Argenti, the Knight of Beauty, is a powerful AoE Physical DPS who shines brightest in multi-target content and remains a strong Erudition carry in patch 4.3. Forthright and admirable, this wandering knight follows the Aeon Idrila’s Path of Beauty — and on the battlefield, he expresses that devotion through one of the most punishing AoE Ultimates in the game. This Argenti build guide covers everything — best Light Cones, Relics, stat priorities, team compositions, and Eidolons — to get the most out of him in the current patch.

Who Is Argenti in Honkai Star Rail?
Argenti is a 5-star character following the Path of Erudition with the Physical element. A classic Knight of Beauty, he wanders the cosmos alone in devoted service to the Aeon Idrila. Forthright, candid, and just a little over-the-top, he believes that every battle must be fought with piety and that every opponent deserves the full expression of his commitment to Beauty.
On the battlefield, Argenti is the game’s most powerful sustained AoE Physical DPS. His kit is built around hitting as many enemies as possible — every hit builds Apotheosis stacks (CRIT Rate), regenerates Energy via his Talent, and charges toward one of two tiers of his devastating Ultimate. The 90-Energy Ultimate provides quick access to AoE damage and wave-clearing, while the 180-Energy Ultimate unleashes his full power, adding 6 extra random bounce hits that slam into enemies for massive total damage.
His natural role in 4.3 is twofold: as a standalone Pure Fiction AoE carry in multi-wave content, and as an energy battery for The Herta in Erudition dual-DPS teams. Both are legitimate and strong use cases in the current patch.
Argenti Skills and Abilities
Basic ATK – Fleeting Fragrance
Deals Physical DMG to a single target. Rarely used as Argenti’s primary action — his Skill and Ultimate are far stronger. Use Basic ATK only when conserving Energy or Skill Points, or in emergencies.
Skill – Justice, Hereby Blooms
Deals Physical AoE DMG to all enemies. This is Argenti’s primary filler action between Ultimates. Every enemy hit generates Energy via his Talent, making the Skill simultaneously a damage tool and a resource builder. In multi-target fights, the Skill regenerates substantial Energy from a single use, significantly accelerating his Ultimate cycle.
Ultimate – For In This Garden Supreme Beauty Bestows (90 Energy)
The first tier of his Ultimate. Deals Physical AoE DMG to all enemies. Use this when reaching 90 Energy is faster and you need to clear a wave or burst down weakened enemies before they act. A useful tool for finishing off weakened enemies quickly without waiting for the 180-cost threshold.
Ultimate – Merit Bestowed in “My” Garden (180 Energy)
The full-power Ultimate. Deals Physical AoE DMG to all enemies, then fires 6 additional bounce hits against random enemies on the field, each dealing Physical DMG. These bounces also deal Toughness damage to any enemy they hit. At maximum stacks and with good CRIT stats, this is one of the highest-total-damage single actions available to an Erudition character. Always aim for this tier in any fight where you have time to charge to 180.
Talent – Sublime Object
The core of Argenti’s self-buff system. After every hit from Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate, he regenerates Energy equal to a flat amount per enemy hit and gains 1 stack of Apotheosis, each stack increasing his CRIT Rate by 2.2%. Apotheosis stacks up to 10 times (a total of +22% CRIT Rate). Since his Ultimate hits all enemies multiple times, using the full 180-Energy Ultimate in a wave of 5 enemies generates an enormous amount of Energy and stacks Apotheosis very quickly.
Technique – Manifesto of Purest Virtue
Inflicts Daze on enemies in the area for 10 seconds — they will not attack the team while Dazed. Upon entering combat via Dazed enemies, deals Physical AoE DMG and regenerates 15 Energy. Always use this before each fight — the free Energy head start is meaningful given his high 180-Energy target, and the Daze prevents the first enemy attack cycle.
