TL;DR
- The What a Rush! daily challenge requires you to complete any one of the three Horizon Rush events in Forza Horizon 6.
- The three events are Pier Pressure (Tokyo City docks), Off Piste (Sotoyama ski slopes), and Launch Control (Nangan region, Irokawa Space Centre).
- You do not need 3 stars — just finishing the event within the general time limit is enough to register the challenge.
- Each event provides a specific car — you do not need to bring your own.
- Horizon Rush events unlock through wristband progression: Yellow for Pier Pressure, Blue for Off Piste, Orange for Launch Control.
- If no event is unlocked yet, keep earning Horizon Festival Points through races and activities to progress your wristband tier.
- Reward: 1 Season Point and 5,000 Credits. Challenge expires June 14, 2026.
The What a Rush! daily challenge in Forza Horizon 6 is part of the Series 1 Winter Festival Playlist (Week 3) and catches a lot of players out — not because it is difficult, but because the game does not clearly explain what counts as a Horizon Rush event. Many players complete a Showcase race or a standard Wristband event and wonder why their progress is not registering. This guide explains exactly what Horizon Rush events are, where to find all three, and the fastest way to clear the challenge.

What Is a Horizon Rush Event?
Horizon Rush events are a brand-new event type introduced in Forza Horizon 6. They are timed obstacle course challenges tied to the main campaign’s Wristband progression system. Unlike Showcase Events — which are scripted, theatrical races against unique opponents — Horizon Rush events focus on speed, precision, and obstacle navigation across a purpose-built course at a specific location in Japan.
The key distinction to understand for the daily challenge is this: not all Wristband events are Horizon Rush events. Some Wristband events, like Mech My Day and Flight Club, are Showcase events and do not count. Horizon Rush events are specifically the ones that use a star-based scoring system based on your completion time, awarding up to 3 stars for a fast enough run. If the event prompt on the map says Horizon Rush, it counts. If it says Showcase, it does not.
There are exactly three Horizon Rush events in FH6 at launch. Each one assigns you a specific car for the run — you do not need to bring your own. All three are fully replayable after their first campaign completion, so returning for the daily challenge is instant once you have unlocked them.
All Three Horizon Rush Event Locations
1. Pier Pressure — Tokyo City Docks (Yellow Wristband)

Location: Tokyo City docks area, earned when transitioning from Yellow to Green Wristband.
Assigned car: Ford RS200 Evolution.
3-star time: Sub-4:00 minutes.
One-star time limit: 10 minutes (the completion threshold for the daily challenge).
Pier Pressure is the first Horizon Rush event you encounter in the campaign and the most accessible location for the What a Rush! challenge since it sits in Tokyo City. The course runs through the docks, featuring huge jumps, a snaking route over and through shipping containers (the Container Climb section), rooftop sections, and off-road stretches between the industrial structures. It is compact and contained compared to the other two events, making it the fastest option if you just want to clear the challenge and move on.
The Ford RS200 Evolution is a Group B-era rally car with strong grip and predictable handling. The temptation is to use the handbrake through every tight corner — resist this. Unnecessary slides kill momentum and add time. Use the handbrake only for the tightest hairpins in the Container Climb section. On the four water splash landing zones, enter in 4th gear to prevent bogging down and losing speed. For 3-star pace on the final section leading to the ramp, aim for 132–135 kph at the ramp approach for the correct launch angle through the glass ceiling and into the crane section.
2. Off Piste — Sotoyama Ski Slopes (Blue Wristband)

Location: Sotoyama region, near the ski resort in the northern part of the Japan map, earned when transitioning from Blue to Pink Wristband.
Assigned car: Peugeot 207 Super 2000 (earned as the reward on first completion).
3-star time: Sub-4:15 minutes.
Off Piste takes place on the snowy Sotoyama ski slopes and emphasises winter conditions — icy surfaces, steep elevation changes, mountain ramps, and tight technical sections between ski structures. It is a mountain downhill run with a mix of high-speed descents and controlled slides on snow and ice. The Peugeot 207 Super 2000 is tuned for the terrain, so trust the car’s handling rather than overcorrecting on the descent. The course is longer than Pier Pressure but still manageable at a relaxed pace for completion purposes.
The Sotoyama region is also home to several other events worth completing in the same session. Our best rally and cross-country cars guide is useful if you plan to stay in the area for off-road events after finishing Off Piste.
3. Launch Control — Irokawa Space Centre, Nangan Region (Orange Wristband)

