Qingque Build Guide – Honkai Star Rail 4.3

    By Mark Smith · February 16, 2026 · Updated June 8, 2026 · 19 min read
    Qingque

Qingque is one of the most unique and deceptively powerful 4-star characters in Honkai Star Rail — a librarian of the Xianzhou Luofu’s Divination Commission who would much rather be playing mahjong. Her tile-drawing mechanic makes her unlike any other DPS in the game, and with the right team and investment she becomes a formidable Quantum hypercarry capable of enormous single-turn Blast damage. In patch 4.3, she remains a strong F2P DPS option with a very high ceiling. This Qingque build guide covers everything — best Light Cones, Relics, stat priorities, team compositions, and Eidolons — to get the most out of her in the current patch.

    Qingque

Who Is Qingque in Honkai Star Rail?

Qingque is a 4-star character following the Path of Erudition with the Quantum element. She is a junior archivist at the Divination Commission on Xianzhou Luofu — a role she approaches with exactly as much enthusiasm as she brings to her recreational mahjong games, which is to say she would rather be playing mahjong. She is obtainable for free from the Forgotten Hall rewards and is a standard banner character.

On the battlefield, Qingque is a self-sufficient hypercarry built around stacking DMG% buffs through her Skill and then unleashing them in a single explosive Enhanced Basic ATK. Each Skill use draws 2 jade tiles and grants +28% DMG for 1 turn (stacking up to 4 times). When she holds 4 matching tiles, she enters Hidden Hand state — gaining +72% ATK and unlocking her Enhanced Basic ATK Cherry on Top!, which deals massive Quantum Blast DMG to the main target and adjacent enemies. The RNG tile-matching mechanic makes the Hidden Hand state unreliable without the Ultimate, but her Ultimate guarantees a matching set of 4 tiles instantly — making it a safety valve rather than a damage tool.

StarGuide’s overview is accurate and sharp: her own self-buffs at max stacks (72% ATK + up to 152% DMG%) are so enormous that external DMG% buffs provide diminishing returns. Instead, she needs CRIT stats, DEF ignore, and action advance from her team. She is extremely SP and Energy hungry, requires specific team support to function optimally, and is not suitable for auto-battle. But in a proper hyperspeed setup, her Enhanced Basic ATK hits hit for some of the highest single-action damage available from a 4-star character.

    Understanding Qingque’s Tile Mechanic

Before building Qingque, understanding her tile system is essential:

    • She holds up to 4 jade tiles at once, drawn from 3 suits (Bamboo, Circle, Character)
    • When any ally starts their turn, Qingque draws 1 random tile
    • Using her Skill draws 2 additional tiles and grants +28% DMG for 1 turn, stacking up to 4 times
    • If Qingque starts her turn with 4 matching tiles, she enters Hidden Hand state automatically, gaining +72% ATK and unlocking the Enhanced Basic
    • Her Ultimate instantly converts all tiles in hand to a matching set — bypassing the RNG entirely and guaranteeing Hidden Hand
    • Skill uses are Extra Actions — they do not end Qingque’s turn. She can chain up to 4 Skills and then use Basic ATK or Ultimate in the same action, with all stacked DMG% bonuses applying to the final attack
    • Skills generate 0 Energy. Only Basic ATK (20 Energy) and Enhanced Basic ATK (20 Energy) charge her 140-cost Ultimate, making Energy cycling extremely slow without external help

The practical result: Qingque wants to use 4 Skills to stack the full 112% DMG bonus (or 152% with A4 Trace), then fire the Enhanced Basic ATK while in Hidden Hand state for maximum damage. Her Ultimate guarantees this state whenever needed, but it costs 140 Energy to activate — a very high cost that makes Energy support from teammates nearly mandatory.

    Qingque Skills and Abilities

    Basic ATK – Flower Pick

Tosses one jade tile of the suit with the fewest tiles in hand, dealing Quantum DMG to a single enemy equal to a percentage of Qingque’s ATK. This is Qingque’s filler action. It generates 20 Energy — the primary way she charges her Ultimate outside of the Enhanced Basic ATK. In a standard rotation, Basic ATK is used when SP is low or when the team cannot afford another Skill use.

Enhanced Basic ATK – Cherry on Top!

Only available in Hidden Hand state. Deals Quantum Blast DMG to a single enemy equal to up to 240% ATK and Quantum DMG to adjacent enemies equal to 100% ATK. Does not recover SP. Generates 20 Energy. This is Qingque’s payoff action — everything in her kit builds toward this hit. All Skill-based DMG% buffs (up to 152% at max), the 72% ATK from Hidden Hand, and all external buffs from teammates apply simultaneously to this single massive attack.

