- Luka is a 4-star Physical Nihility DPS who applies Bleed — a DoT that deals damage based on the enemy’s Max HP, not Luka’s ATK. Against high-HP enemies, Bleed damage can be disproportionately large.
- His kit revolves around the Fighting Will stack system — reaching 2+ stacks unlocks his enhanced Basic ATK (Sky-Shatter Fist), which chains up to 6 Direct Punch hits and triggers instant additional Bleed damage on hit.
- His Ultimate applies a DMG Taken increase debuff on the enemy for 3 turns — benefiting every teammate’s damage, not just his own.
- His A2 trace dispels 1 enemy buff on every Skill use — making him a consistent debuffer in content where enemies buff themselves.
- Best Light Cone: Before the Tutorial Mission Starts (4-star, excellent budget LC) or Good Night and Sleep Well (4-star). 5-star options: Eyes of the Prey or In the Name of the World.
- Best Relics: Prisoner in Deep Confinement (4-piece, DoT teams) or Champion of Streetwise Boxing (4-piece, general) + Firmament Frontline: Glamoth or Pan-Galactic Commercial Enterprise (Planar Ornament).
- Best teams: Kafka / Luka / Black Swan / Huohuo (premium DoT) and Luka / Ruan Mei / Silver Wolf / Gallagher (accessible).
- Effect Hit Rate 67%+ is mandatory. Bleed must land reliably. Missed Bleed applications dramatically reduce his output.
- Luka is a 4-star permanently available in the gacha pool. He is a solid F2P choice as the only 4-star Physical Nihility character and the only DoT Physical applicator in the game.
- Rated T5 in 4.3 — viable in DoT team compositions and useful as a Physical Weakness breaker, but outperformed in pure damage by newer options.
Who Is Luka in Honkai Star Rail?
Luka is a 4-star Physical character following the Path of Nihility in Honkai Star Rail. He was one of the game’s first limited 4-star characters, debuting in Version 1.2 (August 2023) alongside Blade and Kafka. Since then he has joined the standard pool and appears on all banners as a 4-star rate-up option.
In the game’s lore, Luka is the reigning champion of Boulder Town’s fight club in Belobog’s Underworld. He wields a mechanical arm and is a member of Wildfire, the group that protects the people of the Underworld. He is optimistic and carefree on the surface, but carries deep scars — he joined Wildfire because he himself had experienced despair and wanted to bring hope to others. His combat style is mixed martial arts, and his in-game kit reflects this: a relentless punching sequence that stacks up to escalate into a devastating uppercut.
In terms of meta standing, Luka is rated T5 in patch 4.3. He is not a competitive endgame choice against the current 5-star lineup, but he is the only 4-star Physical Nihility character in the game and the only DoT character who applies Bleed, giving him unique utility in DoT team compositions. His Bleed’s Max HP scaling means he performs disproportionately well against high-HP boss enemies. For players building DoT teams without access to limited 5-stars, he is a genuinely solid F2P investment. For official game details, check the HoYoverse official Honkai Star Rail news page.
Luka Kit Overview – How His Abilities Work
Luka’s kit is built around two interconnected systems: the Fighting Will stack resource that gates his enhanced attacks, and the Bleed DoT that scales off enemy Max HP. Every ability feeds into one or both of these systems.
Fighting Will – The Core Resource
Luka can hold up to 4 stacks of Fighting Will at any time. He gains 1 stack from his Basic ATK and 1 stack from his Skill (plus additional stacks from various Eidolons). When he reaches 2 or more stacks, his Basic Attack enhances to Sky-Shatter Fist. This enhanced attack is significantly more powerful and triggers special Bleed interactions. The A4 trace also generates 3 Energy per Fighting Will stack gained, helping him reach his Ultimate faster with consistent Skill and Basic ATK rotations.
Basic Attack – Direct Punch (Normal Form)
Deals Physical DMG equal to 50% of Luka’s ATK to a single target and generates 1 Fighting Will stack. Low damage, low resource cost. Used when Fighting Will stacks are below 2 or when Skill Points need to be preserved.
Basic Attack – Sky-Shatter Fist (Enhanced Form, 2+ Fighting Will)
The enhanced Basic ATK available when Fighting Will reaches 2+ stacks. Consumes 2 stacks of Fighting Will and launches a multi-hit sequence:
- Direct Punch phase: Deals multiple hits of Physical DMG equal to 10% of Luka’s ATK to a single target. Has a 50% base chance (thanks to A6 trace) for each Direct Punch hit to repeat once — meaning the Direct Punch phase can hit up to 6 times instead of 3.
