Destiny 2: All Europa Case File Locations

Destiny 2 Europa Case File locations — all 6 spots across Eventide Ruins, Cadmus Ridge, and Asterion Abyss, with step-by-step directions and the fastest route.

Destiny 2: All Europa Case File Locations

  • There are 6 Europa Case Files to collect. Finding all of them completes the Europa Case File Collector Triumph and rewards 15 Legendary Marks.
  • The Triumph is under Monument of Triumph > Worlds > Distortions in your Triumphs menu.
  • Case Files only appear when Europa is the active Distortion Destination. Check the Director before traveling. Distortions rotate roughly every hour.
  • The 6 files are split evenly across three zones: Eventide Ruins (×2), Cadmus Ridge (×2), and Asterion Abyss (×2). Two files per zone — collect both before moving on.
  • Europa’s terrain is aggressively vertical. Several files require climbing structures, scaling glaciers, or entering buildings from unexpected angles. Blizzards in Asterion Abyss reduce visibility — slow down when the storm rolls in.
  • Charon’s Crossing is Europe’s central fast travel hub. All three zones are accessible from it. Use it as your base between zone runs.
  • Once collected, all files are permanently unlocked account-wide. You never need to find the same file twice.

Destiny 2 Europa Case File locations are spread across three patrol zones on Europa — Eventide Ruins, Cadmus Ridge, and Asterion Abyss. Each zone holds two files. The Europa Case File Collector Triumph was added in Monument of Triumph (June 9, 2026) as part of the Worlds: Distortions Triumph category. This guide covers every location with step-by-step directions and the most efficient route to clear all six in one Distortion window.

Before You Start: The Distortion Requirement

Europa Case Files only spawn when Europa is the active Distortion Destination. Open the Director and confirm Europa is highlighted with the Distortion icon before you travel there. If it is not the active destination, the files will not appear at all.

Distortions cycle roughly every hour. If Europa is not currently active, run Case Files on whichever destination currently is distorted. Your already-collected Europa files are saved permanently — return during the next Europa Distortion to collect anything you missed.

With a Sparrow and the route below, all 6 Europa files can be collected comfortably within a single one-hour Distortion window.

Europa Map Overview: Zones and Fast Travel

Europa has three fast travel landing zones: Charon’s Crossing (central hub, where Variks is), Eventide Ruins (north, third landing zone available after completing the Beyond Light campaign), and Beyond (south). All three Case File zones are reachable from Charon’s Crossing.

  • Eventide Ruins — north of Charon’s Crossing. Has a dedicated fast travel point.
  • Cadmus Ridge — west of Charon’s Crossing. Ride west from the Charon’s Crossing landing zone.
  • Asterion Abyss — east of Charon’s Crossing. Ride east from the Charon’s Crossing landing zone.

Fastest Route: All 6 Europa Case Files in One Run

Recommended order: Eventide Ruins (×2) → Cadmus Ridge (×2) → Asterion Abyss (×2).

Fast travel to Eventide Ruins first, collect both files, then fast travel back to Charon’s Crossing and ride west into Cadmus Ridge. After both Cadmus Ridge files, ride east back through Charon’s Crossing and continue east into Asterion Abyss for the final two.

All 6 Europa Case File Locations

Eventide Ruins — Case File #1

Fast travel to Eventide Ruins. From the landing zone, head toward the cliff to the northeast. You will see a frozen building against the cliffside. Enter the building through its accessible entrance. Inside, find the ledge facing the cliff. The Case File is sitting on that ledge, overlooking the drop outside.

Eventide Ruins — Case File #2

Stay in Eventide Ruins. From the fast travel point, turn left toward the large frozen dome structure in the area. This is a large rounded building partially encased in ice. Enter underneath the dome — do not try to climb on top of it. The entrance is at ground level. Once inside, look in the center of the interior for a shelf. The Case File is on that shelf.

Cadmus Ridge — Case File #1

From Charon’s Crossing, ride west into Cadmus Ridge. Look for the large Vex structure on a snowy hillside on the right side of the zone — it is a tall metallic object standing prominently against the snow. Climb the side of the Vex structure. The Case File is attached to one of the walls near the top of the structure, close to the Concealed Void Lost Sector entrance. Use the Lost Sector marker as your landmark when approaching from the road.

Cadmus Ridge — Case File #2

Remain in Cadmus Ridge. After collecting File #1, get back on your Sparrow and follow the flashing red lights in the zone. Head to the western section of Cadmus Ridge — this is the area just before the path that leads toward Bray Exoscience. Look for a group of structures and installations on that western path. The Case File is hiding behind part of the installation, tucked behind the structures rather than sitting visibly in front of them. Check behind each structure until you find it.

Asterion Abyss — Case File #1

Asterion Abyss 1

From Charon’s Crossing, ride east into Asterion Abyss. Once you enter the zone, follow the path to the left and keep going upward toward the frozen glacier. Climb the glacier. At the top, you will reach a Vex gate structure. Scale the Vex structure. The Case File is on the upper ledge facing east, at the top of the structure. The jump route to scale it works from the south side. Attempting to approach from the north side is difficult — go around to the south.

Note: Asterion Abyss has a dynamic blizzard weather system. If a snowstorm rolls in while you are climbing, visibility drops significantly. Wait it out at ground level or push through slowly — the Vex structure is large enough to remain visible even in heavy snow.

Asterion Abyss — Case File #2

Asterion Abyss 2
Asterion Abyss 2

Stay in Asterion Abyss. After collecting File #1, ride east across the ice path. Continue east and turn left when you reach the cliffs. Ride along the ledge, heading toward the far red lights visible in the distance to the north. The Case File is in the very northern area of Asterion Abyss — on the map, it sits above the letter “y” in “Abyss.” Follow the cliff ledge northward until you reach the file.

What to Do If a Case File Is Not There

  • Europa’s Distortion has rotated out. The rotation changed mid-run. Return to orbit, check the Director, and wait for Europa to become active again. Files already collected this session are saved.
  • You already collected it on this account. Once picked up, a file disappears permanently. Check your Triumph progress counter under Monument of Triumph > Worlds > Distortions > Europa Case File Collector to see your current count.
  • Europa has blizzard weather. If you cannot find a file due to low visibility, wait for the storm to pass. The blizzard is temporary and clears after a minute or two.

The Triumph counter shows how many files you have collected but does not identify which zone is incomplete. Since each zone has exactly two files, if your count is 4, you are missing both files from one zone. Compare your count against the three zones above to narrow it down.

Remember to hold the interact button rather than tap it — Case Files require a held interaction, and enemies can interrupt mid-collect. Clear nearby enemies before interacting where possible.

Europa Case File Collector Triumph Reward

Completing all 6 Europa Case Files awards 15 Legendary Marks. Legendary Marks are spent at the four Tenet vendors behind the Monument of Triumph in the Tower Courtyard. Unlock Tenet of Bravery first — it gates the other three vendors.

The Europa Case File Collector also counts as one Triumph Completion in the Worlds: Distortions category. This contributes toward the Me and You, Big Blue Triumph, which requires 7 Triumph Completions from different categories to unlock Destiny 2’s two secret final cutscenes.