Skill – A Scoop of Moon

Draws 2 jade tiles and increases Qingque’s DMG by 28% for 1 turn, stacking up to 4 times. Using the Skill is an Extra Action — her turn does not end. This is the core loop action: spam it to build stacks, then fire the Enhanced Basic ATK at max buffs. At E6, using the Skill after reaching 4 matching tiles will refund 1 SP via the passive after the Enhanced Basic fires.

    Ultimate – A Quartet? Woo-hoo!

Transforms all tiles in hand to a matching set, granting Hidden Hand state immediately. Deals Quantum Blast DMG to the primary target equal to a percentage of ATK and to adjacent enemies. Costs 140 Energy — the highest cost of any skill in her kit. It is not primarily a damage tool. It is a guaranteed Hidden Hand trigger used when the RNG has not cooperated or when an important burst window needs to be forced. After using the Ultimate, the subsequent Enhanced Basic ATK carries all accumulated Skill DMG% stacks.

    Talent – Tile Battle

When entering Hidden Hand state and using Enhanced Basic ATK, Qingque has a chance to immediately use Skill once without it costing SP. This refund chance is the precursor to E6’s guaranteed recovery — at base, it is a random bonus. At E6, this becomes guaranteed after each Enhanced Basic ATK, solving her SP economy entirely.

    Technique – Shuffle ‘Em Up

After using the Technique, Qingque draws 2 jade tiles at the start of the next battle. This gives her a head start on matching 4 tiles before the first turn — particularly useful for forcing an earlier first Hidden Hand state and reducing how many Skills she needs on turn one.

    Major Traces

    • A2 – All In: After using the Ultimate, Qingque immediately takes action. This action advance ensures she acts right after her Ultimate fires — meaning the Enhanced Basic ATK from Hidden Hand fires immediately while all Skill DMG% stacks are still active, and before any buffs from Sparkle or Sunday expire. A critical trace that tightens her burst window
    • A4 – Bide Time: When Qingque has 4 matching tiles at the start of her turn, her DMG increases by an additional 40%. This bonus stacks on top of all Skill-based buffs — bringing the total DMG% bonus at 4 Skill stacks to 152%. This trace is unlocked at level 60 and is critical for her full potential. Performance before A4 is noticeably weaker. Never pull Qingque comparisons from builds without this trace
    • A6 – Winning Streak: After Qingque uses Enhanced Basic ATK, she immediately draws 2 jade tiles. This helps set up the next Hidden Hand state faster and provides more consistency in her tile management across multiple rotation cycles

    Qingque Best Light Cones (4.3)

    1. Yet Hope Is Priceless (Best in Slot)

Jade‘s signature Light Cone and Qingque’s best-in-slot option. It provides +16% CRIT Rate at S1 — a stat she desperately needs to reach the 70% threshold — plus DEF ignore on Ultimate and follow-up attacks, and stacking follow-up DMG% from excess CRIT DMG. StarGuide notes the CRIT Rate alone frees up significant relic substat pressure, allowing more flexibility when rolling for other stats. The DEF ignore is a multiplicative damage bonus that compounds with her enormous self-buffs. A complete package for her kit.

    2. Before Dawn (Consistent Premium)

Provides +36% CRIT DMG and boosts Skill DMG, Ultimate DMG, and includes a Somnus Corpus follow-up after Skill and Ultimate use. The follow-up synergises particularly well with E4 — triggering both the E4 copy and the Somnus Corpus follow-up in the same rotation creates a large damage spike. StarGuide rates this as a consistent premium option that performs well across all modes without conditional requirements. An excellent choice for players who already own it from Jing Yuan or other Erudition DPS characters.

    3. Night on the Milky Way (Multi-Target Specialist)

Stacks ATK% up to 5 times based on the number of enemies on the field, plus 30% DMG boost on Weakness Break. Strong in Pure Fiction and multi-target Memory of Chaos stages where 3–5 enemies are consistently present. StarGuide warns performance drops significantly in single-target content — only use when multi-target fighting is consistent.

    4. Geniuses’ Repose (Best 4-Star)

At S5, provides +32% ATK and +48% CRIT DMG after defeating an enemy for 3 turns. StarGuide rates this as the best 4-star budget option. The kill condition is excellent in Pure Fiction wave content but weaker in boss-only single-target fights. If Qingque is your primary DPS in wave-clearing content, Geniuses’ Repose at S5 is a competitive choice. Accumulate duplicates over time through the standard banner.

