Odette Best Build In Genshin Impact

    By Mark Smith · August 13, 2026 · Updated October 18, 2026 · 17 min read
    odette best synergy

Odette best build in Genshin Impact centers on one clear priority: stack as much ATK as possible while maintaining strong CRIT ratios, because her entire kit scales from ATK — her personal damage, her team buff, and the reaction damage increase she grants to every character around her. Odette is the 5-star Cryo Sword character from Version 7.0 and the premier Stellar Glimmer support. Getting her build right does not require a signature weapon. Her core value comes from her off-field Cryo application and her passive buffs, and solid 4-star weapons and the right artifact set are enough to make her a top-tier support in any Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl team.

This guide covers everything — stats, weapons, artifacts, talent priority, and constellations. For the best teams to run with her, see our Odette best teams guide. For the free Electro support that pairs with her in almost every lineup, see our Alyosha best build guide. And for the reaction systems her build feeds into, check our Stellar Glimmer reaction guide.

TL;DR — Odette Best Build Quick Summary

    • Role: Off-field Cryo sub-DPS, Stellar Linchpin enabler, and team buffer for Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl
    • Best weapon: Whitelake Frostfeather (signature) — CRIT Rate substat, ATK stacking passive, +50% Stellar Glimmer CRIT DMG at 3 stacks, Energy restoration. Note: not on the current 7.1 weapon banner
    • Best alternative 5-star: Primordial Jade Cutter — CRIT Rate substat, strong ATK scaling. Azurelight’s 0-Energy condition is rarely met on her standard build
    • Best F2P weapon: Emberwell (craftable) — Elemental Mastery + ATK bonus on Stellar Glimmer reactions
    • Best 4-star budget pick: Finale of the Deep (craftable) — significant ATK boost from both passive and substat
    • Best artifact set: 4-piece Heart of the Furnace — ATK boost for Odette + team-wide Stellar Glimmer DMG buff
    • Stat priority: ATK% → CRIT Rate → CRIT DMG → Elemental Mastery → Energy Recharge
    • Artifact main stats: ATK% Sands / ATK% Goblet / CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG Circlet. Never use a Cryo DMG Goblet — her damage is reaction-based and Cryo DMG Bonus does not apply
    • ATK targets: 2,000 ATK caps her team-facing passive (Dance of Aurore). 3,000 ATK caps her personal damage passive (A4). Build toward 2,000 first; above that, extra ATK only boosts her own output
    • Talent priority: Elemental Skill first, Elemental Burst second, Normal Attack last. Before C4, consider skipping the Burst in rotations entirely
    • Best constellation: C2 for the 20% RES shred and ATK scaling — prioritize this over C1

    Odette Version 7.1 Update

Version 7.1 (A Rekviem for the Underworld, September 23, 2026) included one gameplay-relevant bug fix for Odette and two cosmetic ones:

    • Stellar Swirl damage bug fix (gameplay impact): Version 7.1 fixed an issue where “DMG dealt by the Stellar Swirl reaction could occasionally fail to include Cryo characters involved in the reaction in its calculations.” Odette is the Cryo character in Stellar Swirl — her conversion passive is the reason the reaction exists in her teams. This fix directly increases her effective Stellar Swirl contribution. Any Odette damage figures from before September 23 systematically understate her output in Stellar Swirl teams. If guides or community calculations you have seen date from the 7.0 window, treat those Stellar Swirl numbers as conservative.
    • Cosmetic fixes: The waist sash on Odette’s outfit no longer clips abnormally during Normal Attacks or climbing, and her skirt no longer clips during idle animations on the Character screen. No gameplay effect.

There were no kit changes, stat adjustments, or constellation modifications in 7.1. Odette’s build, rotation, and team recommendations are otherwise identical to Version 7.0. The two new 7.1 characters — Vesna (5-star Anemo) and Vodyanitsa (5-star Hydro Catalyst) — are Stellar Swirl characters who work well alongside Odette in Vesna teams, but do not change how you build Odette herself.

