Mizuki Stellar Swirl build is one of the most exciting new setups in Genshin Impact Version 7.0, and it has grown stronger in Version 7.1. Yumemizuki Mizuki is an Anemo catalyst driver who stays on the field and triggers Swirl reactions for her team. When you build her around Stellar Swirl instead of normal Swirl, her damage profile changes completely, because Stellar Swirl reactions can land critical hits. That one mechanic — Stellar Swirl critting — is what makes her one of the premier on-field DPS options in the Snezhnayan reaction meta. This guide covers her best artifacts, weapons, stats, teams, constellations, and rotation, updated for 2026 including all Version 7.1 changes.
If you are building your Snezhnayan roster alongside Mizuki, check out our Cyno Stellar Conduct build and Yae Miko Stellar Conduct build — both pair well with the same Cryo enablers that Mizuki uses and can fill the other half of a Spiral Abyss lineup.
TL;DR
- Mizuki is a Tier 0 on-field Anemo driver for Stellar Swirl teams as of Version 7.1 — up from Tier 0.5 in 7.0
- Best artifact set: Scarlet Proof (4-piece) — purpose-built for Stellar Swirl damage
- Best weapon: Sunny Morning Sleep-In (signature) — procs on Stellar Swirl for near-constant EM buff
- F2P weapon: Echoes of the Heart (Snezhnayan craftable)
- Main stats: EM Sands, EM Goblet, CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG Circlet
- Stat targets: ~950–1050 EM, 70–85% CRIT Rate, 200–225% CRIT DMG
- Best team (7.1): Mizuki + Odette + Cryo Traveler + Vodyanitsa
- Mizuki cannot trigger Stellar Swirl alone — she needs Odette, Cryo Traveler, Vesna, or Sandrone as enabler
- 7.1 bug fix: Cryo characters now correctly count in Stellar Swirl damage — all pre-7.1 damage tests are invalid
- Constellation priority: C2 > C6 > C1 > C4
Version 7.1 Changes Affecting Mizuki
Mizuki herself received no kit changes in Version 7.1, but the ecosystem around her shifted meaningfully. Here is everything that affects her build and team choices in the new patch:
- Tier 0 promotion: Mizuki moves up from Tier 0.5 to Tier 0 in the 7.1 meta, lifted by the Stellar Swirl bug fix and the rise of Faruzan as a Tier 0.5 Anemo support. She is on a downward watchlist due to niche overlap with Vesna, but her placement and damage output are higher than they were in 7.0.
- Stellar Swirl bug fix: A bug where the reaction could occasionally fail to include Cryo characters in its damage calculations is now fixed. Every Stellar Swirl damage number recorded before September 23, 2026 was measured against broken behavior. Discard all pre-7.1 benchmarks and re-evaluate team damage under corrected calculations — Mizuki’s real output is higher than 7.0 tests suggested.
- Vodyanitsa (new support): The new 5-star Hydro Catalyst support from 7.1 fits into Mizuki teams as a flex fourth slot. She heals from off-field, shreds Anemo, Cryo, and Hydro resistance, and converts Stellar Vortices into Wandering Vortices that deal additional Stellar Swirl damage. She replaces Qiqi or Sucrose as the premium fourth slot when you own her. Be cautious with her off-field Hydro application — over-stacking Hydro can steal the Cryo aura from enemies and prevent Stellar Swirl from triggering.
- Vesna (new Stellar Linchpin — not a replacement): Vesna is a new 5-star Anemo Sword enabler added in 7.1 who competes with Mizuki for the on-field Anemo DPS slot. She does not replace Mizuki in Mizuki teams — they serve the same role. Players who own Vesna will generally run Vesna as the driver, while Mizuki remains the best free/standard banner alternative. If you own both, compare their damage in your specific roster.
- Faruzan tier rise: Faruzan jumps from Tier 1 to Tier 0.5 in 7.1, driven by the rise of Anemo Stellar Swirl carries. She is now the strongest buffer for Mizuki at C6, above Sucrose in teams where Anemo DMG is the primary damage source.
- Mizuki added to anniversary standard banner selector: Version 7.1 is Genshin Impact’s sixth anniversary and includes a free standard 5-star selector. Mizuki is one of the options, making her constellations significantly more accessible to players who previously could not pull her.
- Stardread Moon Spiral Abyss blessing: The 7.1 Spiral Abyss Blessing of the Abyssal Moon triggers shockwaves on Stellar Swirl damage. Mizuki Stellar Swirl teams are among the strongest choices for this Abyss period.
