Fortnite Runners Map and Loot Pool Changes — Full Overview
- The entire Fortnite island was replaced on June 6, 2026. The new map is called Shattered Coast and was created by the Zero Point cracking the previous island apart during the Shattered live event.
- Only two POIs survived from Chapter 7 Season 2: Latte Landing and Wonkeeland. Everything else is new or remixed.
- Eleven brand-new or remixed named locations are on Shattered Coast at launch.
- Four new weapons entered the loot pool: Extending Focus Shotgun, Surgical Burst Rifle, Chaos Exploder Rifle, and Lancehead Pistol.
- Six weapons returned: Striker Pump Shotgun, Maven Auto Shotgun, Ranger Pistol, Stinger SMG, Hunting Rifle, and Chaos Reloader Shotgun.
- New movement items include Seven Sliders at launch, with Shock Rocks arriving later in the season.
- The Bank Shot Pistol, Shock Rocks, and Extraction Site Booster are all confirmed but not yet live — they arrive in future updates this season.
Fortnite Runners map changes in Chapter 7 Season 3 are among the biggest in recent memory. The Shattered Coast is not a tweaked version of the previous island — it is a complete rebuild, with nearly every familiar POI either replaced, remixed, or relocated. If you are trying to get your bearings fast, this guide covers every map change, new location, loot pool addition, and coming-later update in one place.
What Is the Shattered Coast in Fortnite Runners?
The Shattered Coast is the name of the new island that replaced the previous Chapter 7 map following the Shattered live event on June 5, 2026. The Zero Point cracked the island apart and reassembled it into a new layout with new biomes, new geography, and almost entirely new named locations.
Epic describes it as a “fresh map with twisted takes on familiar POIs.” In practice, that means most old locations have been remixed — same name anchor or visual reference, but new layout, new biome, and new strategic value. A small number of entirely original POIs with no prior counterpart also appear for the first time.
The Zero Point sits at the center of the Shattered Coast map. It is a physical location on the island and the lore anchor for the entire season.
All New POIs on the Fortnite Runners Shattered Coast Map
Lifty Lodge — Northwest Snow Biome

Lifty Lodge is a ski resort in the snowy northwestern corner of Shattered Coast. It is heavily inspired by Tiptop Terrace. The POI has a large multi-floor central lodge building surrounded by smaller cabins, ski lifts, and ziplines. The verticality makes it one of the better early-fight locations on the map for aggressive players who want high ground from the start.
Battlewoods — Near the Center

Battlewoods is the remixed version of Battlewood Boulevard. The concrete urban landscape from the previous season has been replaced by a forested town — the Battlewood sign carried over, but the environment around it is now dense woodland with a running river cutting through it. Loot density is solid and the tree cover provides natural rotation paths.
Frosted Flats — Autumnal Biome Near the Zero Point

Frosted Flats sits close to the Zero Point at the center of the map, in an autumnal biome built on the ruins of the Ice King’s fortress. It has ice cream and slush parlors styled around the Ice King, with remnants of Frigid Fortress visible in the terrain. A secret vault is confirmed inside this POI.
Sinister Strip — South of Center, Dark Voyager Territory

Sinister Strip is a merger of Sandy Strip and Dark Dominion from previous seasons. The Dark Voyager took control of the area after the Shattered event and the location has been relocated to just south of the center of the island. A secret vault is hidden here, and it is the home of the Mythic Limitless Seven Sliders — found in a room called the Electric Room inside the POI.
This is one of the highest-risk, highest-reward drops on the map. Expect heavy competition early in the season.
Golden Grove — Far East Coast

Golden Grove is a Seven faction operating base on the far eastern edge of the island. The location is forested with Sanctuary-inspired architecture and contains a secret subterranean level. It is a quieter drop than central POIs, which makes it good for players who want to loot safely before rotating.
Shaken Sanctuary — Tropical Biome

Shaken Sanctuary is the remixed version of New Sanctuary. The surrounding terrain has shifted from desert to a tropical environment similar to the old Chapter 3 Sanctuary area. The buildings have changed and the New Sanctuary Vault from last season is gone. This POI is currently quieter story-wise until The Foundation returns to the plot.
Cluster Coast — Southeast Edge

Cluster Coast is a new city on the southeastern edge of Shattered Coast, built around the Cluster skin from the Runners Battle Pass. The entire POI carries Cluster-themed decorations. It is a good strategic drop for players who want a safer loot route with easy access to coastal water for Water Sprite shield regen. A secret duck vault is hidden here — see the Cluster Coast secret duck vault guide for details.
Sunken Shores — Southernmost Point

