Who Is Jade in Honkai Star Rail?

Jade is a 5-star character following the Path of Erudition with the Quantum element. She is a senior manager in the IPC Strategic Investment Department and one of the legendary Ten Stonehearts of the Intelligentsia Guild. Her Cornerstone is “Jade of Credit” — and that cold, calculating philosophy extends directly into her combat style.

On the battlefield, Jade is the premier AoE follow-up attack DPS in Honkai Star Rail. Her kit revolves around two interlocking systems. First, the Debt Collector buff — applied to an ally via her Skill — which adds a SPD boost and causes that ally’s attacks to generate Charge stacks for Jade and deal additional Quantum DMG. Second, the Pawned Asset ramp — stacks that Jade accumulates over the fight, each one increasing her CRIT DMG. At 50 stacks, she reaches her peak damage ceiling.

Jade is not a traditional hypercarry. She requires enemies on the field to generate Charge fast, which is why she is extraordinary in Pure Fiction and decent in multi-target Memory of Chaos, but limited in pure single-target boss fights without her E1.

Jade Skills and Abilities

Basic ATK – Lash of Riches

Deals Quantum DMG to a single target and adjacent enemies. Rarely used in practice once you have a Debt Collector on the field. It does contribute Charge stacks, so use it if you have no Skill Points and need to keep the rotation going.

Skill – Acquisition Surety

Designates a single ally as the Debt Collector for 3 turns. While they hold this status, their SPD increases by 30, and every time they attack, Jade gains additional Quantum DMG instances on each enemy hit and consumes 2% of the Debt Collector’s Max HP. The ally cannot be reduced below 1 HP by this drain. If Jade herself becomes the Debt Collector, she does not get the SPD boost and does not lose HP. Jade cannot reuse her Skill while the Debt Collector status is active.

Ultimate – Vow of the Deep

Deals Quantum AoE DMG to all enemies and enhances the next 2 follow-up attacks from her Talent, increasing their DMG multiplier. Use this to power up your burst windows. Costs 140 Energy.

Talent – Fang of Flare Flaying

The core of Jade’s kit. After Jade or the Debt Collector attacks, Jade gains 1 Charge per enemy hit. At 8 Charge stacks, she consumes them all to launch a follow-up attack dealing Quantum AoE DMG to all enemies. Each time this follow-up fires, she immediately gains 5 stacks of Pawned Asset, each increasing her CRIT DMG. Pawned Asset stacks up to 50 times, making her damage scale significantly over a long fight.

Technique – Visionary Predation

Always use this before entering combat. It afflicts nearby enemies so they cannot initiate attacks, pulls all Blind Fealty enemies into battle simultaneously, deals AoE Quantum DMG, and immediately grants Jade 15 stacks of Pawned Asset. This head start on stacks is crucial — it jump-starts her CRIT DMG ramp from the very first turn.

Major Traces

Reverse Repo (A2): When an enemy enters combat, Jade gains 1 Pawned Asset stack. When the Debt Collector’s turn starts, Jade gains 3 additional stacks. Fast-acting Debt Collectors generate stacks rapidly — another reason to pick high-SPD allies for this role
Collateral Ticket (A4): At battle start, Jade’s action is advanced forward by 50%. This almost guarantees she acts first, allowing her to activate the Debt Collector buff before anyone else moves
Asset Forfeiture (A6): Each Pawned Asset stack also increases Jade’s ATK by 0.5%. At 50 stacks, that is a 25% ATK bonus on top of all other buffs — a meaningful damage increase in sustained fights

Jade Best Light Cones (4.3)

1. Yet Hope Is Priceless (Signature – Best in Slot)

Jade’s dedicated signature Light Cone and her strongest option in 4.3. It provides a large CRIT Rate boost and significantly amplifies follow-up attack DMG, which is the heart of her kit. It also provides DEF ignore that synergises with her damage profile. If you are investing heavily in Jade, this is the Light Cone to pull for.

