Where to Use Honorarium Sigils (Desecrated Fortress) in Saros
TL;DR
- Honorarium Sigils are collectible key items exclusive to the Desecrated Fortress — Biome 5 in Saros.
- You need up to 6 Sigils to open all the gates inside the Sealed Chamber, called the Honorarium.
- Sigils drop from white containers and can also appear as ground loot throughout the biome.
- The Honorarium (Sealed Chamber) is located deep in the biome, just before the Architect boss fight.
- To reach it, navigate through a large red laser room, then drop down through a hole in the floor.
- Each Sigil opens one door — rewards include Lucenite, heals, a possible Halcyon, Integrity and Power Augments, containers, and an Audio Log.
- Sigils reset every run, but the Honorarium regenerates each cycle so you can always try again.
What Are Honorarium Sigils in Saros?
When you first arrive in the Desecrated Fortress — the fifth biome in Saros — you may crack open a white container expecting a weapon or an artifact and pull out something you have never seen before: an Honorarium Sigil. The item description simply says it grants access to a sealed chamber. The game gives you no map marker and no directions. An optional objective ticks up in the top left corner of the screen reading “Collect Sigils,” and then it leaves you to figure out the rest.
This is completely intentional. Housemarque designed Honorarium Sigils to reward players who explore every corner of the biome rather than following only the main path. Think of them as Desecrated Fortress’s version of Carcosan Keys — they open locked doors, and the more you collect, the more you unlock.
There are up to 6 Honorarium Sigils available in the Desecrated Fortress per run, one for each gate inside the Sealed Chamber. Miss even one side path and you could arrive at the Honorarium a Sigil short.

Where to Find Honorarium Sigils
Sigils are exclusive to the Desecrated Fortress. You will not find them in any other biome. They appear in two ways:
- White containers: The primary source. These are the same white containers you have been opening throughout the game, but inside the Fortress they frequently hold Sigils instead of weapons or artifacts.
- Ground loot: Sigils can also appear as pickups on the floor, especially in side rooms and off-path areas.
The Fortress uses a semi-procedural layout, meaning the exact spots where white containers appear will shift between cycles. The rules stay consistent though — Sigils are almost always tucked into side paths and rooms that branch off the main route. If you follow only the objective marker and skip the white flag paths on your minimap, you will arrive at the Sealed Chamber short on Sigils.
How to Find All 6 Sigils
The most reliable approach is simple: take every fork in the road that does not have the main objective marker on it first. Side paths in the Desecrated Fortress almost always lead to a white container, and that container very likely holds a Sigil.
Keep a close eye on your minimap for unexplored corridors. The Fortress has a grey and white colour palette that makes containers easy to overlook against the environment. Your map is your best tool for spotting paths you have not cleared yet.
There are a few specific places worth noting:
- First room of the Fortress: As soon as you enter, look for a box early on. It often contains a Sigil. Do not skip it.
- Tall room with floating platforms: This room has two options — up continues the main path, while down leads to a side room. The side room below contains another Sigil, and you will also find the character Eli there. Always check it.
- Side rooms along the main route: Keep clearing every branching corridor you encounter. The biome generally contains enough containers to reach 6 if you clear every path.
One important note: Sigils are cycle-specific. If you die or restart the run, your Sigil count resets to zero and the containers regenerate in a new layout. Treat every run as a fresh collection attempt.
Where Is the Sealed Chamber (The Honorarium)?
The Sealed Chamber — referred to in-game as the Honorarium — is located deep inside the Desecrated Fortress, well past the area where you unlock Eclipse Threads. You will know you are close when your surroundings start to look quieter and more structured.
The clearest landmark before the Honorarium is a very large room with no enemies inside. This room is frequently filled with red security lasers that deal significant damage if you walk into them. When you enter a silent, enemy-free chamber crisscrossed with red beams, you are right on top of your destination.
Navigate through or dash past the laser room to reach the far exit. Immediately after leaving it, you will see a large hole in the floor. Do not look for a bridge or a ladder — there is not one. Drop straight down through the hole. As soon as you land, your objective updates to “Open the Honorarium” and you will be standing directly in front of the Sealed Chamber door.
If you have not yet unlocked Eclipse Threads, note that reaching the Honorarium requires that ability to cross certain gaps deeper in the biome. Our guide on how to unlock Eclipse Threads in Saros covers exactly how to get it.
How to Use Honorarium Sigils at the Sealed Chamber
Once you are standing in front of the Honorarium, the mechanic is straightforward. Each locked gate requires one Sigil to open. Walk up to each door and interact with it. The number of Sigils you collected during your run through the Fortress determines how far you can go inside.
There is no way to save up Sigils across runs — they reset every cycle. Whatever you collected in this run is what you have to work with right now.