Sunken Shores is the remixed version of Squibbly Shores. It received a major overhaul and now sits at the southernmost point of the island. The flooded, coastal aesthetic makes it a distinct biome compared to the rest of the map. The secret aquarium inside Heatwave Harbor is nearby — see the Heatwave Harbor secret aquarium guide for what is hidden there.
Heatwave Harbor — Southwest Corner

Heatwave Harbor is a large industrial city in the southwest corner of Shattered Coast with high-rise buildings and a functioning port. It has enough loot density to gear up a full squad and the lighthouse from last season appears here. The multi-level layout gives squads multiple combat angles, making it one of the better squad drops on the map. The Mythic Striker Pump Shotgun can be unlocked here by completing the Duck Race Minigame nearby.
Calamari Canyon — West Side Desert Biome

Calamari Canyon is built on what used to be Squibbly Shores, now dried into a desert canyon. It sits west of the Zero Point and has seafood-themed structures and decorations. The lighthouse from the previous season appears here as well. Elevation layers throughout the canyon give it a complex layout with multiple combat angles. Good for squads who want desert-zone rotations toward the center.
Chopped Shop — West Side

Chopped Shop is a small auto repair garage and vehicle modification shop on the west side of the map. There is a small race track nearby. It is one of the lower-loot-density POIs on the map — useful for harvesting metal and brick or as a quiet drop when you need to avoid early fights. Not a recommended hot drop.
Latte Landing and Wonkeeland — The Two Survivors

These are the only two POIs that made it from Chapter 7 Season 2 to the Shattered Coast without being fully replaced. Latte Landing retained its position and lost its snow cover. Wonkeeland survived but was relocated from the northwest to the far northeast corner of the island. Both are recognisable to returning players and useful orientation anchors on an otherwise completely new map.
Fortnite Runners Mythic Weapon Locations
Three Mythic weapons are confirmed at Chapter 7 Season 3 launch. Each requires a specific action to unlock.
- Limitless Seven Sliders (Mythic): Found in the Electric Room inside Sinister Strip.
- 9mm Baba Yaga Pistol (Mythic): John Wick’s Mythic pistol. Unlocked by rescuing John Wick’s dog somewhere on the map.
- Mythic Striker Pump Shotgun: Complete the Duck Race Minigame near Heatwave Harbor.
More Mythic weapons are expected to be added as the season progresses and new bosses are introduced.
All New Weapons in the Fortnite Runners Loot Pool
Four new weapons entered the Battle Royale loot pool when Chapter 7 Season 3 launched on June 6, 2026.
Extending Focus Shotgun

A long-range shotgun with a three-round volley mechanic. When you hipfire, it has a faster rate of fire but wider pellet spread. When you aim down sights, the spread tightens and the barrel visually extends, increasing effective range with each consecutive shot. It is a hybrid — not a pure close-range weapon. Best used at mid-range where the ADS tightening gives it an edge other shotguns cannot match.
Surgical Burst Rifle

A burst-fire rifle with low recoil and minimal damage falloff at range. It fills the mid-range rifle role cleanly. Early loadout testing suggests it pairs well with the Chaos Exploder Rifle — burst for distance, explosive for cover pressure. The burst meta returning is a meaningful shift from the Chapter 7 Season 2 meta.
Chaos Exploder Rifle

The Dark Voyager’s heavy assault rifle. It fires explosive cubes that deal both impact damage and area-of-effect splash damage. The splash radius is intentionally small, which keeps it accurate — it rewards precise aim while punishing enemies who bunch together or hide behind thin cover. One of the strongest weapons in the current meta, especially effective in late-game circles where players cluster.
For weapon pairing recommendations and the full meta breakdown, see our Fortnite Runners best meta weapons guide.
Lancehead Pistol

