Genshin Impact Immortal Construct boss guide

The Immortal Construct is one of two world bosses added in Genshin Impact Version 7.0, found in the Everfrozen Earth area of Snezhnograd. It is a bird-shaped construct that deals Pyro and Physical damage, gains a shield mid-fight that heals it when ignored, and carries a single one-shot attack that demands your full attention. The primary reason to farm it is the Unscorched Blossom Branch ascension material, required for Odette and other Snezhnaya characters.

    • Located in Everfrozen Earth, southwest of Snezhnograd near the Central Station
    • Two states: Normal State (Physical damage) and Lifeflare State (Pyro damage + 9 HP shields)
    • In Lifeflare State, any damage the boss deals to your characters heals it — avoid all attacks in this phase
    • Break its shields with any elemental damage; Stellar Glimmer reactions suppress the healing entirely
    • Watch for the one-shot AoE: sprint away the moment you see it charge
    • Primary drop: Unscorched Blossom Branch — ascension material for Odette
    • Costs 40 Original Resin to claim rewards

Immortal Construct Location in Genshin Impact

Immortal Construct Location in Genshin Impact

The Immortal Construct sits in the Everfrozen Earth area of Snezhnograd, right next to the Central Station. To reach it, drop into the cavern near Central Station and head north. Follow the sloping path downward and you will hit the boss room.

The Immortal Construct can be found within a cavern southwest of the city of Snezhnograd and can be reached by using the nearby teleport waypoint or by foot from the Central Station. If you have unlocked the train through the Snezhnaya main story, you can also ride to Rankova Zorya, then travel north to the boss entrance from there. A teleport waypoint sits just outside the entrance, so after your first clear, returning for farming runs takes seconds.

    Immortal Construct Boss Overview

The Immortal Construct is a bio-alchemy creation described by the Fandom wiki as a nigh-immortal life form that burns its own life to enter the Lifeflare state, in which it gains several HP shields at one time. Any damage dealt by it while in this state will restore its HP.

The fight runs across two distinct states. In the Normal State, it will deal Physical damage and have limited attacks. The second state is its Lifeflare State, where it will reduce some of its own HP to generate 9 small shields. In the Lifeflare State, it deals Pyro damage, and you want to avoid all attacks in that state. Getting hit by them will heal the Immortal Construct.

The key mechanic to understand is that Stellar Glimmer reactions shut down the healing entirely. The Immortal Construct will be unable to recover any HP when affected by Stellar Glimmer reactions, no matter what it does. This makes Stellar Conduct and Stellar Swirl teams the most efficient option — they turn the boss’s signature mechanic off rather than playing around it.

Immortal Construct Attacks and How to Dodge Them

    Normal State Attacks

Single Slash: A quick single slash that doesn’t do serious damage and is easy to strafe and dodge. Keep moving and it will miss.

3-Consecutive Slashes: Immortal Construct deals 3 consecutive slash attacks, with the last one having a larger AoE and covering more area in a circle. Sidestep the first two hits, then sprint back further for the wider third swing.

Forward Dash Attack: Immortal Construct will backstep and dash forward towards you to deal serious Physical damage. It is slow enough that you can often react to it. Sprint sideways as it begins the dash to clear the line of travel.

    Lifeflare State: Shield Generation

Immortal Construct will burn some of its own HP to generate 9 small shields, similar to the Geo Gecko from Nod-Krai. This shield does not have a specific element requirement, so you only need good damage. Break the shields as fast as possible — the quicker you collapse them, the less time the boss spends in the healing phase. With well-built Stellar Glimmer teams, you can begin damaging the shields as they generate and potentially skip the Lifeflare phase entirely.

In the Lifeflare State, the boss’s slashes deal Pyro damage instead of Physical. Do not let any of these attacks connect — each hit restores the boss’s HP. Stay mobile and focus all damage on the shields.

    The One-Shot Attack (Scorching Radiance)

This is the most important attack in the fight to know. When the number of HP-restoring shields goes below a certain number, or after Lifeflare lasts for a set time, the Immortal Construct will attempt to unleash Scorching Radiance. To stop it, you must break all of its HP shields.