- Rising Uppercut: The final hit of Sky-Shatter Fist deals Physical DMG equal to 90% of Luka’s ATK. After this hits a Bleeding target, the Bleed status immediately deals damage 1 additional time equal to 68–88% of the original Bleed tick. This instant Bleed proc is the main reason the Enhanced Basic ATK is so valuable — it effectively adds a free Bleed damage instance every time it connects on a Bleeding enemy.
Skill – Lacerating Fist
Deals Physical DMG equal to 120% of Luka’s ATK to a single target. Has a 100% base chance to apply Bleed for 3 turns. Generates 1 Fighting Will stack. At the start of each turn, Bleeding targets take Physical DoT equal to a percentage of their own Max HP (not Luka’s ATK). The Bleed damage cannot exceed a certain value based on Luka’s ATK — so higher ATK on Luka increases the Bleed damage ceiling rather than the Bleed’s base value.
Bleed’s Max HP scaling is Luka’s most unique feature. Against a boss with 5 million HP, even a modest percentage generates enormous absolute damage numbers. This is why Luka performs better against single high-HP targets than against groups of weak enemies.
Ultimate – Coup de Grâce
Deals Physical DMG equal to 270% of Luka’s ATK to a single target. Has a 100% base chance to apply the debuff Kinetic Overload to the target for 3 turns. While Kinetic Overload is active, the enemy takes 12% more damage from all sources. Additionally, the Ultimate grants Luka 2 stacks of Fighting Will. Three things at once: direct damage, team-wide DMG amplification through Kinetic Overload, and Fighting Will generation for the next enhanced Basic ATK cycle. Always prioritise Ultimate when ready — the Kinetic Overload debuff benefits every ally’s damage, not just Luka’s.
Talent – Flying Sparks
Whenever Luka uses his Basic ATK or Skill, he gains 1 stack of Fighting Will (up to 4). This is the passive that keeps Fighting Will accumulating every rotation. Combined with the A4 trace (3 Energy per Fighting Will stack), Luka’s Energy generation is partially tied to how often he gains stacks — meaning active Skill and Basic ATK use simultaneously builds Fighting Will and charges his next Ultimate.
A2 Trace – Kinetic Overload
When Luka uses his Skill, he immediately dispels 1 buff from the enemy target. This is a surprisingly impactful utility trace. In endgame content where elite enemies and bosses frequently self-buff (applying DEF increases, damage reduction, or other enhancements), Luka passively strips one buff per Skill use. This makes him a consistent, SP-efficient debuffer without requiring any active management — the dispel simply fires automatically on every Skill cast.
A4 Trace – Energy from Fighting Will
For every stack of Fighting Will obtained, Luka additionally regenerates 3 Energy. Since he gains Fighting Will constantly through Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate use, this generates a steady Energy stream throughout every fight. Combined with the standard Energy from attacking, Luka cycles his Ultimate reliably without needing an Energy Regeneration Rope in most team setups.
A6 Trace – Extra Punch Chance
When using his Enhanced Basic ATK, every Direct Punch has a 50% fixed chance to trigger one additional hit. This effect does not apply to any additional hits generated in this way (no chain reaction). In practice, this means the standard 3 Direct Punch hits have a 50% chance each to fire a 4th, 5th, or 6th punch — pushing average hits from 3 to approximately 4.5 per Sky-Shatter Fist. Each additional punch generates more Toughness damage and more instances of potential Bleed procs. This trace significantly increases Luka’s Toughness reduction per action and his sustained Physical DMG output.
Technique – Anticipation
Luka immediately attacks the enemy in the overworld. Upon entering battle, he deals Physical DMG equal to 50% of his ATK to a random enemy and immediately applies Bleed with a 100% base chance, gaining 1 Fighting Will stack. Always use the Technique before entering any fight — the free Bleed application means the enemy is already taking DoT from turn 1, and the Fighting Will head-start accelerates the first Sky-Shatter Fist cycle.
Luka Best Light Cones in HSR
Luka follows the Path of Nihility. Only Nihility path Light Cones trigger passive effects on him. His priorities for Light Cones are Effect Hit Rate (to ensure Bleed lands reliably), ATK (to raise the Bleed damage ceiling and direct hit damage), and DMG amplification.