Who Is Mizuki in Genshin Impact
Yumemizuki Mizuki is a 5-star Anemo Catalyst character originally released in Version 5.4. She is a clinical psychologist from Inazuma and owns a share of the Aisa Bathhouse in Inazuma City. In combat she functions as an on-field Anemo driver, staying on the field to continuously trigger Swirl reactions while her teammates apply elements from off-field.
Mizuki is a playable Anemo character in Genshin Impact. She’s a driver who can reliably trigger Swirl reactions. However, you can build her to inflict more DMG using the Stellar Swirl reactions instead of normal Swirls. Her Version 7.0 Witch’s Revelation buffs deepened her synergy with Stellar Linchpin characters and gave her access to direct Stellar Swirl damage — reactions that, unlike standard Swirl, can critically hit. Yumemizuki Mizuki works best as an Anemo Driver in her Stellar-Swirl teams, with her signature Sunny Morning Sleep-In and the Scarlet Proof artifact set as her best equipment.
As a Standard 5-star, Mizuki’s Constellations can be acquired through the Standard Banner, losing 50/50s on the Limited banner, or even Anniversary selectors. In Version 7.1 she has also been added to the anniversary free standard 5-star selector, making her and her Constellations easier to acquire than ever before. She has also been added to the “Temper Thyself and Journey Far” event, making her Constellations even easier to acquire.

How Mizuki Stellar Swirl Works
Standard Swirl is a transformative reaction that deals Anemo-infused elemental damage but cannot crit. Stellar Swirl, introduced in Version 7.0, upgrades Cryo Swirl into a new reaction inside a Polestar Field that can land critical hits. This fundamentally changes how you build Mizuki — away from pure Elemental Mastery and toward a hybrid that balances EM with CRIT stats.
Mizuki’s Stellar Swirl build is completely different from her normal build because of Stellar Swirl’s ability to land critical hits during combat. That means you need to build Mizuki with CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG to make the most of every Stellar Swirl reaction she triggers.
Crucially, Mizuki herself does not enable Stellar Swirl reactions. As of Version 7.0 you need Odette, Cryo Traveler, or Sandrone as a Stellar Linchpin. Version 7.1 added Vesna as a fourth Linchpin option, but since Vesna occupies the same on-field DPS slot as Mizuki, the practical enablers for a Mizuki team remain Odette and Cryo Traveler. Odette or Cryo Traveler converts Cryo Swirl into Stellar Swirl, while Mizuki stays on field driving the reactions continuously.
Her kit’s EM scaling also benefits the whole team. Mizuki increases Swirl and Stellar Swirl damage based on her Elemental Mastery. It scales with talent level, and at level 10, you get a 4.5% Stellar Swirl damage bonus for every 100 EM. She also gives additional EM to nearby party members based on 10% of her EM.
Mizuki Stellar Swirl Best Artifacts
Best Set: Scarlet Proof (4-Piece)
Scarlet Proof acts as the definitive gear set for Stellar Swirl damage specialists. Its four-piece bonus increases CRIT Rate and elevates Stellar Swirl damage right after you trigger the reaction, aligning perfectly with Mizuki’s kit. The built-in CRIT Rate bonus from the 4-piece helps close the gap between her CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG, letting you run more CRIT DMG on substats and the Circlet without falling short on CRIT Rate. This remains the best-in-slot set in Version 7.1 with no change to its domain or availability.
As of Snezhnaya’s patch, Scarlet Proof is Mizuki’s new best artifact set due to its synergy with her Radiance: Stellar-Swirl passive, which exponentially scales her damage up to be on par with the more competitive options. Farm this from its domain as your first priority when building a Stellar Swirl Mizuki.
Alternative Artifact Sets
- Gilded Dreams (4-piece): You can either run her on 2-piece/2-piece EM sets, giving 160 EM with no conditions, or go with 4-piece Gilded Dreams, which gives her 180 EM. A strong alternative while you farm Scarlet Proof, particularly in teams with multiple different elements present.
- 2-piece EM + 2-piece EM mix: Any combination of EM-boosting 2-piece sets (Wanderer’s Troupe, Gilded Dreams, Flower of Paradise Lost) gives a flat 160 EM with no conditions. Solid placeholder option.
- Viridescent Venerer (4-piece): Do not run VV on Mizuki in Stellar Swirl setups. Give it to Sucrose or Faruzan instead for the resistance shred. In 7.1 this is doubly true since Vodyanitsa already provides multi-element RES shred in the premium team slot.