    5. Today Is Another Peaceful Day (4-Star – Battle Pass)

Converts Max Energy into a DMG% bonus. At Qingque’s 140 Energy cap — the highest in the game — this provides a large flat DMG% increase to all attacks. Zilliongamer and several sources list this as her signature 4-star cone in terms of thematic fit. A solid battle pass investment for Qingque players.

    Qingque Best Relic Sets (4.3)

Poet of Mourning Collapse (4-Piece) – Best with Action-Advance Teams

The recommended relic set for Qingque in hyperspeed action-advance compositions. The 2-piece gives +10% Quantum DMG. The 4-piece provides CRIT Rate bonuses based on SPD: +8% CRIT Rate at SPD ≤ 95, scaling up to +28% CRIT Rate at SPD ≤ 95 before the first action. Since Qingque is played with a hyperspeed action advancer (Sparkle at 135 SPD or Bronya at 134 SPD) and her own SPD stays at base 98 or below, she consistently qualifies for the full CRIT Rate bonus. The combination of ATK% boots (not SPD boots) and the Poet set creates a powerful synergy: low SPD for maximum CRIT Rate from the set, high action frequency from external action advance. Lootbar and Pocket Tactics both recommend this as her top set in modern teams.

Genius of Brilliant Stars (4-Piece) – Best in Mono-Quantum Teams

The classic Quantum relic set. The 2-piece gives +10% Quantum DMG. The 4-piece causes Qingque’s attacks to ignore 10% of the enemy’s DEF — and if the target has Quantum Weakness, she ignores an additional 10% DEF for 20% total DEF ignore. In Mono-Quantum teams with Silver Wolf implanting Quantum Weakness, this 20% DEF ignore activates on every attack. DEF ignore is a multiplicative damage bonus that stacks powerfully with her enormous internal DMG% and ATK bonuses. Recommended for teams specifically built around Silver Wolf.

Scholar Lost in Erudition (2) + Poet of Mourning Collapse (2)

A transitional combination providing +8% CRIT Rate (Scholar) and +10% Quantum DMG (Poet). Clean and conditional-free at the 2-piece level. Use this while farming for a complete 4-piece set with good substats.

    Qingque Best Planar Ornaments (4.3)

    Rutilant Arena (Best Overall)

The recommended Planar Ornament for Qingque across sources including StarGuide and Pocket Tactics. It provides +8% CRIT Rate and, when CRIT Rate reaches 70% or higher, increases Basic ATK and Skill DMG by 20%. In Qingque’s case, the 20% bonus applies to her Enhanced Basic ATK — her primary damage action. With Poet of Mourning Collapse providing up to +28% CRIT Rate from the set and Rutilant’s +8%, reaching 70% CRIT Rate total is very achievable. The conditional is then active for her most important hit every rotation.

    Space Sealing Station (ATK Alternative)

Provides +12% ATK with an additional +12% when SPD is 120 or higher. If running ATK% boots and relying on Poet’s CRIT Rate bonus, Qingque’s SPD may be near 98 without reaching 120 — making only the base +12% apply. Use this set if you need the ATK padding to reach the 2,500 ATK target and have better-statted Space Sealing pieces than Rutilant pieces.

Qingque Best Stats and Substats (4.3)

    Main Stats

    • Body: CRIT Rate (priority over CRIT DMG given how much CRIT Rate she needs)
    • Boots: ATK% (do not use SPD boots in action-advance setups — keeping SPD low activates Poet’s CRIT Rate bonus)
    • Planar Sphere (Orb): Quantum DMG Boost
    • Link Rope: ATK%

    Substat Priority

    • CRIT Rate (aim for 70%+ total — essential for triggering Rutilant Arena and her biggest hit critting reliably)
    • CRIT DMG (aim for 130–150%)
    • ATK% and Flat ATK (aim for 2,500+ ATK in combat)
    • Effect Hit Rate (minor — helps Quantum Weakness Break land more reliably)

The most counterintuitive aspect of building Qingque: do not build SPD. In action-advance compositions, keeping her SPD at or near base allows the Poet of Mourning Collapse 4-piece to grant its maximum CRIT Rate bonus. Building SPD would lose that CRIT Rate and give diminishing returns since the action advancer provides her turns anyway. This is the opposite of most DPS characters — Qingque wants to be slow and let Sparkle or Bronya move her.

