What Is the Abuzova Seating Arrangements Quest in Genshin Impact?
The Abuzova Seating Arrangements quest — simply called the Seating Arrangements challenge — is a hidden puzzle on the second floor of the House of Hesperides in Fellfrost Peak, Snezhnaya. It is one of the mansion’s fifteen-plus hidden challenges and involves a flustered NPC named Abuzova who is trying to manage the seating for four difficult guests at a gathering. The guests — Zlatov, Iskelina, Koshakova, and Khmelyova — all have opinions about who they sit near and where they are placed, making the arrangement more complicated than it sounds.
Your job is to listen to Abuzova’s constraints, fix a physical problem with the side room using a Cube Prime Ice Construct, and then direct each guest to the correct seat. Getting it right rewards a chest and wraps up one of the more characterful hidden quests in the entire mansion.
The Seating Arrangements challenge is in the same hallway area as the VIP Pass and VIP Lounge Quest and the Musical Chairs Jack Frost challenge. All three share the same second floor zone and can be cleared in a single visit. For the complete list of every House of Hesperides challenge, see the All House of Hesperides Challenges Guide.
How to Access the House of Hesperides Second Floor
To reach Abuzova and the Seating Arrangements quest, you need access to the mansion and its upper floor:
- Complete Archon Quest Prologue: Act III – Song of the Dragon and Freedom to unlock Snezhnaya and receive the Eye of Graeae gadget.
- Progress through Archon Quest Chapter VII: Act I – Everwinter Without Mercy and complete Gunfire in the Silent Lands to unlock Snezhnayan world quests.
- Start and progress through the Hesperides of Love and Hate world quest chain. During this quest you follow a mysterious boy named Ikhor to the mansion, attend the wedding events, and eventually gain free-roaming access to the building after the story segment concludes. The Invitation to the “Ritual” grants ongoing re-entry.
- Once inside, take the southern staircase from the Main Floor to the second floor. The Seating Arrangements challenge area is in the eastern section of the second floor, near the VIP Lounge.
Make sure your Eye of Graeae has Kresnik Energy before heading up — you need it to build the Cube constructs for the side room gap. Refill from Mini Kresnik Torches or Kresnik Kristall Ores outside if your energy is low.
Where to Find Abuzova
Abuzova is located on the second floor of the House of Hesperides, in the same hallway area as the VIP Lounge entrance. After taking the southern staircase from the Main Floor, head east along the second floor corridor. The Seating Arrangements challenge, VIP Lounge, and Musical Chairs Jack Frost challenges all share this same zone — Abuzova will be visible in the area, stressed about the seating arrangements for the evening.
Approach and interact with Abuzova to trigger the challenge. She explains her predicament: four guests need to be seated, but the current room setup is not working for everyone. She lays out the constraints — who needs to be where — and asks the Traveler and Paimon to help sort it out.
Understanding the Guest Constraints
Abuzova’s four guests each have preferences or requirements about where they sit and who they are near. After speaking with her, the key rules for the seating arrangement are:
- Zlatov and Khmelyova need to be seated in the side room — a smaller, more private space off the main gathering area.
- Iskelina and Koshakova need to be seated in the main hall — the larger central seating area.
Before any of the guests can sit in the side room, there is a practical problem to solve: the side room has a gap in one of its walls or surfaces that makes it uncomfortable or unsuitable for sitting. This gap needs to be blocked first using Prime Ice Constructs before the side room becomes usable for Zlatov and Khmelyova.

How to Complete the Seating Arrangements Quest — Step by Step
Step 1 — Block the Gap in the Side Room with Cube Constructs
Before directing any guests to their seats, go to the side room and examine the gap. Open your Prime Ice Construct menu and build Cube Prime Ice Constructs to fill and block the gap in the side room. Place as many Cubes as needed until the gap is fully covered and the room is sealed properly.
This step is essential — if you try to seat Zlatov and Khmelyova in the side room before blocking the gap, the arrangement will not register as correct. The Cube placement must come first.