Major Traces
- Piety (A2): At the start of each turn, immediately gains 1 stack of Apotheosis. This means Argenti enters every turn with at least 1 free CRIT Rate stack before landing any hits, accelerating his ramp-up
- Generosity (A4): When enemy targets enter combat, immediately regenerates 2 Energy. In Pure Fiction’s multi-wave structure, new waves constantly grant free Energy, directly fuelling faster Ultimate cycling across the whole run
- Courage (A6): Deals 15% more DMG to enemies whose HP is 50% or below. This bonus is active for most of the fight’s critical windows — the tail end of each enemy’s health bar and the finishing blow zone. An always-relevant passive damage multiplier
Argenti Best Light Cones (4.3)
1. Into the Unreachable Veil (Current Best in Slot)
The Herta‘s signature Light Cone is currently Argenti’s strongest option in 4.3. It provides +20% CRIT Rate and, after using the Ultimate, increases both Skill and Ultimate DMG by 100% for 3 turns. If the Ultimate consumes 140 Energy or more, it also recovers 1 Skill Point. The 100% Skill and Ultimate DMG buff is a transformative multiplier — and unlike An Instant Before A Gaze, it applies to both Skill damage and Ultimate damage simultaneously, covering Argenti’s two most frequent actions. The SP recovery further eases team economy in energy battery compositions.
2. An Instant Before A Gaze (Argenti’s Signature)
Argenti’s own signature Light Cone and historically his best-in-slot choice. It provides +36% CRIT DMG at S1 and increases Ultimate DMG based on the wearer’s Max Energy — at 180 Max Energy, the cap is reached and the full multiplier applies to both cost tiers. A dedicated Ultimate amplifier that is still excellent in 4.3, particularly for battery-style builds where Argenti is constantly cycling his Ultimate. Slightly behind Into the Unreachable Veil in overall output because it only boosts Ultimate rather than Skill too.
3. Night on the Milky Way (AoE Specialist)
Himeko‘s signature Light Cone stacks ATK% for every enemy on the field (up to 5 stacks) and boosts DMG on Weakness Break. In Pure Fiction where 5 targets are consistently present and Argenti breaks Toughness frequently, this cone is particularly strong. A very good option for dedicated Pure Fiction runs if you have it but not the above options.
4. Today Is Another Peaceful Day (4-Star – Best Budget Option)
A Battle Pass Light Cone that converts the wearer’s Max Energy into a DMG bonus. Argenti has the highest Max Energy in the game at 180 — this directly maxes out the bonus. At Superimposition 5, provides up to 36% DMG boost. A genuinely excellent 4-star choice that leverages Argenti’s unique 180-Energy cap better than almost any other character in the game.
5. The Seriousness of Breakfast (4-Star F2P)
Purchasable from the Forgotten Hall Store. Gives a flat DMG% bonus plus ATK% stacks from defeated enemies. Provides a simpler, accessible baseline with no conditional requirements. A usable fallback for players who cannot access the options above.
Argenti Best Relic Sets (4.3)
Scholar Lost in Erudition (4-Piece) – Best in Slot
The definitive relic set for Argenti in 4.3. The 2-piece gives +8% CRIT Rate. The 4-piece increases both Skill and Ultimate DMG by 20% and adds a further +8% CRIT Rate after using the Ultimate. Since Argenti uses his Skill frequently and cycles his Ultimate as the centrepiece of every rotation, both parts of the 4-piece are active for the majority of every fight. This set covers his two most important damage sources simultaneously with no awkward conditional requirements.
Champion of Streetwise Boxing (4-Piece) – Physical Alternative
A physical-focused alternative. The 2-piece gives +10% Physical DMG. The 4-piece stacks ATK% every time Argenti attacks or is attacked, stacking up to 5 times. In long sustained fights, the stacking ATK bonus compounds across many hits. A competitive choice in fights where Scholar’s Skill/Ultimate buff has limited value — though in practice, Scholar edges ahead in most Pure Fiction content.
Scholar Lost in Erudition (2) + Champion of Streetwise Boxing (2)
A solid transitional combination while farming for a clean 4-piece set. CRIT Rate from Scholar and Physical DMG from Streetwise provide clean baseline stats. Use this if neither of your 4-piece sets has good substats.
Argenti Best Planar Ornaments (4.3)
Inert Salsotto (Best Overall)
The recommended Planar Ornament for Argenti. It provides +8% CRIT Rate and, when the wearer’s CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, increases Ultimate and Talent Follow-Up DMG by 15%. Given Argenti’s stacking Apotheosis CRIT Rate (up to +22%) plus gear, reaching 50% CRIT Rate in-combat is almost guaranteed from the first turn. The Ultimate DMG bonus directly amplifies his most powerful ability. Clean, reliable, and always active in practice.