One note on the 7.1 weapon banner: it features Azurelight and Symphonist of Scents, not Odette’s signature Whitelake Frostfeather. Azurelight has a CRIT Rate substat and high ATK, but its better passive — +40% CRIT DMG — activates only while the wielder has 0 Energy. Odette’s optimal build skips her Burst (see Talent Priority below), which means she never drains her Energy and the condition is almost never met on a standard rotation. Azurelight is effectively just a stat stick on Odette unless you are running her at C4 or above with Burst casts. Primordial Jade Cutter remains the stronger non-signature 5-star sword alternative for most builds.

    Odette Build Overview

Odette plays as an off-field sub-DPS and Stellar Linchpin support. Her core loop is short: use Elemental Skill to summon the Solo Dance Double, cast the duet follow-up when available, then swap off and let the Double apply Cryo from the background for the rest of the rotation. Her Burst is secondary — it costs only 60 Energy and refreshes the Double, but most of her value comes from the Skill and Double rather than requiring frequent Burst use. Before C4, casting her Burst extends her on-field time without enough payoff, and most high-level players skip it in standard rotations.

The reason ATK is so important is her two scaling passives. Her Dance of Aurore passive (team-facing) increases Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl base damage by 0.7% per 100 ATK — up to a 14% team-wide reaction damage increase. This caps at 2,000 ATK. Her A4 passive (personal) additionally increases her own Stellar Glimmer damage by 1.5% per 100 ATK above 1,000, up to 30% — this caps at 3,000 ATK. The key decision: below 2,000 ATK, every ATK point does two jobs (team buff and personal damage). Above 2,000, extra ATK only helps Odette’s own hits. If she is primarily a support enabler, stop at 2,000 and prioritize CRIT from that point. Both passives reward the same stat, making the build direction very consistent regardless of which threshold you are targeting.

    Odette Stat Priority

Odette’s stat priority is ATK first, CRIT second. Unlike most supports, she is not building Energy Recharge as a primary stat — her Burst cost is low enough that she can cast it when available without heavy ER stacking, and before C4, skipping her Burst is the stronger play in most rotations.

    • ATK% (top priority): Directly scales her personal damage, the Dance Double’s periodic Cryo hits, and both of her passives. Her team-facing passive caps at 2,000 ATK — beyond that, additional ATK only improves her own direct hits. For a pure support role, hit 2,000 ATK and then stack CRIT. For a more damage-contributing Odette, push toward 3,000 where her personal A4 passive maxes out.
    • CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG: Odette’s Stellar Glimmer reaction damage and personal hits can CRIT. Maintain a healthy ratio — aim for around 60–70% CRIT Rate and 120–140%+ CRIT DMG. Her signature weapon and Primordial Jade Cutter both have CRIT Rate substats that make this easier to hit. Her Ascension stat is already CRIT DMG 38.4% at maximum ascension, so a CRIT Rate circlet typically balances her ratio better than adding more CRIT DMG.
    • Elemental Mastery: A secondary priority, especially in Stellar Swirl teams where the Vortex damage scales with EM. More EM amplifies the Stellar Vortex’s detonation. Not worth chasing over ATK and CRIT, but valuable as a substat bonus.
    • Energy Recharge: Low priority for most builds. Her Burst cost of 60 is manageable without heavy stacking, and her signature weapon’s passive restores Energy during Stellar Glimmer reaction triggers. Before C4, skipping the Burst in rotations is recommended — in which case ER investment has little value at all. In teams without dedicated Cryo or Electro batteries and where you do want to Burst, a light amount of ER substats (around 110–130%) is enough.

    Artifact Main Stats

    • Sands: ATK%
    • Goblet: ATK% — never Cryo DMG Bonus. Odette’s damage output is reaction damage, and Cryo DMG Bonus does not apply to Stellar Glimmer reaction hits. A Cryo Goblet is a dead main stat on her.
    • Circlet: CRIT Rate (if under 60%) or CRIT DMG (if already at a good ratio). Since her Ascension gives CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate circlets usually balance the ratio better.