Step 2 — Invite Zlatov and Khmelyova to the Side Room
With the gap blocked and the side room now properly closed, find Zlatov and interact with him. Select the option to invite him to sit in the side room. Then find Khmelyova and do the same — invite her to take a seat in the side room as well.
Both guests accept the side room placement once the gap is sealed. They move to their seats in the smaller private space.
Step 3 — Tell Iskelina and Koshakova to Sit in the Main Hall
Next, find Iskelina and interact with her. Select the option directing her to sit in the main hall. Then find Koshakova and do the same — tell her to take her seat in the main hall as well.
With both main hall guests seated and both side room guests placed, all four guests are now in their correct positions according to Abuzova’s arrangement rules.
Step 4 — Return to Abuzova and Collect Your Reward
Once all four guests are seated correctly, return to Abuzova and speak with her. She reacts with visible relief — the seating crisis is resolved, the gathering can proceed, and everyone is in a position that satisfies the arrangement requirements. A chest spawns as your reward for sorting out the chaos. Open it to collect Primogems, Intricately Patterned Buttons, Mora, and other Snezhnayan materials.
About the Four Guests — Character Background
The four guests in the Seating Arrangements quest are all attendees of Grand Duchess Pavlina’s gathering at the House of Hesperides. Each represents a different social type you might find at a Snezhnayan aristocratic party:
- Zlatov is one of the more notable guests — his name and the Seating Arrangements challenge are both referenced in Lazoreva’s dialogue in the VIP Lounge, hinting that the social dynamics of Pavlina’s event are deliberately interconnected across the mansion’s various challenges.
- Khmelyova shares the side room with Zlatov, suggesting they are either compatible company or specifically need to be kept away from the other two.
- Iskelina and Koshakova belong in the more public main hall — either by preference or because their presence in the main space serves the event’s social function better.
Abuzova herself is a mansion organizer trying to keep the event running smoothly, and her stress about the seating is a small but entertaining piece of the wider House of Hesperides character work — each NPC in the mansion has a distinct personality and problem that feeds into the overall picture of a chaotic but charming gathering.
The Musical Chairs Jack Frost Challenge — Same Area
The Musical Chairs Jack Frost challenge is in the same hallway zone as the Seating Arrangements quest. It involves a group of Jack Frosts playing musical chairs — a timing-based interaction where you watch the fae circle the chairs and sit down at the right moment to claim a seat when the in-game cue triggers. Completing it rewards a Common Chest.
Since both challenges share the same location on the second floor, clearing them together in a single visit is the most efficient approach. After finishing Abuzova’s seating puzzle, immediately look for the Musical Chairs Jack Frosts in the same corridor area before moving to any other floor.
Tips for the Abuzova Seating Arrangements Quest
- Block the gap before trying to seat anyone. This is the most common mistake in this challenge. The side room is unsuitable for guests until the gap is filled with Cube constructs. Attempting to invite Zlatov or Khmelyova to the side room before sealing the gap will not work — the quest won’t progress until the Cubes are in place.
- Have Kresnik Energy ready before approaching Abuzova. You need enough Eye of Graeae energy to build the Cube constructs for the gap. If you spent it all on other second floor puzzles like the Suspicious Ceiling Quest, refill before starting this one.
- Read Abuzova’s constraints carefully before moving anyone. She describes the seating requirements in her opening dialogue. Understanding that the side room is for Zlatov and Khmelyova and the main hall is for Iskelina and Koshakova before you start prevents any backtracking.
- Clear the VIP Lounge and Musical Chairs challenges in the same visit. All three challenges — Seating Arrangements, VIP Lounge, and Musical Chairs Jack Frost — are in the same hallway on the second floor. Doing all three at once means you do not need to revisit this part of the mansion separately. See our VIP Pass and VIP Lounge Quest Guide for the lounge walkthrough.
- Check the Eye of Graeae map after completing each challenge. The mansion map accessible through the Eye of Graeae tracks which challenges are done and which remain. After clearing the Seating Arrangements challenge, open the map to confirm it shows as complete and see what else is still open on the second floor before moving on.
