How to Unlock House of the Soulless
House of the Soulless is the third quest under the Hesperides of Love and Hate quest chain in the Fellfrost Peak for Genshin Impact 7.0. To unlock The House of the Soulless, you must have completed the first subquest of Hesperides of Love and Hate, Through the Gates of Ivory.
If you have not started the questline yet, head to Svetloledovka and follow the quest marker to meet Ikhor and start the Hesperides of Love and Hate quest in Genshin Impact. Follow Ikhor to the House of Hesperides. Once you reach the mansion, submit your invitation to the statue on the right side of the door. House of the Soulless Quest Walkthrough
Step 1: Get to the Guarded Room

Teleport to the Waypoint by the entrance of the House of Hesperides mansion. Use the stairs to the left, and immediately enter the door on the left. Since the room on the right is guarded, go to the opposite side and walk up the stairs on the left. This will lead you to an open area. Follow the path to the right until you see a way down. Glide down and enter the room that was guarded from the other side.
This is the key trick of the quest. The front entrance of the private room is blocked by a guard, so you have to loop around and enter from above by gliding down from a ledge. Once you land inside, you are in the correct room and can begin investigating.
Step 2: Investigate the Room and Find the Secret Entrance

Investigate the room until a cat appears. The feline will lead you to a vase. Check the vase to open a secret room containing a puzzle.
The cat will not appear unless you have checked all interactable objects in the room first. Walk around and interact with everything you see — furniture, items on shelves, anything with a prompt. Once all objects have been investigated, the cat spawns and walks toward the vase. Interact with the vase after the cat draws your attention to it, and the hidden wall will slide open to reveal the secret room.
Step 3: Solve the Secret Room Shadow Puzzle

This is the main challenge of House of the Soulless. To solve the puzzle in the secret room, you need to use the Prime Ice Sculpture to fill in the shadows marked on the wall. Correctly placed statues will have yellow outlines on their shadows, and red when placed incorrectly.
To solve the puzzle in the secret room in Genshin Impact, you must place the statue so that its shadow can block the white section of the paintings on the wall. The paintings have specific white-marked areas, and your job is to position the statues so their cast shadows align with those markings exactly.
Here is how the puzzle works step by step:
- Remove any existing statue from the stands in the room
- Grab the Temporary Blueprint of Snegurochka Statue I from the corner. Place it in slot 1 (top-left), then slot 5 (center-middle).
- Place a third statue holding a creature figure to open the hidden passage
- First place three statues that hold a creature to open the hidden room, then swap one of them for the statue holding a sword to finish the solution.
- Watch the shadow outlines — yellow means the placement is correct, red means it needs adjusting
- Once all shadows align correctly, the hidden cellar below will open
Take your time. The statue placement is precise; ensure the shadows align with the white sections of the paintings. The puzzle is not time-gated, so take your time to position the statues correctly. There is no penalty for getting it wrong and no timer to worry about.
Step 4: Enter the Cellar and Collect the Ikhor Fragment
Upon completing the puzzle, head down and you will find the Severed Fragment of Ikhor, along with a few Lumifluorite and a chest along the way. Nab what you want and the quest will end upon getting the doll.
Head down the cellar to recover the first Ikhor fragment. There’s also a Precious Chest that you can claim inside. This completes the House of the Soulless quest, and you’ll progress in the Procrustes’ Iron Bed quest as well.
Make sure to open the Precious Chest before leaving — it holds additional rewards and is easy to overlook in the small cellar space.
House of the Soulless Quest Rewards
Rewards include the first Ikhor fragment (gating Procrustes’ Iron Bed), two chests, a Collectible Painting, and Temporary Blueprints for Snegurochka Statues I and II.
- Severed Fragment of Ikhor — required to advance Procrustes’ Iron Bed
- Precious Chest — found in the cellar after the puzzle
- Collectible Painting — for your Serenitea Pot or archive
- Temporary Blueprint: Snegurochka Statue I and II
- Lumifluorite — Snezhnayan upgrade material
- Standard World Quest experience rewards
What Comes After House of the Soulless
Procrustes’ Iron Bed cannot be finished by merely tracking a standard objective marker. You must successfully wrap up both House of the Soulless and The Sun’s Gilded Apple beforehand.
So once you complete this quest, head to The Sun’s Gilded Apple next if you have not already. Only when both fragment quests are done can you return to the chapel and finish Procrustes’ Iron Bed. Clearing Procrustes’ Iron Bed changes the quest to Bell Ringing at Dusk, the finale.
All three questlines — House of the Soulless, The Sun’s Gilded Apple, and Procrustes’ Iron Bed — are part of the larger effort to collect all three Eye of Graeae fragments needed for the main Snezhnayan story progress.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Cat not appearing: If the cat doesn’t appear, make sure you have investigated all objects in the initial room. You need to interact with every item before the cat triggers.
- Shadows not matching: Statue placement needs to be exact. Use the yellow/red outline feedback from the game to confirm correct positions before moving to the next statue.
- Puzzle not completing: Make sure you complete the creature statues phase first before swapping one out for the sword statue. The sequence matters.
- Guarded room still blocked: You must approach from the upper floor and glide down — do not try to pass the guard from the front. The route goes left stairs, left door, upper open area, down to the ledge, then glide in.