Mizuki Stellar Swirl Stat Priority
- Sands: Elemental Mastery
- Goblet: Elemental Mastery
- Circlet: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG depending on your current ratio — lean CRIT DMG if the Scarlet Proof 4-piece and Cryo Resonance already give you enough CRIT Rate
Rough on-screen stat targets before buffs: 950–1050 EM, 70–85% CRIT Rate, 200–225% CRIT DMG. Double Cryo resonance already adds 15% CRIT Rate, so plan your Circlet around that. These targets remain unchanged in 7.1 — the bug fix means your existing build now produces more damage than 7.0 tests showed, without needing to re-gear.
Substat Priority
- CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG — the most important substats since Stellar Swirl can crit
- Elemental Mastery — directly scales her Stellar Swirl DMG bonus and party EM share
- ATK% — lower priority but not wasted
- Energy Recharge — only enough to cast Burst comfortably; do not over-invest
Mizuki Stellar Swirl Best Weapons
Best 5-Star Weapons
- Sunny Morning Sleep-In (Signature, Best in Slot): Sunny Morning Sleep-In is Mizuki’s signature weapon, and it was buffed to make it compatible with Stellar Swirl. Whenever Mizuki triggers Stellar Swirl now, she gets the Elemental Mastery buff without having to alter her gameplay to work with her best-in-slot. Its massive EM secondary stat and passive uptime on Stellar Swirl make this the clear top choice. Unchanged in 7.1.
- Dawning Frost: A strong craftable option at high refinement. Its passive provides a consistent damage window that pairs well with Mizuki’s Charge Attack into Skill rotation. Falls behind Sunny Morning Sleep-In at R1 but competitive at high refinement.
- A Thousand Floating Dreams: A solid EM stat stick that also benefits nearby teammates with EM. Good if you own it and need an alternative to the signature.
- Starcaller’s Watch / Reliquary of Truth: Good CRIT stat sticks at 5-star rarity. Usable if you lack the above options and need more CRIT to reach breakpoints.
Best 4-Star Weapons
- Echoes of the Heart (Snezhnayan Craftable, Best F2P): Echoes of the Heart is a solid F2P weapon that allows Mizuki to work directly with both Stellar Swirl and Stellar-Conduct reactions. Since it’s a forgeable Catalyst, you can easily forge the R5 version for 32% extra DMG on Stellar Glimmer reactions on top of 120 Elemental Mastery whenever she triggers any reaction. This remains the best free option in 7.1 with no change to its forging materials.
- Sacrificial Fragments: High EM secondary stat and a passive that resets Elemental Skill cooldown. Useful if you need more Skill uptime in your rotation and do not have the craftable weapon yet.
- The Widsith: It gives Mizuki access to 55% CRIT DMG on top of huge Elemental Mastery at R5 when the Interlude buff procs. A high-variance option — strong when it procs correctly, unreliable otherwise.
Mizuki Talent Priority
Elemental Skill first. Her Skill — Dreamdrifter — is the core of her on-field damage and Stellar Swirl triggering. It grants the party a Swirl and Stellar Swirl DMG Bonus that scales directly with her EM talent level. At level 10, you get a 4.5% Stellar Swirl damage bonus for every 100 EM. Prioritize this to 9 or 10.
Elemental Burst second. Her Burst has useful mechanical interactions and contributes to her rotation. Worth upgrading after the Skill, but building ER for it in favor of other stats is typically not very worth it. Level to 8 or 9.
Normal Attack last. Normal Attack investment provides minimal returns. Leave this at level 6 or lower.

Mizuki Constellations for Stellar Swirl
C2 and C6 carry the most weight for a Stellar Swirl build. C6 is especially strong here because it lets Mizuki’s own excess Elemental Mastery feed her CRIT stats directly, which meshes with the whole CRIT-focused Stellar Swirl setup. C2 is the priority stop for team damage thanks to its resistance shred and elemental damage sharing. With Mizuki now included in the 7.1 anniversary standard banner selector, reaching C2 or higher is more achievable than at any prior point in the game.
Constellation 1
A solid damage bump for Mizuki’s Stellar Swirl output. Provides additional Stellar Swirl hits through her passive interactions. Good to have but not worth chasing on its own as a stopping point.
Constellation 2 (Priority Stop)
The most impactful early constellation. Delivers potent team-wide damage bonus and resistance shred that directly amplifies Stellar Swirl output for the entire team. This is the recommended stopping point for most players. Now more accessible via the 7.1 anniversary selector.
Constellation 4
Makes Mizuki’s Burst easier to use by reducing Energy requirements. Decent quality-of-life, but not a priority constellation — the damage gain does not justify chasing it ahead of C2 or C6.
