Who Is Yae Miko in Genshin Impact?
Yae Miko is one of the most iconic characters in Genshin Impact. She is a 5-star Electro Catalyst user from the Inazuma region. Her full title is Guuji — the head shrine maiden of the Grand Narukami Shrine. She is also the editor-in-chief of the Yae Publishing House, and a close friend of the Electro Archon, Ei.
She is a kitsune — a fox spirit — with centuries of history behind her. Her personality is layered and playful, with a sharp wit and a tendency to enjoy watching others squirm. She rarely shows her true feelings, yet her loyalty to Inazuma runs deep. Her constellation is named Divina Vulpes, and her birthday falls on June 27.
In combat, she wears a pink and white shrine maiden outfit and wields lightning-shaped magic attacks. Her five fox tails briefly appear when she uses her Elemental Burst, giving players a rare glimpse of her true form. Yae Miko Overview – Stats and Role
Yae Miko functions primarily as an off-field Sub-DPS. This means she does most of her damage without staying on the field. You deploy her Elemental Skill up to three times to place Sesshou Sakura turrets, then swap to your main DPS. The turrets keep firing and dealing Electro damage while you play other characters.
Here is a quick overview of her base character stats:
- Rarity: 5-Star
- Element: Electro
- Weapon Type: Catalyst
- Region: Inazuma
- Role: Off-Field Sub-DPS / Stellar-Conduct Enabler
- Release Date: February 16, 2022 (Version 2.5)
- Constellation: Divina Vulpes
You can play Yae Miko on all platforms. She is available in the game on Android, iOS, PlayStation, Epic Games, and Xbox.
Yae Miko Skills and Abilities
Understanding her kit is the key to getting the most out of her. Here is a breakdown of each of her skills.
Normal Attack – Spiritfox Sin-Eater
Yae Miko performs up to three quick attacks using kitsune spirits that deal Electro damage. Her Charged Attack consumes stamina and hits a wide area with Electro damage. Her Plunging Attack deals AoE Electro damage on landing. Normal attacks are rarely used in practice because her off-field skill does the bulk of the work.
Elemental Skill – Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura
This is the heart of her kit. When activated, Yae Miko dashes forward and leaves a Sesshou Sakura turret at her location. She can place up to three of them. Each turret fires lightning strikes at nearby enemies every few seconds. Turrets close to each other increase in level, dealing more damage. The max level is 3.
After the Version 6.7 buffs, her Sesshou Sakura also deals Stellar-Conduct damage when the Polestar Field reaction is active. This made her dramatically more powerful in the current meta. The turrets have a long duration, so she can swap off and let them work passively.
Elemental Burst – Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin
Yae Miko summons a powerful lightning strike that deals AoE Electro damage. Each nearby Sesshou Sakura is also consumed and transforms into a Tenko Thunderbolt, dealing additional AoE Electro damage. After using the Burst, each Sesshou Sakura destroyed resets one charge of her Elemental Skill cooldown.
In most cases, her Burst is considered a slight damage loss compared to simply placing turrets. However, it does refresh her skill charges, which makes it useful in extended fights. At C4 it becomes slightly more efficient, but still generally not worth prioritizing.
Passive Talents
- Witch’s Renewal (1st Ascension Passive): Yae Miko’s Sesshou Sakura now lasts longer on the field, remain active after using her Elemental Burst, and trigger extra lightning when all three turrets are placed.
- Meditations of a Yako (4th Ascension Passive): Elemental Mastery increases the damage dealt by Sesshou Sakura. Each 1000 points of Yae Miko’s Max HP converts a portion of EM into damage bonus for the turrets.
- Witch’s Revelation (Utility Passive): This passive buffs Stellar-Conduct teams significantly. It restores Elemental Energy, grants an Elemental Burst DMG bonus, gives team Electro and Stellar-Conduct DMG bonuses, and boosts Stellar-Conduct reaction CRIT DMG. This passive is why she is now considered nearly irreplaceable in Stellar-Conduct lineups.
- Crafting Passive: When crafting Character Talent Materials, Yae Miko has a chance to produce an extra Talent Material of the same region and rarity.
Best Yae Miko Build in Genshin Impact
Yae Miko now has two main builds. The newer Stellar-Conduct build is currently the meta option. The older general Electro build still works well in Aggravate and Hyperbloom teams.