StarGuide also notes: her own self-buffs (72% ATK + 152% DMG%) are so large that external DMG% buffs provide diminishing returns due to additive stacking. Prioritise CRIT stats, DEF ignore, and action advance over generic DMG% supporters. Robin’s ATK% buff is more valuable than her DMG% buff for Qingque specifically.

    Qingque Best Team Compositions (4.3)

Best Team: Qingque, Sparkle, Tribbie, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae

The strongest Qingque team in 4.3 according to StarGuide. Sparkle at 135 SPD is the hyperspeed action advancer — she provides consecutive turns for Qingque through action advance, generates SP to fuel the 4-Skill rotation, and adds CRIT DMG buffs that compound cleanly with Qingque’s CRIT-heavy build. Tribbie provides universal RES PEN and AoE follow-up damage that is not additive with Qingque’s own DMG% — making it a multiplicative multiplier rather than diminishing returns. Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae provides shields (increasing survivability), ATK buffs from his unique mechanics, and the Quantum element alignment that passively benefits Qingque’s damage profile. A complete and synergistic team.

Strong Alternative: Qingque, Sunday, Tribbie, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae

Sunday replaces Sparkle as the action advancer. His Beatification action advance also provides CRIT DMG buffs and Energy Regeneration, which helps Qingque’s slow 140-Energy Ultimate cycle. The Energy support is particularly valuable since Sparkle does not provide it. StarGuide rates this team at A-tier, slightly below the Sparkle composition but very strong.

Classic Setup: Qingque, Bronya, Tingyun, Fu Xuan

The original Qingque team from early patches and still fully functional. Bronya at 134 SPD provides the action advance and DMG% buffs. Tingyun adds ATK% and — critically — Energy Regeneration to help Qingque reach her 140-cost Ultimate faster. Fu Xuan sustains with her HP matrix while contributing Quantum element synergy. An accessible team for players without the newest supports.

Mono-Quantum: Qingque, Sparkle, Silver Wolf, Fu Xuan

The Mono-Quantum composition. Silver Wolf implants Quantum Weakness on any enemy, enabling the Genius of Brilliant Stars 4-piece’s full 20% DEF ignore for every single attack. She also provides DEF shred (a different multiplier that stacks multiplicatively with DEF ignore) and adds a third debuff for Pioneer Diver threshold if needed. Fu Xuan sustains. Sparkle provides action advance and has a bonus CRIT DMG trace that specifically activates in Quantum character teams. A powerful team for content where the Genius set’s DEF ignore significantly amplifies damage.

Characters Who Work Best With Qingque

    • Sparkle – Best partner; hyperspeed action advance, SP generation, and CRIT DMG buff in Quantum teams
    • Sunday – Strong action advancer with Energy Regen that helps the 140-cost Ultimate
    • Tribbie – Multiplicative RES PEN and AoE follow-up; not additive with her DMG% self-buffs
    • Bronya – Classic hyperspeed advancer; still solid and more accessible
    • Silver Wolf – Quantum Weakness implant; enables full Genius set 20% DEF ignore universally
    • Tingyun – ATK% buff and Energy Regen; helps charge the 140-cost Ultimate meaningfully
    • Fu Xuan – Quantum sustain with HP matrix; passive CRIT Rate and Quantum alignment
    • Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae – Shields, ATK buffs, Quantum synergy, and strong sustain in the new era
    • Huohuo – Energy Regen sustain; helps the 140-cost Ultimate cycle; good alternative to Fu Xuan

Qingque Eidolons – Are They Worth It?

Qingque’s Eidolons are transformative — more so than almost any other 4-star character. StarGuide’s investment priority is explicit: chase E6 above everything else, including her Light Cone.

E1 – Rise through the Tiles

The Ultimate deals 10% more DMG. A minor boost to an ability that is primarily a tile-matching tool rather than a damage action. The least impactful Eidolon in her kit — still worth having but do not specifically target it.

E2 – Sleep on the Tiles

If Qingque’s turn ends without having used Enhanced Basic ATK, she gains 1 Skill Point. This provides a SP refund in situations where she fails to enter Hidden Hand state — partially addressing the SP drain when RNG is unfavourable. A quality-of-life improvement but the specific condition (failing to enter Hidden Hand) means it is situational rather than reliable.