Constellation 6 (Biggest Power Spike)
The massive power spike for a Stellar Swirl Mizuki. C6 converts her excess Elemental Mastery into CRIT stats, creating perfect synergy with the EM-heavy Stellar Swirl build, and boosts her personal Stellar Swirl damage significantly. The bug fix in 7.1 means C6 Mizuki’s corrected damage output is noticeably higher than any pre-7.1 calculations showed. Worth chasing if you plan to make Mizuki a long-term investment.
Constellation priority: C2 > C6 > C1 > C4
Mizuki Stellar Swirl Best Team Comps (Updated for 7.1)
Best Team (7.1): Mizuki + Odette + Cryo Traveler + Vodyanitsa
This is the strongest Mizuki Stellar Swirl team in Version 7.1. Mizuki drives on-field and triggers Swirls continuously. Odette enables the reaction, applies off-field Cryo through her Dance Double, and buffs the Vortex. Cryo Traveler provides a second off-field Cryo source, keeps Cryo Resonance active for a 15% team CRIT Rate buff, and contributes personal Stellar Swirl damage through her Burst. Vodyanitsa slots in as the new premium flex support, healing from off-field, shredding Anemo, Cryo, and Hydro resistance simultaneously, and converting active Stellar Vortices into Wandering Vortices for extra Stellar Swirl damage. This team activates every part of Vodyanitsa’s kit at once. Be mindful of her Hydro application — keep it light so it does not steal the Cryo aura from enemies.
High Investment Team: Mizuki + Odette + Cryo Traveler + Faruzan (C6)
Faruzan jumped to Tier 0.5 in 7.1, making her an even stronger choice here. She provides Anemo RES shred and, at C6, a CRIT DMG buff that directly amplifies every Stellar Swirl crit. Without C6 her value drops considerably. If you have C6 Faruzan, she now competes closely with Vodyanitsa for the flex slot — Vodyanitsa provides more utility (healing, triple RES shred, Wandering Vortex), while C6 Faruzan provides higher raw damage ceiling for Mizuki specifically. Run whichever you own.
Standard Team: Mizuki + Odette + Cryo Traveler + Sucrose
This was the best team in 7.0 and remains excellent in 7.1 for players who do not own Vodyanitsa. Sucrose shares Elemental Mastery across the team, adds more Anemo application, and holds Viridescent Venerer for Cryo RES shred. Run this if Vodyanitsa is not in your roster — it performs very close to the Vodyanitsa version thanks to the 7.1 bug fix boosting overall damage.
Sustain Team: Mizuki + Odette + Cryo Traveler + Qiqi
Note that Qiqi dropped from Tier 0.5 to Tier 1 in the 7.1 tier list, with Vodyanitsa now being the preferred sustain option in premium teams. Qiqi still works well in this slot and adds Cryo Resonance reinforcement, but if you own Vodyanitsa, run her instead. This comp is still a solid, forgiving choice for difficult content where sustain matters most.
F2P Team: Mizuki + Cryo Traveler + Sucrose + Diona
A fully free-to-play Stellar Swirl team that requires no limited 5-stars. Cryo Traveler enables the reaction, Sucrose handles VV shred and EM sharing, and Diona at C6 provides 200 EM to active characters inside her Burst field along with healing and shielding. This setup is unchanged from 7.0 and remains the recommended F2P starting point. The 7.1 bug fix means this team’s corrected damage is also higher than it appeared in pre-7.1 tests.
Mizuki Stellar Swirl Rotation
Mizuki’s rotation is relatively simple since she stays on field for most of the cycle. Here is a standard rotation:
- Step 1: Use Cryo Traveler’s Elemental Skill for off-field Cryo application
- Step 2: Activate Odette’s Elemental Skill to set up the Polestar Field and Stellar Swirl conversion
- Step 3: Use Sucrose (or Faruzan or Vodyanitsa) Elemental Skill or Burst for EM share and RES shred
- Step 4: Switch to Mizuki and use Charged Attack into Elemental Skill to activate Dreamdrifter and start triggering Stellar Swirl
- Step 5: Maintain on-field presence, weaving Normal Attacks and Charged Attacks to keep Stellar Swirl proc rate high
- Step 6: Use Mizuki’s Burst when available for additional damage and mechanical bonuses
- Step 7: Refresh supports when their durations expire and repeat
Charge Attack into Skill is cheap on Mizuki. Her Charge Attack animation is short, the Dawning Frost buff lasts 10 seconds, and Dreamdrifter also lasts about 10 seconds. You keep near-full uptime without bloating the rotation. If running Vodyanitsa in the flex slot, activate her Elemental Skill before switching to Mizuki so her off-field healing and resistance shred are active from the start of the window.