    Substat Priority

CRIT Rate → CRIT DMG → ATK% → flat ATK → Elemental Mastery → Energy Recharge

Note: If using Whitelake Frostfeather or Primordial Jade Cutter, their CRIT Rate substats already push you toward the ratio target, which lets you focus substat rolls on CRIT DMG and ATK% instead.

    Best Weapons For Odette

Whitelake Frostfeather — Best In Slot (Signature)

Whitelake Frostfeather is Odette’s signature 5-star Sword, released alongside her in Version 7.0 Phase 1. At Level 90 it has 674 Base ATK and a 22.1% CRIT Rate substat — the highest CRIT Rate of any sword in the game, covering a large portion of her ratio target from the weapon alone. Note: this weapon is not on the Version 7.1 weapon banner. The current banner (Phase 2) features Azurelight and Symphonist of Scents.

Its passive, Snow Swan’s Finale, builds stacks whenever her Elemental Skill hits an enemy. Each stack grants 8% ATK for 8 seconds (separate duration per stack), triggering up to once every 0.1 seconds and stacking up to three times. At three stacks, the CRIT DMG of her Stellar Glimmer reaction damage increases by 50%, and triggering Stellar reactions or dealing their damage restores 4 Elemental Energy — working even while Odette is off-field. This is a meaningful passive for an off-field character since the Dance Double keeps hitting enemies every few seconds, maintaining stacks without any active input.

That said, the signature weapon’s advantage over top alternatives is primarily in personal damage rather than team contribution. Odette’s support value — her enabling, buffs, and off-field Cryo — functions equally well on most builds. If you are choosing between her signature weapon and her C2, C2 delivers the 20% RES shred and significant ATK stacking that the weapon cannot replicate, making it the stronger team-wide investment for most accounts.

Azurelight — 7.1 Weapon Banner Option (Caveats Apply)

Azurelight is featured on the Version 7.1 weapon banner alongside Symphonist of Scents. It has a CRIT Rate substat and high Base ATK. However, its stronger passive — +40% CRIT DMG — activates only while the wielder has 0 Elemental Energy. On Odette’s standard build, the Burst is skipped before C4, meaning her Energy never fully drains, so this condition is rarely met. Azurelight functions as a stat stick on her in most scenarios — the CRIT Rate substat and ATK are useful, but it underperforms the signature and is roughly comparable to other strong CRIT swords. Do not pull Azurelight specifically for Odette; it is a better fit for characters who regularly empty their Energy bar.

Primordial Jade Cutter — Best Non-Signature Alternative

Primordial Jade Cutter offers CRIT Rate as its substat and a passive that grants ATK% based on the wielder’s max HP. A familiar option for many players who have previously pulled it for other sword users. The CRIT Rate and ATK scaling align well with Odette’s priorities, and it functions as the strongest stat stick available for her if you already own it. This is now the recommended best non-signature 5-star for most accounts over Azurelight in Version 7.1 rotations.

    Emberwell — Best Craftable / Best F2P

Emberwell is a 4-star craftable sword introduced in Version 7.0 alongside the Snezhnaya weapon crafting system. It has an Elemental Mastery substat and a passive that grants an ATK bonus when Stellar Glimmer reactions are triggered. For Odette, this means the passive activates frequently during her rotation and consistently during the Dance Double’s off-field Cryo hits. Emberwell is the top recommendation for players who cannot access 5-star swords, covering both ATK and EM — useful in Stellar Swirl teams in particular where Vortex detonation damage scales with EM.

Finale Of The Deep — Reliable F2P Craftable

Finale of the Deep is a 4-star craftable sword from Version 4.0 that provides a significant ATK boost from both its substat and its passive. It is one of the most accessible strong options for Odette and outperforms most other 4-star swords on her due to the double ATK scaling. A solid choice if you have it refined and do not yet have Emberwell.

