The Immortal Construct is a Normal Boss added in Genshin Impact Version 7.0, located inside a cavern in the Everfrozen Earth area of Snezhnograd, Snezhnaya. It is a bird-shaped bio-alchemy construct that deals Pyro and Physical damage, enters a self-healing Lifeflare State mid-fight, and unleashes a one-shot attack if its shields are not broken in time. The primary ascension material it drops — the Unscorched Blossom Branch — is required to ascend Odette.

Immortal Construct Overview
The Immortal Construct is a nigh-immortal life form created through bio-alchemy. It is described as a product of bio-alchemy and one of the flawed artificial monsters cast aside in pursuit of a certain grand ambition. Its design reflects that origin — a large avian construct that combines high physical aggression with a unique self-sustaining healing mechanic that sets it apart from most Genshin world bosses.
Unlike the Chimeric Winged Lion, which cycles through distinct elemental phases requiring specific elemental counters, the Immortal Construct’s core challenge is its Lifeflare State — a phase where it gains shields and heals from any damage it deals. Stellar Glimmer reactions are the intended counter, but the boss can be defeated without them at the cost of a more demanding mechanical execution. For a full step-by-step defeat guide, see how to beat the Immortal Construct in Genshin Impact.
Immortal Construct Location
The Immortal Construct boss is located right next to the Central Station of Snezhnograd, in Everfrozen Earth. This boss can be easily reached by jumping down the cavern near the Central Station and then going north. Eventually, players will find a sloping path towards the boss room. A teleport waypoint sits just outside the entrance and is available from your first visit, making every return trip for farming runs fast.
You can travel to Rankova Zorya and use the station to call your train. Set the course to Snezhnograd, and once you are near the boss, you can exit the train and glide to the ravine below. Interacting with the Statue of Seven in Snezhnograd will mark the boss’s location on your overworld map automatically.
Immortal Construct Mechanics
Normal State
The fight opens in the Normal State. The Immortal Construct deals Physical damage and runs a limited attack kit. It is aggressive from the moment combat begins but its moveset at this stage is straightforward — slashes, a dash, and a wider AoE on the third consecutive hit. There is no elemental requirement to deal damage in Normal State; standard DPS applies normally.
Lifeflare State
The Immortal Construct burns its life to enter the Lifeflare State, in which it gains several HP shields at one time. Any damage dealt by it while in this state will restore its HP. The Lifeflare State is triggered when the boss drops below a certain HP threshold during the fight. Upon entering it, 9 small HP shields appear beneath the boss’s health bar. All attacks in this state deal Pyro damage rather than Physical.
The critical rule during Lifeflare: avoid every single hit. Each attack that connects heals the boss. This includes the consecutive slashes, the forward dash, and the wing slam. Shields and high HP are not a substitute for dodging — the healing scales with the damage dealt, not the damage taken after mitigation.
To prevent the healing from occurring, you must deal Stellar Glimmer DMG to negate the mechanic altogether. The Immortal Construct will be unable to recover any HP when affected by Stellar Glimmer reactions, no matter what it does. This makes Stellar Conduct and Stellar Swirl teams the most efficient approach — they turn off the healing entirely rather than requiring perfect dodge execution throughout the phase.
Scorching Radiance (One-Shot Attack)
When the number of HP-restoring shields goes below a certain number or after Lifeflare lasts for a set time, the Immortal Construct will attempt to unleash Scorching Radiance. To stop it, you must break all of its HP shields. Scorching Radiance is a massive Pyro AoE explosion that deals enough damage to one-shot virtually any character regardless of build. It has a visible charge-up animation before firing.
There are two ways to handle it: sprint out of range the moment the charge begins, or burst down all remaining shields before the animation completes to cancel the attack entirely. The second option is faster and also unlocks the hidden boss achievement. With a strong Stellar Glimmer team, the shields collapse quickly enough that Scorching Radiance can be cancelled almost every time it is attempted.
A useful cheese exists for players with high-damage teams: while the boss is generating its shields, you can start dealing damage immediately and affect the shields as they appear. With decent to strong teams, you can completely avoid the Lifeflare State by taking the shields down as soon as they are generated.
Immortal Construct All Attacks
Normal State Attacks
- Single Slash: One quick melee strike. Low damage, easy to sidestep with any directional dodge.
- 3-Consecutive Slashes: Three slash attacks in sequence. The final hit has a larger AoE radius covering more of the surrounding area in a circle. Sidestep the first two and sprint back for the third.
- Forward Dash: The boss backsteps and rushes straight forward, dealing serious Physical damage. It is slow enough to react to — sprint sideways out of the charge line as it begins.
Lifeflare State Attacks
- Pyro Single Slash: Same animation as the Normal State single slash but now deals Pyro damage. Any hit heals the boss — avoid.
- Pyro 3-Consecutive Slashes: Same pattern as Normal State but with Pyro damage on all three hits. The wide AoE on the third hit is especially dangerous in this state as it heals if it connects.
- Forward Dash (Physical): The forward dash does not convert to Pyro in Lifeflare State and still deals Physical damage. It does not trigger healing, but the damage remains serious.
- Scorching Radiance: Triggered at 2 shields remaining or after the time limit expires. Massive Pyro AoE that one-shots most characters. Break remaining shields or sprint to max range to survive.