Should You Build Mizuki for Stellar Swirl
Yes, especially if you already have her as a Standard 5-star. In Version 7.1, Mizuki is a Tier 0 Stellar Swirl carry and the best free alternative to Vesna for the on-field Anemo DPS role. The 7.1 bug fix means her damage output under correct calculations is higher than any 7.0 test showed, and her team support pool has expanded with Vodyanitsa as a new premium flex pick.
The one caveat in 7.1 is that Vesna occupies the same role and has a slightly higher ceiling in equal investment scenarios. If you pull Vesna, she will typically be the better driver. If you do not have Vesna or prefer to save your Primogems, Mizuki is a completely viable Tier 0 carry that requires no additional limited banners — especially now that her Constellations are available through the anniversary standard banner selector.
The critical thing to remember is that she cannot trigger Stellar Swirl alone. You need Odette or Cryo Traveler as a Stellar Linchpin. Cryo Traveler is completely free from the Snezhnayan Statue of the Seven, so even F2P players can access this team immediately. Frequently Asked Questions
Is Mizuki good for Stellar Swirl in Genshin Impact?
Yes. After her Version 7.0 Witch’s Revelation buffs, Mizuki is a Tier 0 on-field Stellar Swirl DPS as of Version 7.1. Her kit scales with Elemental Mastery, she stays on field to continuously trigger reactions, and Stellar Swirl’s ability to crit makes her one of the highest-damage drivers in the current meta. She is the best free/standard banner alternative to Vesna for the on-field Anemo DPS slot.
What is the best artifact set for Mizuki Stellar Swirl?
Scarlet Proof (4-piece) is her best artifact set for Stellar Swirl builds. It increases her CRIT Rate against enemies affected by Stellar Swirl and directly amplifies Stellar Swirl reaction damage, aligning perfectly with her kit. This remains her best-in-slot set in Version 7.1.
What is Mizuki’s best weapon for Stellar Swirl?
Sunny Morning Sleep-In is her signature and best-in-slot. It was updated to proc on Stellar Swirl, giving her a near-constant Elemental Mastery buff. For free-to-play players, Echoes of the Heart (Snezhnayan craftable catalyst) is the best alternative and directly buffs Stellar Glimmer reaction damage. Both weapon choices remain unchanged in Version 7.1.
Who should I pair with Mizuki for Stellar Swirl in 7.1?
Mizuki needs a Stellar Linchpin character to convert Cryo Swirl into Stellar Swirl. Odette is the best option and also buffs the whole team’s Stellar reaction damage. Cryo Traveler is a free alternative. In Version 7.1, the best flex slot is Vodyanitsa — she heals off-field, shreds Anemo, Cryo, and Hydro resistance, and converts Stellar Vortices into Wandering Vortices for extra damage. C6 Faruzan is the alternative if you want maximum raw damage rather than utility.
Can Mizuki trigger Stellar Swirl by herself?
No. Mizuki is an Anemo character and cannot act as a Stellar Linchpin on her own. She requires Odette, Cryo Traveler, Vesna, or Sandrone in her party to convert Cryo Swirl into Stellar Swirl. Since Vesna occupies the same on-field DPS role as Mizuki, the practical enablers for a Mizuki team are Odette and Cryo Traveler.
What is the difference between Stellar Swirl and Stellar Conduct?
Stellar Conduct is triggered by Electro and Cryo reactions (upgraded Superconduct) and creates a Polestar Field — it is primarily used by characters like Cyno, Yae Miko, and Sandrone. Stellar Swirl is triggered by Anemo and Cryo reactions (upgraded Cryo Swirl) and is Mizuki’s primary reaction. Both are Stellar Glimmer reactions, both can crit, but they serve different team archetypes.
Does Version 7.1 change Mizuki’s build?
Mizuki herself received no kit changes in 7.1. Her best artifacts, weapons, and stat targets are identical. What changed is the ecosystem around her: a Stellar Swirl bug fix means all pre-7.1 damage tests are invalid and her true output is higher than previously measured; Vodyanitsa is now the best flex support in her premium team; Faruzan rose to Tier 0.5 making C6 Faruzan a stronger alternative; and Vesna arrived as a competing on-field Anemo carry. Mizuki rose from Tier 0.5 to Tier 0 in the 7.1 tier list as a result of these changes.