Before the Tutorial Mission Starts (4-Star – Best Budget Option)
This is Luka’s best accessible Light Cone and one of the best 4-star Nihility options in the game. At S5, it grants a 24% ATK increase and, when the wearer attacks an enemy, there is a chance to Ensnare the target — reducing their DEF for 1 turn. The DEF reduction from Ensnare stacks multiplicatively with other penetration sources, amplifying every hit that lands while Ensnare is active. The ATK increase raises the Bleed damage ceiling directly. Easy to obtain from the regular gacha pool and worth getting to S5 for any Luka investment.
Good Night and Sleep Well (4-Star)
A strong 4-star alternative. For each debuff on the target, the wearer’s DMG dealt increases by 12% (stacking up to 3 debuffs, maximum 36% DMG increase). Since Luka applies Bleed, Kinetic Overload from his Ultimate, and potentially the Ensnare debuff from his Light Cone, he can stack 3 debuffs on the target relatively easily — activating the full 36% bonus. A solid offensive choice for maximising damage output.
Eyes of the Prey (4-Star – Effect Hit Rate)
Provides Effect Hit Rate and DoT DMG increase — both directly relevant stats. The Effect Hit Rate ensures Bleed and Kinetic Overload land reliably, and the DoT DMG increase applies to Bleed ticks. A reliable pick, especially for building toward the 67% Effect Hit Rate threshold if your relics are lacking in that stat.
In the Name of the World (Welt’s Signature – 5-Star Alternative)
Provides ATK and, when using Skill, increases Effect Hit Rate for that specific attack by 24% and boosts ATK by 24%. The conditional Effect Hit Rate ensures the Skill’s Bleed always applies even against high Effect RES enemies. The ATK bonus during Skill use directly raises the Bleed ceiling. A strong 5-star option if you own it from the standard banner.
Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat (Luka’s Signature – 4-Star)
Luka’s dedicated signature, obtainable from the standard banner. It provides Effect Hit Rate and, when the wearer hits an enemy, inflicts the Ensnare debuff (DEF reduction for 1 turn) on targets not already Ensnared. Similar to Before the Tutorial Mission Starts but is Luka’s own signature. Both are very close in performance. Either is a valid choice at S5 — choose whichever you have more copies of.
Luka Best Relics in HSR
Luka’s relic priority is Effect Hit Rate first, then ATK, then SPD for action economy. He has two main relic set options depending on team composition: the DoT-team-specific Prisoner in Deep Confinement or the general Champion of Streetwise Boxing.
Best 4-Piece Relic Set (DoT Teams): Prisoner in Deep Confinement
The best relic set for Luka in DoT team compositions alongside Kafka and Black Swan. The 2-piece provides 12% ATK. The 4-piece is the critical mechanic: for every DoT effect on the target, the wearer ignores 6% of enemy DEF when dealing DMG — up to 3 DoTs (18% DEF ignore maximum). In a Kafka + Luka + Black Swan team where the enemy can have Shock, Bleed, and Arcana active simultaneously, Luka’s attacks ignore 18% of the target’s DEF — a multiplicative penetration bonus that significantly amplifies his direct hit damage and Bleed ceiling. This set is strictly better than Champion of Streetwise Boxing in multi-DoT team compositions.
Best 4-Piece Relic Set (General): Champion of Streetwise Boxing
The best general-use relic set for Luka outside of dedicated DoT teams. The 2-piece provides 10% Physical DMG Bonus. The 4-piece provides stacking 5% ATK bonuses (up to 5 stacks, 25% total) whenever Luka attacks or is hit. Since he attacks consistently through Skill, Enhanced Basic ATK, and Ultimate, the stacks build quickly and stay capped throughout most fights. Raising the ATK cap improves both direct hit damage and the Bleed damage ceiling. Use this set in standard content without a multi-DoT team composition.
Best Planar Ornament: Firmament Frontline: Glamoth
Provides ATK% and, when SPD reaches 135 or higher, an additional 12% DMG increase (18% at 160+ SPD). Both the ATK and DMG bonuses directly scale Luka’s output. With moderate SPD investment, the 135 threshold is easily reachable. Target 135+ base SPD with Luka for full Glamoth value. Farm this in Simulated Universe.
