs inside. Go through the doors at the bottom. The Case File is sitting near the destroyed computer terminal beneath the stairs. It is low to the ground — crouch if you are having trouble interacting with it.

2. The Mothyards — Case File #1

From The Steppes, ride east into The Mothyards. Head toward the upper area of the zone close to the Lunar Complex entrance. Look for a lone tower standing by the cliff edge. It is a narrow standalone structure separate from the main crashed plane wreckage. The Case File is sitting on the floor at the base of the tower.

3. The Mothyards — Case File #2

Stay in The Mothyards. This second file is easy to miss because players assume the zone only has one. Head toward the right side of the zone, near the corner where the path leads toward Forgotten Shore — just before the large rock formation. You will see a crashed plane nearby. Look for a small garage structure close to the plane wreckage. The Case File is inside the garage. The entrance faces the interior of the zone, not the cliff side.

4. Forgotten Shore

Continue from The Mothyards into Forgotten Shore by riding through the connecting path. Once in Forgotten Shore, look for the abandoned factory on the eastern side of the zone, against the cliffs. The factory is a large multi-storey structure. Climb the factory using the accessible ledges on its exterior. The Case File is inside the upper section of the factory, east of the cliffs. Work your way up the building’s exterior until you find an opening and locate the file on one of the upper floors.

5. Skywatch

Fast travel to Skywatch. From the landing zone, head forward and take a left by the building close to the cliff. The building is the large processing facility in the central area of Skywatch. Look to the right side of the building as you approach it. The Case File is tucked against the wall of the structure on the near side of the cliff-facing building. It sits at ground level — no climbing required for this one.

6. The Divide

From Skywatch, ride north into The Divide. You are looking for a rusted barricade structure on the northeast side of the zone. While riding from The Steppes toward The Divide, watch for a building with its shutters open on the ground floor. Enter through the open shutter. Inside, head toward the back of the room. There is a small metal box near the back wall. The Case File is inside or directly next to the box. If you are entering from the north of The Divide, look for the barricade structure and check its ground level — the file sits behind it, easy to walk past at speed.

What to Do If a Case File Is Not There

Two things can cause a missing Case File:

The Cosmodrome Distortion has rotated out. Distortions cycle hourly. If the Cosmodrome is no longer the active Distortion Destination mid-run, remaining files will not appear. Return to orbit, check the map, and wait for the next rotation. Files already collected in this run are saved permanently.
You already collected it on this account. Once a file is picked up, it disappears and does not respawn. If another character on your account already collected it, it will not be present. Check your Triumph progress count under Monument of Triumph > Worlds > Distortions.

The Triumph tracker shows a numerical count of files collected but does not tell you which zone is missing. Cross-reference your count against the six locations above to identify what is still needed.

Cosmodrome Case File Collector Triumph Reward

Completing all 6 Cosmodrome Case Files awards 15 Legendary Marks. Legendary Marks are spent at the four Tenet vendors behind the Monument of Triumph in the Tower Courtyard — unlocking armor ornament sets, cosmetics, and other Monument of Triumph rewards. Unlock Tenet of Bravery first, as it gates access to the other three vendors.

The Cosmodrome Case File Collector also contributes one Triumph Completion to the Worlds: Distortions category. Combined with other Case File Collectors and Distortion triumphs, this builds toward the 7 Triumph Completions required for the Me and You, Big Blue Triumph — which unlocks Destiny 2’s two secret final cutscenes.
