How to collect all Eye of Graeae fragments in Genshin Impact is something every player needs to figure out to unlock the final story in Snezhnaya. The Eye of Graeae — also called Goggles — is your monocle-shaped companion gadget in Genshin Impact 7.0. It has lost its power and memories, and you have to restore them by finding three scattered fragments across the region.
None of the fragments are sitting on the open map waiting to be picked up. Each one is tied to a full world quest chain, and you have to complete all three before the finale opens. If you have been working through Snezhnaya quests, our Hesperides of Love and Hate quest guide and our Down In The Dumps quest guide cover two of those chains in full detail.
TL;DR — All Eye Of Graeae Fragments Quick Summary
- There are three Eye of Graeae fragments to collect in Genshin Impact 7.0
- Each fragment is locked behind a separate world quest chain — not open-world pickups
- Fragment 1 (Pebble of Freezing Heart) — Complete the Hesperides of Love and Hate quest chain
- Fragment 2 (Pebble of Serpentine Algae) — Complete the In the Dwelling of Life quest chain
- Fragment 3 (Pebble of Crystalline Essence) — Complete the On One Side a Palace, On the Other a Tomb quest chain
- There is no strict order required, but all three must be done before the finale
- Collecting all three unlocks An Ark That Used to Be a Soul, which starts Her Palace Collapses Into the Blizzard
- You keep Goggles’ exploration powers even after finishing the questline
What Is The Eye Of Graeae In Genshin Impact?
The Eye of Graeae is a special gadget introduced in Genshin Impact 7.0 alongside the Snezhnaya region. Players first encounter it during the quest Into the Wind, Into the Frigid North, but it only becomes fully usable after completing Gunfire in the Silent Lands.
The Eye of Graeae powers key exploration mechanics in Snezhnaya. It lets you interact with Prime Ice Constructs, use the Grappling Gun, switch into TPS-mode shooting, and resist the deadly cold of certain areas. Without it, you simply cannot explore large parts of the region.
Play Genshin Impact on the official website or download it on Android, iOS, PlayStation, Epic Games, or Xbox.
How To Unlock The Eye Of Graeae Fragment Quest
The main quest tracking all three fragments is called An Ark That Used to Be a Soul. It appears automatically in the Snezhnayan Adventure Journal once you clear the Archon Quest Gunfire in the Silent Lands. You do not need to go find it — the journal logs it for you.
You can track your progress at any time by checking your inventory for the Pebble items. Each completed quest chain adds one Pebble. When all three are there, the finale is ready.
All Three Eye Of Graeae Fragment Locations
Here is a quick overview of all three fragments, the quest chain that gives each one, and where that chain begins.
- Pebble of Freezing Heart — Hesperides of Love and Hate quest chain (starts at Svetloledovka)
- Pebble of Serpentine Algae — In the Dwelling of Life quest chain (starts at Flamefeather Valley, southwest of Morepesok)
- Pebble of Crystalline Essence — On One Side a Palace, On the Other a Tomb quest chain (starts after In the Dwelling of Life; access White Birch Snowgrave)
There is no required order. You can do all three chains in any sequence. But all of them must be fully completed before the finale unlocks.
Fragment 1: Pebble Of Freezing Heart — Hesperides Of Love And Hate
How To Start Hesperides Of Love And Hate
Teleport to the central waypoint of Svetloledovka and walk straight ahead until you fall down to the bottom of the valley. You will land near some miners and NPCs, some of whom are standing on wooden platforms.
Look on one of the wooden platforms for a shiny item and interact with it to pick up the Invitation to the “Ritual.” If you cannot find it, speak to the Snegovik standing near the Teleport Waypoint to get an invite instead. Either method starts the chain.

Next, travel to the Fellfrost Peak Statue of the Seven, south of the town. Approaching it triggers the Continue climbing the snowy mountain task inside Through the Gates of Ivory. Follow the blue marker to meet Ikhor, and the chain officially begins.
How To Complete Hesperides Of Love And Hate
This quest chain takes you through the House of Hesperides and involves ceremonies, puzzles, and fights with its residents. Work through all the subquests step by step. The finale of this chain is a fight against Pavlina. After you win, Aksinya appears and gives you the Pebble of Freezing Heart — your first Eye of Graeae fragment.
For a full breakdown of every step in this chain, read our Hesperides of Love and Hate quest guide. We also have individual guides for specific challenges inside the House, including the House of Hesperides challenges guide and the House of the Soulless quest guide.
Fragment 2: Pebble Of Serpentine Algae — In The Dwelling Of Life
How To Start In The Dwelling Of Life