Rutilant Arena (Alternative)
Provides +8% CRIT Rate and, when CRIT Rate reaches 70% or higher, increases Basic ATK and Skill DMG by 20%. Argenti can reach the 70% threshold in multi-target combat thanks to Apotheosis stacking. The Skill DMG bonus is meaningful since he uses his Skill as the primary filler between Ultimates. A strong alternative — particularly in teams where his Skill accounts for a larger share of total output.
Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm (Erudition Team Option)
Provides CRIT Rate and an additional CRIT Rate bonus when two or more Erudition characters are in the party. In a team with The Herta, the conditional activates permanently. A strong choice for Herta dual-carry setups — prioritise this if running Argenti specifically as The Herta’s battery partner.
Argenti Best Stats and Substats (4.3)
Main Stats
- Body: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG (balance based on your current CRIT ratio)
- Boots: SPD (reach 134 for a clean action count)
- Planar Sphere (Orb): Physical DMG Boost
- Link Rope: ATK% (default in most content); Energy Regeneration Rate (in specific scenarios with very fast wave clears)
Substat Priority
- CRIT Rate (reach 70–80% in-combat including Apotheosis stacks)
- CRIT DMG (stack as high as possible once CRIT Rate target is met)
- ATK% and Flat ATK
- SPD (secondary — 134 is the target breakpoint)
Argenti’s Talent provides up to +22% CRIT Rate from Apotheosis stacks — this means you can afford to invest less CRIT Rate in gear substats and lean more heavily into CRIT DMG. The effective in-combat CRIT Rate is significantly higher than the sheet value once combat begins. Aim for at least 55–60% CRIT Rate from gear and the rest will be covered by Apotheosis stacks from the A2 Trace’s free turn start plus hit stacking.
Argenti Best Team Compositions (4.3)
Best Team: The Herta, Argenti, Tribbie, Aventurine/Lingsha
This is the strongest team for Argenti in 4.3 and his most important role in the current meta. The Herta is the primary DPS and Argenti acts as her energy battery — Argenti’s constant AoE hit frequency generates massive stacks for The Herta’s Sticker system while contributing his own excellent AoE damage simultaneously. Tribbie provides universal RES PEN and follow-up contributions that amplify both Erudition DPS characters at once. A sustain in the fourth slot — Aventurine for shields or Lingsha for Break sustain — completes the team.
Pure Fiction Carry: Argenti, Robin/Tribbie, Sunday/Huohuo, Sustain
When running Argenti as the sole primary DPS for Pure Fiction, the goal is maximising Ultimate cycle speed and overall ATK. Robin is an exceptional partner here — her Concert state advances Argenti’s turns and her ATK buff amplifies every hit. Tribbie adds AoE follow-up damage and RES PEN. Sunday with his Beatification can provide action advance and CRIT DMG support. Huohuo contributes Energy Regeneration support while keeping the team alive.
Energy Battery Team: Argenti, Tingyun, Hanya, Luocha/Gallagher
A more accessible team built around keeping Argenti’s Energy charged. Tingyun provides ATK% buffs and Energy Regeneration for fast Ultimate cycling. Hanya generates SP and provides useful buffs. Luocha or Gallagher sustains. A classic team that gets Argenti to the 180-Energy threshold consistently without 5-star support investment.
Dual Erudition: Argenti, Herta, Tribbie, Aventurine
A budget alternative to The Herta team using the standard 4-star Herta. The 4-star Herta’s follow-up attacks fire frequently in multi-target content whenever enemies are above 50% HP — Argenti’s Skill and Ultimate constantly trigger these. Solid in Pure Fiction and a great option for players who do not have The Herta.
Characters That Support Argenti Well
- The Herta – Best partner; synergistic Erudition dual-DPS with battery dynamics
- Tribbie – Universal RES PEN and AoE follow-up damage; HP-scaling fits Pure Fiction well
- Robin – ATK amplification and Concert action advance accelerates Argenti’s rotations
- Sunday – Action advance and CRIT DMG buffs; particularly strong for maximising 180-Energy windows
- Tingyun – Best 4-star Energy support for Argenti; ATK and Energy Regen in one slot
- Huohuo – Energy regeneration plus healing; great for keeping momentum in extended Pure Fiction runs
- Aventurine – Shields plus follow-up attacks that contribute AoE hits to stack Apotheosis faster
- Ruan Mei – Break Efficiency and DMG amplification; particularly useful in content with Physical-weak enemies
Argenti Eidolons – Are They Worth It?