Alternative Planar Ornament: Pan-Galactic Commercial Enterprise
Provides 10% Effect Hit Rate and converts a portion of the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate into ATK (up to 25% additional ATK from Effect Hit Rate). Since Luka needs high Effect Hit Rate regardless, this set gives him a meaningful ATK bonus as a side effect of building the required Effect Hit Rate. Particularly useful if relic substats are lacking in ATK% and Effect Hit Rate is already covered through other sources.
Alternative Planar Ornament: Revelry by the Sea
A DoT-focused Planar Ornament that provides ATK and boosts DoT DMG. The DoT DMG increase applies directly to Bleed ticks — each tick deals more damage with this ornament equipped. A viable alternative if your Glamoth or Pan-Galactic pieces have poor substats, especially in DoT-heavy compositions.
Relic Main Stats to Target
- Head: HP (fixed)
- Hands: ATK (fixed)
- Body: Effect Hit Rate — the most important main stat. Luka needs 67%+ Effect Hit Rate in combat to ensure Bleed and Kinetic Overload land consistently against high Effect RES enemies. Never compromise on this.
- Feet: SPD — aim for 134–135+ base to activate Firmament Frontline: Glamoth’s DMG bonus and maintain solid action economy.
- Planar Sphere: Physical DMG Bonus — directly scales all his hit damage and contributes to raising the Bleed ceiling through ATK-adjacent scaling.
- Link Rope: ATK% — raises the Bleed damage ceiling directly and boosts all direct hit multipliers.
Key Substat Priority
Effect Hit Rate is the top priority substat — reach 67%+ in combat including all bonuses from the Planar Ornament and Light Cone before investing in offensive stats. After the threshold is met, ATK% is the top offensive substat, scaling Bleed’s damage ceiling and every hit. SPD substats for action economy. Break Effect is secondary and primarily only relevant if running Luka in Break compositions (where Sailing Towards a Second Life can be used). Avoid CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG — Luka’s Bleed and most of his damage sources do not benefit from CRIT stats.
Stat Targets
- Effect Hit Rate: 67%+ in combat
- ATK: 2,400–2,800+
- SPD: 134–135+ base
Luka Best Teams in HSR 4.3
Luka functions best in two team archetypes: DoT teams alongside Kafka and Black Swan (where his Bleed is repeatedly triggered by Kafka’s Skill and Ultimate), and as a Physical utility DPS in teams that need a Physical Weakness breaker alongside Silver Wolf’s element implant.
Premium DoT Team: Kafka / Luka / Black Swan / Huohuo
This is Luka’s best team. Kafka is the DoT team’s core — her Skill deals DMG to enemies with DoT and triggers Bleed procs immediately rather than waiting for the DoT tick. Every Kafka Skill use instantly fires Luka’s Bleed for bonus damage on top of the regular DoT cycle. Black Swan applies Arcana DoT stacks that compound in damage the more they accumulate. The combination of Bleed (Physical), Shock (Lightning from Kafka), and Arcana (from Black Swan) means Prisoner in Deep Confinement is always at maximum 18% DEF ignore for all three characters. Huohuo provides healing, ATK buffs, and Energy restoration. This team consistently clears Memory of Chaos and delivers strong Pure Fiction performance in AoE content — with Black Swan handling AoE while Luka and Kafka focus single-target burst.
Classic DoT Team: Kafka / Luka / Sampo / Gallagher
Kafka and Luka form the core DoT duo. Sampo provides Wind Shear DoT (another stack for Prisoner in Deep Confinement’s DEF ignore) and applies a 30% DoT DMG increase debuff that benefits Luka’s Bleed ticks directly. Gallagher sustains efficiently with his Besotted Break DMG Taken debuff. This is a budget-accessible DoT team that performs well without requiring Black Swan or Huohuo as 5-star investments.
Accessible Single-Target Team: Luka / Ruan Mei / Silver Wolf / Gallagher
A team that uses Luka as the primary DPS with Ruan Mei and Silver Wolf as amplifiers. Ruan Mei extends the duration of Weakness Break, keeping enemies Broken longer for more Bleed uptime and Ultimate Kinetic Overload coverage. Silver Wolf implants Physical Weakness on non-Physical enemies, ensuring Luka can always apply Bleed and benefit from E2’s additional Fighting Will stack on Physical Weakness targets. Gallagher sustains. A straightforward team that works in most content.