    Freedom-Sworn — Elemental Mastery Option

Freedom-Sworn is a 5-star Sword with an Elemental Mastery substat and a team-wide ATK% and Normal Attack DMG bonus when the wielder triggers reactions. In Stellar Swirl teams where Odette’s Dance Double frequently triggers Swirls, this weapon’s passive fires regularly and the team ATK buff stacks on top of Alyosha’s ATK buff for a meaningful combined bonus. A good option if you own it and are playing Stellar Swirl.

    Best Artifact Sets For Odette

4-Piece Heart Of The Furnace — Best Overall

Heart of the Furnace is Odette’s best artifact set in Version 7.0 and remains the top pick through 7.1 for most builds. The two-piece bonus gives her an 18% ATK increase, directly feeding her passive scaling. The four-piece bonus grants a 12% ATK increase for 12 seconds whenever the wearer triggers a Stellar Glimmer reaction or deals Stellar Glimmer reaction damage — and since Odette or her Dance Double triggers these reactions constantly, the bonus is essentially permanent during combat.

The four-piece also buffs the entire team’s Stellar Glimmer damage by a percentage that stacks on top of Odette’s own passive buff. This team-wide amplification is the core reason to run the set on Odette rather than using a more personal-damage-focused option. Note that the Heart of the Furnace four-piece bonus does not stack from multiple wearers — if Alyosha is already running it in your team, swap Odette to a different set.

When Heart Of The Furnace Is Taken By A Teammate

If another character in your team is already using Heart of the Furnace, Odette can instead run:

    • 4-piece Disenchantment in Deep Shadow: The preferred alternative for personal damage when a teammate holds Heart of the Furnace. This set amplifies her direct Stellar reaction hits and is the top option if you want to maximize Odette’s own output rather than team buffing.
    • 2-piece ATK% + 2-piece ATK%: Two sets that each provide 18% ATK, for a combined 36% ATK bonus. A consistent option that is available to everyone and requires no specific new farming.
    • 2-piece Heart of the Furnace + 2-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence / Gladiator: Half the team Stellar buff from the two-piece, plus additional ATK from the second set. Works well as a transition set while farming for a full four-piece.
    • 4-piece Noblesse Oblige: If running a team where nobody else has Noblesse, the four-piece grants the whole team +20% ATK after Odette’s Burst. Her Burst cooldown is low enough to keep this active consistently — though note that before C4, the Burst may not be worth casting at all, which limits Noblesse uptime.

    Odette Talent Priority

Odette’s talent leveling order mirrors her gameplay priority — the Skill is where almost all her off-field damage, Cryo application, and enablement comes from:

    • Elemental Skill (Adagio: Phantom Night Dancers) — Level first: This is Odette’s most important talent. The Skill summons the Solo Dance Double, triggers the duet when re-cast, and produces the Stellar reaction hit that applies her buffs. All her off-field damage flows through this talent.
    • Elemental Burst (Presto: Bluebird Finale) — Level second: The Burst deals AoE Cryo damage, refreshes or summons the Dance Double, and grants Snow Swan’s Dream (50% Stellar Glimmer DMG bonus for 20 seconds). Upgrading it increases its personal damage and extends its usefulness in rotations where she uses it regularly. Before C4, consider skipping her Burst in standard rotations — the animation extends her on-field time without enough damage or buff payoff to justify it. At C4 and above, the Burst shares her Snow Swan’s Dream buff with the whole party, which earns the field time.
    • Normal Attack — Level last: Odette almost never normal attacks in standard rotations. This talent can stay at level 1 without any practical impact on her support output.

    Odette Constellation Guide

Odette’s constellations are exceptionally strong, particularly in the early nodes. She functions well at C0, but C1 and C2 have significant impact on her team contribution. Based on community analysis post-7.0, C2 is now considered the higher priority over C1 for most accounts due to its team-wide impact.