2. Before Dawn (Excellent Alternative)

An excellent second-best option. It boosts CRIT DMG and gives significant follow-up attack and Ultimate DMG bonuses. Very easy to use effectively on Jade given how frequently her Talent fires. A strong choice if you already have it from pulling for Jing Yuan previously.

3. Night on the Milky Way (Pure Fiction Specialist)

Himeko’s signature Light Cone is excellent in Pure Fiction specifically, where you will consistently hit three or more targets to maintain its stacking ATK buff. Outside multi-target content the stacks are harder to maintain, which makes this a situational but very powerful pick for players who focus on Pure Fiction.

4. Eternal Calculus (Best F2P Option)

Available from Herta’s Store for free with currency earned from the Simulated Universe. It provides an ATK buff that stacks when hitting multiple enemies, which is easy to maintain with Jade’s AoE follow-ups. A solid option that competes with 4-star alternatives without requiring gacha pulls.

5. Geniuses’ Repose (4-Star Alternative)

A good 4-star fallback. It gives ATK% and increases CRIT DMG after defeating an enemy, which Jade triggers often in multi-wave content. Easy to superimpose via the Light Cone banner. Use it if you have neither of the stronger options above.

Jade Best Relic Sets (4.3)

The Ashblazing Grand Duke (4-Piece) – Best in Slot vs Non-Quantum Weak

The top relic choice for Jade in most scenarios. The 4-piece bonus ramps ATK% as the follow-up attack fires multiple times — and since Jade’s Talent triggers this frequently, she consistently benefits from the full stack. This set performs better than the Quantum set against enemies that are not Quantum-weak, making it the safer all-round investment.

Genius of Brilliant Stars (4-Piece) – Best vs Quantum-Weak Enemies

The premier Quantum relic set. The 2-piece gives +10% Quantum DMG, and the 4-piece allows Jade to ignore up to 20% of the target’s DEF when attacking Quantum-weak enemies (or always at E6). If you are running Jade alongside Silver Wolf who implants Quantum Weakness, this set can edge ahead of Ashblazing in those specific matchups.

2-Piece Mix Options

If you cannot get a clean 4-piece set with strong substats, mixing 2-piece Ashblazing + 2-piece Genius is a reasonable temporary setup. You lose the strong 4-piece conditional bonuses but still gain the flat Quantum DMG and ATK bonuses from each 2-piece.

Jade Best Planar Ornaments (4.3)

Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves (Best)

The definitive Planar Ornament for Jade. It stacks up to 5 times when follow-up attacks are used, increasing overall DMG. At 5 stacks, it also provides a CRIT DMG bonus. Since Jade fires her Talent follow-up very frequently, she reaches max stacks quickly and keeps them up for nearly the entire fight. This is the ornament to farm for Jade in 4.3.

Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm (Alternative)

A strong alternative for teams that include other Erudition characters. It provides a CRIT Rate boost when two or more Erudition characters are in the party. Works well in teams built around The Herta. Use this if your Duran pieces have poor substats and you have better Izumo pieces available.

The classic 1:2 CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG ratio applies here. Jade already has a large CRIT DMG bonus from Pawned Asset stacks and her minor traces (+22.4% Quantum DMG, +18% ATK from traces), so you should not neglect CRIT Rate. Aim for at least 60% CRIT Rate from gear before you start over-investing in CRIT DMG.

Jade Best Team Compositions (4.3)

Best Team: The Herta, Jade, Robin, Lingsha

This is the strongest team for Jade in 4.3. The Herta is an exceptional Debt Collector partner — her frequent AoE attacks hit multiple enemies per action, generating massive Charge for Jade at speed. Robin provides action advance and DMG amplification that boosts both DPS characters simultaneously. Lingsha is a natural sustain pick here — her AoE Skill attacks also contribute Charge stacks as the Debt Collector, making her one of the best sustain options for Jade specifically.

Strong Alternative: Jade, Tribbie, Sunday, Lingsha

Tribbie offers strong damage amplification for AoE content. Sunday accelerates Jade’s turns via action advance and energy support, letting her cycle her Ultimate more frequently. Lingsha continues as sustain. A solid team for players who do not have The Herta.