Boothill Break Team: Boothill / Luka / Ruan Mei / Gallagher
An interesting synergy team noted in community guides. Boothill has higher Break Effect than Luka and is the primary Toughness breaker in this team. Luka focuses on SPD and ATK without needing to invest heavily in Break Effect himself — Boothill handles the breaking while Luka applies Bleed and Kinetic Overload for team-wide DMG amplification. Ruan Mei extends Weakness Break. Gallagher sustains. An unconventional but functional composition.
Notable Partner Notes
- Kafka — Best partner. Her Skill instantly triggers Luka’s Bleed for bonus damage, transforming Bleed from a passive DoT into an active burst source.
- Black Swan — Arcana DoT stacks provide a third DoT for Prisoner in Deep Confinement and compound damage over time.
- Sampo — F2P Wind Shear DoT applicator + 30% DoT DMG increase debuff. Best accessible third DoT character.
- Silver Wolf — Implants Physical Weakness on any enemy. Activates E2’s extra Fighting Will stack on Physical Weakness targets.
- Ruan Mei — Extends Weakness Break duration, increases Break Efficiency, and provides passive DMG% buff.
- Gallagher — Best accessible sustain with Break DMG Taken debuff active on enemies.
- Pela — Free DEF reduction that stacks with Prisoner’s DEF ignore and Luka’s own debuffs.
Luka Trace Priority
- Skill – First. The Skill governs both the direct hit multiplier (120% ATK) and the Bleed’s Max HP scaling percentage. Higher Skill level increases the Bleed DMG percentage, raising the total Bleed damage per tick against high-HP targets. Since Bleed is Luka’s primary damage source in DoT compositions, every Skill level is a direct DPS upgrade. Max this first.
- Ultimate – Second. Higher Ultimate level increases the 270% ATK hit multiplier and may improve the Kinetic Overload DMG Taken percentage. The Ultimate is Luka’s single largest direct damage hit and generates 2 Fighting Will stacks. Level alongside Skill.
- Talent – Third. Higher Talent level increases the instant additional Bleed damage triggered by Rising Uppercut (the Enhanced Basic ATK’s final hit on a Bleeding enemy). Since this fires every Sky-Shatter Fist sequence, per-level improvements compound across the whole rotation.
- A2 Trace – Unlock early. The buff dispel on every Skill use is pure utility that operates independently of Luka’s damage — it is especially valuable in content where enemies self-buff. Unlock as soon as ascension materials allow.
- A4 Trace – Unlock after A2. The 3 Energy per Fighting Will stack significantly improves Ultimate cycling. More Ultimates means more Kinetic Overload uptime for the team. Unlock early.
- A6 Trace – Unlock third. The 50% chance to add extra Direct Punches during Sky-Shatter Fist increases Toughness reduction and multi-hit damage. Important for sustained output in enhanced Basic ATK-heavy rotations.
- Basic Attack – Last. The Normal Basic ATK is rarely used once Fighting Will stacks are maintained. Level minimally.
Luka Eidolons – Which Ones Are Worth It?
Luka is a 4-star character available permanently in the gacha pool, so Eidolons naturally accumulate over time. His Eidolons follow the typical 4-star pattern — most are incremental, but E2 and E6 are genuinely impactful.
E1 – Damage Boost on Bleed
When Luka attacks a Bleeding enemy, his DMG dealt increases by 15% for 2 turns. Since Luka should always be attacking Bleeding enemies, this is effectively a permanent 15% DMG bonus during any rotation where Bleed is maintained. A good first Eidolon that meaningfully increases his sustained output in Bleed-active fights.
E2 – Fighting Will Rotation Upgrade
If Luka’s Skill hits an enemy with Physical Weakness, he gains 1 extra stack of Fighting Will. This shortens the rotation to access his Enhanced Basic ATK significantly. With Silver Wolf implanting Physical Weakness on any enemy, E2 ensures Luka can reliably chain Skill → Enhanced Basic ATK more frequently, increasing the rate at which Rising Uppercut fires and triggers instant Bleed procs. Community guides consistently rate E2 as the most useful Eidolon for streamlining Luka’s rotation — particularly in Silver Wolf compositions.
E4 – ATK Scaling from Fighting Will
For every stack of Fighting Will obtained, Luka’s ATK increases by 5%, stacking up to 4 times (maximum 20% ATK at 4 stacks). Since Fighting Will stacks accumulate constantly throughout the fight, this effectively provides a near-permanent 15–20% ATK increase during active rotations. The ATK increase raises both his direct hit damage and the Bleed damage ceiling.