Location: Nangan region, southwest coast of Japan near the Irokawa Space Centre, earned when transitioning from Orange to Purple Wristband.
Assigned car: Subaru WRX STI ARX Supercar (earned as the reward on first completion).
3-star time: Sub-4:15 minutes.
Launch Control is the most dramatic of the three events. The course runs around and through the Irokawa Space Centre — a speed-run layout with long straights, ramps, and the most open terrain of the three events. The Subaru WRX STI ARX Supercar is a fast, capable rally machine well suited to the course. Keep it on the main path through each checkpoint and the event flows cleanly. This is the straightforward choice if you want the most impressive setting, though the Orange Wristband requirement means it is only accessible once you have progressed further into the campaign.
How to Complete the What a Rush! Challenge
Completing the daily challenge is simpler than the confusion around it suggests. Follow these steps:
- Open your map and filter it to show only Wristband events. Identify which of the three Horizon Rush events you have unlocked based on your current wristband tier.
- Fast travel to the nearest discovered road near your chosen event. See our fast travel guide for how the system works in FH6.
- Drive to the event start and confirm the event prompt says Horizon Rush — not Showcase. If it says Showcase, you are at the wrong Wristband event.
- Start the event. The game assigns you a car automatically — no garage selection needed.
- Cross the finish line within the general time limit (10 minutes for Pier Pressure as a reference). You do not need 3 stars, 2 stars, or even 1 star in the traditional sense — basic completion is all the challenge requires.
- The What a Rush! challenge registers automatically once you cross the final checkpoint. Your 1 Season Point and 5,000 Credits are added immediately.
What If I Have Not Unlocked Any Horizon Rush Events Yet?
If none of the three Horizon Rush events appear on your map, you have not yet reached the required Wristband tier to access them. Here is the unlock order:
- Pier Pressure — requires the Yellow Wristband (Horizon Invitational). This is the very first wristband in the game, so most players who have completed the opening sequence already have access.
- Off Piste — requires the Blue Wristband. You earn the Blue Wristband after completing Mech My Day (the Showcase against Chaser Zero).
- Launch Control — requires the Orange Wristband. This is deeper into the campaign, after completing the Flight Club Showcase.
To progress through wristbands, earn Horizon Festival Points by completing races, events, PR Stunts, and activities across Japan. The more events you complete, the faster your point total grows and the sooner the next Wristband Event becomes available. Our wristband progression system guide covers the fastest path through each tier. The how to get XP and level up fast guide has additional tips for stacking points quickly.
Horizon Rush Events vs Showcase Events — How to Tell Them Apart
This is the main source of confusion for the What a Rush! challenge. Both Horizon Rush events and Showcase events are part of the Wristband progression system and appear on the map in the same category. The difference:
- Horizon Rush events — timed obstacle courses with a 1-3 star rating based on completion time. The event prompt on the map clearly labels them as Horizon Rush.
- Showcase events — scripted races against unique opponents (a giant mech, stunt pilots, etc.) with no star-based scoring system. These are Mech My Day, Flight Club, and Horizon Legend. None of these count for the What a Rush! daily challenge.
If you arrive at a Wristband event and the prompt does not say Horizon Rush, drive to one of the three confirmed locations listed in this guide.
Tips for 3-Star Times (Optional)
The daily challenge only requires basic completion, but if you want to push for 3 stars on a future replay, here are the key principles for each event:
- Pier Pressure: Minimise handbrake use. Smooth grip driving is faster than slides. Use handbrake only on the tightest Container Climb hairpins. Hit water landing zones in 4th gear. Approach the final ramp at 132–135 kph for the correct launch angle.
- Off Piste: Commit to the Peugeot 207’s grip rather than fighting it. Avoid overcorrecting on the downhill sections — the car is tuned for the terrain. Use momentum on the descent rather than braking conservatively.
- Launch Control: Follow the main course path and hit every checkpoint cleanly. The Subaru WRX STI ARX Supercar has plenty of pace for 3-star times. The biggest time loss comes from missing checkpoints or going off course on the open space centre layout.