Stellar-Conduct Build (Best in Meta)
This build focuses on maximizing her damage and buff output in Stellar-Conduct teams. It requires her to be paired with Cryo and Electro supports to keep the Polestar Field reaction active.
- Best Weapon: Kagura’s Verity
- Best Artifact Set: Disenchantment in Deep Shadows (4-piece)
- Sands Main Stat: ATK% (or EM if you have ATK buffers like Nicole)
- Goblet Main Stat: ATK% (Electro DMG% is not recommended in this build)
- Circlet Main Stat: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG
- Substat Priority: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG / ATK% / EM
General Electro Sub-DPS Build (Aggravate / Hyperbloom)
This is the original Yae Miko build. It still works well and is great for players who are not running Stellar-Conduct teams.
- Best Weapon: Kagura’s Verity
- Best Artifact Set: Golden Troupe (4-piece)
- Sands Main Stat: ATK% or Elemental Mastery
- Goblet Main Stat: Electro DMG%
- Circlet Main Stat: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG
- Substat Priority: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG / ATK% / EM
Best Weapons for Yae Miko
Here are the top weapon choices ranked by performance:
- Kagura’s Verity (5-star): Her signature weapon and the clear best-in-slot. It provides CRIT DMG and stacks Elemental Skill DMG every time she uses the skill. It was also buffed in 6.7 to include Stellar-Conduct DMG bonus, making it even more valuable now.
- Reliquary of Truth (5-star): A strong secondary option, roughly 6% behind Kagura’s Verity. It provides good stats and pairs well with the Stellar-Conduct build.
- Vivid Notions (5-star): Provides CRIT DMG and ATK. A decent stat stick that performs especially well in Stellar-Conduct teams.
- The Widsith (4-star): The best free-to-play option. Its passive gives massive temporary buffs on swap. It performs surprisingly close to 5-star options thanks to its strong burst damage windows.
- Gilded Dreams (4-star replacement weapon): If you have no 5-star catalysts, this is a solid filler while farming.
Best Artifacts for Yae Miko
Disenchantment in Deep Shadows (Stellar-Conduct Build)
This is the best artifact set for Yae Miko when she is used in Stellar-Conduct teams. The 4-piece bonus synergizes directly with the Polestar Field and boosts her Sesshou Sakura damage. ATK% substats are especially important here because Stellar-Conduct DMG scales heavily with ATK.
Golden Troupe (General Electro Build)
For non-Stellar-Conduct teams, Golden Troupe is her best set. The 4-piece bonus boosts Elemental Skill DMG by 25% when she is off-field, which is the main source of her damage. This set is universally useful and a safe choice for most players.
Gilded Dreams (Alternative)
If you do not have a good Disenchantment in Deep Shadows or Golden Troupe set, Gilded Dreams is a solid placeholder. It provides EM and ATK bonuses that work in multiple team types.
Yae Miko Best Teams in Genshin Impact
Here are the best teams to use with Yae Miko in 2026:
Stellar-Conduct Meta Team
Sandrone / Yae Miko / Escoffier / Qiqi
This is the current top meta team. Sandrone acts as the main DPS, Yae Miko provides consistent off-field Electro damage and buffs via her Witch’s Revelation passive, Escoffier offers Cryo application and buffs, and Qiqi sustains the team while triggering Stellar-Conduct. This lineup is considered one of the strongest in the game right now.
Budget Stellar-Conduct Team
Sandrone / Yae Miko / Alyosha / Cryo Traveler
A strong F2P-friendly option. Cryo Traveler can trigger the Stellar-Conduct reaction just like 5-star Cryo characters. Alyosha provides off-field Electro application to keep reactions flowing. This team performs well even without a 5-star Cryo support.
Aggravate Team
Yae Miko / Raiden Shogun / Nahida / Zhongli
For players without Cryo characters, the Aggravate team remains a strong pick. Nahida provides Dendro for the Quicken reaction, Raiden drives energy and Electro application, and Zhongli provides shielding. Yae Miko’s turrets deal boosted Aggravate damage in this setup.