C1 — Major Personal Damage Upgrade

When Odette casts the duet (the special follow-up Skill when the Double is active), the final hit deals an additional instance of Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl damage based on her ATK — 300% of ATK in Stellar-Conduct mode, 450% of ATK in Stellar Swirl mode. Summoning the Double also now grants 2 additional Marvelous Splendor stacks (6 total instead of 4).

This is a significant personal damage increase tied directly to her most important ability. C1 is a strong constellation but is now generally ranked behind C2 in priority for team-wide contribution.

C2 — Best Early Constellation (Priority)

C2 makes Odette’s Marvelous Splendor stacks grant her ATK, and applies a 20% RES shred to either Cryo + Electro or Cryo + Anemo enemies near the Dance Double, depending on which Radiance state is active. This resistance reduction applies to every character in the team, making it one of the most impactful team-wide buffs available in Version 7.0 and 7.1. C2 is now the highest-value constellation for team DPS — the RES shred benefits both Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl teams substantially, and the ATK stacking from Marvelous Splendor helps push her above the 2,000 or 3,000 ATK thresholds.

    C4 — Unlocks the Burst

C4 shares Odette’s Snow Swan’s Dream Stellar Glimmer DMG bonus with the whole party when she casts her Burst, and triggers coordinated attacks when party members deal Stellar reaction damage. This is the constellation that makes her Burst worth casting — before C4, the Burst is generally a rotation loss; at C4 and above, casting it earns the field time by extending the buff to the whole team. A meaningful step for overall team performance.

C6 — Major Personal and Team Upgrade

C6 significantly elevates Odette’s personal Stellar Glimmer damage (roughly 60% personal damage increase) and raises the team’s Stellar Glimmer damage by approximately 20% as well. The top-end investment for players fully committed to her, but most of the accessible value comes from C2 and C4.

    Odette Rotation Guide

Odette’s rotation is very short and almost entirely front-loaded. A typical rotation looks like this:

    • Step 1: Enter the field and cast Elemental Skill to summon the Solo Dance Double
    • Step 2: If the Double is already active, cast the special follow-up Skill (the duet) immediately for the Stellar reaction hit
    • Step 3: If C4 or above and the Burst is available, cast it to refresh the Double and share Snow Swan’s Dream with the party. Before C4, skip the Burst — it extends field time without enough payoff.
    • Step 4: Swap off the field immediately — Odette’s total active field time per rotation is roughly 3–6 seconds
    • Step 5: Dance Double maintains off-field Cryo passively throughout the rest of the rotation
    • Step 6: Rotate back to Odette when the Double expires or when cooldowns reset, and repeat

Odette works especially well in short-rotation teams because her Skill and duet damage is frontloaded — quick-swap teams cycle back to her faster, getting more duet hits per minute than slow-rotation teams.

    Is Odette Worth Building?

Yes. Odette is the single most future-proof Stellar Glimmer investment in Version 7.0 and this remains true in 7.1. She enables both Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl — no other 5-star in the current roster does this — which means every Stellar team built in Version 7.0 and beyond benefits from her presence. In Version 7.1, she slots into both Alyosha’s Stellar Conduct teams and Vesna’s new Stellar Swirl teams, making her one of the rare characters who genuinely earns her slot on both sides of Spiral Abyss.

A note on 7.1 context: her Stellar Swirl contribution was slightly understated in Version 7.0 due to the calculation bug patched on September 23. Post-fix, her effective output in Stellar Swirl teams is measurably higher — so any tier lists or damage comparisons from before the patch should be treated as conservative on her behalf.

She is not mandatory — Cryo Traveler and Sandrone can enable the reactions for free — but Odette is the version of that enabler slot that also buffs, deals off-field damage, applies Cryo consistently without manual input, and fits into both reaction types. If you play Sandrone, Cyno, Wriothesley, Vesna, or Mizuki, Odette is the best teammate slot you can invest in. For a summary of every team she fits into, check our full Odette best teams guide.