Immortal Construct Best Teams
Stellar Glimmer is the highest-value approach because it eliminates the boss’s healing mechanic entirely. Similar to the Chimeric Winged Lion boss, this enemy is also weak to the Stellar Glimmer reaction. Stellar Conduct is the stronger of the two options here due to the sustained Electro application enabling consistent reaction uptime throughout the Lifeflare phase.
Stellar Conduct (Recommended)
- Sandrone (main DPS), Odette (Cryo sub-DPS / buffer), Yae Miko (Electro sub-DPS), Alyosha (healer / support)
This is the optimal team for the Immortal Construct. Alyosha is particularly valuable here as his healing covers the chip damage risk from Lifeflare hits in the event of a missed dodge, and his Electro application contributes to Polestar Field stacking alongside Yae Miko. Cyno or Wriothesley can replace Sandrone as the main DPS. For full build details, see the Odette best build guide and Alyosha best build guide.
Stellar Swirl
- Yumemizuki Mizuki (main DPS), Odette (Cryo sub-DPS), Faruzan (Anemo support), Qiqi (healer)
Stellar Swirl applies the same healing suppression as Stellar Conduct and performs well here. Faruzan’s Anemo damage buffs keep DPS competitive, and Qiqi’s sustained healing provides a comfortable safety net for surviving any Lifeflare hits. For the team compositions powering both reaction archetypes, see the best Stellar-Conduct teams guide.
Free-to-Play
- Cryo Traveler (Stellar enabler), Alyosha (healer / support), Sucrose (Anemo / EM buffer), Diona (secondary Cryo / shield)
If you lack Linchpin characters like Sandrone and Odette, you can use the Cryo Traveler, who can also enable the Stellar Glimmer reactions. This team covers the healing suppression mechanic and provides enough sustain to handle the fight’s damage output at moderate investment levels.
Immortal Construct Drops and Rewards
Claiming the Trounce Blossom after defeating the Immortal Construct costs 40 Original Resin and offers the following rewards.
Primary ascension material: The Immortal Construct drops the Unscorched Blossom Branch, which is Odette’s needed field boss material for their ascension. Only one character uses the Unscorched Blossom Branch for ascension, and it is obtained exclusively from the Immortal Construct at level 30+.
Gemstones: Agnidus Agate (Sliver, Fragment, Chunk, Gemstone) — used for ascending Pyro characters.
Artifacts: Pieces from Gladiator’s Finale, Wanderer’s Troupe, Berserker, Instructor, and Prayers for Illumination sets, across 3-star to 5-star rarities. Early farming runs double effectively as artifact grinding given the range of sets available from this boss.
Immortal Construct Achievements
Two achievements are tied to the Immortal Construct, and one is hidden until completed.
Immortality Severed — Defeat the Immortal Construct in Co-Op Mode. Rewards 10 Primogems. Any clear in Co-Op counts regardless of who lands the killing blow. Queue up through the Co-Op menu or invite a friend directly.
Hold… Hold… Now! (Hidden) — Interrupt the Immortal Construct’s Scorching Radiance attack by breaking all of its HP shields while it is in the Lifeflare State. To trigger this, allow the boss to reach the 2-shield threshold and begin charging Scorching Radiance, then burst down the remaining shields before the explosion fires. Do not sprint away — the achievement requires cancelling the attack mid-charge, not surviving it from range. A well-built Stellar Conduct team can reliably set this up on demand.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the Immortal Construct in Genshin Impact?
The Immortal Construct is found in Everfrozen Earth, southwest of Snezhnograd in Snezhnaya, inside a cavern next to the Central Station. Drop into the cavern, head north, and follow the sloping path to the boss room. A teleport waypoint sits outside the entrance.
What is the Immortal Construct’s Lifeflare State?
The Lifeflare State is triggered when the Immortal Construct drops to a low HP threshold. It generates 9 HP shields and converts its attacks to Pyro damage. Any hit it lands on your characters heals it for the damage dealt. Breaking all shields ends the phase. Stellar Glimmer reactions suppress the healing entirely, making them the recommended approach.
How do you stop the Immortal Construct from healing in Genshin Impact?
Trigger Stellar Glimmer reactions — either Stellar Conduct (Cryo + Electro) or Stellar Swirl (Cryo + Anemo). When the boss is affected by either reaction, its healing mechanic is completely disabled no matter what attacks it lands. Without Stellar reactions, you must avoid every hit during Lifeflare manually.
What does the Immortal Construct drop?
The Immortal Construct’s primary drop is the Unscorched Blossom Branch, the ascension material required for Odette. It also drops Agnidus Agate gemstones and artifacts from the Gladiator’s Finale, Wanderer’s Troupe, Berserker, Instructor, and Prayers for Illumination sets. Rewards cost 40 Original Resin.
How do you get the hidden Immortal Construct achievement?
The hidden “Hold… Hold… Now!” achievement is earned by cancelling the Immortal Construct’s Scorching Radiance attack mid-charge by breaking all remaining HP shields during the Lifeflare phase. Let the boss reach 2 shields and begin the charge, then burst them down before the explosion fires. Do not retreat — the attack must be interrupted, not survived from range.
What characters are best against the Immortal Construct?
Stellar Conduct teams led by Sandrone with Odette, Yae Miko, and Alyosha are the strongest option. Stellar Swirl teams built around Yumemizuki Mizuki and Odette are a reliable alternative. Free-to-play players can use Cryo Traveler, Alyosha, Sucrose, and Diona to cover all the fight’s mechanics.