When the Immortal Construct has 2 shields left, or when enough time has passed, it will charge itself up to deal a massive burst of Pyro damage, which is enough to defeat your character in one shot. The tell is visible — the boss charges up before firing. The moment you see the animation begin, sprint out of range and wait for it to finish. There is no surviving this attack by tanking it; distance is the only counter.

Breaking all remaining shields before the charge completes will cancel Scorching Radiance mid-animation. This is both the safest and fastest way to handle it — burst down the last shields the moment the charge begins rather than retreating and waiting.

    Attack Summary

    • Single Slash (Normal): Low damage, easy to sidestep
    • 3-Consecutive Slashes (Normal / Lifeflare): Sprint away from the third hit’s wider AoE; deals Pyro in Lifeflare and heals the boss if it connects
    • Forward Dash (Normal): Backstep followed by a rush forward — sprint sideways to avoid
    • Shield Generation (Lifeflare): 9 small shields appear; break all of them to end the phase
    • Scorching Radiance (Lifeflare): Triggered at 2 shields or after time expires — one-shots any character; sprint out or break remaining shields to cancel

Best Teams to Beat Immortal Construct

The best teams to defeat the Immortal Construct in Genshin Impact will revolve around Stellar Glimmer reactions. Similar to the Chimeric Winged Lion boss, this enemy is also weak to the Stellar Glimmer reaction. The difference here is that Stellar Glimmer does not just deal bonus damage — it actively disables the boss’s core healing mechanic, making it by far the highest-value approach. For context on how the Chimeric Winged Lion fight compares, see the Chimeric Winged Lion boss guide.

    Best Team: Stellar Conduct

Stellar Conduct is the strongest option for the Immortal Construct. Sandrone handles main DPS, Yae Miko provides consistent Electro application, Odette covers Cryo off-field and Stellar Glimmer buffing, and Alyosha provides both Electro support and healing.

    • Sandrone (main DPS), Odette (Cryo sub-DPS / buffer), Yae Miko (Electro sub-DPS), Alyosha (healer / support)

Alyosha doubles as a healer, which matters a lot in this fight. The Immortal Construct deals enough damage that passive healing often isn’t enough, especially if you take a hit from the dash or Lifeflare slashes. If you do not have Sandrone, Cyno or Wriothesley work as main DPS alternatives in the same team structure. For full details on building Odette and Alyosha for this composition, see the Odette best build guide and Alyosha best build guide.

    Alternative: Stellar Swirl

A Stellar Swirl team works well here and applies the same reaction-based healing suppression. Yumemizuki Mizuki leads this composition with Odette as the Cryo enabler, Faruzan for Anemo damage amplification, and Qiqi as healer.

    • Yumemizuki Mizuki (main DPS), Odette (Cryo sub-DPS), Faruzan (Anemo support), Qiqi (healer)

Stellar Swirl applies slightly less shield-break pressure than Stellar Conduct, but Faruzan’s Anemo buffs and Qiqi’s healing make this a reliable and comfortable option for most rosters.

    Free-to-Play Team

If you lack Linchpin characters like Sandrone and Odette, you can use the Cryo Traveler, who can also enable the Stellar Glimmer reactions. Cryo Traveler, Alyosha, Sucrose, and Diona cover all mechanics and provide the Stellar reactions needed to suppress the boss’s healing.

    Standard Teams (Without Stellar Glimmer)

The Immortal Construct can be defeated without Stellar Glimmer reactions — the healing suppression is simply unavailable, which makes the Lifeflare phase more demanding. Strong Cryo teams (Ayaka, Ganyu, Shenhe, Diona) or Pyro teams (Mavuika, Citlali, Bennett, Escoffier) with good DPS can break the shields quickly enough to minimise healing windows. Shields and strong healers like Bennett or Baizhu help absorb the increased chip damage from Lifeflare hits when playing without Stellar reactions. The boss can also be tackled in Co-Op Mode if your solo roster is not yet strong enough.