E1 – A Lacuna in Kingdom of Aesthetics
Each stack of Apotheosis additionally increases CRIT DMG by 4%. At 10 stacks this gives a bonus +40% CRIT DMG on top of everything else — a significant sustained damage increase given how quickly Apotheosis stacks in multi-target content. E1 is considered the first investment priority and delivers a clean, unconditional output boost throughout every fight.
E2 – Agate’s Humility
When the Ultimate is used against 3 or more enemies, ATK increases by 40% for 1 turn. In Pure Fiction where 3+ enemies are always present, this activates on every Ultimate use — and since Argenti aims to use the 180-Energy Ultimate repeatedly, this provides a large burst ATK bonus on his highest-damage action every rotation. A very strong E2.
E4 – Trumpet’s Dedication
Gains 2 Apotheosis stacks at the start of battle and increases the max Apotheosis stack limit by 2 (from 10 to 12). Starting combat pre-stacked and having a higher CRIT Rate cap means faster ramp-up and a higher sustained CRIT Rate ceiling. Useful quality-of-life for the opening waves of Pure Fiction.
E6 – “Your” Resplendence
When using Ultimate, ignores 30% of enemy targets’ DEF. A permanent 30% DEF ignore on every Ultimate is a massive multiplicative damage boost — DEF ignore is one of the most powerful damage multipliers in the game. Transforms Argenti’s Ultimate into an even more devastating wave-clearing tool. An exceptional E6 for a fully committed Argenti player.
Recommended stopping point: E1, then E2. E0 is fully functional in Pure Fiction and Herta battery teams. E1 is the priority upgrade — +40% CRIT DMG at max stacks is a clean and meaningful improvement. E2 applies a burst ATK buff on every full Ultimate in multi-target content. Beyond E2, returns are smaller until E6.
Argenti Rotation Guide
Argenti’s rotation is straightforward once you understand the Energy management:
- Use the Technique before every combat — gains 15 Energy immediately and Dazes enemies to prevent their first attack
- On the first turn, use the Skill to deal AoE damage and generate Energy from hits on all enemies. Apotheosis begins stacking from the A2 Trace’s free turn-start stack and each hit
- Continue using Skill each turn as the primary filler — it hits all enemies, builds Energy, and maintains Apotheosis stacks
- At 90 Energy: use the cheaper Ultimate if waves are nearly dead and you need to clear. Otherwise hold
- At 180 Energy: unleash the full Ultimate. All 6 bonus bounces fire, Apotheosis maxes out mid-cast, and all accumulated CRIT buffs apply to the final hits
- Immediately after the Ultimate, use the Skill to begin the next Energy cycle. The A4 Trace’s free 2 Energy from new enemies entering combat (in Pure Fiction) accelerates this further
The key decision in every rotation is whether to fire the 90-Energy or 180-Energy Ultimate. In Pure Fiction where time pressure is low and enemies are plentiful, always wait for 180. In Memory of Chaos where boss phases end quickly, the 90-Energy version can clear a weakened enemy before a dangerous ability.

Is Argenti Worth Using in Patch 4.3?
Yes — in his best content, Argenti is genuinely excellent in 4.3. Pure Fiction is where he thrives. His AoE Ultimate that hits all enemies and fires 6 additional random bounce hits is one of the strongest wave-clear tools available. His Apotheosis CRIT Rate self-buffing means he ramps into high-damage territory quickly without needing external CRIT support. And his role as The Herta‘s energy battery partner gives him a concrete endgame function in the most competitive Erudition team composition currently available.
The caveat is single-target content. Argenti’s multipliers are designed around multi-hit AoE — in Memory of Chaos boss fights with a single target, his output falls significantly behind other DPS options. He is also a weaker choice for Apocalyptic Shadow. Play him in the content he is built for and he delivers; do not force him into single-target scenarios where his kit has no room to breathe.