Overload Team
Yae Miko / Raiden Shogun / Chevreuse / Bennett
A fun and effective team for breaking enemy shields and clearing groups of enemies. Chevreuse boosts Pyro and Electro characters, and Yae Miko’s consistent Electro application keeps the Overload reactions going.
Electrocharged Team
Yae Miko / Sangonomiya Kokomi / Raiden Shogun / Kaedehara Kazuha
A classic Taser team. Kokomi applies Hydro on-field, Yae Miko and Raiden deal Electro damage, and Kazuha swirls and groups enemies together. A consistent, safe team for most content.

Yae Miko Constellations Guide
Here is an honest look at each constellation and how much value it adds:
- C1 – Yakan Offering (Free / Must-Have): After triggering Superconduct or Stellar-Conduct, or dealing Stellar-Conduct DMG, Yae Miko and nearby party members gain a 50% Electro DMG and Stellar-Conduct DMG Bonus for 10 seconds. This buff refreshes constantly in active Stellar-Conduct teams. It is currently available for free through the “Temper Thyself and Journey Far” event. Worth roughly 15% team DPS in Stellar-Conduct teams — a massive buff for a single constellation.
- C2 – Fox’s Mooncall (Highly Recommended): Grants 200 Elemental Mastery to Yae Miko and the active character permanently. This buff scales with Skill level. It increases direct Stellar-Conduct damage and is worth roughly 12-13% team damage. Going from C0 to C2 alone can provide around 30% total team DPS improvement — one of the best early constellation jumps in the game.
- C3 – The Seven Glamours: Increases the talent level of her Elemental Skill. Unfortunately, this only affects her regular Electro hits, which are a smaller portion of her damage. Not very impactful.
- C4 – Sakura Channeling: Makes her Elemental Burst slightly less of a damage loss, but using the Burst is still generally not recommended in most builds. Minor upgrade.
- C5 – Mischievous Teasing: Increases the talent level of her Elemental Burst. Near negligible unless you are specifically building a Burst-heavy playstyle.
- C6 – Forbidden Art: Daisesshou: Her biggest personal damage constellation. Sesshou Sakura attacks ignore 60% of enemy DEF. In Stellar-Conduct teams, her Stellar-Conduct CRIT DMG gets an additional 200% increase. This is an enormous personal damage jump and makes her ceiling extremely high, though it is a large investment.
Investment priority: C1 → C2 → Kagura’s Verity → C6 (if you want maximum personal output).
Yae Miko Talent Priority
Here is the recommended order to level her talents:
- Elemental Skill (Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura): This is her most important talent. It directly affects how much damage her turrets deal. Always level this first.
- Elemental Burst (Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin): In Stellar-Conduct and Aggravate teams, leveling the Burst adds some extra damage from Tenko Thunderbolts and her passive triggers. Level this second.
- Normal Attack: Rarely used in combat and provides almost no benefit at higher levels. Save your talent books for the skill and burst first.
Yae Miko Ascension Materials
Here is a full list of everything you need to ascend Yae Miko to level 90:
Character Ascension Materials
- Vajrada Amethyst (Sliver, Fragment, Chunk, Gemstone) – Obtained by fighting Electro bosses like the Thunder Manifestation and Electro Regisvines. You can also use the Parametric Transformer or buy from Paimon’s Bargains.
- Dragonheir’s False Fin – Dropped by the Bathysmal Vishap Herd boss in Enkanomiya. You need 46 total for full ascension.
- Sea Ganoderma – A local specialty found across the islands of Inazuma, especially on Watatsumi Island. You need 168 total for all ascension phases.
- Handguards (Old, Kageuchi, Famed) – Dropped by Nobushi and Kairagi enemies found across Inazuma. You need both character ascension and talent quantities, so farm heavily.
Talent Ascension Materials
- Books of Light (Teachings, Guide, Philosophies) – Farmed from the Violet Court Domain in Inazuma on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Handguards – Same enemy drops as above. You need large quantities for each talent upgrade.
- The Meaning of Aeons – Dropped by the Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto weekly boss in Inazuma. You need 18 total to fully max all three talents.
- Crown of Insight – Required to bring a talent to level 10. Obtain from limited events, the Sacred Sakura’s Favor tree, or the Frostbearing Tree reward.