    E4 – Winning Streak

StarGuide rates this as the second investment priority. When the Talent triggers the free Skill, there is now a 24% chance per Skill use to fire a follow-up attack that copies the Enhanced Basic ATK’s DMG. With 4 Skill uses per rotation, this meaningfully boosts average DPS and scales with all the accumulated DMG% buffs — the follow-up fires with the same enormous self-buff stack as the main hit. It also synergises with Before Dawn’s Somnus Corpus follow-up for stacked burst windows. A genuine DPS upgrade once E6 is secured.

    E6 – Tile Frenzy

After using Enhanced Basic ATK, Qingque immediately recovers 1 Skill Point. StarGuide is emphatic: this is her single most important Eidolon and should be the first investment target. Without E6, every Enhanced Basic ATK creates a SP debt — the 4 Skills used to stack buffs cost 4 SP, but the Enhanced Basic ATK restores none of them. Over multiple rotations, this SP drain becomes a severe burden on the whole team. E6 transforms Qingque from a team SP drain into a sustainable hypercarry whose rotation is SP-neutral. It is the reason Qingque can function without Sparkle’s SP generation in some less-optimal setups. Pull for this actively if you are committed to building Qingque.

Recommended investment order: E6 first, then E4, then Light Cone upgrade. E0 Qingque is usable but SP-hungry. E6 fundamentally changes the character’s viability and should be the priority investment for any Qingque main.

    Qingque Rotation Guide

Qingque’s rotation requires active management and cannot be played on auto-battle. Here is the standard approach:

    1. Use the Technique before every combat — draws 2 tiles at battle start, giving a head start toward matching 4 tiles
    2. On Qingque’s first turn, check whether the Technique plus natural ally-start draws have produced matching tiles. If 4 matching tiles are present, fire the Enhanced Basic ATK immediately
    3. If not matching: use Skill up to 4 times (drawing 2 tiles each use) to stack DMG% buffs and accumulate matching tiles. Each Skill is an Extra Action — her turn does not end until she uses Basic ATK or Ultimate
    4. If RNG still has not matched tiles after 4 Skills: use the Ultimate to guarantee Hidden Hand, then fire the Enhanced Basic ATK with all 4 DMG% stacks still active (the A2 Trace’s action advance fires immediately after the Ultimate)
    5. If tiles matched after 2–3 Skills: you have a choice — fire Enhanced Basic now (fewer DMG% stacks but SP saved) or risk 1–2 more Skills for higher buffs. The optimal play depends on SP budget; with E6 and Sparkle, max stacks every rotation is sustainable
    6. After the Enhanced Basic fires, use Sparkle or Sunday‘s action advance to return to Qingque and start the next cycle
    7. Prioritise using Tingyun‘s Benediction before Qingque’s major attack window for the ATK and Energy bonus

The golden discipline: time the Ultimate as a safety valve, not as a damage cooldown. It costs 140 Energy, which is very expensive. Save it for turns where RNG has failed after 4 Skills, not as a regular rotation piece every turn.

    Qingque Ascension Materials

    • Credits: 246,400
    • Ascension materials: Immortal Scionette, Immortal Aeroblossom, Immortal Lumintwig (Xianzhou Luofu drops) and Nail of the Beast Coffin (Stagnant Shadow)
    • Trace materials: Key of Insight, Key of Wisdom, Key of Knowledge (from Bud of Erudition Calyx on Herta’s Space Station) and Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster
    • Boss material: Nail of the Beast Coffin from the Stagnant Shadow domain

Is Qingque Worth Using in Patch 4.3?

Yes — with the right investment and team, Qingque is genuinely strong in 4.3. Her peak damage windows rival premium 5-star DPS characters in single-turn output. The combination of 72% ATK + 152% DMG% self-buffs applied to a Blast-AoE Enhanced Basic ATK is one of the highest concentrated single-action multipliers available from a 4-star character. She competes seriously in Memory of Chaos content where action-advance hyperspeed setups shine.

The honest requirements are also real. She needs E6 to be sustainable — without it, she is a SP drain that burdens every team she enters. She needs a dedicated hyperspeed action advancer to stay at low SPD for Poet’s CRIT Rate. She needs Energy support to cycle her 140-cost Ultimate. And she requires active manual play to manage tile RNG correctly. StarGuide’s note is apt: she is not suitable for auto-battle.

For players willing to invest in E6 and learn her rotation, Qingque is one of the most rewarding 4-star characters to master in 4.3. For players who want a straightforward free DPS, she requires more infrastructure than most alternatives.