What Rewards Do You Get From the Honorarium?
The Honorarium is split into sections, each one unlocked by a Sigil. Here is what each part of the chamber contains:
- First gate (1 Sigil): Lucenite, heals, and potentially a Halcyon. This is the base reward that every player can access as long as they collected at least one Sigil.
- Second set of doors (additional Sigils): One path leads to an Audio Log plus Integrity and Power Augments. The other path leads to containers and other useful items.
- All 6 gates open: Full access to everything in the Sealed Chamber, giving you the best possible pre-boss loadout before facing the Architect.
The Power Augments behind the second set of doors are worth prioritising. Going into the Architect fight with boosted stats makes a meaningful difference, especially since the Architect is one of the more aggressive and health-tanky bosses in the game.
The loot inside appears to have some randomness to it — what exactly shows up behind each door can vary between runs. But the categories stay consistent: Lucenite, healing, Augments, collectibles, and containers.
Is It Worth Collecting All 6 Sigils Every Run?
Yes, if you have time. The Honorarium is the best pre-boss reward pool in the Desecrated Fortress. The Augments and Lucenite you collect there directly improve your Proficiency, which means better weapon drops during the run and a stronger kit going into the Architect fight.
If you are on a tight run and skipping side paths to move faster, you will likely open only the first gate. That is still worth doing — Lucenite and a potential Halcyon are never a bad pickup. But if you want to go into the Architect fully prepared, clearing every side room and arriving with all 6 Sigils is the best approach.
Do not stress if you fall short on your first visit. The Honorarium regenerates every cycle. You will have another opportunity next run.
Tips for Maximising Your Sigil Count
- Check the minimap constantly. The white flag icons on the map indicate side paths. Make these your first priority before pushing the main objective forward.
- Do not sprint the main path. The Desecrated Fortress is one of the larger biomes in the game. It rewards thorough exploration more than speed.
- Open every white container you see. Even if earlier ones did not hold Sigils, keep opening them. The drop is consistent enough that clearing all containers usually gets you close to 6.
- Check below in the tall floating platform room. The side room below that room is easy to skip if you head up toward the main path. Always go down first.
- Don’t confuse Sigils with other key items. Sigils are specific to this biome. If you picked up what looked like a key item in an earlier biome, it was something else. Sigils only appear in the Desecrated Fortress.
What Comes After the Honorarium?
Once you have opened all the gates you can, head back out of the Sealed Chamber and continue toward the boss. The path to the Architect involves using Eclipse Threads and Grapple points to climb up the highest spire of the Fortress. There is a short platforming sequence near the top that combines both traversal tools.
After reaching the summit, you will face the Architect — the Overlord of the Desecrated Fortress. This boss has a large health pool and three phases. It is one of the longer fights in the game, so arriving with strong Augments from the Honorarium genuinely helps.

Honorarium Sigils and Replayability
One of the strengths of the Sigil system is that it gives the Desecrated Fortress real replay value. On your first run through, you probably will not know all the side paths well enough to collect all 6. That’s fine. On your second and third runs, you will know where to look, and you will start arriving at the Honorarium fully loaded.
This is the same loop that makes other optional systems in Saros worth revisiting — like the Nightmare Strands, which also reset each cycle and always offer a fresh reward pool. If you want to know more about how those work alongside the Honorarium, our guide on Nightmare Strands explained in Saros covers all the details.

Few Thoughts at the End
Honorarium Sigils are one of the Desecrated Fortress’s best systems because they directly reward thorough exploration. The more of the biome you clear, the stronger you arrive at the Sealed Chamber, and the stronger you go into the Architect fight. Six Sigils, six gates, full access to everything inside — that is the target every run.
Clear every side path, open every white container, and check every fork before following the main objective. Do that consistently, and the Honorarium stops being a mystery and starts being one of the most reliable reward moments in the game.