To max one talent from level 1 to 10, you need 3 Teachings, 21 Guides, 38 Philosophies, various Handguard tiers, 6 weekly boss materials, 1 Crown of Insight, and around 1,652,500 Mora. Multiply this by three for all talents.
How to Play Yae Miko – Rotation and Playstyle
Yae Miko is simple to play but rewards good timing. Here is the general rotation in a Stellar-Conduct team:
- Enter the fight and use Yae Miko’s Elemental Skill three times to place all three Sesshou Sakura turrets.
- Swap to your Cryo support and apply Cryo to activate Stellar-Conduct.
- Switch to your main DPS (like Sandrone) and deal damage while the turrets fire in the background.
- Once the turrets expire, swap back to Yae Miko and refresh them.
- Her Elemental Burst is generally optional. Use it only if you need to reset skill charges quickly or are ahead on energy.
In Aggravate teams, the rotation is similar, but you use Nahida to apply Dendro before swapping to Yae Miko for her turrets. The goal in every team is to keep her Sesshou Sakura active as much as possible.
Yae Miko in the Current Meta (Version 6.7)
Yae Miko received major buffs in Version 6.7 through the Witch’s Revelation system. These changes gave her a permanent role in Stellar-Conduct teams, a new reaction introduced alongside the Snezhnaya region update. She is now widely considered a near-irreplaceable second slot in Sandrone-centered Stellar-Conduct teams.
Her C1 constellation being available for free during the “Temper Thyself and Journey Far” event made her even more accessible. With C1 alone, she provides the whole team with a 50% Electro and Stellar-Conduct DMG Bonus — an incredible buff that is hard to replace.
Her banner last ran in Version 6.7 Phase 1, from July 1 to July 21, 2026. She shared the banner with Cyno, Wriothesley, Qiqi, and Yumemizuki Mizuki. Players who pulled her during this window got a great deal of value given her current state in the meta.
If you are exploring other Snezhnayan characters to pair with her, check out the full guide for Odette, who may challenge Yae Miko’s current second-slot dominance in future updates.
Yae Miko Lore and Story
Yae Miko, also known as Guuji Yae or simply “Miko,” has been present in Inazuma for centuries. As a kitsune descending from the Hakushin lineage, she serves the Electro Archon, Ei, as both a close companion and a faithful servant. Despite her light-hearted exterior, she carries the weight of long memory and genuine devotion to Inazuma’s people.
She runs the Yae Publishing House, a light novel publisher she manages with a sharp eye for profit and a soft spot for compelling stories. She is known for her wit, her love of mischief, and a cutting ability to read people. In private, she is blunter and more sincere than her public mask suggests.
She first appeared as an NPC in Version 2.0 and became playable in Version 2.5. Her character story quests reveal a deeper side to her relationship with Ei and her long history as keeper of the shrine. She loves fried tofu and has an intense dislike of pickled foods — a small but beloved detail among the fanbase.
Her English voice is provided by Ratana, while Sakura Ayane voices her in Japanese. Her true fox form is a pink fox with sakura petal motifs — a rare sight she refuses to show the Traveler.
Yae Miko Story Quests and Events
Yae Miko has her own Story Quest titled Astute Amusement. You can also find her in the Inazuma main questline during the Archon Quests in Version 2.0 and beyond. She plays a pivotal role in the final resolution of Inazuma’s Sakoku Decree arc, working alongside the Traveler and Raiden Shogun.
For players exploring the broader Snezhnayan content and looking for more quests in the current version, check the full list of In the Tranquility of Cycles quest guide and other Snezhnaya storyline walkthroughs on the site.
Is Yae Miko Worth Pulling in Genshin Impact?
Yes — especially right now. Her Version 6.7 buffs put her in the strongest position she has ever been. If you are building a Stellar-Conduct team, she is the best second-slot character available. Her C1 is free, which means you can get a large portion of her power for no Primogems at all.
At C0, she is already a complete and self-sufficient off-field Electro Sub-DPS. You can use her in Aggravate, Hyperbloom, Overload, and Electrocharged teams without any constellations. She has flexible build options and works in a wide range of content, including the Spiral Abyss and combat challenges.
For players who like the Inazuma aesthetic and want a highly capable off-field unit with buffing potential, Yae Miko is one of the best long-term investments you can make. She is available in Genshin Impact whenever she appears on her rerun banner.