E6 – Best Eidolon for Enhanced Basic ATK Builds
When Luka’s Enhanced Basic ATK hits a Bleeding enemy, each Direct Punch causes the enemy to take 8% more damage per hit. With up to 6 Direct Punch hits per Sky-Shatter Fist sequence (via A6 trace’s extra punches), this stacks to a significant cumulative DMG Taken increase on the final Rising Uppercut and subsequent skills. E6 disproportionately rewards builds that maximise Sky-Shatter Fist hit count and is a substantial damage upgrade for invested Luka players. Worth pursuing if multiple copies accumulate naturally through banner pulls.
Luka Rotation Guide – How to Play Him
Luka’s rotation is straightforward once you understand the Fighting Will stack cycle and the importance of keeping Bleed applied at all times.
Battle Start
Always use Luka’s Technique before entering a fight. Bleed applies immediately at battle start, the enemy is already taking DoT from turn 1, and Luka gains 1 Fighting Will pre-loaded. The Technique also gives an early advantage in Toughness reduction, helping break the enemy’s Weakness bar faster for the first Weakness Break window.
Standard Rotation (Normal Content)
The standard Luka rotation is: Skill → Basic ATK → Basic ATK → Basic ATK → Skill (repeat). With the Talent granting 1 stack per action and the A4 trace generating 3 Energy per stack, this cycle builds Fighting Will toward 2+ for Enhanced Basic ATK and charges Energy toward the next Ultimate simultaneously. In practice:
- Use Skill to apply/refresh Bleed and gain 1 Fighting Will.
- Use Basic ATK to gain 1 Fighting Will — at 2 stacks, the next Basic ATK is Enhanced (Sky-Shatter Fist).
- Execute Sky-Shatter Fist against the Bleeding target — Rising Uppercut fires instant Bleed damage.
- Use Skill again to refresh Bleed and restart the cycle.
- Fire Ultimate when ready for the Kinetic Overload debuff and 2 free Fighting Will stacks.
DoT Team Rotation (With Kafka)
In Kafka teams, the priority changes slightly: always ensure Bleed is active before Kafka uses her Skill on the target, since Kafka’s Skill instantly fires all active DoTs for bonus damage. The Bleed must be on the enemy before Kafka acts. Use Luka’s Skill to refresh Bleed, then let Kafka fire — Kafka’s Skill triggers Luka’s Bleed for an immediate bonus instance on top of the normal DoT tick. The more Bleeds that are triggered this way per cycle, the more damage the composition generates.
Maintaining Kinetic Overload Uptime
Kinetic Overload from Luka’s Ultimate lasts 3 turns and increases all DMG taken by the enemy by 12%. Always use the Ultimate before long damage windows — apply Kinetic Overload before Kafka’s or Black Swan’s burst turns to amplify their damage output. Track the debuff duration in battle and plan the next Ultimate so Kinetic Overload doesn’t lapse before the team’s highest-damage turns.
Should You Build Luka in HSR 4.3?
Build him if you have him and are running a DoT team. Luka is the only Physical Bleed applicator in the game, and Bleed’s Max HP scaling makes him genuinely strong against high-HP boss targets. In the right composition — particularly alongside Kafka — his Bleed becomes an active burst tool rather than passive DoT, and his Kinetic Overload debuff benefits every teammate’s damage output simultaneously.
His utility beyond raw damage is also worth noting. The A2 trace’s buff dispel on every Skill use is consistent anti-buff utility that many teams benefit from. As a Nihility character, he also contributes to Acheron’s Slashed Dream stack generation in dual-Nihility team compositions at E2.
His honest limitations: he is strictly single-target outside of his Technique opener. Pure Fiction is not his domain. He is outclassed as a standalone DPS by current 5-star alternatives. And without Kafka, his Bleed is much slower — a 3-turn DoT tick is considerably less impactful than Kafka’s immediate proc. He is at his best when complementing a DoT team’s existing structure, not carrying one alone.
For the teams that maximise Luka’s value, see our guides for Kafka, Black Swan, Sampo, Silver Wolf, and Gallagher. For stronger single-target Physical DPS alternatives, see our guides for Phainon and Yunli. For other 4-star F2P DPS options, check our guides for Sushang and Serval.
