The island doesn’t even show on your map until you go through the right route. This guide covers exactly how to get there, step by step.

What Is Sunreach Island In Palworld

Sunreach, also called the Sky Islands, is a late-game floating region made up of several islands scattered across the sky. It is one of the largest new areas added to Palworld from an exploration standpoint, second only to the World Tree.

Instead of one connected landmass, it is made up of several sky islands linked through altars and traversal mechanics, giving exploration a very different feel from the rest of the map.

Sunreach is a late-game region, so before heading there, you should spend some time upgrading your gear and combat Pals. The region features strong enemies, Alpha Pals around level 65–70, new bosses, and a resource used for endgame crafting.

You can play Palworld on Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam. The steps to reach Sunreach are the same across all platforms.

How To Reach Sunreach Island In Palworld – Step By Step

There are two ways to get to Sunreach Island. The proper story route is through the Feybreak Tower portal. The second method is flying up manually with a high-stamina Pal — but that skips unlocking the region properly. Let’s start with the correct method.

Step 1 – Go To Feybreak Tower

Travel to the Feybreak Tower at coordinates -1294, -1669 on the southern edge of Feybreak Island. Bring cold-resistant armor and accessories for the approach.

The Feybreak Tower area has extreme cold. Equip appropriate cold-resistance gear before making the trip or you risk taking constant environmental damage on the way to the boss.

Stock up before you go. Bring plenty of food, healing items, and Pal Spheres. You will need them for the boss and for exploring afterward.

Step 2 – Defeat Bjorn and Bastigor

Bjorn and Bastigor are a Level 60 tower boss duo. Go in at level 58 or higher, bring your strongest Pals, and avoid starting the climb without cold-resistant armor and accessories.

Here are some quick tips for this fight:

• Make sure your character and Pals are at least level 60.
• Focus on Fire damage — Bastigor is an Ice-type Pal, so Fire Pals and weapons will be especially useful.
• Keep swapping out Pals before they go down completely to preserve your team’s health throughout the fight.
• Bring your best combat weapons, not exploration gear. This is a boss fight, not a regular zone.

Step 3 – Use The Altar At The Top Of Feybreak Tower

After you defeat the Feybreak Tower boss, you’ll get transported to the top of the tower, as you always do. This time, however, you will see an altar that you can interact with. Interacting with the altar will lead you to a loading screen.

When you interact with it, it will ask if you want to use the portal to travel to another location. Approve the choice, and wait for a few seconds for the next area to load. When the load is complete, you’ll find yourself in Sunreach Island.

Already beaten Bjorn and Bastigor before 1.0 launched? Mount a flying Pal next to the tower and land on top of Feybreak Tower, where the altar awaits. You do not need to defeat the boss again, since your old clear still counts toward the unlock. Stay close to the tower during that flight — straying too far puts you in range of Feybreak’s anti-air turrets.

Step 4 – Arrive In Sunreach And Start Exploring

Once the loading is complete, you’ll find yourself in a new area. If this is your first time in Sunreach, then the map will be covered by a fog of war. In front of you, you’ll find a Sunreach Citizen, which you should talk to if you want to get a new quest.

Before going ahead and exploring the rest of Sunreach, make sure to take a quick trip to the Sunreach Watchtower to the southwest. The Watchtower will remove the clouds on the map, allowing you to get a better view of the floating island.

Also make sure you grab the Soralite ore scattered around Sunreach — it’s the key endgame crafting resource found in this region.

How To Fly To Sunreach In Palworld (Alternative Method)

The other method to get up to Sunreach, regardless of story progress, is more of a DIY approach — fly up to the floating archipelago yourself. You’ll need a formidable flying Pal with enough stamina, such as Jetragon or Suzaku, and a crafted saddle to ride them. Ride them manually up to Sunreach from a safe and close launch point, preferably somewhere on the southeast side of Feybreak Island.

The lowest ground in Sunreach, which is around the middle area, is around 350m above sea level. So your Pal needs to be able to reach that height. You need either a fast Pal, a Pal with a ton of Stamina, or both.

The story gate cannot be bypassed with a flying mount or the Wing Pack. The Wing Pack recipe unlocks at level 80.

So flying up is possible, but you will still need to go back through the portal properly to register the region on your map. Think of flying as an option for players who somehow missed the altar after clearing the boss.

How To Travel Between Islands In Sunreach

Sunreach is not one big island. It is several floating islands spread out across the sky. Getting around requires a bit of planning.

There are several floating purple orbs in the islands that will teleport you to a random location when you get close to them. If you do not have a flying mount, you can use these altars to teleport from one island to another.

On the other hand, you may interact with large pink buds, which shower you with powder that temporarily reduces the effects of gravity on your character while you’re in Sunreach.

The cleanest way to travel between islands is still a good flying Pal. Summon your preferred flying Pal, such as Jetragon, to traverse between the islands easily.

What To Do In Sunreach – Disable The Defense Modules

Once you’re inside Sunreach and have cleared the fog from the map, your next big objective is taking down the central tower boss. But you can’t just walk in.

A whirlwind surrounds the central tower and blocks access. To reach Auri and Shaolong, you first have to disable the six Defense Modules scattered across the islands, which shuts down that whirlwind. Only then can you enter and take on the boss.

After you arrive in Sunreach, the Defense Modules are marked on the map and guide the player through the region. Disable all modules to remove the tower’s protection and gain access to the boss fight.

In multiplayer, every player must do this themselves.

The Sunreach Tower Boss – Auri and Shaolong

Inside the central tower waits the Level 68 tower boss Auri and Shaolong — the eighth and final standard tower, and the gate to the World Tree endgame.

Expect enemies and spawns of Level 60 and above throughout the whole region, so arrive geared and near the cap.