John Wick’s sidearm from the Baba Yaga collab. It has a 21-round magazine and one unique mechanic: when you reload, you can throw the empty magazine at nearby enemies for bonus damage. The throw is not automatic — you have to use it intentionally. At high rarity the pistol is one of the strongest sidearms in the game. Do not swap it for a standard pistol if you find one at Epic or Legendary tier.
Returning Weapons in Fortnite Runners
Six previously vaulted weapons returned to the Battle Royale loot pool with Chapter 7 Season 3.
- Striker Pump Shotgun: Classic close-range pump. Reliable and consistent. Also available as a Mythic from the Duck Race.
- Maven Auto Shotgun: Automatic shotgun for sustained close-range pressure.
- Ranger Pistol: Accurate mid-range pistol. Good secondary option.
- Stinger SMG: Fast-fire SMG for close-range spray. A fan favourite returning from earlier seasons.
- Hunting Rifle: Long-range single-shot rifle. Rewards aim. Useful for picking off targets at distance.
- Chaos Reloader Shotgun: The Dark Voyager’s other weapon. High damage, chaotic fire pattern. Loved and hated in equal measure.
New Movement Items in Fortnite Runners
Seven Sliders (Available Now)
Seven Sliders are the headline movement item of Chapter 7 Season 3. They let you slide faster than running speed. When you aim down sights mid-slide, time slows — giving you a clean shot window without stopping your movement. At the end of the slide, the built-in jets launch you into the air for a vertical boost.
The Limitless Seven Sliders (Mythic version) are found in the Electric Room at Sinister Strip. Standard versions drop from the regular loot pool. Be careful not to overheat them — heavy use degrades durability faster.
Shock Rocks (Coming Later This Season)
Shock Rocks are a later-season movement item. When you crush one, you get three midair leaps — effectively triple-jump capability. They have not gone live yet as of mid-June 2026. Epic confirmed their arrival as part of the season’s planned content rollout.
New Gameplay Items and Extraction Gizmos
Chapter 7 Season 3 introduced a new category of consumable called Extraction Gizmos. These are items specifically designed to make Sprite extraction faster or safer during a match.
- Portable Extractor: Lets you extract a Sprite anywhere on the map instead of at a fixed Extraction Site. Buy it at Extraction Site vendors or earn it from Mastery Quests. This is the most important Gizmo for anyone chasing rare Sprites like the Zero Point.
- Extraction Site Booster (Coming Later): Calls in a special Extraction Crate that boosts any Sprite extracted at the site. It draws attention from other players — use carefully.
Gizmos cannot be dropped or traded. They are lost when you are eliminated. You earn more by completing Bonus Goal quests, spending Sprite Dust, or progressing through Sprite Mastery.
For the safest extraction routes on the new map, see the Fortnite Runners vault locations guide and the Fortnite Runners tips and tricks guide.
Bus Exfil — New Alternate Win Condition Coming Later
Bus Exfil is a new win mechanic confirmed for later in Chapter 7 Season 3. During certain matches, the Battle Bus will rift back into the map mid-game. Teams who reach the Battle Bus and board it before the timer runs out secure a Victory Royale — without needing to be the last squad standing.
Multiple teams can win through Bus Exfil in the same match. This means a single game can have more than one winning squad. It is designed to add a second objective beyond survival, rewarding fast rotation and coordination.
The exact timing for Bus Exfil’s arrival has not been announced. It is a live-service addition coming during the season, not a day-one feature.
Coming Later This Season — Full List of Unannounced Content
Several confirmed items and mechanics were not in the game at Chapter 7 Season 3 launch. Here is everything Epic has confirmed is still on its way:
- Bank Shot Pistol: A pistol that ricochets bullets off surfaces for trick-shot angles around cover. Not yet live.
- Shock Rocks: Triple-jump movement item. Not yet live.
- Extraction Site Booster Gizmo: Crate that boosts a Sprite during extraction. Not yet live.
- Bus Exfil mechanic: Alternate win condition via Battle Bus re-entry. Not yet live.
- Relic Chests: Blue premium chest type. Currently vaulted. Relevant because TheBurntPeanut Sprite drops from them — see the rarest Sprites in Fortnite Runners guide for why this matters.
- Additional bosses and Mythic weapons: Epic confirmed more bosses will be added as the season progresses.
How the New Map Affects Sprite Farming Routes
The Shattered Coast map is built around the Sprite system in ways the previous island was not. Several POIs have specific Sprite-related features baked in.
Sinister Strip, Frosted Flats, and Heatwave Harbor all contain confirmed secret vaults or vault access points. Epic Sprite Vaults hold three guaranteed Sprite Chests each — making vault-dense POIs the most efficient areas to farm rare Sprites per match. For a full breakdown of every vault location and key route, see the Fortnite Runners vault locations guide and the Epic Sprite Vault guide.
Cluster Coast and Sunken Shores are near water biomes, which makes them specifically useful for players running the Water Sprite — shield regen while standing in water is reliable in those areas throughout the match. For a full breakdown of which Sprites to run on the new map, see the best Sprites in Fortnite Runners guide.
Secret loot rooms also exist across several POIs. The Fortnite secret gambling loot room guide covers one of the higher-value hidden rooms on the map, and the best loot path for Sprites guide maps out the most efficient chest routes across the full Shattered Coast.