Pure Fiction Specialist: Jade, Herta, Ruan Mei, Gallagher

Herta generates follow-up attacks constantly in Pure Fiction whenever enemies are above 50% HP, creating an almost constant stream of Charge for Jade. Ruan Mei amplifies Jade’s DMG and extends Weakness Break. Gallagher handles sustain cleanly. This team absolutely tears through Pure Fiction waves.

Quantum DEF Shred Team: Jade, Silver Wolf, Robin, Fu Xuan

Silver Wolf implants Quantum Weakness, enabling the Genius of Brilliant Stars 4-piece DEF ignore on all enemies regardless of their natural weakness. Combine this with Fu Xuan for a tanky sustain and Robin for universal DMG amplification. A strong option in Memory of Chaos where enemy types vary.

Good Debt Collector Partners for Jade

The Herta – Best in slot; frequent AoE attacks generate enormous Charge
Lingsha – AoE sustain who generates Charge while healing
Blade – Generates Charge via follow-up attacks; also benefits from his own HP drain synergy
Argenti – Hits all enemies with most attacks, generating high Charge quickly
Herta – Classic follow-up spammer in Pure Fiction waves
Kafka – Hits multiple enemies per turn; good Charge generation in DoT teams

Jade Eidolons – Are They Worth It?

E1 – Altruism? Nevertheless Tradable

Increases Talent follow-up attack DMG by 32% and makes it easier to build Charge when the Debt Collector hits only 1 or 2 enemies. This is the single most important Eidolon for Jade. Without E1, she struggles against single or dual-target fights because Charge accumulates very slowly. With E1, those limitations mostly disappear. If you are going beyond E0, stop here unless you are a dedicated Jade main.

E2 – Morality? Herein Authenticated

When Jade reaches 15 Pawned Asset stacks, she gains +18% CRIT Rate. Given that her Technique already gives 15 stacks at battle start, this bonus is active from turn one in almost every fight. A meaningful quality-of-life improvement that reduces pressure on CRIT Rate from gear.

E4 – Sincerity? Put Option Only

After using her Ultimate, Jade ignores 12% of enemy DEF for 3 turns. Straightforward and useful, but not transformative. Nice if you have it; not worth chasing specifically.

E6 – Equity? Pending Sponsorship

When a Debt Collector ally is on the field, Jade gains 20% Quantum RES PEN and also gains the Debt Collector state herself. This effectively removes the need to choose between self-buffing and ally-buffing — a very powerful E6 that massively opens up her team-building options. Worth having for dedicated Jade players, but the cost to get here is significant.

Recommended stopping point: E1. E0 is functional in AoE content. E1 is strongly recommended for flexibility in all content types. E2 is a comfortable bonus if you get it along the way. E6 is for the devoted.

Jade Trace Priority

Invest in Jade’s Traces in this order:

Talent – Directly scales her follow-up attack damage. The single biggest impact upgrade
Ultimate – More damage and stronger follow-up enhancement on use
Skill – More Quantum DMG instances from the Debt Collector
Basic ATK – Lowest priority; level last

Always unlock all three Major Traces as early as possible. The A4 Trace action advance at battle start is particularly important — it guarantees Jade acts first and can apply the Debt Collector buff before allies start taking turns.

Is Jade Worth Using in Patch 4.3?

Yes — with an important caveat. In Pure Fiction and multi-target content, Jade is S-tier. She consistently ranks among the highest-performing damage dealers in that mode and is considered one of the best Erudition DPS characters in the game. Her damage ramps as a fight goes on, her Pawned Asset CRIT DMG ceiling is enormous, and she pairs exceptionally well with some of the strongest supports currently available.

The caveat is single-target content at E0. In Memory of Chaos phases with boss-only fights, Jade can feel limited without E1. If you have E1, that weakness is largely resolved. If you are at E0, pair her with a Debt Collector who can still hit multiple targets (such as Lingsha) to keep Charge generation healthy.