Immortal Construct Strategy (Step by Step)

    1. Open aggressively: The Normal State attacks are predictable and low-threat. Dodge the 3-hit combo’s final wide swing and the dash by sprinting sideways, and deal as much damage as possible before the Lifeflare State triggers.
    2. Respond immediately to Lifeflare: The moment the boss begins generating its 9 shields, focus all elemental damage on them. Stellar Glimmer reactions are fastest, but any elemental output works. The goal is to collapse the shields before the boss can execute many Lifeflare attacks.
    3. Avoid all hits in Lifeflare: Every Pyro slash that connects heals the boss. Stay mobile throughout the phase and do not attempt to tank hits, even with shields or healers active.
    4. Watch for Scorching Radiance: At 2 shields remaining or after enough time passes, the boss charges its one-shot. Sprint out of range or burst down the last two shields to cancel it mid-charge.
    5. Repeat and end the fight: The cycle returns to Normal State after Lifeflare ends. Continue dealing damage and repeat the pattern. With Stellar Glimmer active throughout, the boss deals no net healing during Lifeflare, making the fight a straightforward DPS check.

    Immortal Construct Achievements

There are two achievements tied to the Immortal Construct, one of which is hidden.

Immortality Severed: Defeat the Immortal Construct in Co-Op Mode. Rewards 10 Primogems. Queue up with another player or invite a friend — Co-Op clears count regardless of who deals the killing blow.

Hold… Hold… Now! (Hidden): Interrupt the Immortal Construct’s Scorching Radiance attack by breaking its HP Shield while it is in the Lifeflare State. To earn this, let the boss reach its one-shot charge, then break the remaining shields before Scorching Radiance fires. Do not sprint out of range — hold your ground and burst the last shields to cancel the attack mid-charge.

    Immortal Construct Drops and Rewards

The Immortal Construct’s primary drop is the Unscorched Blossom Branch, the boss ascension material required for Odette and other Snezhnaya characters. Every other drop is a bonus. Artifact rewards include pieces from Gladiator’s Finale, Wanderer’s Troupe, Berserker, Instructor, and Prayers for Illumination sets, covering a range of team types and making early farming runs useful for artifact grinding alongside material collection.

Claiming the Trounce Blossom after defeating the boss costs 40 Original Resin. The teleport waypoint directly outside the boss cavern makes return trips fast — set it as a saved destination for efficient daily resin spending once you begin farming Unscorched Blossom Branches.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the Immortal Construct in Genshin Impact?

The Immortal Construct is located in the Everfrozen Earth area of Snezhnograd in Snezhnaya, southwest of the city inside a cavern near the Central Station. Head north from the cavern entrance and follow the sloping path down to the boss room. A teleport waypoint sits directly outside.

How do you stop the Immortal Construct from healing?

The Immortal Construct heals from any damage it deals to your characters while in the Lifeflare State. Triggering Stellar Glimmer reactions — either Stellar Conduct or Stellar Swirl — completely suppresses the healing mechanic regardless of what the boss does. Without Stellar reactions, avoid all Lifeflare attacks and break the shields as fast as possible to limit healing windows.

How do you break the Immortal Construct’s shields?

The 9 HP shields in the Lifeflare State have no specific elemental requirement — any elemental damage works. Stellar Glimmer reactions break them fastest and simultaneously prevent the boss from healing. Strong teams can begin damaging shields as they generate and skip the full Lifeflare phase entirely.

How do you dodge the Immortal Construct’s one-shot attack?

Sprint away as far as possible the moment you see the Scorching Radiance charge animation begin. Alternatively, break all remaining HP shields before the charge completes to cancel the attack mid-animation. The second option is faster and also earns the hidden “Hold… Hold… Now!” achievement.

What does the Immortal Construct drop in Genshin Impact?

The Immortal Construct’s primary drop is the Unscorched Blossom Branch, the key ascension material for Odette and other Snezhnaya characters. It also drops Agnidus Agate gemstones and artifacts from the Gladiator’s Finale, Wanderer’s Troupe, Berserker, Instructor, and Prayers for Illumination sets. Rewards cost 40 Original Resin to claim.

What is the best team for the Immortal Construct?

A Stellar Conduct team of Sandrone, Odette, Yae Miko, and Alyosha is the strongest option, with Stellar Conduct reactions shutting down the boss’s healing entirely. A Stellar Swirl team of Yumemizuki Mizuki, Odette, Faruzan, and Qiqi is a strong alternative. Free-to-play players can use Cryo Traveler, Alyosha, Sucrose, and Diona to cover all the same mechanics.
