What Is the Dragov Photo Shoot Puzzle in Genshin Impact?
The Dragov Photo Shoot Puzzle is a hidden open-world challenge in Snezhnaya, introduced in Version 7.0. It is not a tracked quest and has no achievement tied to it, but it does reward an Exquisite Chest filled with Primogems and materials. The puzzle involves an NPC named Dragov, a photographer who has dragged three animal statues to the top of a cliff for the perfect shot — only to realize he has no energy left to arrange them himself.
Your job is to read his clues, figure out where each creature statue belongs based on its associated backdrop, and place them correctly using the Prime Ice Construct system. The puzzle is easy once you know the answer, but confusing if you skip Dragov’s dialogue. This guide covers exactly where to find him and where each creature goes.

Where to Find Dragov in Genshin Impact
Dragov is located on top of a cliff in Fellfrost Peak, just west of the Svetloledovka sub-area in Snezhnaya. Fellfrost Peak is the eastern portion of the Snezhnayan map, and it becomes accessible after unlocking the region through the main story.
To reach Dragov, you need to:
- Complete Archon Quest Prologue: Act III – Song of the Dragon and Freedom to unlock Snezhnaya and receive the Eye of Graeae gadget.
- Progress through Archon Quest Chapter VII: Act I – Everwinter Without Mercy to unlock Snezhnayan world exploration.
- Travel to Fellfrost Peak and look for the cliff west of Svetloledovka. Dragov stands near three large animal statues at the top, visibly distressed about how to arrange them.
The cliff has an open view of the Snezhnayan landscape in multiple directions — this is intentional, as each creature statue needs to face a specific landmark visible from that very spot.

Dragov’s Clues — What He Tells You
When you approach Dragov, he explains the idea behind the photo shoot. He has three animal statues — a Nochhornowl, a Fluffahog, and a Morozhound — and each one has a natural habitat or environment it is associated with. He wants each creature posed in front of the backdrop that best matches its home or nature.
His initial hints can be vague, but you can ask him to elaborate on each animal. Here is what he explains:
- Nochhornowl: It lives in towering trees. Dragov mentions that the largest tree in all of Snezhnaya is the Tsar’s White Birch at the Pale Crown Palace, which can be seen from the cliff to the northeast.
- Fluffahog: It is associated with warm mist. Since actual warmth is impossible in Snezhnaya’s freezing climate, Dragov says any fog or cloud cover will do — something that at least gives the impression of warmth. This is visible to the west from the cliff.
- Morozhound: It is a creature of snowy mountains. Dragov says this one is fairly self-explanatory — face it toward the mountain range, specifically the snowy peaks around the House of Hesperides, visible to the southeast.
Once you understand the clues, the solution becomes clear. Each creature goes in the spot where its landmark backdrop is visible.
Dragov Photo Shoot Puzzle Solution
Use the temporary blueprints Dragov provides and build each creature statue at the correct placement spot from the Prime Ice Construct menu. Here is the exact solution for all three:
Nochhornowl – Northeastern Spot
Place the Nochhornowl in the northeastern spot on the cliff, so it faces toward the Pale Crown Palace in the distance. The Tsar’s White Birch — the towering tree Dragov referenced — is the landmark associated with this creature. The northeastern position gives the Nochhornowl a clear line of sight toward that iconic tree, creating the perfect nature shot Dragov envisions.
Fluffahog – Western Spot
Place the Fluffahog in the western spot on the cliff, facing toward the cloud or fog visible in that direction. Since Snezhnaya is far too cold for genuine warm mist, the clouds in the western sky serve as the closest stand-in. Dragov accepts this as a reasonable substitute for the Fluffahog’s natural warm, misty habitat.
Morozhound – Southeastern Spot
Place the Morozhound in the southeastern spot, facing the snowy mountain range near the House of Hesperides. The Morozhound is a mountain creature, and the rugged, snow-covered peaks of the House of Hesperides area provide the perfect icy backdrop for the shot. This is the most straightforward placement of the three.

What Happens After You Place All Three
Once all three creature statues are correctly placed in their matching spots, Dragov automatically reacts with satisfaction. He thanks you enthusiastically and comments on how perfect the shots turned out. An Exquisite Chest then spawns on the cliff as your reward, which can contain Primogems, level-up materials, and other Snezhnayan items.
There is no quest completion notification, no achievement, and no follow-up objective. The puzzle resolves itself as soon as the final creature is placed correctly. If you are collecting chests across Fellfrost Peak, this one is easy to miss since it has no map marker — make a point to visit Dragov whenever you pass through the area.
About the Snezhnayan Animals
The Nochhornowl, Fluffahog, and Morozhound are three of the brand new wildlife species added to Genshin Impact in Version 7.0 alongside the launch of Snezhnaya. They are part of a larger group of new animals that can be found across the frozen region, including the Severelk, Polyarbear, Red-Bellied Plover, and others. Some of these creatures can be captured using the Omni-Ubiquity Net and placed in your Serenitea Pot.
Dragov’s love of wildlife photography is a fun use of these new creatures and a good introduction to what each one looks like and where they naturally live in Snezhnaya.
Tips for the Dragov Photo Shoot Puzzle
- Talk to Dragov fully before placing anything. His clues are tied to Snezhnayan lore — knowing that the Tsar’s White Birch is at the Pale Crown Palace helps you identify the correct direction. If you skip the dialogue, the placements will feel random.
- Ask for more details if his first explanation is unclear. Dragov gives you the option to ask about each creature individually. Take it if you are unsure. His follow-up descriptions are much more specific than his opening summary.
- Use landmarks visible from the cliff. The puzzle is entirely based on what you can see from the cliff where Dragov stands. Look northeast for the Pale Crown Palace, west for cloud cover, and southeast for the House of Hesperides mountain range — then orient each creature accordingly.
- You do not need the main Hesperides quest completed. The Dragov puzzle is an independent open-world interaction. You can complete it at any point after reaching Fellfrost Peak, even before starting the House of Hesperides quest chain.
- Check your Eye of Graeae energy. Building the creature blueprints uses Kresnik Energy. Make sure your Eye of Graeae is charged before approaching Dragov, so you can place all three in one smooth visit without running out mid-puzzle.