Head to the Statue of the Seven in Flamefeather Valley, which is west of the Central Station and southwest of Morepesok. Just south of the statue you will find an NPC called The Anvil.
Talk to The Anvil, which triggers a fight with him and his crew. Defeat them and the In the Dwelling of Life quest chain begins immediately — no extra trigger needed.
How To Complete In The Dwelling Of Life
This is the longest of the three chains. It follows a girl named Nastya, found in an abandoned tunnel, as she leads you deeper into the ruined settlement of Okurov. The chain has seven subquests in total and includes:
- A Sprout Without a Gardener — Clear the tunnel, find Nastya
- Transplanted From Yesterday to Tomorrow — Escort Nastya through Okurov
- Down In The Dumps — Solve the three-keycard sewer puzzle (Blue, White, Red keys)
- Back on One’s Feet — Explore Ove’s house and fight Furiosa
- Forbidding Doors of Melancholy — Chandelier and wall-dial puzzles
- To Rest in a Forgotten Field — Follow the path to the Teemic Mire
- Chorus of Solace — Defeat Zhara the Immortal Firebird and reach the ending
The entire chain plays out inside the Shadow Realm, where Elemental Skills and Bursts are locked. You fight using the TPS-mode gun and solve puzzles with the Grappling Gun and Prime Ice Constructs. Finishing the chain grants the Pebble of Serpentine Algae.
The sewer section alone is one of the hardest puzzles in 7.0. Our detailed Down In The Dumps quest guide walks through every keycard step so you do not get lost. You can also check our guide on managing Prime Ice Constructs if the building mechanics are confusing you.
Fragment 3: Pebble Of Crystalline Essence — On One Side A Palace, On The Other A Tomb

How To Start On One Side A Palace, On The Other A Tomb
This chain begins on its own after In the Dwelling of Life is done. There is no separate NPC to find. Go to the Central Station and locate the Eye of Graeae inside one of the train carriages to pick up the thread again.
The quest then guides you into the White Birch Snowgrave region in northern Snezhnaya, which is otherwise inaccessible. You cannot reach this area by exploring freely — the storm and cold will kill your party immediately without following the quest steps. Even the train to the Pale Crown Palace requires Goggles’ assistance to fix and operate.
How To Complete On One Side A Palace, On The Other A Tomb
The chain begins with the subquest To Gaze Upon the Dreaming Pale Crown, found in the Pilgrimage to the Sacred Gorge in the northeastern part of Snezhnaya. You can unlock the nearby Teleport Waypoint and then head to the Statue of the Seven to trigger it.
Work through all the subquests in this chain to reach and explore the Pale Crown Palace. Completing the full chain rewards you with the Pebble of Crystalline Essence, the third and final Eye of Graeae fragment.
For Snezhnaya shrine locations while you explore the north, our Snezhnaya Shrine of Depths locations guide is very useful. You can also find the third Shrine of Depths on your way to Flamefeather Valley during this quest chain.
What To Do After Collecting All Three Eye Of Graeae Fragments
Start An Ark That Used To Be A Soul
Once all three Pebbles are in your inventory, the world quest An Ark That Used to Be a Soul becomes active. This quest kicks off the finale — Her Palace Collapses Into the Blizzard.
Teleport to the nearest waypoint at the Pale Crown Palace and follow the marker to the Ruined Hvergelmir. Talk to the Eye of Graeae there. It explains that it wants to learn the truth behind its own creation.
Open The Court Of Bliss
Walk to the entrance leading to the Court of Bliss and select Enable. You will see two options: “Yes, it’s time to return” or “No, let’s come back to this later.” Choosing Yes lets you proceed. Choosing No just sends you back to the palace, so pick Yes when you are ready.
Hold the designated control to consume Kresnik Energy and open the gates. Inside, you meet Aksinya, who reveals the true purpose of the Eye of Graeae and who she really is. She then flees to the Shadow Realm.
Defeat Aksinya And Svarod
Chase Aksinya through the Shadow Realm using Freeze Marks. Aim and fire at each sigil to pull yourself across gaps quickly. The final confrontation is a battle against Aksinya and Svarod. Defeat both to finish the questline.
Winning reveals the fate of both Aksinya and the Eye of Graeae. You also earn the “A Thousand Affections Caught in a Sigh” achievement after the final battle.
Note: Even after completing this full arc, you keep Goggles and all of its exploration powers. You will not lose the ability to use Prime Ice Constructs, drive the train, or resist the cold in Snezhnaya. Continue exploring normally.

Tips For Collecting All Eye Of Graeae Fragments
- Unlock all Teleport Waypoints first — the three chains send you across different parts of Snezhnaya, so having waypoints saves a lot of time
- Check your inventory for the Pebbles to confirm each fragment has registered after finishing a chain
- The In the Dwelling of Life chain is the longest — set aside at least one to two hours for it
- Do not skip subquests — the fragment only registers when the full chain is complete, not just the first subquest
- The On One Side a Palace chain starts automatically — go to the Central Station after In the Dwelling of Life to continue it
- If the finale still has not appeared after all three chains, double-check each quest in your Adventure Journal to see which one still shows as incomplete
